Former Navy SEAL Logan "Coff" Folger is haunted by one regret - not fighting hard enough for the woman he loved. When he discovered his FBI agent brother was working to take down her father, he tried to convince her to leave with him, but she didn't believe him. That fateful night shattered Logan's world.
Years later, Logan finds himself back in her family's orbit during his latest assignment with Reed Thompson Security. Breaking the FBI's one rule, he risks everything to see her again, only to be assigned as her bodyguard. With his duty to protect her, he must suppress his feelings and remain focused.
Delaney Manzia's life has been controlled by her scheming father, forcing her into a loveless marriage. When tragedy strikes and her father unexpectedly dies, Delaney sees a glimmer of hope to reclaim her life and escape her circumstances. However, her family has other plans for her.
When Logan reappears, Delaney feels alive again, determined to break free from the prison her family has built around her and seize a second chance with him. But danger lurks at every turn, and one impulsive decision could have deadly consequences.
Danielle Pays writes romantic suspense with twists and a hint of humor. When not trying to write her characters into some kind of trouble, she can be found chasing her dog or annoying her kids. Unless the sun is out. She lives in the Pacific Northwest and if the sun comes out, it is a requirement to go outside before it hides again.
This was a fast paced story with so much crazy stuff going on. A second chance romance romp that really seems like there is no way for a HEA.
Delaney is forced to marry a bad man who is trying to control her life. When her father dies she thinks she’ll be free but that’s not going to be as easy as she thought.
Logan is part of REED HAWTHORNE SECURITY. He’s warned away from her but he keeps coming back.
I haven’t been this annoyed with the characters in a long time. I hate them all. It makes no sense why they do what they do. And not because people are sometimes contradictory but because I found them to be poorly written. I don’t like the style of writing.
This book has too much going on and the characters are not likeable in my opinion. If I wasn't bored, I would gave stopped reading less than half way through. Probably the worst book I've read in a while and I won't be reading another one.
Don't Even Try Messing with These Guys ... you will lose
I can’t get enough of these Hawthorn Security guys, they just keep getting better and better with each book… and this one is the best yet.
This is Logan’s story and it grabbed me right from the first pages. Action, romance, bad guys and good guys fight it out. Oh yes, and betrayal and grudges are front and center. But it’s hard going against those Reed Hawthorn guys. Ohhh, the bad guys might think they’re winning, but maybe it’s time to think again. And as for Logan, to the team he’s Coff, after all his last name is Folger.
Loved how Duke always tried to take care of his sister, Delaney.
Peaches, Fox and all the team at Morgan Stanley Security… good to see them again… and loved the paintball fight … no way to forget those from previous books, lol.
Ahhh… looks like another good read coming. It’s about Fox and what a teaser we are given… love those stories that start out grabbing you! Uh, maybe I should say grabbing Fox. But I have confidence that the MTS team will come to his aid with guns blazing.
🤔OBSERVATIONS:
✒︎ Great story but could have done without the detailed intimacy. It seemed more of filler copy and wasn’t needed. A good romantic suspense can show love without being cheapened with bedroom details.
✒︎ It only happened a couple times but profanity is always a negative for me. I understand the cussing, especially with the personality types, but there’s a difference between cussing and profaning. I usually deduct a star for that but this story was so good I couldn’t do that this time.

Dang it. I really liked this series, but it gets worse as it goes on! These people are supposed to be good at their jobs? This one features the novella at the beginning so you can really dislike the heroine. Basically, h and H met (or were forced to meet because her dad is a mob boss and his bro is FBI and something about compromising him?) and fell in love. But H figured out pretty quickly, thanks to a garage full of drugs, that h's dad is the mob. h has not figured this out, even though she's in charge of the books. Which makes no sense! Surely you have to actually know what you're doing to be a mob accountant! So he tells the h that her dad is a mobster. She refuses to believe him or leave with him (because her family and friends!) and he leaves. Fast forward so many years and her dad has died. After he forced her to marry a mob dude. Anyway, h and her bro go on the run for reasons and H has to rescue them. The husband is conveniently killed, but things happen and she has a target on her back, so the couple has to go into witness protection. Which is the other security firm. Where he knows everyone and still goes by his code name. But they change their names, so it's all fine. They don't change their appearance or anything. It's also in Seattle. Which is def closer to California than NYC. The mob will never think to find them there! Sigh.
Delaney Manzia was unaware of the true nature of her father’s business. When her brother’s life was threatened, she had no choice but to marry Nelson, the man her father chose. This meant giving up the man she had fallen in love with, Logan “Coff” Folger. Logan, a former Navy SEAL, is now employed at Reed Hawthorne Security and has never been able to forget Delaney. No other woman has been able to make him feel what he felt for her. He sees her at her father’s funeral, but unfortunately, he was seen as well and it almost cost him his life. When he learns that she has been forced into the marriage and still has feelings for him, is there a way for them to be together? When Nelson arranges to blame Delaney and her brother for a hit on a rival cartel, they are both forced to run for their lives. Now it appears that Delaney’s only choice is to enter WITSEC, but can she bear to live without Coff? Danger, suspense and hot romance make this a heart racing addition to this series! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
Logan “Coff” Folger is part of the group of guys who work for Reed Hawthorne Security. His brother Brian is an FBI agent. In the last book, Coff was shot by the Manzia family. Coff had been in love with Delaney Manzia married the abusive twit that is her husband, Nelson, to save her brother Duke. Her father was killed during the op where Coff was shot. The stuff she didn’t know before this book -wow. Poor Delaney. She was still in love with Coff. Now that the head of the Manzia family is dead and buried he does things that made me scared for the characters. It was an emotional roller coaster ride and there are a lot of reveals in the book. I really enjoyed it, but I still want to punch Duke and Brian in the nose at least twice each and don’t get me started on what I want to do to Nelson! I hate abusers and it always makes me see red!
The guys who work with Coff are hysterical in the office. They are nuts as they play pranks on each other. All you do is shake your head and laugh at their antics. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. They just keep getting better.

I love this author and her books. She writes the best characters and I love the “family” aspect of revisiting characters from past books that continue through and combine so well with the new stories. This one is about Delaney and Coff. These star crossed lovers were never really given a chance. They were so young and their love couldn’t withstand familial pressure. Fast forward 12 long years and neither has forgotten the other although they’ve moved on with their lives, sort of. Their lives are in danger, Delaney’s family just keeps putting her in danger and Coff just can’t stand for that. These two have a very difficult path ahead of them but you are gonna love the trip! Exciting storyline, great chemistry and a romantic story that will keep you guessing.

I loved this book. This led on from the prologue book between Delaney and Coff. Coff can't let her go or stop thinking about her so looks her up 12 years after he left her behind. The love and chemistry was strong with these two and really varied through the story. Their memories of each other wouldn't let go for either of them. Lots of danger, drama and suspense really let the story grow. The pacing of this book and the flow of the story really worked and made for enjoyable reading. I really enjoyed all the characters and the team spirit between the guys really added to that satisfaction. Well written and well done overall, it is a book I can highly recommend. This was an ARC and this is my honest review.
Coff is the 3rd book in the Reed Hawthorne Security series and while we get a glimpse of all the team members, it really does focus on Logan aka Coff and Delaney. I highly recommend reading the prequel Falling for Danger to get the background info on those two, because Coff is a second chance at love romantic suspense that starts in with a bang where the prequel lets off and keeps going non-stop. I found Delaney too gullible for words and Coff really had to work hard just to keep her alive. There are heart-breaking moments, lots of family drama, plenty of help from his friends and a HEA for the couple.

Plenty of action: This was an enjoyable second-chance romantic suspense and I was kept guessing throughout. Some things were a little improbable but overall I enjoyed the many twists and unexpected developments. It was also nice catching up with some of the other team members and characters from previous books. Logan/Coff and Delaney had a history together and it took them a while to work through their issues. I was rooting for them but I can't say I felt a strong connection to them. Personally I found Delaney incredibly naive and rather annoying. However I was still pleased when everything worked out in the end. Coff is the latest book in the Reed Hawthorne series. I my was a page turner. I read it in one sitting. It was a very exciting second chance romance. I love the crazy guys of Reed Hawthorne. They may be practical jokers, but they are there when they need each other on a mission. Coff (Logan) and Delaney meet in a bar 12 years earlier. One amazing weekend turned into a whirlwind romance. Delaney’s family business bring about questions about their ethics, and Logan has to leave her. Years later they run into each other again. Neither one of them have forgotten the other person. Can they overcome the dealings with the family to make a life together? Can breed Hawthorne protect them? Don’t miss this sexy, suspenseful happily ever after.
This is book three of the Reed Hawthorne series. Stacy is still working on an angle to get monies from the company but the guys are determined to call her bluff and derail her once again. Coff, Logan finds himself going against his brothers advice to avoid the one woman that stole his heart twelve years ago. He doesn't listen and finds himself in trouble. Delainy is unhappily married and working for her father and brother in the family business. The family business is tainted and the layers begin to crumble. A great story that moves the series forward but also focuses Coff and Delainy's story. Their is a past that needs to be dealt with before the future is a possibility for these two. Enjoy!
The prequel ended in with a bang and this story carries on with all of the action, suspense and romance. I love Danielle’s books. The action is non-stop, edge of your seat and nail-biting. Want a book that will keep you reading right through in one sitting, pick up this book (or any in this series). It checked a lot of my boxes: suspense, check; lots of dialog, check; more action than you can shake a stick at, check. I have to tell you, I kind of wondered if Coff and Delaney would make it. There is so much tension. An amazing story from Danielle who writes such great characters and storylines.
Delaney had an arranged marriage to bond two families, but never happy. Her one and only is Logan, who 12 years ago left her behind when she wouldn't leave with him. Logan has never forgotten the love of his life and they meet again in difficult circumstances. Brutal tactics employed to run the family business and danger floods in after the death of her father. Set ups, deaths, hurt and hurting involving the cartel, FBI, CIA, fight or flee. Who do you trust, will this couple be pulled apart as history repeats itself.

If you like a fast paced story, this is a book you should read. From the start you are sucked into the story of Delany and Logan. Whatever they do they keep running into each other in their story it's full of twists and turns that you didn't always see coming. First, Delany was forced to marry a very nasty and evil man who wants to decide everything in her life, good or bad. And luckily for her, her father dies, which made her think that now everything was off. Unfortunately, things turned out differently and luckily she still has Logan from Reed HawThorne Security.

This is the third book in the Reed Hawthorne Security series. It can be enjoyed as a standalone but it is connected the previous books. Danielle Pays has done it again, page turning suspense, laugher, and plenty of steam. Coff and Delaney's story is a second chance romantic suspense. Twelve years ago circumstances forced them apart but neither of them have manage to forget the other. Coff works for Reed Hawthorne security in New York but was in San Diego to help his brother when he finds out Delaney is in danger. If they make it out alive can they find a way to make it work?.

This is the next installment in the RHS series and each book is just as good as the last. There is steamy romance, action, a good mystery with a twist and fantastic characters.
Coff and Delaney didn't disappoint. She comes across as a naive mafia princess in the beginning but as the story progresses she gets stronger. And Coff is a former SEAL member who works for a security firm.
A great standalone story in this series.

Logan and Delaney had something good and then it fell apart. Her family rules her life and left her no choice. Twelve years later her father dies and she is determined to live her life for herself. Logan crosses her path and becomes her bodyguard. Will they have a second chance? Loved the characters, and the storyline was action packed, with the group coming to help a various points. On the edge of your seat ride that turns into a terrific ending.

Having read book 1 but some how missed book two I really liked how I didn't feel out of the loop but also made me want to go back and read book 2! Logan aka Coff and Delaney have soo much unresolved issues and now thThe attraction between the two is palpable, mix that in with everything going on and Coff needing to keep her safe and the control her family has has you worried there is not going to be a good outcome for this second chance which had me more invested.

Coff is security and Delaney is from a crime family. He can't accept it and she is in denial about what her family does. They go their separate ways until they are brought back together 12 years later. She moved on and married and Coff is still pining for her. Things escalate when they have a bounty on their heads. They keep getting moved around to flee who is after them. Things come to a head when Delaney sees something she shouldn't and has to go into Witness Protection. A few twist and turns brings them back together but in a way that was unexpected.
I had a hard time liking Delaney. So many times as I read I had the urge to shake her senseless. Coff had me shaking my head as he kept putting himself at harm. Despite this all, you get immersed in the characters & the antics they get into. Again the team that plays together stay together. Just as good as all the books before!.

Coff and Delaney loved each other but their families tore them apart. Years later they come back in contact because of a tragedy. Coff has always loved her and compares everyone to her, but she's married and he needs to move on. But things aren't what they seem. Can they survive the danger and pickup the pieces so they can be together. Definitely a must read. I was given an advanced reader copy and I voluntarily leave this review.
Coff is back in Delaney's life - as her bodyguard. It's a fast-paced story as he tries to save her from her family. There are lots of twists that I never expected, keeping me on my toes as I read. I love Delaney and Coff together, as they try to figure out how to actually be together. The Reed Hawthorne Security guys are a complete riot, and they're still at it with their office pranks. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
While I enjoyed this book, I didn't love Delaney. She seemed like an unbelievably naive twit that continued to put her faith in people that didn't deserve it, showed her they didn't deserve it and she lost years with Coff because of it. One of the few people who was there for her, she turned her back on and let walk away. It was hard to watch her develop a relationship with Coff and cheer for them. I'll keep reading the series and look forward to the next book.
Coff is a strong protector who would love to revisit the one that got away. This story is action packed. It has mystery and suspense and so much angst. Delaney wonders what might have been. Once they are able to reunite and fight for what they want the emotions swing far and wide. This is a well written story. 3.5 Stars.

So many obstacles for this couple it leaves you wondering what is going to happen next
COFF is the third book in the REED HAWTHORNE SECURITY series. The story is about Delaney and Logan, aka Coff. At time the story is intense, action packed, suspenseful, had me wondering what was going to happen next and in enjoying the development of the characters. It was an engaging and engrossing read.
The characters in this book were brave to attempt what they did. There's plenty of danger, suspense, abuse, familty secrets and bravery. Logan and Delaney needed a lot of bravery to make it to the end of this story. HEA. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
