To be honest I was kind of looking forward to reading this and it was kind of a let down some of the stories were kind of interesting though most were just kind of blasé the stories were kind of just OK the artwork was nice but all in all I just found it to be Kind of just OK

Intriging collection. The stories themselves are nothing special and most end far too early but it did manage to pique my interest enough that I now want to track down and read the main series.

NOT a prequel!

This anthology collection has a bunch of characters that are not in Volume 1 of the manga. Since I haven't read volume two yet I can't tell you if you should read past volume two before the characters in this anthology mean anything or make sense. That being said, it is just a collection of short situations that are along the same theme as volume one, there's just a handful of characters that you don't know anything about. The theme also shifts a little bit because it actually addresses some sort of spiritualism and exorcism abilities that were not part of volume one either. So if you want to avoid spoilers at least read volume two before you read this one.

This series really strikes a chord with me! Growing up, I was really a huge fan of Alvin Schwartz’s “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” books. Along with the absolutely jarring and spectacularly spooky illustrations by Stephen Gammell, this series delivers the same uncomfortably spooky images to the readers.
My main complaint with it so far is that the “fan service” is completely unnecessary🙄 - the author would do better to focus on the fun and engaging storyline instead. Looking forward to finishing the series though!

kinda disappointed with this one. while the art was pretty good and unique for most of the chapters, they were either too short to do much with the characters or just plain boring.

my favourite one was probably the ‘fanboy ghost’ one or the story with the yakuza and his cat. however the bath house fanservice-y chapter sticks out like a turd in a flower shop, it didn’t do anything with the concept and was an absolute drag to read

overall a very mixed bag of stories.

As an anthology it contains 13 short stories, some decent, some pretty good and one that definitely is about the fan service (the other 12 are not). So of the more intriguing ones were definitely too short. As such it is what I expected. A fun short read, getting 4 stars more because of expectations for an anthology then because it was truly excellent. Others might obviously feel differently.

I should have read the description. I thought this was like a prequel to the first Mieruko-chan book. It's not. It's a bunch of shorts done by other quirky/horror manga authors/artists about the Mieruko-chan universe. Some are good, some are alright. They all feel ... brief. A respectable effort, at the very least.

Someone who was familiar with any of the mangaka featured here would probably enjoy it more than I did. None of these stories was more than a few pages long, so irritations like authorial self-insert monsters, and a grotesquely pneumatic Hana, didn't last long enough to cause a DNF. A decent side trip, but not something I'd have bothered trying to track down if my partner hadn't bought it.

Short Mieruko-chan chapters from mangakas

This is a good collection of Mieruko-chan and company one-shots from various mangakas. It develops the characters in some surprising situations. There’s even a POV one from the ghouls. Hana is eating everything in sight. Mieruko-chan is perpetually wide eyed. It’s a good entertaining read.

A bunch of shorts from different artist and writers who love reading this series. It's not great, some cool one shots, a couple of weaker ones, but overall a interesting collection if you like this world. A little bit of a letdown though. A 3 out of 5.

This was a neat concept. Really cool. But the only stories I really liked were, “Fright of the Fitting Room” and my fave, “One Who Knows the Girl Who Sees”.

Had this for forever and I finally decided to read it. Some of the stories were interesting…. But for future me, don’t ever buy another comic anthology again, kay? Good.
