I ran to escape my fate. I ran from one demon, right into the hands of another. It’s the price I knew I had to pay for what I’d done. So, I said goodbye to my past and retreated to a place in my mind. My life since then has been endless days of lonely, painful, and cold.
Just when I think this is how my life will always be, I’m saved by a group of men. One of them stands out from the rest. I find myself falling into the depths of his blue eyes. They sweep me away, to a place of safety and comfort.
Can I trust him? Am I finally done paying for my sin? Will this man return the magic to my life?
Liam I spent years trying to save my girlfriend from an evil man. Minutes before rescuing her, she took her own life.
Eventually I got back to work, attempting another rescue. Same evil man, different girl. We saved this one in time. I’m usually known for being the voice of reason, but not anymore. I think this girl is an angel. One that fell straight from Heaven and landed in Hell. What’s even crazier than that is I think she was sent here for me.
Will she ever trust me? Can I help her see that she didn’t deserve what happened to her? Will I be able to bring a little magic back to her life?
LM Terry is simply a crazy Gemini, writing stories that contain both light and dark elements. Her novels will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. But when you get off, she promises it will be with a happy ever after. LM Terry lives in a small town in the heart of the United States. She is a wife, mother, and book lover. You will find her most days with her head in the clouds.
This book is based around a team resucing a woman, “Addy”, who was a victim of human trafficking. The first few chapters elaborates on how she has been broken down, tortured and sexually assaulted for the past few years, yet immediately following her supposed rescue we have multiple men casually putting their arm around her, touching her and even sleeping next to her without her knowledge or permission. Not to mention most of this is done before even explaining the full rescue situation to Addy. I couldn’t get past chapter 7 since the beginning put such a bad taste in my mouth. I rarely DNF, but this unfortunately has been added to the list. Also, I found it weird that Dylan had to give her the name Addy but when asked about her name she states that her real name is Addison/Addy but she refuses to give her last name. It’s clear that they knew her first name going into the mission but somehow do not know her last name? Odd.

3.5 stars and some missed potential. Writing a story about rescuing trafficked survivors is one thing. Writing a story about a group of men taking care of those women afterwards is where the huge issue of this book stems from. They would have a system in place to help these women move forward. Clearly none of them know what to do. Seeing inside Addy’s mind and her “walls” was a nice touch. The overly touchy males and the sex after such an ordeal was cringe. I did like that neither Addy or Liam gave up on the other and we’re looking out for one another.
I did not like this book, it had decent potential. There were just so many plot holes. Like were Dylan and Anna engaged before she was trafficked????? Or that happened in the weeks she was rescued? It makes no sense. Also why was everyone trying to bang these poor girls who had just been raped? A clear timeline and even 2-3 more sentences if context would have made this book way better. It was hard to stay focused and into it when nothing made sense.
I totally enjoyed this second book in the Hidden Series. Parts of it was hard to see the evil that is portrayed in this story, but very believable. I hope that there are good people like Dylan, Anna and Liam in reality. Thank you LM Terry for writing this story and I look forward to reading more from you.
