This collection is really raw and honest. I love this author’s writer’s voice and these poems made me even more eager to read her fiction.

This collection is plentiful and some of the poems are dense — I read this in one sitting but I actually think it would be much better absorbed with breaks in between. I have a feeling I will come back to revisit some of them with fresh eyes.

Absolutely loved The Power of Love poetic story at the end of the book!

If you want fluffy puppies, this isn't the one for you. However, if you want to explore the raw and honest emotions of a poet who isn't afraid to let her demons shine, you have come to the right book. Julie Anne Addicott is, without question, one of the best poets our generation has. She knows what it's like to survive the darkness of loss and depression, and through her eloquently written poetry, you will find your way to the light in your own soul. Where My Demons Hide is a must read for real poetry lovers.

This was a collection of very heavy and depressing thoughts. It weighed heavy on me and broke my heart from start to finish.
