Make sure to check out my review video for this on YouTube https://youtu.be/7eRrsOUbi40 because I go into a lot more detail than what’s just written below
———————-
This was the first fan-fic I ever read, so I went into it with very low expectations since I had no idea what to expect… and right away I noticed a lot of grammatical errors that could have easily been fixed with a single re-read —— and to me, it didn’t feel like SJM wrote it (like I had seen a lot of people say it did) even though it was a solid attempt at copying her style.
There was verbiage that she never has and never would use in her writing, there were some thoughts and actions that didn’t truly feel like Rhysand to me… and overall it wasn’t flowing very smoothly and feeling like an actual book that could stand on its own - it was more like snippets, quotes, and moments from the original book, just from Rhysands POV.
[which isn’t a bad thing… just an observation- this is obviously a fan-fic that was written by someone and didn’t go through an editorial process, and I expected it to not be perfect!]
But with that said, we did get to see every important moment from where the original ACOMAF starts (like when she was sick at night in the spring court and what he did and felt in those moments)…. but even with being able to see everything from his POV, I was still itching for a tad more than what we were getting. I wanted some more inner monologue, some more of his thoughts and feelings, some more moments of what he was doing while he wasn’t on page in the original book… just overall more of a streamlined story that wasn’t just snippets of all the scenes we were already familiar with.
BUT THEN!!!! BUT. THENNNNN!!! At around part 3 when we headed to the summer court, it started giving off more of what I was hoping it would. It started to feel like more of a full story rather than just clipped moments, and we really started getting a lot more substance which was making it really FEEL like Rhys. —— I swear to god it was as if SJM herself took over at that point and wrote the rest of the book herself… it started to truly feel like the actual ACOMAF from his POV.
We got to see how jealous he was the whole time at the spring court, we got to see what his nightmare was about and when Feyre came to wake him up… we got his pov when they were under the mountain 😉… the fight before starfall and how he was feeling when he ingored her for that tiny bit… we then got to see starfall… literally everything. It was perfect.
So even though the beginning was a little rocky for me and I was not thatttt impressed with it… once I got to part 3/the summer court moment, it all changed and I was a melted pile of blissful mush… happy and contempt to finally get to read my favorite book of all time, written in my favorite characters POV.
It was really cool to see all of his thoughts and feelings that led up to him saying the things he did. It really felt like it filled in the blanks for some of those moments and it made me understand the conversations him and Feyre had more than I originally did… since I got to see what was going on inside his head before, throughout, and after all of those scenes.
So with that said, I don’t think this story would make much sense and it definitely wouldn’t read as smoothly as it did for me, if you weren’t very familiar with the original ACOMAF - it’s not the same exact book, just told from his POV… but rather it’s something that would be really cool to read alongside the original version while doing a re-read to be able to get more context on where he’s coming from and how he was feeling throughout the whole timeline of ACOMAF.
So if you are an acotar/sjm fan… I definitely think this fan-fic is worth your time and worth the read the next time you’re feeling like you need a little ACOMAF/Rhysand fix.
✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ 5/5 stars ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ i NEEDEDD this for my acotar series book hangover and i loved every second of it 😭💗 it wrenched my heart out a few times but i LOVED being in Rhys’ head. The writing was pretty good too so i definitely recommend this to anyone who misses the acotar series and wants to dive back into that world ✨💜
In case anyone needs help finding where to read this: • I got my kindle version from the author’s etsy shop (the shop name is illyriantremors) • You can also read it on archiveofourown.org (just go on the site and search up A Court of Mist and Fury: Rhysand’s POV and look for the one made by the creator illyriantremors)
I have never read a fanfiction before, however, I saw this mentioned in a tiktok comment and decided to give it a try because I was so sad to leave this world after finishing the series. Honestly, this was nothing like I expected. It was so completely true to the text and character of Rhysand I could have sworn Maas herself was involved in this project. The level of detail involved and the emotional insights into his perspective captivated me throughout the entire story. This had to have been carefully planned out and thoroughly researched. I cannot believe the amount of time, effort, and outpouring of love and attention that was put into this, and I cannot thank the author enough! There are little moments, like when he's flying, and his internal monologue is plotting information that will be needed in future scenes.. the author's foresight to include them when she/he? does really adds to the believability of the story arc. This isn't just his perspective and thoughts during moments we already love; it's character growth and plotting so we get to know him as a unique, separate protagonist from Feyre. This is 100% canon in my mind. This is our Rhys.
I never thought i’d stoop to reading fanfiction in order to ignore my TBR but this was so worth it. I loved this (potentially even more than the original book) and I’m so sad they didn’t do the final couple chapters
A Court of Mist and Fury: Rhysand's POV (FanFic) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I remember reading this a year ago and I fell in love. If you're going to read ACOMAF I'd definitely recommend reading this at the same time. Its beautiful, heartbreaking and sad!
I honestly didn’t realize how badly I needed Rhysand’s point of view until I started reading this. After finishing A Court of Mist and Fury, I was feral for more of his thoughts, and getting only one chapter from him felt cruel😭😭😭. So when I found this fanfic, there was absolutely no way I wasn’t picking it up.🫣🫣
Reading this felt like finally getting the missing pieces. All the moments that used to confuse me or make me irritated with Rhysand hit completely differently once you see what was actually happening inside his head. His decisions make more sense, his emotions land harder, and it honestly made me appreciate him in a whole new way. It’s wild how different the same scenes feel when they’re filtered through him instead of Feyre.
And the Summer Court section… I was so ready for that. Getting his side of those moments made everything sharper and more emotional. He’s so down bad, 😭😭 and seeing it in real time was honestly my favorite part. I also really loved the extra insight into him and his Inner Circle. Those added moments made their bond feel deeper, and it reminded me why I adore that group so much.🫶🏼🫶🏼
Also… it’s definitely spicier. 😏🥵 Not in an over-the-top way, but in the way I think we all secretly wanted but never actually said out loud. LOL
Even though it’s fanfiction, it fits so naturally with the original story that I kept forgetting it wasn’t actually part of the series. A few small mistakes didn’t bother me at all—the writing is thoughtful, immersive, and genuinely feels like it belongs.
I’m genuinely so glad I read this. It added depth, emotion, and exactly the kind of perspective I wished I’d gotten the first time around.

”For them, I had sacrificed everything. For them, I would stay Under that Mountain. For them, Amarantha was a gift to delight in if it meant keeping them safe.”
“The name curled around my heart and I was lost. The entire world was her and she was me and if I didn't have her now, I would go mad.”
“Soul divine, I wanted her. Wanted more than just a hand to hold in the dark, more than just a touch to push forward through the crowded passageways of death and decay. Wanted to knit our beings together until we were one and she never cried again for lack of light or love or sun.”
“I had waited what felt like an eternity for this moment. Every single second under that mountain had been worth it... just to see Feyre smile.”

honestly, they were so many more amazing quotes than that, but I can’t give all the good stuff away 😝😝
And for those who want to read this you can go to archiveofourown.org (AO3) and look up A Court of Mist and Fury (Rhysand’s POV) in the search bar. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
I'm lowkey disappointed. For all I've seen about this fanfic, I thought it would be way better than it was. It started pretty well, I legitimately forgot it was a fanfic at all, but then the writing got sloppy and so did the attention to details.
However, I still could enjoy it. It broke my heart harder than ACOMAF itself at times because Feyre unwillingly was hurting Rhysie babe so much at the beginning 😭 For real, my heart was aching for Rhys, if SJM ever writes his POV in ACOMAF I might die.
“I never knew my heart could break and that I'd actually be glad to feel it happen until it actually did in that moment.
She chose me. My mate chose me. I found her and fought for her and revealed my entire being to her and she didn't run away in fear like the rest of the world had at the merest glimpse of me.
My mate.”
One of the highlight though is his interaction with the IC. It might as well have been canon on how accurate the banter between them was. Also, Mor tearing Rhys a new one was absolutely magnificent.
There are some minor inconsistences regarding the canon. To be fair, they were teeny tiny mistakes, probably unintentionally, but bothered me all the same 😅
To make matters worse, it ends on chapter 56 of ACOMAF. That was a bummer. Like, I really wanted to read about the crowning ceremony for once and Hybern. It has scratched some of the itch, though.
For not being SJM writing it was pretty dayum good! I loved Rhysands perspective and it made me swoon over him all the more. It felt like home again being back in Prythian! This book is forever a favorite and should probably be in the actual ACOTAR set. I do wish there was more to it. I obviously was pissed it stoped after Ch. 55 😂 but I’ll continue through Feyres POV with my own set! Or maybe just start completely over and reignite all the feels again!
Were there grammatical errors? Yes. Did I hope to get a bit more out of Rhys’s story? Also yes. Did any of that take away from the story? A resounding NO.
Gosh. It was so good to feel back at home in Prythian! I don’t know how this author gave such an authentic take on Rhysand’s POV, but I was so wrapped up in the story as if Sarah J Maas had written this herself. There was a good balance between the use of the original story and the additional details created by the author. So happy someone felt the need to continue the story in some capacity and it was done so well.
4,75⭐️ oh my gosh this was a little more than heartbreaking but also lovely, healing and so fricking cute!! It was so insightful to think about Rhys's thought so deeply>>> and see my dear Feyre from the outside!
This almost felt like it was written by Maas herself however some parts or wordings annoyed me a bit and I NEED the ending also!! thats why I cannot give full 5 stars <3 however I loved the foreshadowing in this version and the use of connections to Maasverse like quotes from tog etc and this whole thing was the best way to end the year/start the year so please read it>>
