Very gog, which is probably why it took me so long to really get into it. I read the first chapter in August and just couldn't be bothered to go back to it until October. A little unbalanced, so much time is spent setting the scene that the final action is shortchanged at the end and then the book is just over. And I had to read some parts of the action scene multiple times because I couldn't figure out exactly what was happening on the mountain (was he in the hole, was he reaching into the hole, was she holding the rock up, was she holding the light, was the rock falling, what was happening?!). Still it was good practice, and I do like a Brenin Arthur connection.

The cover definitely drew me in on this one and the fact it matches my current learning level, made this an easy pick up.

Full of some great new vocab (with the translations at the end of the page as well as bundled at the end of the book) made it so easy to read as you could check the more unfamiliar vocab and learn along the way.

It was an entertaining story and one that perfectly challenged my ability. It was also great to read a north Welsh dialect as I’m currently learning southern and like to expose myself to different vocab variations.

Also, stunning illustrations. I really enjoyed!

I had very high expectations to read about Pen Llŷn and nature. Unfortunately I am not so much into magic.
