Torin is a trained assassin. He has never met a female who’s his match…until he is paired with Special Agent Sky’lar on Portex Three. Together the two of them must track a serial killer through space, but in the process someone is going to get Pierced...

Special Agent Sky’lar is a rare Pitch-Blood Kindred female. She has lived most of her life on Portex Three and never even seen one of her own kind since her mother died when she was young. Imagine her surprise when she walks into work at the Peace Keeper Station and is informed by her Captain that she has a new partner. Not only that, but her partner is a Kindred warrior and a male. Since females are dominant on Portex Three, this is a new and unwelcome development for Sky. How can a male possibly make a good partner?

Commander Torin works for the Kindred Elite Espionage group—he’s been trained as a spy and an assassin but right now he’s tracking a killer. A mysterious entity has been murdering Kindred Ambassadors and the rulers of planets where females are in charge. Zetta Prime and Yonnie Six have already been hit and Portex Three is third on the killer’s list. Torin knows that Sky doesn’t like working with him but he doesn’t give a damn—he’s willing to do whatever it takes to catch the murderer, even if it means baring parts of his soul that he’s kept secret, even from himself.

Now the killer is on the loose and instead of another Ambassador, Sky is in his sights. Will Torin be able to stop him before he kills again? And will Sky survive the killer’s murderous intentions? You’ll have to read this Enemies to Lovers, He Falls First, Warrior Heroine, HEA novel, Pierced, to find out!

Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.

Pierced is definitely NOT what I was expecting when I went into the ARC, and I was delighted to read a different spin on the Kindred books that I've come to love and expect. There were parts that I was not the biggest fan of only due to personal preferences in character dynamics, but Ms. Evangeline wrote another fantastic book that fit well with the Kindred Universe and foreshadowed the (hopefully) next story as well.

I think Pierced is a well written tale of intrigue, suspense, sexual tension, and action that is a fantastic addition to the Kindred-verse. Well done!

Normally, author newsletters don't influence me in any way. But Evangeline's one today for the upcoming Brides of the Kindred #30 made me remember how I hadn't read Book 28 or 29 and had some catching up to do. I had a whole list of books to read (I actually made a list in my Keep Notes), but I knew as soon as I bought this that that preordained list would be forgotten.

I ADORED the beginning. I loved how it started off with just an ordinary day in Sky'lar's life (oh, to be a Mammalian in a Reptilian world, LOL) until it wasn't. Torin was immediately attracted to her, but she disliked him at first, which made for an interesting romance development and dynamic. Sky'lar was described as plus-size, but I never saw her as so. EA likes to make all her heroines plus-size, but it didn't fit the heroine in this one. I had formed my conception of her before I read that she was an Elite, so that didn't help.

It was obvious from the prologue who the villain (serial killer) was, but that didn't take away my enjoyment of the story.

Evangeline Anderson is one of my favorite authors, and I'll read anything she writes. This book reminded me of how much I love the Kindred. I wish I could live in their world and go to these planets, or if not that, at least have a TV show for the book series.

Yes,

I'm looking forward to reading my next book by her! This book actually made me want to reread Shared by the Monstrum , Mirabella's book. When someone said how all members of the Sacred Seven were killed except one, I was like omg, are they talking about Mirabella? (I felt drawn to read Shared by the Monstrum earlier this year for some reason, even though I try not to read the series out of order.)

I liked this book so much that I read it in one night. Yes, I also attended a function that made me uncomfortable, so I was very antisocial and hid and read this book on my Kindle :) the only reason I had a good time there was because of this book.

It's funny how when I start one of this author's books my kindle says 6hrs and I groan. Then it learns I read fast and it was probably half that as I whizzed through this wonderful story.
Certainly different in character actions this time as we revisit planets and people we know. Agent Sky'lar is dominant due to the world she was raised in and Kindred Torin was taken aback with the way things went.
A killer is on the loose, we know who it is but they don't. Nor do they realise the dark evil that it is.
Sky's in grave danger, will he be able to save her.
I really enjoyed this story and it's characters.

Happy, happy, happy. My favorite Kindred couple. Both strong, bold Kindred. Plenty of spicy heat flying between them. This is Evangeline writing at her best. I can only beg and grovel for more! Absolutely love our strong female Kindred Sky’lar. She sexy and bold and never flighty! How can a Giant Kindred not be bowled over by her?! I’ve been begging for this couple for yrs and Evangeline didn’t let me down. Now I’m begging her for more!.

Captivating read with two Kindred working alongside each other, ripping read
This was a simply wonderful read and from someone that has read many, many titles by this wonderful author I loved the fact that there were two Kindred working alongside each other in their assignment, dangerous and quite possibly life threatening.
Special Agent Sky’lar is a Pitch Blood Kindred that has never before seen another of her kind so when she comes to work at the Peace Keeper Station she is surprised to find that she is expected to work alongside a male warrior which is something completely alien to her.
Commander Torin works for the Kindred Elite and he is renowned for his success rate however, the entity that has been killing Kindred Ambassadors is an unknown entity and he is willing to do whatever is required to capture this killer.
Sky is now the focal point for the killer and without a doubt if these Kindred should fail to capture their elusive murderer it will most definitely mean the end for Sky as this killer does not make mistakes. These two Kindred must work together to achieve their goal and without a doubt they are both totally focused on their assignment and will not fail…
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Sky had no emotions & boundaries should be respected

The scion murder mystery plot and bits of action were great. Evangeline’s always good for some creative and interesting world building and wacky situations and characters. But I really did not like Sky, which is disappointing as I was excited for a female kindred character.

Torin is a sexy, competent, gentle, giant whose feelings for Sky developed well. But Sky had zero emotions! As a rare female kindred who grew up, and lives, in a society that is so different from her biological predispositions, I was expecting her to have new experiences and grow with Torin, the first of her own kind she has met. Unfortunately, Sky is completely stuck in her ways and doesn’t even consider Torin’s feelings, boundaries, or culture.

The balancing and sharing of dominance in different situations, which I have grown to expect from Kindreds was missing. Sky thinks and acts more like a shallow controlling male character treating a female poorly and while I thought it was very interesting to examine how I felt reading that, I still closed the book feeling icky in the end.

Torin was forced into a situation by Sky that he was not ok with, before or after it happened, and Sky gaslights him because she doesn’t think it’s a big deal in her culture and therefore he should just get over it. Swapping traditional gender roles does NOT make this ok, nor does the fact that “he liked it”.

I like the idea of Misstress Mirbella having a own Kindred warrior to protect. I look forward to reading 📚 her book. I like the name too. I could deftntly see her story coming to life in my head with Misstress Mirbella having her panice room and I liked this idea in next book too. I like the tile of this book straight away. I liked the characters in the book Torin and Skylar very much. I did keep seeing in my head Skylar from your picture of the front of the book and a picture of the actress who play Sky in neighbours too standing together. I think I these in my Dad because of while I was reading 📚this book. After My Dad had died maybe this is why the idea's come to me in a dream.
I liked the idea of Commander Sylvan beening more in this book. I wanted to read more books 📚 with Slyen in them with Slyen beening a undercover police man like To run and Skylar are beening in this book. I liked the idea of Serpentine male's and Serpentine female's beening in this book. I like Naydia or Godness friend of Naydia's of beening in this book has the Serpentine and wanted more to read in this book about the serpentine.
I liked Chapter 27-30 about female's having one egg to pentrated my talking 👄out like Skylar did to try and resure to run and the Priestess too. I feel very strongly about they should been a book about the Prestiess.
I manage to be still read this book 📚very close to woman day March the 8th with chapter 42 to 46.
I liked all the chapters towards the end of the book very much. I looked forward to reading 📚 about Misstress Mirbella and her two warriors kindred. I liked the adventure with in this book. I liked Neeah too. I what a book about Neeah in the near , and her kindred warrior.

Loved it!

Yes!!

Another Kindred win, but this one is a little bit more important to me than just because it was a well written, pleasurable story. People like me don’t get much representation. It’s usually one way or the other. Standard or freak (vanilla or kink), but usually even in the land of freak (both written and real life) it’s one way or the other (Dom(me) or sub).

Not with Evangeline’s books. I love the freedom each character has, or finds, within each Kindred book. I think that’s why it one of my longest running favorite book series. With each new Kindred book the typical stereotypes and forced “norms” for sexual relationships and couple interactions get broken down and proven pointless, and, I’m so here for it!! #SwitchForLife!!

The physical, sexual, and emotional relationship between consenting adult individuals has no single box that fits every person, couple, or grouping. Everyone has different variations of desires and needs, both physical and emotional, that they(*) have the right to find and enjoy. (*Consenting Adults). No shame. No judgment. Just pleasure, passion, and, if you’re lucky, love. If you agree with that way of thinking, you’ll love this author and this series.

"Pierced:Brides of the Kindred Book 28" another wonderful story by the skillful author Evangeline Anderson. It can be read as a stand alone, the plot is creative and original. The characters have depth and their journey to each other is difficult and beautiful to read! Torin is a trained assassin and spy for the Kindred Elite Espionage group on the Kindred Mother ship. He is tracking a mysterious killer, who has been killing females specifically female Kindred Ambassadors which has led him to Portex Three. This planet has females in charge and Torin meets Sky'lar a Special Agent of the Peace Keepers. The inhabitants are mainly serpentine, she is the only rare Pitch-Blood Kindred and since childhood she was raised on this planet. One can imagine why she is not happy to be paired with an inferior male. LOL But, she is a bit curious because this is her first contact with another Kindred and a HOT, sexy one, at that! Evangeline Anderson takes us on a wonderful journey filled with suspense, mystery, non-stop action and a beautiful romantic, love story. Thank you Evangeline Anderson!

The main characters Torin and Sky are tasked with catching a serial killer. This story is non-stop action with great plot twists. Sky and Torin have smoking hot chemistry and make a great team.

Their journey to finding the killer also allows for some personal growth. Both characters have their world views challenged and expanded during their quest.

Pierced is a fun story with great characters. It’s a wonderful addition to the Brides of the Kindred series. Evangeline Anderson also lets readers know what she expects to write next, muse willing, at the end of the story.

There is a D/s theme throughout the story and the warning at the beginning is regarding the crime scenes. I personally didn’t have a problem with the scenes, but that doesn’t mean someone else won’t. The crime scenes are part of the story adding an element of horror, but they are not the whole story.

I received this ARC for an honest review.

Want to read something steamy and a bit different from the other kindred books? “Pierced” is the one.

I found Sky’lar refreshing as she’s a different and very very rare type of female kindred. If I had to pick, chapter 25 definitely is my favourite chapter in this book - She had me in stitches.

Torin, on the other hand, is the epitome of masculinity. Call me a masochist, but I loved the process of him accepting what happened between them during the ritual in front of the Mother of Serpents.

Overall, this is another well-written engaging paranormal romance novel that will appeal to fans of sci-fi and fantasy romance so, If you appreciate a steamy and suspenseful love story, you would definitely enjoy reading “Pierced”.

I can't get enough of the Kindred series. Each one bring a unique experiencing of adventure and among others things that's keeps you hooked from beginning to end. This one was great I especially loved that we finally got a female kindred who wasn't a priestess. I hope we get more in future books. Overall a great read. Pierced

Wow! This latest book was different from all the other books in this series because it involves a female Pitch Blood Kindred Peace Keeper on a planet inhabited by serpentine creatures with a little bit of human traits, where the females are larger and dominant. Sky'lar was brought here by her mother after her father was killed so that she would not be singled out because she was a rare female Pitch Blood Kindred. Very exciting and I loved the characters and surroundings descriptions.

The Cruel Father returns in one of his minions. The Cruel Father’s minion hunts down women and Sky’lar and Torin are tasked with finding the murderer. This book follows Ms. Anderson’s usual format although, in this story, Sky’lar takes on a more dominant role. It is an interesting take on the usual trope and I enjoyed it.

This installment of Kindred stories gives us a faced paced adventure to find out who's been murdering women of power. Our main characters have limited time to figure this out and while conducting their investigation become closer in many ways. As with all the Kindred, the males are protective of their women, and there are some seriously spicy moments where the two come together.

From the beginning, Sky'lar and Torin are two fascinating individuals that embark on a journey that is not only extremely dangerous but also life changing for both.
Rising above ingrained societal norms, Torin and Sky'lar find themselves in situations that will have them questioning everything.
A mind-altering romance that turns up the heat.
Read and be enlightened!.

This is a well written story. The characters, storyline and world building are excellent. There’s a trained assassin, a special agent, a race through space to find a serial killer, steamy scenes and more with a happily ever after ending. I was hooked from the start and enjoyed reading this story. I can’t wait for more by this author.

I absolutely loved this book soooo much. I love all of the authors books but i think this was definitely one of my favs. I really loved Sky’lar's story of how she was raised and how she acclimated to the changes she starts to encounter after meeting Torin. The story has so many good elements and the chemistry was off the charts. I can't wait for the next book!

Piercing

Once again, I am not surprised by this story. Finally get to see how different it is being a female kindred. Living separately from your own kind can be challenging but Sky shows that she’s up for the job. Being introduced to new a wonderful worlds and species with every new story is an A+ in my opinion.

Pretty good

The storyline was interesting; although Sky did get on my nerves with her dominatrix style sex stuff at first. It was exciting to have the All-Father’s influence inserted into the story, his scion is a piece of work. Looking forward to the audiobook and the next book in the series!

I still don't know if the Cruel Father is a good villain. The scion definitely was; pure evil and a tough challenge.
I enjoyed Torin introducing Sky to kindred ways. It was refreshing to meet a female kindred.
I left off half a star for my personal preferences: there were enough swear words to be annoying.

Great Book!

A female kindred with fangs who has grown up on a planet of serpentine people. A kindred warrior who is a hybrid is sent on a mission to try to catch a killer who has killed a number of prominent women on two different planets. You will have to read the book to find out what all happens. I can tell you that a lot takes place in this book.

Absolutely brilliant, I love how I. This book both parties never thought they would ever find love, and after being paired up to find a serial killer they both fall in love. I also live the fact that they are both kindred 😍
