The sanctuary is Vanessa’s life project. The monumental task of rehabilitating the traumatized victims of trafficking doesn’t leave much time for personal life, let alone dating or finding her one and only.
When Kian asks her to help the Kra-ell, she’s torn between her duty to the sanctuary and a group of emotionally wounded aliens who no other psychologist can treat.
She’s the only immortal with the necessary training to get it done.
The Kra-ell culture and the purebloods’ nearly androgynous alien looks shouldn’t appeal to her, and yet, she finds one of them disturbingly attractive.
Is it the dangerous vibe he emits?
Does it speak to her on a subconscious level?
Or is it her need to put the broken pieces of him back together?
And why is he interested in her?
She cannot offer him a fight for dominance like a Kra-ell female would, but some strange and unfamiliar part of her wishes she could.
This series is probably my favorite kindle unlimited series and most likely on my top 10 of all continuing series.
If you’re reading this review and haven’t read the series, stop and just go read it. You are in for an amazing adventure.
If you have read the series you’ve come just continue “touching” the series because we have a month or less until the next one. It’s incredibly addictive.
The only reason this book is losing a star is the sizzle is fading from these books for me. I love the direction they are going, the story line was getting stagnant but now we have so much to look forward to but I feel like the sexual tension you usually get is fading fast. Over the last couple books I thought it was just Jade and Phinas’ relationship that wasn’t sexy and while I find that to still be true, now I’m seeing that they’ve just lost some of that sizzle.
This could be easily solved by adding in some scenes from previous couples while the current coupling does their mating dance. I’m always interested in checking in on what Kian and Syssi are up to in the bedroom. And they are several other couple that have off the charts chemistry like Callie and Brundar. Just a thought!
This series which feels a lot like a television series. Has some where you hate the main characters but are super into the over arcing plot or your invested in a side characters romance. Sometimes I adore the main characters but the plot is meh.
This one I flipping adore the main characters and the plot is getting super interesting! I love that they both have kids that they are going to need to win over/meet. Also adore the new vibe of Phinas trying to be a secret dad lol. Something extra sexy about guys that win over kids or pets. Loved Magnus for that as well.
Everything with the Kra-ell, about the gods. Hints at more assasins, and best of all the the sweet Mo-bad. Vlad has always been one of my top fav guys so I was interested to see if maybe some of his sweet side and talents did come from his father's side. Turns out Kra-ell have lots of nurturing men, they just haven't been allowed to show it.
If there is any negative it's only I miss best girl Carol (although I'm glad she's happy with Lokan), who I still hope for someday getting to use what a badass shot she is! Maybe she can shoot herself some alien assassins.
Oh and also Sofia still hasn't gained any powers even though her books were 4 books ago and advertised her having some. Was some definite false advertising for her part of the series.

The book count for this series may seem daunting since this is the 71st book, thankfully the way IT Lucas organizes the series is by having the books are set in 3-4 books in a mini-series that revolves around a main couple. There are often side characters & couples that you will see develop along side the main couple. The series does have an overarching storyline that continues through all the books so it is best to read them in order. These books are also told from the POV of multiple individuals, even many of the side characters or members of previous highlighted coupled. Each chapter clearly identifies who is telling their story so it is easy to follow.
This is the first book for Vanessa and Mo-red. This book takes an interesting turn with Vanessa having a connection with one of the Kra-ell prisoners. There is clearly something more behind everything that happened at the compound and I can’t wait to see where it will go next.
Dark Healing Blind Justice (Children of the Gods Paranormal Romance Book 71) - I.T. Lucas
The story of the Kra-ell for me has not been as much as an dedicated investment for me although I did enjoy them, just not as much as the main clan , cousins, Gods etc, but this book had me enthralled. Literally read it right through the day and night, totally engrossed in this new plot line. The relationship of Vanessa and the unusual attraction between her and the Kra-ell Mo-red is an emotional tug of war, he believes he is quilts although he was compelled by the Kra-ell leader. Vanessa believes there is another perspective on his case. Mo-red fighting for his freedom, his blossoming forbidden relationship with Vaness, plus all the other side stories that are part of this ever evolving world has me on pins and needles till book 72! I was riveted to this book and can’t wait for more.
There were some really tense and exciting things in this one. Kian and the clan--including Jade--have to determine whether or not Igor is lying about...everything: can he track the signals from other Kra-ell pods? was he sent to kill Ahn originally? are there other assassins? And what does he know about "The Twins"?
There was a totally unexpected incident involving good old Igor...there was also some more weirdness involving the Odus. (They're causing me to feel a little freaked out.)
Vanessa and Mo-red's storyline isn't all that interesting to me at this point. I am curious to see if Karen has a bigger role coming up...
After capturing the Kra-ell and transporting them to the village for assessments Kian has to get Vanessa back to do the village to do them. Vanessa is so over worked at the Sanctuary though even sleeping there through the week until the Fates seem to be aligning and working with them. Karen needs a place to stay and works well with the girls so she can take over Vanessa so she can head back to the village to work " closely" with the Kra-ell or more specificly Mo-red because by do they got it off!
Hopefully Jackson's mum will finally get her HEA. I hope so!!!!
Book 71 is the beginning story for Vanessa (clan) and Mo-red (kra-el)! I thought it was fantastic to read more of Vanessa. We saw her some in her son Jackson and Tessa’s story. But never full details. Meeting Mo-red was surprisingly refreshing as he may be Kra-el from Igor’s pod, but he definitely wasn’t going along with Igor under his free will. I’m not sure how his story will evolve, but I’m looking forward to it! There are definitely some surprises within the side stories here which help bring the overall storyline moving and not just focusing the couples story.
Surprising as I wasn't really expecting to enjoy the wider Kraell involvement in the plot, the last books with Jade made sense but I was wary about where this would go, I need not have worried or doubted the pure genius that is Isabell, I actually loved this book, little jigsaw pieces starting to fall into place leaving your mind wondering where this is going. Loved it and can't believe 70+ books in and I still drop everything to read a new one when it's available!!
After reading the series one book after the other (69) I'm finding it disappointing that I have to wait for more. I absolutely love everything about everything. Including Perfect Match and Origin Series, and other related offerings. I've thought of just waiting for the next 10 and read them all at once but I doubt I could do it. I've grabbed the last two on the day of release 😂❤
This series is AWESOME… I never expected to dive into this alternate universe. I can’t wait for the next release. Every new character adds to the story and I love the way each character evolves as the story goes. Cannot recommend this storyline strongly enough. Master storyteller!! Read one and you will be amazed.
It’s great to escape into this version of LA!!! Start on first book and then continue the series. Great binge reading 😁. I love the elaborate planning on characters actions. My favorite book series of all time!!!!! This author knows how to keep you on your toes throughout the book.
This series has been so fun and entertaining! Another story with a new dimension! Someone is very creative! What a great job this author is doing! The characters come to life and each one has a unique personality! I have read all the previous books in this series and they never get boring or mundane.
I like all of the characters... I even love some of them.... I think that Tovern should be stronger than he is because he is a God... I didn't like that kian was almost a gonna(from Igor)... hopefully we're going to get some proof that these gods and demi gods have got a lot more to give of themselves... After all said and done... They are the superior players in this series
Bravo introducing Mo-Red into the story and liked the artist rendition of him on the cover of book 72. Great action when Igor tried to escape and Jade stabbed him. There are several pending issues that I can't wait to see concluded.
I absolutely love this series and I recommend it to anyone who love fantasy sci-fi adventure and of course romance. I just wish each boob was longer and I didn’t have to wait for the next book. But it’s worth it. Great read
Excellent! I have enjoyed this series so much but the last couple installments weren't up to par with the rest of the series. Now with Dark Healing I feel I.T. Lucas is back! Can't wait for the next book.
I have read every book in the series and have yet to find any that I did not enjoy reading and have actually recommended the series to several people. Looking forward to reading the next book as well.
Finally Igor has shown his true colors I totally freaked out when he attacked Kian and that he hurt him and Merlin Jay and Anadur I loved how Jade and Brundur brought down Igor I love the Odu also how they were able to help can’t wait for the next book
I liked th book, I enjoy the storyline much more now with all the different characters and the intriguing change of events. I feel like I wait a month for the new book to come out, and when I finally get it, it only takes me a day to read then I wait!!!!
I just love this series. The characters are continued trough out the series as the characters find new friends and family. Usually it's tough to go through the constant review about the characters, but in this case, by book 72, it's good to be reminded.
Love this series! Hot and steamy with characters from the very beginning still being fully present in book 71. It has been wonderful to watch these characters grow into wonderful families!
I really enjoy I T Lucas book but she's left so many unfinished plot lines os story lines that it ids starting to become annoying. One Sofia doesn't heal as fast as the others, and what about Mia. Please tie up some loose ends.
There is always something thrilling about what you can't have ... The world of The Children of the Gods is truly a work of art . I love getting lost in the otherworldly love affairs and constant battle to remain hidden from humans .
Enjoyable as usual for her books. I’m always so anxious to get the next installment that when I get to download them, I read them so fast & get upset I need to wait at least a month or more for next installment.
I do admit though that I’m not as enthusiastic with the alien storyline too much.
Isabel Lucas continues the Children of the God’s series with the dramatic rescue and capture of the KraEl manipulator Igor (earth name). Excellent series and recommend reading the stories in order.
Once again, we have a strange love interest occurring. Vanessa has fallen for one of the prisoners that are awaiting possible trial! Things keep getting more and more interesting!
It was an interesting book. I loved Vanessa and Mo-red together but Jade to me is a bully and she needs to stop holding things back. I want Igor to go. I liked the Ka-rell storyline but I think it might be too much.
I really liked that through out this book where scatters of humor. Compulsion is something I had to get my head around to understand it. This author just keeps pulling a rabit out of her head for our great enjoyment. Thank you.
