Shamrocks, rainbows, pots of gold, and … one irate leprechaun.
Spring has sprung, and I’m finally getting out of town with my monster-hunting boyfriend. However, our cozy little rental cabin in the woods turns out to have a serious problem—an angry leprechaun infestation.
Before we can get back to our romantic rendezvous, we have to prove we didn’t steal a magic hat.
this was cutesie but was definitely too short🤷🏼♀️
in this novella Rosella and Orion run into a leprechaun named Larry on their vacation and go on an adventure to help him find his hat in time for St. Patricks Day🍀
it fell a little flat for me since it felt super rushed and a little bit pointless, but i love Rosella and Orion so it was fine🤣
This is a cute novella in the Sugar Shack Witch mystery series. I like the variety of magical beings that are featured in this series. I would not recommend this as a standalone read, as the story of Orion and Rosella needs more backstory.
"Leprechauns and Lemon Bars (Sugar Shack Mysteries #3.5)" by Danielle Garrett has Rosella and Orion trying to take a romantic week at a cabin in the woods. Unfortunately, an irate leprechaun blows down the cabin door demanding his hat back. Well, Rosella and Orion have no clue what he's talking about.
Rosella decides it's probably going to be easier to help the leprechaun than try to persuade him they don't have his hat. In telling them what he was doing when it was taken he reveals he knows where the magical stones they're looking for are. They make it part of the deal that he'll show them the stones if they help find his hat.
This is a super quick and cozy mystery. The culprit is quickly found. Just had to get a description from a raccoon the leprechaun has beef with. The culprit confronted and with his hat back, the leprechaun holds up his part of their deal plus some.
Wowza, This was lovely and festive for St. Patties day.
Ella and her man O'Ryan go out to a gettaway for some alone time. However, as they are about to get cozy and relax, a Leprechaun bursts through the door accusing them of stealing his magic hat. Now the two have to pause their relaxing and romance to help this pissed off Leprechaun to find his missing hat.
It's quite the adventure. However the ending felt abrupt and short. I wish it ended differently but I cant say it without giving it away. But it was a great read! Hope this series continues and the next book is mystery and we see how these two love birds relationship blossom.
A cute short story in the series. Orion and Ella off for a romantic getaway at a cabin in the woods, in which, of course, everything goes awry. We get a couple leprechauns, some missing gold, and not a lot else. While I liked it, I prefer the longer books (and they're really not long) better.
Weeeee! I needed a nice short. This filled that need for sure.
Our little couple is finally getting some alone time with a romantic rendezvous. Just when things are getting good, they are disrupted by a Leprechaun who's magical hat has been stolen. Will they find the hat? Will they get to save their vacation? Most importantly...will they get the door fixed so they get their deposit back?
You need to read the past books before reading this little number. There is a lot of backstory between Orion and Ella in order to truly appreciate this story.
But yes, this is short. Super short. Maybe too short.
There is romance and mystery. The mystery was a little cut and dry for my liking. I would've liked maybe a red herring or maybe a fun twist. Sadly, it was an easy mystery to solve for our epic duo.
Honestly, I don't think we needed the mystery. I would've been completely A-OK with just a story of Ella and Orion exploring the woods and the town and each other (*waggles brows*). They rarely get alone time and they were apart for a while because of his work. Maybe the mystery could've been something even smaller than a missing hat. Maybe a mystery of the music playing or where to get their next meal. LOL. IDK but I do not think we needed a mystery in this short.
Maybe I'm wrong......maybe this is a lead up to more especially with the gift they were given at the end there. We shall see.
Narration? Amazing as per usual. I love Amanda Ronconi!
Overall, this was cute. The mystery was meh, but I loved seeing our epic duo together again after such a long time apart. Cuties!!!! 3 stars from me.
Favorite Character(s): Ella and Orion of course Least Favorite Character(s): n/a
Ellie and her boyfriend, who works for the arcane order to police magical beings are taking a vacation to a cabin in the woods. This is serving as a vacation but also a bit of togetherness they have been missing for a while.
However, while the two witches are getting settled in, they are suddenly invaded by an angry Leprechaun who is certain that they have stolen his hat. So much for the nice meal O'Ryan, Ellie's boyfriend, was putting together. In instead they have to go on a romp though the woods, and even into nearby human terrority to try and find how where the Leprechaun's hat has disappeared to.
Thank good for the Lemon Bars, the bakery back home packed in their bags or the trip might have been even worse.
A very short listen, no problem to take the whole story in at one time, and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys stories about magical beings.
Leprechauns and Lemon Bars is A Sugar Shack Holiday Novella by Danielle Garrett that is perfect for St. Patrick's Day.
I absolutely LOVE the sugar shack series and this fun holiday novella is a perfect snack of a book!
Rosella and Orion are finally getting a nice romantic vacation far away in the woods with no interruptions, no cell service. Just as they are settling in an angry leprechaun bangs down the door accusing them of stealing his hat HA HA .
What ensues is an adventure and some surprises as they try to locate the hat.
I really loved this novella. This entire series is so great, and I highly recommend it!
Oh dear, the issues with air bnb sometimes, which is basically what this story relates to. Also, the cranky little leprechaun was so funny and feisty! You also see more of Rion's hot head in this one with his rigid rule following too. However, again, I love how real Garrett's characters are with their relatable-ness in finding a bad place and the resolutions they come to by the end. Overall, I've really enjoyed this series. I'm glad Garrett addresses that relationships don't happen all at once, they're not all or nothing, struggles happen, but if the relationship is worth fighting for then you sometimes need to fight for it, and the rewards are the best when you do fight for it.

🌟 Overall, I enjoyed this novella but it wasn't my favorite. The leperchauns were annoying at best. It was nice seeing Rosella and Orion again though and the mystery was fairly easy to solve. Can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.
Leprechauns and Lemon Bars by Danielle Garrett I LOVE THIS SERIES! They are cute and quick reads. This one is a novella between books 3 and 4. Rosella and Orion finally have a week to themselves when a leprechaun literally busts down the down on their quiet vacation.
I love the Winterspell series by Danielle. This novella finds Rosella and Orion in a snug cabin deep in the woods. Their romantic getaway barely starts when an irate leprechaun smashes in their cabin door with accusations they stole his lucky hat linked to his pot 'o gold. Shenanigans ensue when he agrees to fix the door only if they find his hat. You won't believe the adventures of the ending. Lucky Charms this isn't but still a fun read.
Ella and Orion go away for a week long romantic trip only to be acosted by a leprechaun looking for his missing hat. After accusations are thrown, they agree to help him find it. Will this ruin their trip? And are the stones he mentions the ones they are looking for.
“Leprechauns and Lemon Bars” by Danielle Garrett is a charming and sweet novella in the Sugar Shack series that left me with a warm, feel-good impression. The whimsical story blends lighthearted humor with gentle romance, making it a quick and enjoyable read. I especially appreciated getting to see Rosella and Orion together again
It's not like anyone expected Rosella and Orion to get an uneventful break, right? I have to admit a Leprechaun and magic hat was definitely an interesting way to take things.
I loved every minute of it and the snarky Leprechaun is everything you're expecting him to be!
Orion is back! I noticed in this novella that Orion had moments where he attacks first and ask questions after. By having Rosella with him, they were able to work together on getting a resolution for the mystery before getting back to their relaxing vacation. I like how their teamwork helps balance each other’s weaknesses.
What a fun novella, I loved it from start to finish!
I was instantly there, completely captivated right from the start. Like a moth to a candle, this book drew me in. (Altered quote from the book). This story put a smile fo my face, Rosella and Orion are so cute together, it’s heartwarming!
This series falls directly into the category of having everything that should make books that I really like, but somehow they fall just shy. I likely preferred this story because it was a short...the pacing was to my liking. A good example of the type.
So I'm all caught up in this series so I'm kind of sad that the next book isn't out yet and I don't know when it will be out, but I do know there has to be at least one more book. Well at least I have something to look forward to.
I really did enjoy this series more than I thought.
