Ronnie Hennessey is nothing like her friend Tami Spier. She's not a partier, a drinker, and definitely doesn't do hook-ups. And that's how she likes it. Then there is her brother Tanner. He parties, drinks, and rebels. All along with his best friend Jay Collin- his childhood friend who lives right next door to the Hennessey family. And Tanner only has two rules regarding his sister and best friend: 1. They must get along. 2. No macking on my sister/best friend. Ronnie and Jay never got along and they could never see eye to eye. But when secret feelings are revealed and a relationship blooms- a relationship that could cost a friendship- they must decide how long they can keep the secret from Tanner and prepare themselves for his reaction. And the heartache that could come with that.
Sarah Swartz was born and raised in the town of Endwell, New York and has recently moved to Woodruff, South Carolina in 2022. She started writing on Wattpad at the age of sixteen after she saw a YouTube user mention the site. She decided to make an account and show support to this user. Shortly after making her account, Sarah decided to try her hand at writing. Her first book was called A Summer to Remember which was first published on Wattpad in 2012 but wasn't completed until 2015. She went on to write more than twenty Wattpad stories- only eight of them being full-length novels that she tolerates- since she joined and she is still an active user on the site. She continues to show support to the writer who introduced her to Wattpad in the first place. Wattpad is where she made the final decision that she wanted to have a career as a writer. Her use of storytelling and character caught the attention of several readers. To this day, she focuses much of her time and attention on completing edits and getting them ready for publication. When she's not writing, she can be caught most likely reading a good book or trying to find inspiration for a new novel. Sarah is honestly an amazing storyteller. I absolutely loved this book -the plotline, the characters, just everything about the book. It's my second time reading this book, and I loved it as much as when I read it the first time. Sarah keeps you engaged with each page, and this is an amazing story, probably my second favourite book by Sarah.
I think this book has a lot of potential and I loved the concept so much but there were a few things that could have been better
The writing style was very ya, age 13-14, but there was mention of sex.I feel as if this book didn’t really fit into a category as the sex is too mature for a young audience but the writing was no where near suited to an older audience 🤍 I feel as if there could have been more description, I didn’t know what any of the main characters looked like the whole time I read it only thing I gathered was the fmc had ginger hair because she was nicknamed Ron. For example the bikini shopping we never knew what her bikini looked like 🥹 I think the romance needed to be explored more and was too rushed and insinuated. Her bestfriends only plot was saying that the mmc and fmc looked good together and getting drunk, which ruined the forbidden aspect, and all the fmc said was it’ll never happened and then not even halfway through they decided to kiss and date.
But overall the concept was good it just needs a lot of work and I feel as if the author was unsure on where she wanted to go with this book!
There was one really good quote tho! “He was the riptide dragging me into him”
