An Ink So Dark: Featuring Detective Inspector Judas Iscariot of Scotland Yard

Rate this book
This is for you if you like Rivers of London, American Gods, The Kings Watch, the Quantum Creators, and the Dresden Files. The Black Museum series is a page-turning, magical realism, urban fantasy like no other featuring the most unlikely and unexpected hero you can imagine.

When members of the public start killing each other in bizarre circumstances and with no apparent motive, DCI Judas Iscariot of the secret occult magic division at Scotland Yard, known as the Black Museum, is called into action. But, unfortunately, he quickly discovers that a demonic serial killer with a horrifyingly unique M.O. has come to town. Meanwhile, in leafy Highgate, the ghost of the killer of the King's Horses stalks the cemetery. In the Irish Sea, a Patron Saint stirs, and back at Scotland Yard, the seeds of betrayal and deception are sown. The White Witch returns, Sergeant Lace walks into danger, and the First of the Fallen sets a trap on a dark bridge that joins Heaven to Hell. Judas has never been so vulnerable, but there is hope as long as the Black Maria, Bulls-Eye the talking dog and his friend Montague Huxley stand with him. But will it be enough to save the people he loves and the city he serves?

NO! No, no, no. How can he kill off Lacey, she was a brilliant addition to the book.
I love this series, it keeps you interested all the way through it. Poor old Judas is having a hard time, turns out Angel Dave managed not to die, but only because Lucifer is out to get Judas. His death weighs heavily on Judas but there is a more pressing concern so he can't actually do anything about it right now. The ink of the title is of a very nasty person who exists on pain and suffering, so that also sounds like Lucifer in a way. However whatever the evil, the man doing it is responsible for Lacey dying. Judas cannot save her in time.
On the plus side his lady comes to visit so he gets a temporary lift. He manages to recruit more help in the black museum to see what Simon is up to and that too is evil. There is just no let up for poor Judas.

Another cracker from this author!

What a read! I promised myself I wouldn't race through this book but couldn't put it down. The story line and characters make it impossible to limited yourself to a couple of chapters and you loose yourself in the world of DCI Iscariot.
