"The Ideals Guide to American Civil War Places" by Julie Shively is a fascinating account of the Civil War battlegrounds. The text is not lengthy and is easily read by a fifth grader who is studying American History, and interesting enough for any adult. The color photographs are complementary to the text. Now I want to visit as many of these sites as I can.
