I am not a fan of the thriller genre, but my friend recommended this book and the synopsis caught my attention. Being Lebanese, and knowing the political situation in the region, I was curious to see what the story was about. I was amazed at the thorough research that was done to create this book. TBH, the facts, names of different areas, and phrases in multiple languages were things I did not expect from a foreign (not Middle Eastern) author. The story was a nice one that kept me turning pages. I am not sure if it is based on a true story, but in our region everything is possible!!!
As the novel's editor, I can't really give my opinion. I don't want to sound biased :) However, I would like to mention that it was a pleasure working with Cary. I enjoyed every single phase in the process of creating this work; from building Nava's world to developing the characters and the plot. I wish Cary all the best and hope to get the chance to work with him again.
Excellent espionage thriller that takes place during the 2006 Israeli incursion into Lebanon, but could have been ripped from today’s headlines. Like many good espionage thrillers, it’s highly cynical. Admittedly, since I was serving in the Middle East at the time, the book peaked my interest. It did not let me down.
