I listened to the audiobook version which was wonderfully read by my friend! It was a joy to listen to her. That said, there are places in the books with self assessments, checklists and references to other parts of the book, which may have been more useful in hard copy.
The content was just ok. There are some helpful tips in there and I liked the method for picking where to start. Most of it seems like a lot of lists and just throw things away.
If you have any shame or anxiety around cleaning, I don't really recommend this book, especially not the introduction, first chapter, and conclusion. Instead I would read "How to Keep House While Drowning" by K.C. Davis
I loved that this guide started off with self-assesment. It gave me clarity on why I am where I am with my months-long procrastination with decluttering that it simply "cleared up" my emotional and mental space to begin. The comprehensive structure was a great framework to follow and be guided. It helped with the feeling of overwhelm.
This book is an easy read with a reasonable amount of tips, both practical and motivational. While it may lean a bit simplistic, it could be the catalyst for someone who doesn't know where to start, and can act as a step-by-step guide.
