She swore to hunt vampires. But can she kill her own flesh and blood?
Talented witch Kori is a seasoned vampire hunter – but she never agreed to kill her own family. When her beloved younger sister, Grace, is turned by the powerful vampire Alaric de Carnac, her family begins to tear apart at the seams.
Torn between sisterly love and sworn duty, Kori finds herself caught in the middle of a struggle between the vampire world and her witch coven. Rejected by the witches for her failure and hunted by a terrifying undead enemy sent by the coven, she’s forced to break every rule in the book and trust Alaric.
After a desperate last-ditch spell to save Alaric’s life leaves them bound as soul mates, Kori must make an impossible choice: completely part ways with her humanity to destroy their undead pursuer or lose her newfound soul mate and the friends she’s come to love…
Bite of Magic is a page-turning adventure that will delight readers who love magic, vampires, witches, and a dash of paranormal romance. If you loved Charmed and Supernatural, you’ll adore this book!
I've been obsessed with vampires, ghosts, witches and almost anything else paranormal since I can remember. Possibly before that.
I started devouring books at the late age of ten after battling the dyslexia monster. I quickly made up for all those lost reading years. The joke was that my end of the trailer was going to sink under the weight of all the books.
By the ripe old age of twelve I knew I wanted to be a writer after reading an author who was published at thirteen. I didn't make it by thirteen, and not to brag or anything ("who am I kidding? I love to brag!" - name that TV character!) but I was finally published at nineteen.
Things have happened since then. I've quit and tried to join the normal world. You can see how well that worked out because I've come back to writing. I've taken a new pen name. I've ripped apart my process and old books and now I'm trying to make up for lost time. Again!
You haven't failed until you quit. That's my piece of life advice for you.
If you know the TV quote above, you can probably guess that I'm obsessed with kick as* heroines, dastardly villains, and a little bit of romance. If you love those things too, you're in the right place.
Kori's mother is crazy. I don't know if her mother just hated her kids or what. She had something wrong with her. All the other stuff going on, it's like a whirlwind. Around and around. An excellent story. Now when will the next one come out? I received a complimentary review copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Love love this book. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book comes. I feel Ike I’m going thru withdrawl and keep running possible scenarios that might happen next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

TL/DR: So you’ve read the synopsis and now you want other peoples opinions. I get it. Now, I wouldn’t call this a standalone. Read the first book. So in my opinion, get the book. I read this in one sitting and my head is still spinning from everything that takes place. It is a crazy read and I can’t wait to read the third book.
Now, how can I review this without any spoilers? Our FMC, Kori, is still having issues with her mother and the coven and things get a little heated.
Kori goes through a few different transitions in this book and also questions everything she thought she knew about vampires and a few other things. Especially considering her sister’s situation.
Now while Kori is definitely the FMC, I would describe this book as having more of an ensemble cast of characters. That being said, the MMC is Alaric, the ancient vampire knight. He also goes through some transitions in this book, both personally and with his family. Now some of these changes push Kori and Alaric together, in more ways than one and yes, there is spice.
There is also a force infecting the coven. Kori, Alaric and the rest of the group come to the decision, some hesitantly, that the only course of action is to call in an outside force. Is it a good decision? Well…it creates some interesting ripples.
If you enjoyed the first book, I can’t recommend “Bite of Magic” enough. I would like to thank the author, Miranda Thorn and BookSirens for a copy of this book. All opinions are my own and my review is voluntarily given. As always, I wish you happy reading.
✨ Bite of Magic is a fast-paced, action-heavy paranormal romance that blends witches, ancient vampires, and soul-deep bonds. If you're looking for enemies-to-lovers action with a major kick, pick this up!
The author absolutely throws everything at Kori and Alaric—from rogue coven members to ancient evil and demonic forces. It often felt like a lot was going on, but Miranda Thorn managed to blend the supernatural elements well. The action and fight scenes were exciting, built great suspense, and were easy to follow.
Kori's conflict was the best part of the book. Her struggle between her duty to hunt vampires and her love for her sister (and, eventually, Alaric) was completely believable. I could relate to her frustrating choices and rooted for her the whole way. Their banter was easily the most enjoyable element—it was sharp and funny!
This is definitely an instant-chemistry situation. I felt the "enemies-to-lovers" tension didn't build enough; they fell for each other a little too quickly. And while the book was spicy 🌶️, the steam level felt inconsistent with the amount of spice, if that makes sense! The huge amount of danger was definitely successful in pushing them together quickly, though.
This is a fun, explosive read for romantasy fans who love high stakes and supernatural action. The quick pace, great banter, and compelling internal conflict make this a very satisfying and easy book to devour.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. We met witch Kori in thr previous book ad Pagans BFF. Now that her sister had been turned, her mother tells her that she must put an end to Gracie. This complicated things....as it's her sister. But being the witch she is, she sets out to Alarics house along with 2 other hunters. A mistake from the beginning as Kori is captured. Gracie is still Gracie and it has Kori doubting what she's been taught. What she didn't count on was her coven to turn against her and try burn her at the stake. By come miracle she was saved by a vampire who was once infected with a demon. There is more going on than meets the eye. Koris long ancestor Sarah has been raised and is impossible to kill. The coven has been infected by a demon and zombie Sarah will stop at nothing to avenge her death. This leads to kori using the rest of her witch power to try to thwart the zombie but it costs her her life. Alaric chooses to save her but at what cost? They will all need to come together to stop the attack even if it means bringing a demon in to help them. Betrayal, lies, past hurt and working together make this a good book.
Bite of Magic Miranda Thorn Rating: 4.5 Stars ✅ Vampires ✅ Witches ✅ Demons ✅ Enemies to Lovers This was a fun read and a good enemies to lovers romance between a vampire and a witch who hates vampires. I did not read the first book in the series, but I was able to understand the context of the book regardless. It was so fun to see Kori and Alaric’s relationship develop. It was also interesting learning about Kori’s sister and their coven and their complex relationship with eachother. Kori’s switch from hating vampires to being in a relationship with one seemed a little hard to believe, but I still enjoyed watching the process. The plot kept me interested throughout, and I would be interested in reading future books from the series. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a vampire romance story. Note: I received a free arc, but this review is voluntary and entirely my honest opinion of the book.
This is the second book in the vampires Kingdom series. bite of magic follows Kori, a witch, who is a vampire hunter. The book starts out strong with action. Kori’s life completely changes when she finds out her sister has been turned into a vampire and then decides to spare her. She ends up being targeted by their coven and learns they have done some very evil magic. As much as she hates vampires she has to warn her sister and get help. This book jumps right in and is fast pace. she writes the characters with relatable emotions and feeling, she pulls you in while keeping u guessing what’s happening next. This is a fun quick read. I can’t wait to read the next one.
I was gifted an advanced copy and write this review voluntarily.
This book took me a bit to get into, but once I did, I was immersed in the story. I liked Alaric from book one, even though we didn't see a lot of him. He's strong, reliable, and he actual cares about his family. He was also very patient with Kori. Kori was a strong person in her own right, but at times she annoyed me. She was so stubborn in her views of vampires and kept clinging to her beliefs and what she was taught by her awful mother. At times I wanted to yell at her to think for herself and stop and listen to others. I'm glad she finally realized the truth and it was fun to watch her and Alaric together.

I really enjoyed book one so was looking forward to book two and it did not disappoint. Our female mc Kori, is a kick ass witch / vampire hunter whose world is turned upside down when her sister is turned. Turned on and shunned Kori finds herself at the mercy of the vampire Alaric, who turned her sister as the witches attack her as she is caught between the world of vampires and the world of witches. It’s an exciting and thrilling read, dark and action packed with plenty of adventure and magic and incredible world building. It’s a great addition to the series and I look forward to the next book!
This was better then the previous one witch i actually started reading this series because of a quote of this book i liked kori's personality better pegan was a stubborn pain in the ass alaric is cool i like him the serie in general was good not something I'd remember for a long time but the vibe is good not boring to read not slow that u'd want to dnf The writing is good world building is cool just there is not much description for the mces that it kinda making it hard to imagine them.....u know The books start right away into life that it doesn't make me struggle with the first 50 page as some books do Yeah and that it it a good vibe
Spice: 4.5/5 Genre: Vampires Content Warnings: Violence ARC Source: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. PoV: Dual: Kori and Alaric Thoughts: I am so in love with this series, I’ve said it previously, it’s such a fun, easy and action packed book! Kori is trying to decide what she is going to do about her sister. In the midst of everything she learns new, dangerous information about her mother and coven. Now she is forced to team up with her enemies to try and fix all the wrongs her mother and coven have done. I would highly recommend this book and series.
This was a fun story to read as thelead female character Kori is sassy and determined to be right. However through the course of the story she is faced with the truth that all is not what it seems with the vampires. From previous books, her sister Grace has crossed-over and mated a vampire named Liam. They are in love. The coven that Kori and Grace’s mom belongs to wants Grace to be taken out. They have asked Kori to do it! It’s a lot of twists and turns to follow. My only callout is that there was too much flip flopping on the rules from the beginning of this book to the end. Read On!
Kori is shunned after failing to in her duties to her coven. What is the truth behind her sisters turning and what is going on with the witches? When she is bound to Alaric the vampire who is supposed to be her sworn enemy fate will intervene. This story was exciting and full of suspense with great character development.

An adventurous ride with dark magic, demons, summoning a Gate Guardian and spice galore to really pull you in. I anticipated a good read and was definitely not disappointed. Deceit by the new player, Dagger a demon infected vampire after he rescued Kori being torched led to nail biting dramas. Well packed read. I received an advanced review copy and leave this review voluntary Thank you BookSirens
After reading the first, with the ultimate goal of reading the third, I accepted a free copy of this one.
This one was a wild ride! At one point, I felt like I was reading an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Not sure when that happened, though… Vampires, demons, witches, hell dimensions, possessions, spells, betrayal, love, intrigue, mysteries… The list goes on! It definitely put me in the mood for the third book.
The start was a little slow for me, but I'm glad I persevered. It turned out to be quite the page turner! I was lost in a few places when the book referred to scenes that happened in previous books, but that was only something minor. However, I thoroughly enjoyed Alaric and Kori's story and can't wait to read more.
Loved it!!!!!!!!! This 1 was even better than the last book. I love the originality in this story. It has several plot twists that will have you guessing at what is next. I can't wait to see book 3 :) I recommend this book to other readers as well.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
First read Conspiracy of Vampires, it is truly necessary, for full understanding of the story. This picks up perfectly where book one left off, I loved Kori in the first one and she is even better in this one! Give me a good Vampire Hunter Story and I will read it, and this one is GREAT!!! This story is unpredictable and I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!
Loved vampire hunter Kori and vampire Alaric's story. This enemies to lovers paranormal romance was so much fun! The action, suspense, banter, laughs and twists kept me glued to my seat. This series just keeps getting better and I can't wait to read Pagan and Nyx's story next in Hunted by the Vampire, Book 3 of The Vampire's Kingdom trilogy!
Bite of Magic is book 2 in The Vampires Kingdom series and is better than the first book! This is Kori and Alaric's story and is so much fun with plenty of action, twists and a spell gone wrong… maybe, right? I can't wait for the next book!!!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Vampires, witches, zombies, demons - this book has it all and I ate it up! Loved Kori and Alaric’s story which coincides with learning a little more about Liam and Grace as well as the brothers who raised Pagan. Now to find out what’s next - on to book 3!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is such a good book! I love the characters in this story. The family they have and the one they have created. I even love crazy mum. I would love to know a bit more about her back story. Plenty of action, drama, heat and twists to keep you entertained.
Wow. This book was just wow.I can't Express in words how good this and the first book was. I don't think I ever read something that fast in my life. I just loved it. I hope the next book will be as good as those two, and then I think I will read everything that this autor has ever written.
Really loved the storyline but wished it was longer. I think Alaric and Kori’s story was fast paced, it would’ve been better if there was more of a slow burn and if we had more details about their relationship.
I thought that the first book was entertaining but that the plot was a little underdeveloped. This second book was a fun ride that had a more complex storyline. It was a fantastic follow up. Starting book three now!
Kori is a witch who hunts vampires. Well, that was before her sister, Grace, became a vampire. Now what's she to do? If her family has any say in the situation then Kori will have to say goodbye to Grace. Bite of Magic is book two in The Vampires Kingdom series and is better than the first book!
Holy Moly! Bite of Magic is a whirl wind of action and drama. Enemies to lovers with Kori and Alaric. Vampires, witches, and demons....oh my! If any of these things are your jam, I recommend you read this series.
Read book 1 and then came across book 2 for free and I was so happy! Loved book 1 and Loved this book. It is standalone but you get more information if you read in order. And I will definitely be reading book 3
