James Orsen Bakker is an American televangelist, a former Assemblies of God minister, and a former host (with his then-wife Tammy Faye Bakker) of The PTL Club, a popular evangelical Christian television program. A sex scandal led to his resignation from the ministry. Subsequent revelations of accounting fraud brought about his imprisonment and divorce and effectively ended his time in the larger public eye.

I had always wanted to know about his story because I was so young when it all happened. This was an amazing story of redemption. A story of admitting he got it wrong and how God graciously walked him through a powerful healing. It opened my eyes to the way the Church can abandon their own instead of restoring and correcting. I gained more respect for the Graham family and how they ministered to Jim. Great read!
