Sins of the father A real psychological thriller. Autumn’s book series are fast paced, a thriller and hard to put down. Great story line Ready for next book.
A well written murder mystery. Aidan and the team members are recovering from their last case. Each is now facing their own demons. Can they overcome their secrets and stop a serial killer that crucifie's his victims? A real psychological thrill.
Special Agent Autumn Trent and her team, Special Agents Keaton Holland, Bree Stafford, Sun Ming and SSA Aiden Parrish have just survived a horrific case and are still recovering physically and mentally. The Nightmare case was closed when Athaliah Brandt was brought to justice; however, her psychological effects on the team members are still being dealt with. How are they dealing? Who leaves the BAU? Will they be able to overcome her torture?
SSA Aiden Parrish calls the team together to inform them of their new case. Police Chief Clark Kirkpatrick has requested help with a horrific murder. Aiden, Autumn, Sun Ming and Keaton will be heading to Alexandria, Virginia. The case involves a young man, Mickey Fletcher, who was brutally murdered and hung on a cross. As it turns out, he is connected to a crime family, the Fabbris, who were gunned down when he was a child. The team is shocked when they see the pictures and go to the scene of the crime. Is there more than one killer? Who else will die before the killer is caught?
Autumn feels like Aiden is keeping something from her and she is having a hard time dealing with his over protective behavior. She is not the only one thinking that Aiden is keeping information from them. What information is being withheld? What part does Aiden play in this case? Will this effect Aiden and Autumn’s relationship?
Autumn’s Warning is well written and keeps you on the edge of your seat. There is plenty of action, drama, lies, grief, and emotional turmoil to entertain you until the end. I definitely recommend reading the book.
Autumn's Warning is Book Eleven in the Autumn Trent Series (Autumn Trent: Season Two #2) by Mary Stone. This series is a gripping blend of psychological suspense, crime & investigation, and deeply human storytelling. We follow FBI Special Agent and forensic psychologist Autumn Trent, a woman whose own traumatic past fuels her relentless pursuit of justice. Ms. Stone cleverly weaves high-stakes criminal cases with plenty of emotional depth. Autumn isn’t just a crime solver; she’s a survivor who is navigating grief, moral dilemmas, and the complexities of human behavior. Each book layers intense investigations with more personal stakes, making us (readers) feel both the adrenaline of the chase as well as the weight of the consequences. Ms. Stone’s villains are chillingly believable, and the psychological profiling elements also added a fascinating dimension for us readers who enjoy the ‘why’ behind the crime as much as the ‘who’. Fans of character-driven thrillers will appreciate how Autumn’s relationships - with colleagues, friends, and even antagonists - evolve across the series, giving it a strong emotional core. Perfect for readers who enjoy crime thrillers with a smart, resilient heroine and a mix of heart-pounding action and psychological intrigue. Happy Reading…
AUTUMN' S WARNING is the second installment in Season Two of the Autumn Trent Series by Mary Stone and they just keep getting better. Ms. Stone continues to show her ability to write fast-paced, page turning psychological thrillers. Her world and character building are superb and guaranteed to draw you right into the story -- leaving you horrified and feeling ofa part of the action.
The team is in bad shape after the Jane Doe/Nightmare Forest case. They went through he]] during that case and now their team count is down to only four members. Minds and bodies haven't healed yet, but murder waits for no one. Somebody is crucifying people, the first body only fourteen years old. To make matters worse, SSA Parrish is keeping his team in the dark about certain aspects of the case and victims.
I can't recommend Mary Stone's writing enough, every one of her stories just gets better and better. Everything I read by this author is right at the top of be charts. I remember when Ms Stone only received a few reviews. Now they are over 2K! Nothing can stop her. And, this second season of Autumn Trent is sure to have you on the edge of your seat.
I did receive an advance copy of Autumn's Warning from the author and this is my honest review.
This book was disturbing on many levels. The method this monster used to murder was truly cringe worthy. The story centers around someone so wrapped up in grief that he becomes an avenging warrior of God. But believe me he is not backed by God. He is delusional and in desperate need of some help. He is systematically wiping out mobsters and their families, even the pre-born ones. This whole BAU team is exhausted and haunted by their last case. I don't think any of them are ready for this case. And what is the deep dark secret that SSA Parrish is hiding? Will it end his relationship with his team or just with his love, Autumn. The stories in this series have become more bizarre and troubling. The whole team is suffering, and I know there is more to come. Good read but strange and haunting.
This is an ARC read and another great book from Mary Stone and her coauthor. Autumn Trent and the BAU Unit are called out for another grisly murder, even before they have a chance to process their last case. This time they find a teenage boy who has been tortured then nailed to a cross. Before the can really get their heads on this case, another body is found with similar details. As the team trys to get more info, they realize Aidan Parrish knows more then he's telling. Then they find out that all the victims are involved in some way with the Fabbri family, time is running against the team as they not only search for the next victim but the killer. Can they get their mission accomplished? This will keep you going to the end.
Every member left in BAU is still fighting last decimating case’ remnants. They need distraction and they get it. Somebody crucifies people antemortem. Why and who? This suspenseful thriller will twist your mind and feelings. The victims run from innocent young boy to “not so”. No clues left , several potential suspects and game is becoming faster and more vicious. How the team will survive this with Parish holding back, Autumn out of her mind and two other members showing PTSD too . The finale is great and nerve wracking . So so we inherit the genes? So they skip a generation or is it just chimera ? Perfect thriller again. Bravo Mary. Thx Lida
Mind games. SA Autumn Trent is worn out, PTSD from other cases, the last case expecially. Infact the things the psychopath said to each Agent is eating at each one. Now on to a new case... The new case involves so many entanglements and with things. Eating at the Agents minds this is not a fun easy case. You will enjoy this new Autumn Trent series. I'm so glad Autumn and the whole BAU team is back and I can't wait for the next one.
Still reeling from the Nightmare case, and all feeling the effects from the lies Athaliah spewed, their new case involves a young man being nailed to a cross. Ties to a mafia family causes the team to race to protect the man's family members. Aiden is holding onto secrets, and that's causing a rift, not only with Autumn, but with the remaining team members as well. An excellent book that was easy to read and very entertaining.
Autumn and the BAU team have to deal with the aftermath of the last case while getting a new horrific one where people are being crucified. Can they catch the killer while dealing with the last nightmare? Mary Stone is the queen of page turning, suspenseful thrillers and this one does not disappoint. Definitely cannot wait until the next book in the series. I am an ARC member, and this is my honest review.
The team is still reeling from the last case and a lot of self-doubt and emotion has crept in while addressing the current one. In the new case, people tied to a particular mob family are dying. Not only are they being murdered but the are being crucified. Who is doing the killing and why? Most of the mob family was massacred years ago. Love Autumn's character and how she interacts with fellow agents and criminals alike. A great novel with awesome characters.
As the team is trying to get past the ramifications of the last case, another bizarre murder envelopes them. Someone crucified a young boy in his front yard. The boy seems to be a relative of a past mob family hit & more crucifixtions follow suit. Parish is keeping secrets from Autumn & his team putting them all at risk. Can they find the murderer & Parish secrets? A real page turner that won’t disappoint!
The team is totally dysfunctional. No one follows any protocols or procedures. It is asking too much of the reader to believe the team could solve the crime. Autumn hasn't told Aiden about her ability and then has an attitude about him not sharing every little detail with her. She just got on the team but acts like she should be deferred to for everything. I find her super annoying and controlling. Unfortunately, the series is about her.
Gave this book a 5 star rating. The team is still recovering from their last case and get called out to a gruesome murder. There is non stop action. The team is a mess and Aiden is hiding facts about thus case to his team. The only thing I didn't like was the increased use of cuss words. I realize that the story includes the Mafia, but I have always appreciated how this author doesn't use a lot of language in her books.
The first edition was very good. This second book , I could not put down . Oh, my goodness ! The lead characters have such deep personalities. You feel like you know them. This case they are on, is mafia based. With a twist. Someone is taking out a former mafia family . A lot going on in this book, and I will not spoil it for readers. Enough said, I'm off to book three in this series !
The BAU is falling apart. Their last case has decimated the team one way or another. With only himself and three agents left they are on their way to the latest crime scene - a crucification of a young man. The crucification is only the beginning of an escalation of an unknown murderer. Aiden knows something but is not telling the team which is wrecking havoc with them and Autumn.
Mary Stone can create the most grisly scenarios for murder. SA Autumn Trent and the FBI team have a horrific case to solve. This read is filled with page after page of thrills and chills. Mary Stone’s talent for making her characters come alive is masterful. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next in this series!
Still reeling from their last investigation, the BAU team is assigned a new case. A body is found nailed to a cross. Soon there are more bodies, also nailed to a cross. Soon it’s discovered that the murder of a mafia family years ago is relevant. This book keeps you guessing till the end. Another great read from Mary.
I absolutely love Autumn and the whole BAU team. The last case was a huge blow to the team and they are trying to come together to solve this new one. While everyone has to deal with the aftermath of the last case this one is horrible in its own way. I could not put this one down and the ending has me in pins and needles.
This is another page-turner in the Autumn Trent series. Hot off the last harrowing case, the BAU has another one to solve. Who is crucifying victims and why? Such a tense and suspenseful story. Many twists and turns and plenty of drama. This is a very well written psychological thriller. **this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review**
Sins of the father visited upon his off spring. Exciting look at the revenge killings of a Mafia victim. Are the children really responsible for the misdeeds of their parents? How does this serial killer choose to do it? By Crucifixion. Awful. But this is not the end. Stay tuned for more. Mary is a great thrill writer. She surprises and thrills with each book. Great job Mary.
Autumn's Warning(Autumn Trent Series Season Two Book 2)
OMG!!!!!!!!! This book was amazing. I could not put it down. Autumn and the team really had their hands full with this killer. He wanted to kill all thr remaining members of one mafia family and almost completed the job. But I think he left the most dangerous one still alive, so she is going to be deadly.
Autumn’s Warning was a good well written story with lots of suspense, that keeps you guessing and wondering what’s going to happen next. Then it’s ends in a Cliffhanger and we will have to wait for the next episode for the rest of the series. I received a arc copy of this book for my honest review.
The plots and and villains seem to get more uniquely brutal each installment. What is the full extent of what SSA Parish won't reveal about himself? Only the plotting mind of Mary Stone knows. Thank you, Mary for another chance to spend some time with Aiden, Autumn, Keaton and Sun. I am looking forward to Autumn Trent Season Three Book 2.
Autumn, Aiden & the two other agents that are still left on the team get a new case. Someone killed and nailed an innocent eighteen year old boy to a cross, then another man is found the same way. The horror continues. None of the team are quite the same as they were before the last case. Injuries have not yet healed, their emotions are all over the place.
This was a excellent about Autumn and team finding out who are killing people and why? There was lots of suspense and drama. Thank you Mary for writing a superb story which I enjoyed very much and great story line.
A GREAT BOOK THAT IS WELL WRITTEN AND WILL KEEP YOU ENGROSSED TILL THE LAST PAGE. THE STORYLINE IS ORIGINAL WITH PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS TO KEEP YOU TURNING THE PAGES TILL THE END. THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT AND BECOME YOUR FRIEND DURING THE BOOK. WHAT MORE CAN YOU ASK FOR?
Is Autumn boss going bad? Has he been working for the other side? Is Autumn s life in danger? Follow a maniac crusifying bad guys and murdering them. Adam is going off script and the team is left in limbo. Stay tuned!
