Cape Cod: The Heart and Soul Beyond the Beach

Rate this book
Since the second half of the nineteenth century, Cape Cod has been a vacation destination. Generations of people have made memories there. It has been, and still is, known for its hundreds of miles of pristine beaches. These beloved sandy sanctuaries carry names like Nauset, Craigville, Coast Guard, Sandy Neck, Race Point, and many more. Beyond the beautiful beaches of Cape Cod, there is so much more to see. These places comprise the heart and soul of a place many are lucky to call home and thousands flock to visit annually.

Inside the pages of this book many of these unique places of natural and historical significance will be showcased. Quaint shopping areas, iconic businesses, and out-of-the-way gems only begin to scratch the surface of what Cape Cod offers. There will be room to feature the well-known spots as well. Enjoy some beautiful photography of Cape Cod beyond just the beaches—although they are in here, too.

I have been painting worlds with words since 1996. I started writing song lyrics and poetry although my musical skill is quite limited. My first short story, Eight Hours, was originally a screenplay submitted for a contest. Afterwords I rewrote it to make it better suited as a book.
I have been told by some to find a genre and stick to it but I enjoy writing all types of books as is obvious by my titles and subjects I have put out thus far. I have three children's books, a pair of poetry books, and a photography book which incorporates my poetry as well.
I truly enjoy travel writing and this has resulted in my first hardcover book detailing all of Cape Cod being released Fall 2013. In My Footsteps: A Cape Cod Travel Guide has been positively reviewed in the Cape Cod Times and Boston Globe.
My travel blog has concentrated on my home region of New England thus far and is entitled In My Footsteps which is featured on such sites as Cape Cod Today, Plymouth Daily News, and All Things New England. I am trying my best to balance my books and travel writing since I truly love doing both. It is said that if you do what you love you never work a day in your life, and that is how I feel when I am writing books or traveling around New England.
Besides writing I love photography and running. I have completed numerous races including my first marathon in October 2012. I started running in 2011 at age 33 and am living proof that anything is possible. Thank you all for taking the time to learn a little about me.
