She's a wolf-shifting scientist who needs cover...and He’s an alpha without a pack…

As the only living wolf pack member with the tiniest drop of alpha blood in her veins, Luna McElhanney should be happy. Instead, she just wants to be left alone in her lab with her experiments, until she discovers something that could end them all. In a heartbeat, she goes from living under the radar to the one being hunted. There’s only one solution, according to the pack, and that’s for her to mate Erik Volk and bring him into the fold.

Erik Volk has been fascinated by the petite wolf shifter from the moment he’d kidnapped her so she could help his family, which she cheerfully did. He enjoys his job as the Enforcer for his brother’s pack, but the Alpha in him keeps yanking against the chains. When he discovers Luna is in danger, not only from her pack but from a serial killer hunting wolf shifters, he has no choice but to let the Alpha loose and become the Shifter they should all fear.

Shifter by Rebecca Zanetti
Stope Pack series #3. Paranormal wolf shifter romance. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the series. First published in Kindle Vella.
Luna McElhanney is a scientist and wants to be left alone to do her work. But since she is the only one with alpha blood in her veins in the pack, it’s likely she will have to be the alpha’s mate and leader. She will try to throw a couple of her friends to the wolf first, in case any of them might catch his eye.
Erik Volk is an alpha working as an enforcer for his brother. Getting an invitation to the Silver Pack wasn’t part of his plan. The Pack is attacked while Erik is there and he finds out they were poisoned the prior year. He needs to protect Luna and if that means he becomes the Silver Pack Alpha leader, that’s what he’ll do.
Together Erik and Luna need to build the strength and numbers of the pack while fighting off a takeover from outside and loyalty within. It’s a lot, but Erik is up for the task. As long as he gets Luna as part of the deal.

This book is lighter and more humorous than the prior two mostly because of Luna, but also the overall characters are a bit more rounded, and while on task, not as singularly focused. They make time for building and fun and strengthening the community. As well as some gymnastics in the bedroom. And living room. And kitchen.
There is a lot of chemistry and lust between Erik and Luna that practically jumps off the page. It’s hot and steamy!

Luna has a big heart but she’s a bit klutzy.

I’ve never really cared for Erik (the hero from the prior two books) but this book puts him in a different light. Seth and Erik, brothers, together are dorks.
“You’re stupid.”
“No, you’re stupid.”

A wolf shifter alpha and mate romance you won’t want to put down until you know if he can save their future.

I really loved this series but I expected more than what we got in this one.
Don't get me wrong, it was good. But it should have been better.
My problem was the 'Suspense/Crime' aspect.
I had suspicions about who was involved in some of what was going on. And I some ways I was right. The real problems was how so many areas were written trying to give as 'Red Herrings'. Instead of upping the suspense it slows the pace down. Also the way the ending was done just didn't fit well. Certain things happened to fast. The Villain's dialogue came of very scripted and unrealistic. And how Eric was able to do what he did just felt a bit to much to soon.

That said, I did enjoy it. I loved Luna and Eric. Their sex scenes were very well done and hot. And sometimes they were just down right cute together.

Erik is just a formidable as Seth.

Let’s Goooooo! Rebecca Zanetti does not miss! This book was a great addition to this series. I have loved Erik as Seth’s brother as well as the wolf to calm Mia’s mom, but this level of leadership and loyalty was everything.

I was ready for Luna and Erik because they have been simmering in the background for a while. I really like the partnership and that Luna wasn’t a pushover. I respect the heroines in this series because they are strong willed and community minded partners. It makes them ideal mates for these alphas who are builders and protectors.

The plot, writing, romance, mystery hit all the right notes even more than Erik’s song. I read this book in one day because I couldn’t put this one down. This one may be my favorite in the series.

These two characters were better in book 2, where we got a hint of "what might happen" between them in this book, BUT I was not involved in their story as much as I hoped to be...

An exciting, fun, dramatic and actiony shifter story with a sexy and heartfelt romance, I loved this book!

This is the third book in the Stope Pack series. Erik is the brother of Seth, hero of books #1 and #2, but this one can very easily be read as a standalone.

Eric Volk is a wolf shifter with alpha blood, but he’s an alpha without a pack to lead. It’s lucky then that the Copper Pack is in need of a new alpha. The Copper Pack may be in an alliance with Eric’s own Silver Pack, but a recent attack on his new sister in law has the two packs on the verge of a huge conflict. When Eric visits the Copper Pack under the guise of becoming its alpha, he’s actually there searching for vulnerabilities. But he feels drawn to help the run-down town and it’s downtrodden members, and he’s particularly drawn to pack medic, Luna.

Eric and Luna met in the last book when he kidnapped her to help his pregnant sister in law. It obviously wasn’t the best of circumstances, but all turned out fine and everybody is now friends. And since their questionable first meeting, Eric and Luna have been unable to stop thinking about each other. But for some reason, Luna is trying to keep her distance, refusing to even consider a future with Eric.

There are secrets to be uncovered, and with active threats against the Copper Pack, and Luna in particular, Eric lets his alpha flag fly and steps in to protect and defend his new pack, figure out what’s going on, and eliminate the threat once and for all. And while doing so, he’s determined to claim Luna as his own.

“Last night was last night, and it was fantastic. The best ever. But we need to move on to our plans.” A hint of sadness wafted around her.
“What makes you think you’re not my plan?”

The romance is gorgeous. The attraction is there, the chemistry is sizzling and the sexy time is wildly hot. The love story unfolds slowly, with very real hurdles in their way, and I could absolutely understand Luna’s perspective. But I loved Eric’s no-nonsense nature and refusal to take no for an answer. He’s the strong male that Luna needs, and it was so gorgeous watching these two come together.

“I’ll always come for you. Every damn time because you’re everything in this world to me. Forever.”

There’s a great cast of characters, and I loved getting to know them all and watching the town come together. There’s action, mystery and suspense as the danger increases throughout the story and we try to figure out who the bad guy is, and I loved the excitement of it all and thought it was really well written.

This was such an enjoyable read, I loved it.

4 stars.

I was a bit disappointed with this book after really liking the first two books in the series. There was just too much left unresolved with the whole This really needed to be addressed and fleshed out instead of Erik faffing on with that ridiculous courting ritual that never was. 🙄

Shifter😍

Shifter is the third book in the Stopes Pack series and features Erik from the Silver Pack and Luna from the Copper Pack.

In the previous book, a squad of hitmen from the Copper Pack endangers Mia and Seth’s unborn child’s life, he retaliates by asking Erik to go to the Copper Pack under the guise of mating Luna and to detect any weaknesses within the pack. Erik detects many weaknesses and realises the pack isn’t being truthful with him. When he discovers the truth and gets to know the pack members, he changes his mind about what he wants to do and soon finds himself as the new Alpha of the Copper Pack….now just to convince Luna she needs to mate with him❤️‍🩹

Loved it and there were a few surprises I wasn’t expecting, one which had me laughing myself silly🤪

I thought I was reading a paranormal romance, but instead I got a murder mystery on my hands, but that's okay. I don't know if this will be a long series, but all in all I don't mind.

Pensavo di leggere un paranormal romance e invece mi sono trovata tra le mani un giallo, ma va bene lo stesso. Non so se questa sará una serie lunga, ma tutto sommato non mi dispiace.

This is a beta review of Shifter, the novel, previously published as a serial on Kindle Vella.

Erik Volk engages with Yago Yassi, Alpha of the Copper Pack, ostensibly to consider Yago's offer to transfer Copper Pack into Erik's control. But Erik is wired for both leadership and loyalty, and his loyalty lies with his brother, Seth Volk, and the Silver Pack. Will Erik lead the Coppers, or destroy them?

Luna McElhanney, is the only other member of Copper Pack who has original Alpha blood in her veins, so her mating with Erik would seal the deal in the tradition sense. But Luna isn't traditional. She wants to pursue her career as a scientist, researcher, and healer. Plus, the Copper Pack is keeping a library full of secrets from their prospective new Alpha. Luna's awkward adorableness and Erik's protective jellyroll personality combine to create delightful romantic alchemy. Every scene that Luna and Erik share together has either warmth for the heart or heat between the legs.

The mystery of who is harming the Copper Pack and forcing them to reach out in desperation, may seem simple or outrageous. The fun part will be letting you see for yourself. Rebecca Zanetti loves to twist things around.

Shifter is an absolutely delicious blend of romance, suspense, and paranormal, like a honey oat latte where all the components are brilliantly balanced. Sip, savour, enjoy!

I was pretty disappointed with this book. After reading the first two I really enjoyed how it showed Seth and Mia falling in love and building a relationship. I loved the glimpses of both Erik and Luna in those books and was excited to see them also fall in and love and build a relationship. However it lacked depth, I believe they are meant to be together however I don’t think we really saw them discover that. I also think that the fact Erik lost someone who was carrying his baby wasn’t dealt with. I would have liked to see him mourn and open up to Luna about it, maybe realize it never would have worked out with Ruby because he could never love her like he loved Luna but still be devastated for the loss of his unborn child. I guess I was just hoping for closure for that part of his past. However maybe they with also have two books in their perspectives as well, like Seth and Mia and all this will be addressed in the next book? Here hoping🤞

Although I preordered this book, I put off reading it for a bit. I wasn’t quite on board with how things were going in the last book and was afraid of being disappointed in this one. This is one of my favorite authors and I want it to stay that way. (I’ve had a few fave authors in the past who changed their writing style and their style eventually didn’t fit with my reading. It’s a sad thing.) I was so happy to discover this story felt more like the Rebecca Zanetti I love.

Both Luna and Erik are characters that were introduced in earlier books, with Erik having more time on the page than Luna. In this story, Erik accepts an invitation to Luna’s pack and their idea of making him their alpha. The Copper pack doesn’t have any males with alpha blood and Erik is an alpha in a pack that already has one…his brother. He loves his brother and the Silver pack, but his alpha is fighting to get out. Plus, he knows there is intense chemistry between him and Luna. The Copper pack would prefer he mated with Luna, but regardless of who he mates with, it must be someone from the Copper pack. It’s kind of funny the way Luna tries to push Erik toward a couple of her friends because she doesn’t think she’ll make a good alpha mate, yet she gets jealous of him having a conversation with any of them. She tries soooo hard to deny their connection.

There are a lot of secrets in this book on both sides. Luna and the Copper pack don’t want their weaknesses exposed while Erik accepted their invitation to root out their weaknesses for the Silver pack. I love how protective Erik is of the Copper Pack’s children and elders from the moment he’s on their land. His brother Seth, the MMC from the first two books in this series, calls him out on his savior complex. Before Erik is ready to admit it to even himself, Seth sees the writing on the wall and knows there is no way Erik will leave a pack in need to fend for themselves.

The Copper Pack has been through a lot and it was almost sad to see the shock they would show at Erik’s actions. It was like they no longer knew what it looked like to have people be kind for the sake of being kind. They didn’t seem to understand Erik doing things because they were morally right instead of kicking them while they were down. Of course, that meant the kids instantly recognized him as someone they could trust to have their backs. Kids always know.

All along it’s obvious someone in the pack is a traitor and I kept changing my mind as to who it would be. It kept me on my toes. There is a lot of bloodshed and lives lost before it is all settled. Yet there are also a lot of new faces introduced that play into some intrigue for future books in the series.

The main thing I enjoyed about this book is the connection between Luna and Erik. I have a thing for shifter romance where there is a chase between the main characters. So sexy! There are also some amazing playful moments between Erik and Luna that had me grinning ear to ear.

I’m not sure which story will be told next in this series, but this book pulled me back into the Stope Packs universe and I’m glad.

A third book even better than the previous two

I liked the previous two books but this one is probably my favorite ! I loved seeing Eric and Luna again and I was super curious to see them together but also to find out everything that was wrong with the Copper Pack !

And I devoured the book !

The romance was both sexy (the scene in the forest <3) and amusing (Luna who completely ignores his attempts at seduction at the beginning xD) and the plot b> I really liked it (I was SO NOT expecting the end !)

This book opens up lots of questions for the sequel with a whole bunch of new characters that I can't wait to discover in more detail =D

In short, aromance that can be read with pleasure ! For fans of romance shifters or simply Rebecca Zanetti, I recommend it !

PS: I can't wait to have a book with Emily and Jackson ! Especially given what we discover in this book ...

Anyone who has read my reviews knows that I am a huge fan of Rebecca Zanetti. There isn't much that she has written that I do not like. I just want to put it out there. While I HAVE enjoyed this series, it has not been one of my favorites. But to be clear, even a not-so-great book by Ms. Zanetti can be MUCH better than many authors "good" books.

This book - the third book in the series - was probably the book I liked the most. While the first two book dealt with Seth Volk - leader and Alpha of the Silver Pack - (and Mia) this book takes us in a different direction. Erik Volk is Seth Volk's half brother and very dedicated to the Silver Pack. We had already met Eric Volk in the previous books but he is front and center in this one. We had also already met Luna, who is part of the Copper Pack. It comes out that Luna has a very small amount of Alpha blood in her line and as much as she would just like everyone to leave her alone.....that is not going to happen.

It also comes out that there are problems in the Copper Pack. SERIOUS problems. Not to mention that Seth wants revenge for the attempt on his life that just occurred. So, things are starting off a little tense.

I liked this book. Erik and Luna are a cute couple and while I'm not sure that I felt a tremendous amount of chemistry between the two, the storyline of this book did keep me interested. There were a couple of twists that helped to keep me curious and as always, her trademark HEA.

I listened to this on audio and the narration was done by Stella Bloom. I think, if I'm not mistaken, that Ms. Bloom has narrated this entire series, so that always adds to the consistency. I am not sure if this is going to end as a trilogy or if there is more in the works for the Stope Packs. I guess we will wait and see....

Sadly, I struggled with this book. Luna was back and forth for the first half of the story. She believes she can’t be Erik’s mate and is constantly trying to set him up with someone else. Additionally, the entire pack has a secret that everyone keeps skirting around and they’re not good at hiding the fact they’re lying.

I think the story is extra choppy and extremely repetitive because this book was initially released one episode at a time through Vella on Amazon. I mean, what is the big deal about her secret? It’s nothing other women don’t go through, and honestly, it just took too long to be revealed and wasn’t even something that I felt had to be kept secret. Another problem with this series is that there are entirely too many other pacts mentioned. It’s gets confusing and hard to keep up with who are enemies and who are allies. Someone is always attacking and they’re constantly fighting and none of the pacts that are allied together are very good at being honest with each in order to help.

Overall Erik was okay as the leading male character. Luna drove me a little crazy and I found her weak because of her lack of honesty. I liked that Seth made several appearances but some of the dialogue used in this series is just cheesy and like an old bad movie with subtitles.

I am usually a huge fan of Rebecca’s books, but I rolled my eyes and started skimming some of their conversation in this one just to get it finished. A positive is that I did finish it and I already bought the next in the series so I’ll probably read it too.

I love this series! This is book 3 and should be read in order so you know what’s going on. This story is about Luna a member of the Copper clan. She has alpha blood, however, she doesn’t want to mate just to save her pack. Erik is an alpha from the silver pack. His brother Seth is the alpha of the silver pack. That all takes place in the previous book. Erik is Seth’s enforcer, even though he is an alpha. He comes to the copper pack under a ruse of being their new alpha. He is really there to scope out their weaknesses. He and Luna end up falling in love. It is somewhat a long journey getting there, but it is a fun and adventurous ride. I liked them from the start.
Their pack is keeping secrets that he soon finds out. There are some twists and turns in this ride and I enjoyed them all! There is a happy ending. I highly recommend this story. Read them in order though so you understand.

This feels like was written by a different person than the laurel snow series. The fmc is pathetic and the mmc talks like a cringe bro.

Casually “I wasn’t strong enough to stop my ex girlfriend from being murdered.” “ do you want to be my alpha mate”. Like dude you just admitted you’re a weak ass bitch who let his girlfriend be killed.

How fucking lame is this fmc; her people have some disease that’s killing the pack off and harming the mate bond and she agrees to do some lame fire display in the woods for inter pack unity. Then it goes wrong because she’s clearly a shitty scientist. That’s her one thing. And she’s not even good at it.

I wanted to dnf this book so badly. There’s 0 chemistry or connection between this couple at allllll…. I paid for this book goddamn. I can’t believe this is the same author who wrote about huck x laurel.

more like 3.65 stars!

i liked erik since the second book (or maybe since the fact that he kept mia's mom company) and i was glad that he got to be the main character of his own book. it's nice to see him finally come into his own and find a place that he can settle into (not just be in this weird place at his brother's old pack). i liked seeing him come to power in a new pack and i liked him with luna! i thought luna's secret was going to be bigger for some reason, but i also wasn't expecting the whole poisoning plot. i can slowly see the beginnings of how all the packs will come together now.

can't wait for the next book, i feel like the romance between the mc's has been getting teased for so long.

I was so excited to see that the story was about Erik and Luna.
I really enjoyed so much about this book, but unfortunately, Rebecca made Luna too quirky and goofy and immature that she just didn’t have any real chemistry in my opinion with Eric. Their sex scenes and romance just didn’t really feel real and deep and believable enough. And Rebecca, unfortunately also made Eric pretty much a carbon copy of Seth all the way down to the spanking, which again was lame and made me wanna roll my eyes.
The story around it was pretty good. Some of it was predictable. Some of it was eye rolling. The majority of it was nice.

Great book

This is a great book and I really enjoyed reading it. The mystery of what’s going on with the Copper pack was very intriguing and had me guessing the whole time. This was more plot and mystery than romance but the romance that’s there was a good enough amount and very sweet.
I really liked Erik and Luna as a couple. She’s very smart yet adorable with her sometimes clumsy ways. Erik finds her adorable also and is sweet to her. They have some feel good moments and I’ve enjoyed watching their relationship grow. They make a very good team/couple.
I also liked learning about the Copper pack and the people there
I recommend this book and series.

Love Eric and Luna!

Eric and Luna are favorites of mine since the beginning of the series and I was so happy to get their story. My only complaint is that it seemed very quick and there’s a lot of unanswered questions so I’m hoping that means there’s more to come.
I will say that I started reading this in kindle Vella but I despise the vella system (and it’s way too expensive!) and when I ran out of coins I stopped reading and preordered the book instead. I won’t be ever opening kindle Vella again.

Another Awesome Series

I've loved every book Rebecca Zanetti has written and this one is no different. Erik and Luna have irresistible chemistry together and make a perfect couple. His original mission was to find the weaknesses in the pack and report back to his brother. But when he realizes how vulnerable they are his alpha tendencies take over and he ends up defending them when another pack attacks. Inevitably he becomes their alpha and chooses Luna as his mate. I loved the characters and the story and highly recommend the book as an excellent read.

This is my favorite book in this series. The characters are more interesting to me. There's a lot going on in this new pack and Erik is being recruited to take over as Alpha, which would solve the issue of having to fight his Alpha characteristics in his brother's pack. Not everyone is welcoming and he needs to be vigilant. He has been drawn to Luna since he kidnaped her for her medical knowledge. They are quirky and powerful together. I admit, there were twists and turns that I did not anticipate.

This is the third book in this series. It features Erik Volk. His brother took over their pack but he is also an alpha. He is sent to spy on the Copper Pack. He is to find their weakness so that his brother can take over their pack. Copper had the audacity to attack the Silver alpha’s mate. Only the more Erik investigates the more his alpha / protective instincts kick in. And when the one he is drawn to is in danger he must take charge. Luna keeps trying to resist the pull between them because she thinks she is flawed. There are big secrets in the Copper pack. Can Erik unearth them in time to actually help? Will he switch packs? Is that even allowed? And can Erik’s confidence in Luna convince her that they fit? This story is full of passion and danger. There are many competing plots. It kept me reading late in the night.

I knew this would be good

Luna and Eric were attracted to each other when she was kidnapped to assist his sister in law. After being sent to spy on Luna’s by his brother, he is tasked with finding their weaknesses. Not only does he get what he was looking for but he is still
Deeply attached to Luna who is keeping secrets and introducing him to other pack females despite her alpha blood. She is a scientist not an alpha wife - if she says it consistently maybe she’ll believe too!

This book was so much fun to read. A mystery needed solving. People's lives are at risk. The future is in question. The Copper Mine Pack is crumbling. Their alpha's solution---Erik Volk.

Erik wants something, but it isn't the pack. He wants a member of the pack. To have her, to save the pack he will have to step up. He is the perfect solution to protect the pack. Now if he can just figure out who is out to destroy the pack members. The suspense was thrilling. They journey to the truth was exciting. The shocks kept coming. The ending -- mind blowing.

Outstanding!

Absolutely love this series! Another fab addition, charismatic characters what's not to Love about Eric, so glad to see him finally become Alpha of a pack, he needed them and they so very much needed him. Luna, such a cute female made me laugh at her antics. Great story arc, murders, kidnapping, poisoning, Love and all out war just kept me turning the page. If you have not read this series of anything by Rebecca Zanetti I highly recommend her books.

Luna and Erik

I really enjoyed Erik and Luna's story. Erik went to find out the weaknesses of the Copper Mine Pack. What he found was a Pack in trouble and in need of leadership. Then he sees Luna again. The Pack is hiding secrets. Can Erik find out the secrets and protect what he holds dear? Will Erik accept the Alpha position and save the Pack?
I loved how the pranked Erik with the Courtship rituals, that was funny.
