Jinx McGee, formerly demon-possessed demon hunter, has a whole heap of trouble to go along with her nifty new powers. Master demons have invaded earth along with Celestials who aren't on the friendly side, her relationship is on the rocks, and her teammates are still reeling from the last battle that almost killed Jinx and let loose the demon brigade. If she can get a handle on her new abilities, unify the team, sort out trust issues with her demon boyfriend, and get her crap together, she just might be able to stop the Master Demon of Sloth from unleashing mass mind control on humanity…with enough training, weapons, and coffee. Throw unexpected new enemies and one furry new ally into the mix, and life just got a whole lot more interesting. And deadly. Fans of Darynda Jones, Lisa Edmonds, and Jeaniene Frost will love spending time with Jinx, her demons, and her misfit band of fellow demon hunters in this fun and quirky paranormal fantasy thrill ride with plenty of romance.
I was born and raised in East Tennessee and spent a great deal of my childhood hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains and wading barefoot in creeks, chasing salamanders, fish, and frogs. We camped a lot, and we loved to tell stories while sitting around our campfire.
Those days of frog chasing sparked my interest in biology, which I pursued in college and later in graduate school. A working scientist by day, I never lost my love of sharing stories. I’ve been an avid reader for as long as I can remember and am thrilled to be working as a writer.
I live in Nashville, Tennessee with my husband, two children, three cats, and my very active imagination.
This is book 2 in a series, and while I think you could probably eek by using context clues here, it’s better to begin at the beginning.
The story picks up in the aftermath of a truly PTSD inducing battle that Jinx and her team are all still working through. Every member is different degrees of messed up, physically, mentally, or both. In the case of D and Jinx, there is some trust broken and they are playing keep away until yet another demon attack draws them together again. Oh, and there’s a kitten involved this time. While they try to figure out working together again, the entire team is trying to pick up the pieces that the escaped demons have left.
The big story here involves some nefarious activities seen at the latest demon attack site, which leads them to a plan of infiltration and what is supposed to be detective work. Nothing ever goes as planned for Jinx, though, and she is still trying to figure out life without being possessed. The end here came fast and furious with twists and turns that kept the pages flipping. While we get a lot of hints in this book, I’m interested to see how Jinx deals with some revelations in future installments.
Between learning how to use her new powers, fixing her broken team and finding the escaped demon lords, our heroine has a lot on her plate. I think she is going to need a cup of coffee. Maybe several.
This is book two of the series. It actually does pretty well as a standalone. You will be missing a bit of backstory, but all the essentials are covered early on.
This is an urban fantasy story with demons, shifters and more. The story is very well written and highly engaging. I found it very hard to put down once I got started. Part of that is due to the well developed setting and the excellent characters. The rest is due to the fast moving plot which combines plenty of action, intrigue and bits of humor in rapid succession. Overall, I really enjoyed this story and definitely look forward to more.
Highly recommended.

Hell Bent by D.B Sieders is the first series I have read by this author and I loved it!
Jinx is such a fun character and D is straight up adorable in my opinion. Add in the others like Lacey and Mara, and it was an adventure filled with fun. Jinx and her sarcasm and wittiness made me not want to put the book down.
This was an urban fantasy book, filled with action-pacled adventure, and I can't wait for the next one.
I highly recommend reading this series!.

This was a fantastic follow up to the first book. She is still trying to come to terms that she holds the power of earth, the celestial, and the demon realm and is part part of a prophecy that they're trying to figure out.
She feels angry at D for his part in all that happened but knows that she needs him in her corner. Especially since they are still trying to find the 6 escaped archdemons.
Can't wait to see what happens next!

It has been a while since I’ve been in this world, and I’m glad to be back. Jinx is an extremely fun character, and I really adore D. Add in the other characters, Lacey, Mara, and so many others, and this was a fun-filled adventure I didn’t want to put down. This is a fairly unique world, and even though sometimes I get confused about the types of demons, I still enjoyed this book so much. A wonderfully written, action-filled, urban fantasy book at its finest. I’m more than ready for the next book. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.
Apparent ain’t noooo rest for the good OR the evil, just lulls in the battlegrounds. Jinx goes to fit with her bad to the bone tea to protect the humans and keep them Free, which is a talll order.
Ever more peculiar, Jinx has an adorable hellcat named sulky getting bigger by the second - oooooooo I want sulky to live w meeeee!
Great read, impressive cast of characters, delightful heroine and an absolutely worthwhile read

Aside from the several editing errors and the long wait time, Hell Bent was a really great second book. Love Sully, the murder cat! Anyway, can't wait for the next one.
This is a great PNR, action-adventure with developed MCs. Jinx is still learning to deal with her powers and situation, as well as D. I found this fun read to be enjoyable, entertaining and engaging.
