When opposites attract, falling in love can feel like a Wild Goose Chase. I know it’s wrong to check out my best friend’s twin brother. It’s definitely against the bro code to shove my tongue down his throat. Screw it, one little passionate, sun soaked, all-consuming fling won’t hurt anything. Will it?
Pete doesn’t think he’s fit for island life, but he doesn’t know Palm Island like I do. He might think it’s all drinking on the beach and bed hopping, but maybe if I can show him the beauty and freedom underneath it all, he might decide to stay. He came for a visit, to escape a bad breakup and a life that’s been closing in on him, but the island doesn’t lure anyone in on accident.
He might be all wrong for me; too careful, too neat, too structured. But I can’t seem to keep my hands off of him. Maybe I could use a little more structure in my life, and maybe Pete could use some chaos.
Will this fling wash away with the rising tide of spring or could this turn into the real thing?
*** This is a LOW ANGST, opposites attract, best friend's twin brother, super swoony and steamy M/M romance full of found family, island shenanigans, and beachy fun.
K.M.Neuhold has long since been a romance junkie. When she’s not writing she’s reading or spending time snuggling with her husky or her husband. She fell in love with M/M romance last year and hasn’t been able to turn back. There’s nothing she loves more than love in all its forms.
3.5 stars - The books in this series make me want to quit my job, pack my bags and start a new life in some sleepy coastal town. Maybe I can learn to make soap too!😂 Goose and Pete were so cute together. Very yin and yang, but it worked. I was looking for an easy romance to read outside now that it's no longer stiflingly hot and this book fit the bill. Two adorable MC's. No tragic backstories. No 3rd act break up. Very low angst. Gobs of found family vibes. Simple, steamy and sweet - no thinking necessary. And I will never look at a spatula the same again.😳
Goose and Pete were really cute together and I think they felt like the most believable, natural pairing of the series so far. There were no crazy antics and no angst or misunderstandings which was refreshing!
I'm so ready for Lux and Easy, and Raven, Angel and Devil! I'm also hoping for Lyric to finally get his own story because he's really grown on me, and for Bambi and Ten to finally come back.
I don't know exactly what it was about this one but it just grabbed me from the start.
Maybe it's the idea that someone like Pete, who's spent his life having to watch other people judge him for his quirks, can find their perfect partner.
Or perhaps it's just the wonderful way he slowly unfurls like a flower in the sun as he's able to relax with Goose from the moment they meet.
This one might be one of my favorites of the series. Goose and Pete are great for each other.
You need to go in to this series knowing you aren’t getting depth or anything ground breaking, just a nice easy read transporting you to a sexy tropical oasis! And right now that is just what I need! Haha
- best friend’s brother - opposites attract - low angst & high steamy
What was just meant to be a visit to Palm Island to see his brother Hennessy after a breakup with his long time boyfriend, turns into more when Pete meets his match in chaotic and carefree Goose.
Goose is the kindest, funniest man Pete has ever met. He never judges him for his OCD and grounds him in a way he never thought anyone could. Goose brings out a confidence in Pete that he’s always lacked, and being with Goose feels like home.
Their story is probably my favorite out of all of the couples so far—it’s just so sweet and adorable! Really looking forward to Easy & Lux’s story next!
Palm Island has a hold of my heart and it feels like a giant warm, squishy hug. It’s the best reading this series, laughing with old friends, and watching new ones fall in love. Is it the magic of the island, or is it Harold matchmaking? We may never know and I adore it all!
Goose and Pete, who I have to say has an apt nickname, are absolutely perfect for each other. Pete brings out Goose’s nurturing side and Goose introduces the exact right amount of messy in Pete’s life.
“You make me feel like someone else.” “Someone you’re not?” His eyebrows knit together and his hold on me loosens for a second. I shake my head. “Like someone I always wanted the confidence to be.”
Gah, I love how seamless these two are together. From the first, they’re drawn to one another and have a way that gets right to heart of who they really are. Their chemistry is fire, their connection is pure bliss, and their love is irresistible swooniness. I went to sleep with the biggest smile on my face and in my heart because of Goose and Pete, and woke up the same. This series, the people—and I am sooo ready for the next book—and Palm Island leave me giddy and swimming in love.
Hennessy twin Pete shows up unannounced at the end of the last book. He needed to get away from his life and what a better place to go to than Palm Island and visit his brother? Goose and Hennessy are best friends so of course Goose keeps an eye on Pete. That’s it, no other reason…no really he swears.
When does Lyric get a book? And what about Raven, Angel, and Devil? I love them all and I need to read what Harold has in store for them
This is the perfect series to read when you’re looking for fun, easy, low-angst, beachy stories! They could be read as standalone but definitely recommend all of them as they’ve all been great. I loved that this one had a someone new to the island as an MC even if they did already have a connection!
Pete was a great, complex character. I loved how right from the start Goose understood him and what he needed and was totally on board with it. Actually the way all the characters adopted him right in was wonderful! Goose was awesome and I loved them together so much.
I look forward to seeing them as side characters in the next books. I’m very intrigued for the next book and have it on hand already for the next time I need the men of this island to get me through a tough day!
This actually might be my favorite of the series so far. Pete and Goose were just lovely together. The way that Pete changes so much but is still the same is amazing. Neuhold does a great job showcasing that we can change certain aspects of who we are, grow into better people even, but still maintain the core of who we are.
Taking a vacation from his life, Pete lands on Palm Island basically rudderless. He just needs a complete overhaul. He’s tired of his life, tired of the same routine and tired of himself. With his brother Hen by his side, he learns that there is more to him than he was giving himself credit for. Goose is the perfect distraction. I loved the passion they had together. Pete really was a toppy top, though I wish we would have seen Goose get his chance to top as well. I adored the way Goose looked out for Pete. He didn’t get annoyed by Pete’s quirks and even went out of his way to accommodate them.
There were several laugh out loud moments in this book for me, as well as plenty of awww moments. I loved these two together and was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful their story was.
★★★★½ STARS!! It was so much fun to be back on Palm Island with all these sexy guys and magic carousels. I'm in love with Goose and Pete. They were surprisingly the opposite of what I was expecting. They were so much better. I love how supportive and friendly everyone is when Pete shows up. I felt so sad for him for why he ended up running to the Island.
Everyone just welcomes him with open arms. His brother is ecstatic to have his brother around and Goose.....*sigh* Goose is fucking swoony AF! I love how he just let Pete be Pete but at the same time nudges him out of his comfort zone. It was really sweet and very sexy seeing their relationship develop.
I absolutely love this series. The found family is awesome and the ribbing and teasing is so much fun. I love that the past couples are still involved and we get to see all the growth, love is shenanigans. This was definitely a great read. Love the chemistry between Goose and Pete. Can't wait to read the rest of the guys stories.
Aww Goose and Pete were so sweet together!! This story fell so perfectly into the easy going low angst island that KM has created. As always the characters feel so real it’s hard to remember there isn’t a palm island filled with quirky hot men who love each other fully and without judgement.
Following along as Pete found his place was so satisfying! He and Goose really balanced each other in all the right ways. These two were steamy and sweet with tons of banter and chemistry that had me laughing just as often as I was swooning.
What a tease KM is with that last chapter though! I have been waiting for Easy’s story because I am a sucker for the playboy who falls hard and I got the idea that he and Lux were going to have their own secrets to reveal but ohh. My god I’m gunna need the next book asap because I have questions and I reallyyyyyyy need to know!
Overall I was extremely happy to be back on one of my favorite islands with a cast of characters who aren’t perfect but somehow fit into a found family that shines so bright you can’t help but fall in love! Another killer love story from KM Neuhold!!!
There is something about Kyleen's books that just checks every box for me. Lighthearted, funny, sweet, and sexy. I cannot get enough of them and this one was NO different. Pete, our shy recluse, and Goose, our easy going islander. I loved them so much. Goose really didn't give Pete 1 inch when it came to things but it was never in a bad way. Goose really helped Pete find his true self through the sweetest ways. I loved the fun, flirty relationship that happened between these two, their complete acceptance to be needy when they felt like and they never lacked communication which I cannot get enough of in books. I adore everyone on this island and I really wish it was real so I could hang out with everyone. I am excited for the next!
While I really liked this book, it didn't grip me like Ten or Storm . Not to say it's not a good or entertaining read, I liked Pete and I was excited for Goose's book! The way he was so kind and patient with a obviously anxious and ocd Pete was very sweet and the secondary characters were a joy as usual, my only real issue with this book ( and it's a tiny one) is that Pete being nervous and anxious didn't translate at all to their sex life where he is a confident, experienced and kinky top, I would have liked to have seen Pete grow into that role instead of just being a great top/slighty Dom from the beginning. Otherwise I can't wait for the next one which is FINALLY going to be Easy & Lux story. So excited for this. ❤️
Goose is Hen's best friend on the island. He is charming, fun, and likes to have a good time. He changes his hair color on whims, he left a career to be an island boy and make scented soap, and he is unapologetically himself.
Pete is Hen's twin brother who uncharacteristically has decided to make an impromptu visit from Wisconsin to Palm Island to get away from his humdrum life that has been closing in on him after a bad breakup. He is wound-tight, structured, anxious, and has always made safe and boring choices. His OCD and anxiety make him feel like he does not belong anywhere.
But from the first moment they meet, Mr. Control and Mr. Chaos just seem to vibe and understand each other. Goose is surprisingly understanding and supportive of Pete's habits and quirks. He pushes Pete to try things out of his comfort zone. And Pete just seems to make Goose happy and excited. Goose is a bit oblivious and sets out to try to make Pete stay for his brother's benefit. But deep down he just wants him to stay, even if he is afraid to admit it.
I enjoyed their island adventures, camaraderie, and rapport. It was fun to see Pete come alive on the island and find himself and acceptance. And Goose is such a sweet and thoughtful tour guide. Their chemistry is off the charts and there is just this connection that they cannot really explain but just is.
But is it just a vacation fling or can it be more?
This is a sweet, sexy, opposites-attract, best friend's brother, new roommates, island romance. It brings back all of the crazy island characters to add drama, fun, and love. I am looking forward to more especially Easy and I hope Lux, and Raven with the setup I think might be coming.
This book was great! I loved Pete and Goose and being able to go back to Palm Island!!
Pete was a mess when he came to the island, he was stuck in a rut, unhappy, and getting it off a crappy relationship. Goose was getting tired of the single, bed hopping scene, especially since his friends were all coupling up.
What started as a rebound fling became something more because they made sure to have the friendship aspect in the forefront! They had great communication and their relationship evolved seemlesly. The group welcomed Pete from day one and I loved being able to catch up with all the couples.
I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT FOR LUXE AND EASY NEXT 😍😍😍😍😍
This is a very enjoyable opposites attract low angst romance set on Palm Island during the off season. Pete arrives on the island after a breakup so he can regroup and spend some time with his twin brother. He lives a very structured life and never really let’s go. Goose is an island resident who is very easy going and somewhat chaotic. Circumstances have these two wonderful men crossing each other’s path and there’s attraction from the very beginning which soon morphs into some very steamy times.
I loved watching Pete’s metamorphosis into the man he always wanted to be. His anxiety and OCD tendencies are written in a very sympathetic manner by the author and are not magically fixed. The Island soon captures Pete’s heart and he wholeheartedly embraces Island life and a life with Goose. The found family characters from previous books are all there to join in the fun and I was left with a big smile on my face at the end of the book. We also get a glimpse of two new residents and a sneak peak at the next couples story. This is a very engaging book/series and I look forward to more.
I absolutely love being on this island. I just love how perfect Pete and Goose are together! Goose makes Pete feel normal and it just gave me all the feels. KM Neuhold is always making me fall in love with these characters and want more of this world. I can't wait for the next story!
OMG what a great book!!! Goose finally gets a HEA.
This is book 4 in the Palm Island series. It's good to be back on the Island. It was a quieter Palm Island, since it's off-season, but the perfect time for the romance between Peter (RePete) and Goose to bloom. It will be interesting to see how Peter fares after the off-season is over.
We finally learn who wrote down each secret during the poker game. I didn't have them all correct, dang it!
We still have some single guys needing HEAs, there's Easy, Lux, Lyric, and Raven. I loved that sneaky second epilogue that Kyleen threw in, can't wait to see what happens next...
1st person dual POV, opposites attract, low angst, high smoldering heat.
I was so excited to finally get around to reading about Goose and Pete. After seeing a small glimpse of Pete and following along with Goose the last three books I was super excited to finally get around to their story.
I loved that the book opens up to where we last saw them at the end of Dirty Trick and it just flowed really flawlessly. I really loved the moment that Goose meets Pete for the first time and realizing that he wasn’t his best friend Hen and it was a completely different person. That was a really fun scene.
I liked the conflict and struggles that Goose goes through with his attraction and feelings towards Pete. It’s realistic and I liked that he was wondering why he never saw his best friend like that but it’s completely different with Pete when both him and Hennessy look so much alike and then realizing that even though they look very similar they are two different people and do have different aspects of their appearance and personality that makes them different and uniquely themselves.
I really loved the opposite attract trope in this book. I loved that Pete is more uptight and doesn’t know how to just let loose and enjoy life and have fun and here comes Goose helping him live in the moment and enjoy what life gives him. While also he gives Goose more of a foundation and stability that he hasn’t had before. They balance each other out beautifully in my opinion.
I love how accepting and understanding Goose is towards Pete and some of his quirks that make him, him. And doesn’t judge him for it and just loves him for himself. Seeing Goose do so many small but big things for Pete and just embrace him fully and never make him feel bad for the quirks that he has.
Like I’ve said in the last three reviews for the books in this series about when it comes to Devil, Angel, and Raven. I loved that we see more of them slowly throughout the series and very obviously see that things are happening between all of them but not knowing everything but enjoying the slow build up for them. We get little bit and pieces throughout the series and I’m slowly falling more in love with them with each and every book.
Overall I really liked how everything just plays out so well and effortlessly that nothing is drawn out and it’s just the perfect amount of low angst. I love that we get to still see and hear about Ten and Bambi and everything that’s going on with them. I wasn’t sure how Hennessy would react when finding out about Pete and Goose but it was dealt with very sweetly and it was well handled. I’m still enjoying the island myths and everything that happens there.
I’m one more book away from being able to read about Devil, Angel, and Raven and I’m super excited to be getting closer but also can’t wait to finally see stuff happen between Easy and Lux next. I swear I see a few more books in this series happening due to all the fresh new guys on the island and I really hope we see Lyric get his own book soon also.
I don't know how but with each Palm Island book KM gets better. It's our favorite up for anything rainbow haired bestie to find his happiness. When Hennessey twin brother, Pete, comes to visit Palm Island he doesn't expect to find acceptance, love and and happiness but Palm Island had its ways of bringing queer men in and giving them everything the need for their true Happiness. Goose and Pete are so sweet for each other and better yet to accepting of each other's more unique attributes. I knew I would love Goose but wow he is the most amazing soul in making Pete comfortable and content. Highly recommend and cannot wait for the next couple to come from my favorite queer island.
I. Love. It. Pete's growth is amazing. I really appreciated how he boosts his self confidence, how he achieves all those little results that didn't feel so little at all. And Goose, our fabulous Goose. His easy going attitude hides a big heart. He helps Pete in his own, unique, funny way. I always enjoy a KM Neuhold book. Her stories make me laugh, are sweet, super sexy, and cheer me up. Also, that reference cracked me up. And now I want a crossover 😉 The epilogues in this series are perfect. They give us a glimpse in the next book. We get to read about an ace character maybe? I really hope so. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
