Love doesn’t come into it when you are fighting a war and sometimes the best weapons are the most unexpected.
Flora
I ran from two monsters into the arms of another.
Domenico Ortega.
Mafia Prince
His dark good looks, brimming with masculine intensity, make my heart beat a little faster. The way he stares at me through those demonic eyes causes me to shiver, and it’s not out of fear. When he speaks, his voice is husky and laced with dangerous intent, and I crave every syllable. Then there’s his magnificent body that could crush a woman’s heart as well as a man’s soul, and I would gladly sacrifice my own to his.
Then I discovered the people I ran from are on his wanted list and he locked me in his mansion as part of a twisted revenge.
Fraud, dishonesty and theft aren’t the only things he wants from me.
He also wants my soul.
He’s not the only one.
It turns out he’s not the villain in my story after all.
There is something more sinister out there who hides behind sick rituals and blood-drenched altars.
Will my dark Prince come for me or will my story end unhappily ever after?
Buckle up for a dark, twisted ride of family secrets, lies, and revenge.
Somewhere in the middle of the mayhem, a love story grows from a very hard beginning.
»I fell in love with perfection, at least I thought I had, but I didn’t realize perfection comes from inside. You are perfect inside and out, which in my book equals everything I ever wanted in life.«

❥ 𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒓𝒂 She‘s weak and has literally no backbone at all. I understand that her past is traumatic and she has suffered a lot. But it doesn‘t make sense that she was attracted to Domenico who treats her like shit. Why? That‘s not relatable regarding her abusive past.
❥ 𝑫𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒐 What an asshole. He is blinded by rage and treats poor Flora very badly. He knows about her panic attacks and past but continues to scare her. Meeeeh didn‘t like him.
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 This story was not relatable or likeable at all. The idea was great though. The plot with Floras sister and her past was interesting but the implementation was bad. Domenico is unlikeable and changes his opinion more often than I change my socks. This guy has serious mood swings. Flora was weak (, a little bit dumb) and didn’t fight one single bit against Domenico. These characters were stressful and bad written. They feel flat. I couldn’t take this book serious because it‘s ridiculous and I got the feeling the author didn‘t have any plan what to write about. It feels messy and needs some corrections.
Dnf. The h is so weak, and the H is just a monster. Honestly there should be something to make it interesting but in the starting itself he is treating her like garbage without any logical reason. She's damm innocent and the thing is? The h is taking it all, like she has no backbone at all.
The story , FMC horrible. How is it that women are portrayed to be this pathetic? Dude was her sisters bed buddy whom she deceived. You are nothing more than her replacement . You are captured and all you can think about his kissing him? Wtf is your dignity ? Dumb
Wow! Flora and Dom were everything!!! You know they were going to be something special after the meet! Dom was everything that Flora needed. I loved them together. I couldn’t get enough! I’m so glad in the end it all worked out perfectly for them! Can’t wait to see what happens in the rest of this series.
Oh, Stella, your books are my absolute favorite. You give us the best Mafia stories, and we can't help but tear through them. Domenico is by far the strong fighter, and Flora is so amazing that she starts out so low, and I love her rise like a Phoenix to be by the side of this Mafia enforcer I cried, I laughed, and I absolutely loved every word in their incredible story.
this guy has serious mood swings and changes his opinion every two seconds, besides that the whole story that he was in love with her sister and that he kept comparing the two gave me the ick
I thought it could be what I wanted.. But it was so bleh.. It went so fast from I'm gonna use her to I love her.. Like for real.. God what the effin ef, this is not that dark. Also so Dian is her sister and still for this couple it ended but it will continue with the next brother. Like suddenly she doesn't matter anymore?! When in this book they terrorized her the entire time and suddenly it gets past to the next one.. Yep no not my cup!
Ortega What an amazing read, love the new storyline and the link to the previous series involving the explosion Malik set up. Will Dom and his brothers eventually get to find out about their sister Reading what our FMC Flora had to endure before she escaped brought tears to my eyes. Stella is so good at tugging on your heart strings with her words. Dom is a typical alpha male used to being obeyed, so he is furious at being duped by Diana, Floras older devious sister and wants to rent his furry on Flora. Love the way he charges his tune after only a short time with Flora where her goodness shines through. The secret society was a surprise, definitely want to see how this plays into our story. How does this involve Mario and Diana? They are both truly evil, feeding off each other,so looking forward to seeing them face the music eventually, I’m sure they’ll get up to even more deranged and devious activities before that happens tho. This book is red hot, so much spice, Flora and Dom are smoking hot together, so looking forward to seeing more of them in future books. Love the hook into the next book where Dom’s brother Matteo lures Abigail the girl Mario lusts after into being his girlfriend.

Stella is definitely the Queen of Darkness. A Dark, slightly disturbing, gritty, tense and altogether breathtaking story, with a passionate edge. This new series is going to blow you away.
Be warned there are some triggers: Forced imprisonment Abuse Rape (previously and off page) Violence Rough handling Gun & knife violence And some others
I reckon I’ve said it all there. Press the button, you wont regret it.
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
While I frequently enjoy a darker read, this author's style of writing wasn't for me unfortunately. The language choices were unnecessarily convoluted at times, probably highlighted a bit more because it was written in first person. The main characters, Dom and Flora, meet quickly, and from there the story seemed rushed as one unbelievable thing after another happened, stretching the plot a little too far (and since it's mafia trope, I'd given it some rope). The premise of the story revolves around Dom wanting revenge on Diana, Flora's sister, who he fell in love with only for her to screw around with his brothers before successfully setting her claws into their father. Diana was sent away by her father as a child after her mother was killed (in circumstances that kicked off the 'what the heck is going on now' train). Staying away from the life while her seemingly mentally unstable sister embraced danger and power, she's drawn into Dom's path after basically being pimped out for the night to a senator by her employer. Looking exactly like her sister, they're able to figure out who she is, which can I say, has massive ewww factor for me. He was in love with the sister, takes Flora for revenge and decides to keep her so he can use her as a play thing because she looks like the only woman he had ever loved while also falling in love with her? Huh.
The themes were laid on thick. Flora had had rough time growing up due to her cray-cray sister, being sold to men by her and her boyfriend and forced to sleep with them (so an obvious trigger warning here for abuse - there's also a bit of humiliation and kidnapping). She was a sad little thing, vulnerable and what I affectionately call too stupid to live for a lot of the book, making questionable life choices. Then there was Dom, taking her prisoner to make her life a misery (his words, not mine) while her voice shook and she failed to sound brave. This was followed by the 'I don't want to like him but he's just so gosh darn attractive and magnetic' trick, while Flora also spouted nonsense about whether or not he'd be as tender as she suspects he might be behind his harsh words and angry stares - spoiler alert, he was the big bad and then the big softie to the point where I was getting whiplash. I found a lot of their overtures humourous rather than smexy because they were laid on pretty thickly.
The writing style and plot line was a little too flowery and over the top for me, making the story confusing and unrealistic (which is okay to a degree since, hello, mafia, but it pushed the envelope a bit too far for my personal preference - other readers may love it :). It started off as unbelievable and then took a sharp turn into ridiculous. The dialogue was also punctuated in a really confusing way for the most part and a lot of the time I had to reread sections as I had no idea who had said what since Dom and Flora's sentences tended to flow over the top of each other. I finished the book without a sense of closure because apart from the relationship side of things, a lot was still in the air with questions unanswered. There seemed to be a secret society - I dunno, because I couldn't get fully into the story. I'm sure readers looking to escape will enjoy this, but it just wasn't for me.
I like dark, mafia, alpha romances. I mean all three of those are some of my favorite themes. So this started off promising - Domenico had his heartbroken by Diana. He sees Flora, Diana’s younger sister, and now he wants revenge and intends to take it out on Flora. Little does he know Flora has no love for her evil sister, and is nothing like her except in looks (which yes, is fucking creepy of Dom to then fall for Flora.)
But then things began to fall apart, at first it was whiplash; Dom saying he wanted to use Flora for revenge, but then having tender feelings for her, and that will cycle through repeatedly and often for a few chapters. So much so I started wondering if he had split personalities or if the author had some form of short-term memory loss and never rereads what she wrote before.
Then it was Flora saying she finally felt safe for the first time or finally felt like she was home for the first time. And I’m here wondering if I’m the one with a memory problem as I experienced deja vu because it happened over and over, like girl, you can’t keep saying that as it makes you sound stupid. Then there’s the story Flora tells Dom about how she got away from Diana. At first she says she escaped, ran to the convent where the nuns got money for her and sent her away to move far away and that’s how she ended up in Vegas. Later Flora tells an extended story of a girl OD-ing and how she stole that girl’s bag and money and went to the convent then used the money to get away. So the story changes and again I question why the author can’t keep her story straight as she writes it.
And where it fell apart more was when Don gets arrested for false charges. So Flora is at his supposedly super safe compound. And yet the detective makes it to the house before anyone knows. And convinces Flora and her guard, Max, to leave with him. And Max complies without checking in with the boss or with Pasquale. Like wtf!? That seems like Mafia Protocol 101, did Max not attend that class? What made man follows the orders of a policeman without ensuring what the boss wants. It just seems so dumb that it was so easy to take Flora off-site. Who let the detective into the mansion in the first place? I mean considering who Dom is you’d think his employees wouldn’t allow the popo into the property let alone the mansion without alerting the boss. It’s not like the detective had a search warrant. The fact that this was so easily done made the book even weaker than all the memory slips the author had with her writing.
You know, I could get behind Flora being exceptionally weak and crazily messed up when it comes to her emotions because of her past trauma, and I could deal with Dom being a ginormous asshole to her switching it on-and-off on a whim. I could even deal with their psycho insta-love where just like Flora, I was skeptical of Dom’s feelings towards her too. But the fact that the author wrote such a confusing story and didn’t seem to know what she was writing coupled with super shitty mafia characters, I just didn’t like it as much as I thought I would at the start. Disappointing. I might read Matteo’s book only out of pure torturous curiosity of if the author gets better or if the story will be just as repetitive and weak.
This wasn't a bad story, but it could have been so much better.
First, this was one that, at times, just didn't hold my interest. (There were actually a couple of times when I stopped and read another book in between). The story premise was a good one, but some things didn't make sense. Like after the MFC is rescued; while in captivity she's burned with hot wax all over the front of her body, her back is whipped raw, and she's burned with hot pokers, yet when she's rescued and taken home, there's no doctor, no one seeing to her wounds. Nope! Instead, she's shagged, then given a hot bath. Just a good fu***** and a bath. Really?
The MMC is supposed to be this smart badass. He was originally an enforcer for his family, but the brothers had a falling out and they are all estranged from each other and their father, who was head of the Ortega crime family but has recently died. The deranged Stepmom (who is also the MFC's sister) and her Boyfriend are trying to seize control. The boyfriend is consantly depicted as nothing more and no better than a street thug; good only for selling drugs and hookers on the street. Yet he and the deranged sister/stepmom seem to always be one step ahead until the very end. And that brings me to another point, the real villains in this story, sister/stepmom, her boyfriend and others, are still not dealt with. Apparently it continues in the next book (which I likely won't be reading).
Loved the MFC, mafia daughter, who was a meek, scared mouse (partly to do with her history and sister) and wants nothing to do with the crime families grows to become a bold, brave woman who owns her heritage! While the MMC starts out badass, he seems to be bested by his enemies too often, but eventual redeems himself. But since this is a series, it leaves you with too many loose ends. 3.5 stars.
Full of twists and turns, gripping from start to finish. Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 February 2023 I love all the books written by Stella Andrews and after finishing the last one by her, I have been desperately trying to find another ‘good book’ to read.
At long last The Enforcer was released and it didn’t disappoint.
Flora, the sister of Diana was made to attend a high society party by her employer or risk being sacked. She did so fearing what events may be taking place and trying to formulate a plan to escape as soon as she could.
The party was hosted by Dom, the enforcer, who had previously been besotted by Diana until his love turned to hate. It was brought to his attention that Flora was in attendance and he decided to meet and capture Flora and make her pay for her sister’s sins.
Dom met Flora as he intended and took her to his room, where it became clear quite quickly that although she looked like Diana, she was nothing like her.
Dom and Flora go on a trail of revelations that bring them together, I don’t want to say much about it as it needs to be discovered first hand by the reader.
Suffice to say, Dom makes contact with his estranged brothers and this book opens up to book 2, which I’m sure will be equally intriguing.
What a wonderful book, I intend to read it again, just to savour it.
Ok here we go. This book was a real struggle for me to want to finish. Let's start at the beginning shall we. The whole back & forth by both is so irritating that I had to force myself to read through. He kept saying how she reminded him of her sister. She kept thinking she needed to find a way to escape. However, within the same breath they both "desired" them. Not even kidding. Same paragraph just the next sentence. I'm seriously concerned whether or not the author is bipolar? Next you're telling me that he was able to set aside his differences & that he loves her!?! Um, what!?! When did we pass go & collect $200? Next you're telling me after her being held captive, she wants, in a nice way, to be intimate!? She was burned & whipped! He throws her up against a wall & that doesn't hurt!?! Never mind the burn on her leg & all she needs is a cup of tea!? Lastly, after she's rescued she loves him now too? Uh, maybe but then you throw in that she knew it, she just needed to realise it? Or put a name to her feelings? Give me a break! Think it's safe to say, I would not recommend. The 2 stars are because this could have been great. I will not be continuing on. Read if you must but don't say I didn't warn you. On to the next!!!
I don't usually give the 5-star rating to books that have typo errors; but I have to say, 'F' that! It is too freaking incredible! The Enforcer starts a three round series based on revenge, retribution and retaliation. Along the way, the dark, mafia, bad boys will find their lady loves somewhere mixed up in all the trouble. These women will tame these mafia beasts into big, dangerous cats who purr when petted in a certain way. I'm thoroughly anticipating the danger and excitement to come.
Domenico starts the show with a bang. His love has a backstory not for the faint of heart, including manipulation, beatings and sexual assault. She is first his prisoner, then his pet and finally his partner. Their chemistry is explosive! This story has twists and turns like a rollercoaster.
Interestingly, many of Ms. Andrews series are interconnected. Stray guest appearances in one series will pop up in another with a story of their own, so stay on the lookout for easter eggs. I've greedily wishlisted all the books from Andrews web page and requested all the freebies she has online, as well as signing up for her newsletter. I want to wallow in her works and dive into the next one in this series, like a piglet in mud slop.
This dark mafia romance which is a spinoff of the Club Mafia series, is proving to be just as good as the books from that series! Domenico Ortega is one of the three brothers of the Ortega mafia family. Dom is called the enforcer. He is ruthless, angry, aggressive and emotionally damaged. When he realizes that Flora Corlietti has entered his home, he decides to use her to punish her sister, Diana, who is also Dom's step-mother. Diana is an evil and formidable enemy. Flora is nothing like her sister, she is kind and sweet with a tragic past. Initially, Flora is frightened by Dom but finds him extremely attractive. There is intense desire and hot and steamy scenes. The story also includes anger, revenge, retribution, heart pounding scenes, and gripping plotlines which kept my attention. I loved Dom and Flora's story. I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting! I am so looking forward to reading Matteo's story in "The Consigliere". I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I voluntarily reviewed "ORTEGA MAFIA THE ENFORCER" I thoroughly enjoyed this story from start to finish with emotional turmoil, dark twisted family secrets, suspense, intrigue, angst, steam, violence, revenge, twists that has you turning the pages. Domenico Ortego is the enforcer for the Ortego Mafia with three estranged brothers he gorgeous, ruthless, damaged emotionally, trying to keep his Diane Cortietti an evil enemy & his step mother & her power hungry boyfriend from going after his family. Flora is Diana's sister who she doesn't have anything to with, when she enters Dom home he meets her they end up in his room he realizes she's nothing like Diana she sweet, kind & has had a tragic past he convinces her to help him take her down. I definitely recommend to get this interesting, intense drama you can't put down things aren't what they seem putting Dom & Flora in danger so he needs the help of his estranged brothers, its a must read you don't want to miss. I'm looking forward to "THE Consigliere" which is Mateo's story next.
Dom Ortega is trying to keep his "Family" out of the clutches of his stepmother. Flora the younger sister of said Stepmother has distanced herself from her sister after years of abuse at her hand. Flora finds herself in the sights of the Mafia boss who decides she is the perfect answer his problems. He will use Flora to bring down her sister and prevent her gaining control over him and his brothers. The plan seems like a perfect answer to all of Dom's problems until he realises all is not as it seems with Flora and her history with her sister. As his view of Flora softens he persuades her to help him bring down her sister and her power hungry boyfriend. As the plan is slowly put into action it becomes obvious that there are darker forces in play here and it suddenly becomes a race to save both themselves and the estranged brothers Dom is forced to ask for help. This is yet again a book from Stella that has you hooked from the start and by the end wishing you didn't have to wait for the next one. Stella writes Mafia like no one else. This is another great read and I can't wait to get hold of the next in line.
The next great addition and dark mafia addiction to read by an amazing writer. Ortega mafia is the first book in a new spin off to the Club Mafia series. This first book focuses on Domenico Ortega and his main objective of revenge and to resolve this issue he must defend his family from his stepmother, Diana. Through his search and aim to meet his goal he comes to find Diana’s sister Flora, but overall, she is a security net for Diana’s objective. Will there be a resolution and win by the Ortega man we will have to wait and see what happens through the remaining books of the series. Beware there are some triggers, so read at your own discretion. If you have not read her books before and like dark and action-packed mafia stories, Stella Andrews is a number 1 choice.

Ortega Mafia book 1. So twisty. So dark and yet hopeful. Domenico Ortega, the enforcer for the Ortega family. A family full of lies, betrayal and mistrust but family nonetheless. Flora is the sister of the woman who tore through the family like a hurricane. Domenico sets a plan in motion full of revenge, hate and pain. He finds out that Flora did not escape the evilness that her sister and cohort love to give out. Flora's sister tore through her life like a natural disaster. The destruction her sister left was insurmountable. Domenico and Flora fall for each other as they battle the evil duo and then some. And let me say, they are some of the most demented evil duo I've ever read in a long time. This book is gritty, dramatic, angsty and gut wrenching. It's also seriously hot, sexy with some crazy ish and oh so tingle worthiness.
Very DARK & ADDICTIVE series. The Enforcer known as Domenico Ortega is someone you don’t want to cross in every sense. He’s a broken soul with incredible strength both in body and mind seeking one thing “revenge.” This is book 1 in the Ortega Mafia series, the mafia world where everything is permitted; deceit, murder, kidnapping, torture, betrayal , extremely abusive behavioural, non consensual sex and so much more. However, Domenico’s obsession with revenge will bring him something he never thought he’d really find and have. This book will keep you reading on the edge of your seat, filled with action. If you read and enjoyed Club Mafia series by this amazing author, like I did, you’re absolutely going to love this one! A definite read, 5 stars ⭐️ 🌟🌟🌟🌟all the way!
This book kicks off this new series in the perfect way, and trust me, I am hooked. Darkness, intensity, juicy drama, raw emotions, tantalizing twists, exquisite tension and seductive steam, are skillfully woven into a storyline It captures your attention and does not let go. Domenico and Flora were great characters that were enticing and complex. I thought they made an irresistible pairing that quickly has you invested, rooting for them and feeling all the feels. I'm independently posting an impartial review.
As always Stella Andrews does not disappoint in this new series, Ortega Mafia is a dark mafia story which is a spin off of Club Mafia. This is Domenico Ortega – The Enforcer’s story. He is trying to protect his family from the evil stepmother by his plan of revenge when he finds the sister, Flora, of the stepmother. But things don’t go as planned. There is darkness, abuse, torture, murder, lots of tension and lots of steamy scenes. I am looking forward to the next book The Consigliere – Matteo’s story. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.
Ortega Mafia is the first book of this series, and it does not disappoint. It starts out with action-packed drama and continues to the very end. Flora is an innocent caught up in the evil games played by her sister. She connects with Dom who at first thinks that she is Diana but realizes that she is collateral in Diana's evil game. When the dust clears, and all the hands are laid down will the Ortega's be victorious.

Ugh, I wanted to love this so much more! I loved Domenico so much; he is the perfect dark hero/villain. Flora is just awful. If you have read any of Stella Andrews's books, you may remember a sister duo that started as an enemy that returned to a sister relationship after their stories. No spoilers here, but both of that h had strength and growth. The h in this book is weak. She is just a doormat with no backbone. I get that she was supposed to be sunshine to the H's grumpy, but it didn't come off as sunshine to me. 3.5 Stars
This story has an powerful storyline of death, deceit, betrayal, with extremely disturbing scenes. This is not a easy read - so be warned!
I have read my fair share of mafia stories and Ortega Mafia - The Enforcer is a cut above. It tells the story of Flora and her trauma filled life at the hands of her sister, Diana, and their stepbrother Mario.
It takes a fateful night for Flora and her introduction to Dom to change her life forever.
You cry and cheer for Flora while hating and loving Dom in this story as they battle against the evil in their world.
I yearned for the story to just work out because the underlining plot was so great but it didn't.
The story began pretty great actually, it had my engagement but as I move forward with the plot, I became more and more disconnected from it.
The whole story has left me confused overall, especially Dom's character. The mere personality Split of this person within seconds was indeed incoherent.
Though I'm glad I was able to finish the story, it was certainly not for me.
Ortega Mafia by Stella Andrews is the First book in the Ortega Mafia Series. This is the story of Flora and Dom. Flora has been abused by her family for a while but has tried to distance from them. When she is forced to attend an event it puts her in the site of Dom. Dom had been enemies with benefits of sorts with Diana who is Flora's sister. When Diana tricked him he seeks to get revenge and uses Flora thinking she is as bad as her sister but he starts to learn Flor is the total opposite.
This is a good dark mafiosa book with a good storyline and interesting characters. Domenico Ortega is a strong powerful Mafia leader with a past that is haunting him especially his so called step mother Diana whom he has vowed to bring down she has played him, his brothers and father and for a time he believed he loved her but as the truth came out that turned to hatred. Her sister Flora falls into his lap and he intends to use her to defeat Diana but she works her way to his heart and everything becomes different. A really enjoyable read.
