Where’s there’s glitz and money…there’s a knife poised for every back The Côte d’Azur is the timeless epitome of beauty, from its lush green hills to its azure waters and white sandy beaches. And Monaco has always been the jewel right in the center of the Riviera, a sparkling example of incomparable wealth and beauty. But when Laurent and Grace disappear on an antique buying trip to Monaco that should only take a few hours, the police suggest they ran off together. With only a contrary off-duty detective from Aix who never liked her, Maggie will plumb the underbelly of Monaco's gambling dens to find her loved ones before they disappear forever.
this was a good story. It was good to read about Maggie again. I love how her family and Grace go through all life changes like us 'normal" folks. However, the content was gruesome in some parts. all those deaths and animals. I can't help but think this "Le jeu" is an actual happening.
the book indeed described Monaco in a great way. I have never been to the country but I sure would like to see it now. Just the casino parts; not Maggie's and family parts. Looking forward to Book # 24.
I've been a big fan of the Maggie Newberry series since it began and strongly recommend the first 22 books in this series. I buy all of the Maggie Newberry books as soon as I see a new one is coming out. However, I'm at 39% of Murder In Monaco and I can't take the threat of violence to characters I've come to know and like. I might fast forward to the ending, or maybe not. I need to stop reading and get away from the fear I'm feeling for Laurant and Grace and Maggie for a while. I guess writers are supposed to evoke strong feelings in readers, but I don't like the feelings I'm having when reading this book.
Wow ! This book is such an awesome read with all characters keeping you in suspense. It was hard putting it down to do errands. Thankfully the writer did not disappoint meaning I am going to pre order the next book. Always a five star rating from me reason I have read all of them now waiting on book 24. Maggie keep up your great writing ❤️
23rd book in the Maggie Newberry books, this one had me from the start til the finish. Maggie’s husband and best friend have gone on a 3-hour drive to pick up an antique across the border in Italy. But when they don’t return Maggie goes to Monte Carlo to find them and gets embroiled with a deadly mafia game. It takes all of her wit and skill, along with the help of a few friends, to bring this one to a thrilling conclusion.
I love this series so much! This book is less about the interplay of relationships and more about Maggie and her love for the people who surround her. It's really different from the other books. I hope we get back to the relationships and mysteries solved by Maggie and crew.
Murder in Monaco was up close and personal. I couldn’t stop reading I was so engrossed in it. At this point Maggie and Laurent are like family, so to have them go through what they did was not only terrifying but gave us further evidence of their love for each other and their family. A highly engaging story! Loved it!
I love this series, but this book was harder to read than most because Laurent, Maggie, and Grace were put into so much danger all the way through to the very end of the story. The reader must persevere to the end. Plus we know there are more books in the series, so our favorite characters will live to see another day and adventure.
*****Only small spoilers **** Really enjoyed the book but to me it was very different, using animals as killing machines. I wasn't at all sure about that. Like l say though I did enjoy it and can't wait for the next one. Obviously already on pre-order.

I’ve enjoyed all of the Maggie Newberry books. They make for light, easy summer reading. This one had a different twist as it was not Laurent coming in to rescue Maggie but rather the other way around.
I really like the Maggie Newberry series; I've come to know all the characters over the years. It's hard to believe all the murders Maggie has been "involved" in her life. This plot was pretty violent and far out. But I will keep reading because they entertain me.
All of the elements I love about the Maggie Newbury series are gone in this recent book. It’s a story that describes in ongoing detail deathly violence and depravity. Could not read it.
