AZZIE- I mean being told that I was kidnapped at birth, the man who beat me and somewhat raised me was not my real dad and that the man who took me in as a homeless teen was my actual dad is some crazy shit. Then add on, “Oh, by the way you have a sister who wants you dead”. Okay. Cool. Does it stop there? Nope. “You’re supposed to be the rightful queen of Hell and a powerful supernatural being.” Yeah, that’s even crazier. Sprinkle some, “You have five mates that your magic chooses without consulting you first,” Yup, that’s the icing on the I need to take crazy pills cupcake. I would love it if someone would pinch me and wake me up already because now, I have to go save Hell before my sister has a chance to kill me. How in the Hell do I do that?
CHAOS KINGS- First, we don’t trust her and push her away. Then we find out the truth when she is attacked by Shadowland beings, but she doesn’t handle the news well that supernatural’s exist. Apparently, she really didn’t know about us or of our kind. Then when we finally get the chance to make things right and bond, she gets kidnapped. What is wrong with us? We trained since childhood to protect this woman and have failed multiple times. Finding out the truth of Azzie’s origins is a hard pill to swallow but we were chosen to protect her and to save our home from the wicked witch. Now all we have to do is find her and hope it’s not too late.
I was given an ARC of the book from the author, now that disclaimer is out of the way…let’s dig into the chaos. (😉😉)
Chaos Queen is book two in the duet with Chaos Kings being the first. Have you seen the covers? Absolutely gorgeous, love them so much. Okay, let’s get into the story, I had to go back and re-read the first book just to make sure I was on track with the second. Boy howdy does poor Azzie have the worst of luck. I like that we finally get answers from the first book that I wanted to know. I’m glad her five (yes I said) mates finally come around to understanding what type of girl Azzie is going from homeless girl to the queen she’s meant to be. It was nice to read the transition. There were some tense moments, moments that made me smile and everything in between.
It was a quick and easy read and I’m happy that a certain S.O.B got what he deserved. Pick the books up, I know I now have to go get them in paperback. Enjoy! May all the Queens rise up! 👸👑
"A p0werful king should always rule with a humble queen by his side. But make no mistake that, yes while the king is powerful; in a game of chess the queen is to be all powerful and feared."
A modern day paranormal why choose romance.
This duet was such a great read. Each book is about 200 pages but dont let that fool you the author did an amazing job world/plot building in such a short time. I was sucked in from the get go!
Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐/5
Spice 🌶️/5
There is no spice in the first book, there is 1 spicy scene in the 2nd book.
This duo reminds me of The Bonds that Tie - but with shifters, demons, witches, etc.
I loved this duet and would have loved to have more character building and see more interaction between Azzie and her harem.
Okay now that I’ve finished I can cry and restart with book one. This was such a beautiful story. UHM MAAM WHY DID YOU RIP MY HEART OUT like ok I know you put it back together but ughhhh. Also, I need my own harem now. The book picked up right where number one left off and was beautiful! I want more already. I know it’s a duet and gosh was it ever so spicy but for the love of me I just did not get enough.
There are a lot of typos, I think this book should have stayed with the editorial team a little longer. I quite enjoyed book 1 but this one stalls, the explaining to Azzie was long and repetitive. The whole Bella thing was a bit much. Azzie and her angst was tedious.
There is obviously a good plot here but this one needed a little more finesse.
I'm sad the book is over. N.Owens created an amazing new world and I need more. The second book is so fast paced I couldn't put it down. The first was great but the second was so much better. I need more. I love the characters. They create such a wide variety of goofball and serious I love it. They are unique. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend
We get to see more of Azzie in this story and her men learn more about the Hell realm. With a sister sitting on a throne she stole and determined to kill her she must find a way to take her rightful place.
The conclusion of this was perfect. I enjoyed this one so much. This picked up right where the first book left off and we find out who took Azzie and what that means for her. It keeps getting more intense as it goes and ends in the best way possible.
I so enjoyed reading Chaos Queen. Though there are some proofreading mistakes, the storyline, pacing, and voice are fun and engaging! Great work to N. Owens!
The book is good, but like others have said, it really needs to be re-edited. There are grammatical errors and usage of the wrong words multiple times per page.
This is the conclusion to Azzie’s story. It picks up right after the end of book 1, with Azzie being kidnapped. I liked seeing Azzie connect with her guys and meeting some new characters. Kam is still my favorite, although I really liked Knox too. The final battle felt a little rushed, but overall, I enjoyed the story.
This duet is absolutely amazing! I loved how this book starts right where the last left off. And gets progressively better. Even though the timeframe in the book is short the character and story development were excellent. The ending of this book was absolutely perfect. It is possibly the best ending I have ever read 😱❤️
I was one of the ARC readers for this book and I really enjoyed it! I loved the multiple point of views and the twists! I do wish there was more of a fight scene between her and her sister but overall a good read!
