A must buy for every actor

The book "Casting Call" by Shruti Dutt is an excellent guide for aspiring actors, covering 38+ questions from a casting director's perspective. I found the book to be engaging and well-structured, with the author presenting the information in a concise and straightforward manner. It's a must-read for anyone who is serious about pursuing a career in acting.

One of the things I appreciated most about the book is the way that the questions are answered. They are to the point and give a fair and conclusive idea of what actors need to know. I also appreciated that the author wasn't trying to sell anything but instead gave practical advice from her experience as a casting director.

The book covers a range of topics, from how to start off as an actor, to managing finances, to giving effective self-tests. The questions presented in the book are not only relevant to freshers but also to experienced actors. They cover how to approach casting directors, how to send profiles, and what casting directors expect from actors and the list continues

Overall, I highly recommend "Casting Call" by Shruti Dutt to anyone interested in pursuing a career in acting. The book's clear and concise information will make a significant impact in helping actors carve out their journeys in a much clearer and better way

I personally feel I have been unburdened a lot and don't need to find references and seek opinions from people because the book is a one stop destination for all my queries and worries! Kudos

As an aspiring actor who has done a few projects here and there, MAN.. IF I HAD THIS BOOK WHEN I STARTED, I WOULD’VE SAVED MYSELF A LOT OF TIME,MONEY AND EMOTIONAL TRAUMA.
Nevertheless I think this book is really a simple guide as to what exactly happens when someone decides they want to be an actor. The challenges one needs to face, financial, mental ,physical aspects of acting.
We know that this particular field is the toughest and you need to be headstrong to actually get into it and try to sustain in it. The good part about the book was, it never discourages you, yes it is scary but isn’t life scary anyway?

The simple questions like how to approach a casting director or what do they expect from an actor to even making a social presence on apps like Instagram.
This book has given it all, I think anyone who wants to get into acting has GOOGLED the questions mentioned in the book, so what this book has done beautifully is answer these questions to someone who might not be from Mumbai and still would be aware of the basics when it comes to entering the industry.

If you are someone who has been in the field since years and know how this works, yeah it might not offer a lot to you, but it will SURELY remind you of the basics which we tend to forget. Overall, good book, simple easy language to read and understand.
If anyone would ask me anything about acting, I might just gift them this book :p, saves me a lot of time and explanation.
