'Fight, survive again, and I think your owner will continue to back you. Or don't and you can leave. You'd be in separate bags of course. They usually burn the remains.'
Cassie left her constrained life in England for a brighter future in Europe, but now she's a captive of the Complex, trapped in a small cage with a collar around her throat, given artificial strength and forced to battle for her life.
Her hope and humanity can only last so long in this new world of violence and isolation, and she's turning into one of the dangerous animals she must fight. But when she finds a saviour for her soul, Cassie will have to face up to the trauma she has endured and the horror she has caused.
The Killing Complex is a fast-paced survival thriller and the first book in the Killing Saga.
If they treat you like a monster... how long until you become one?
Ok first, reading this book was confusing sometimes with her memories and dreams but reasonably ok to read
Second,This book is actually so original like i haven’t ever read a book like this and i actually loved it like for e.g teen murder books are basically copy and paste but this book is so different.
Third, Thomas made me cry i love him so much and i really hope they get to see eachother in the next book or i will act kms. He’s so adorable and the thoughts of him dying would make me cry
Final, tbf i did get a bit annoyed how i kept repeating itself but somehow the writing just made me keep reading. Was surprised they didn’t SA her at all like wow unexpected fr.Her attempts of escaping made my heart race.
Over all absolutely loved this book.

Without giving them away, there are a couple of very effective twists here, which I did not see coming – and, indeed, I defy anyone to say they did. The first is something of a cheat, considering how much of the time to that point has been Cassie’s internal monologue, and this has carefully hid a key piece of information. But the second works particularly well, because it demonstrates that the bad guys here aren’t stupid: Carrie is going to need to do more than bludgeon her way out. Good though she certainly is at that, as is proven repeatedly. This isn’t a book for animal rights activists though, with Cassie working her way up from herbivores to the top of the food chain, in addition to her human opponents.
This book left me so frustrated. I almost gave up half way through, but I hoped it would get better. Then it started to get better, and then stalled out again. It was really slow and super vague. Once it seemed like there was going to be a big twist and then that kind of scene never happened again, like they forgot to remove it during editing. The next twist had an obvious result. And then it just kept building up to nothing. I'd like to say I'll read the second one hoping for answers and resolutions but I won't. Moving on to something else. #bookfail #bookstagram #bookworm #letdown #tooslow #notathriller
The Killing Complex is a lot to take. Its ultraviolence left me unsettled at times, but there was so much of it after a while it was just oh hum. I honestly didn’t understand the point of it at times or where it was going. Since it’s a series, I probably will never know, since I didn’t really care for it.
I'm rating this a 3.5. The plot was interesting but the story seemed slow to me. I wanted to find out what was going to happen, but was also a little bored. While I think this is a good read, and could see why others enjoy it, it did not leave me with any desire to pick up the second story right away. I'm open to trying the second book one day, but not in any hurry to.
Finished the book in 2 days. Fantastic writing, kept my interest the entire time. Obviously i need to start book 2 immediately. I cant hang around here wondering what happened to Cassie and if she will ever.... Lets not leave any spoilers here.
This book was way too back and forth for me. It would grab my attention then stall out. I have to know what happens to them so I will be reading the next book in the series.
