In 1919, when doors were locked and windows were shuttered against disease, an angel came to GraceTown. She moved from house to house, nursing the sick and breathing life into the community—and then she disappeared. The only evidence of her existence a stone angel in her likeness in the town square…
Nurse Jenna Woodsen doesn’t know anything about the Angel of GraceTown or the statue honoring her in the community’s town square.
She only knows that when she and her elderly aunt were forced to flee Philadelphia in the dead of night, Violet--the wayward traveler Jenna picked up--suggested they shelter in a deserted house in GraceTown.
Violet, a doppelganger for the angel in the square, insists they will be safe here. Everyone assumes Jenna is the fiancée of the absentee homeowner and Violet convinces Jenna to play along.
Jenna is slowly rebuilding her interrupted life when her “fiancé” shows up. Will Daniel’s arrival cause Jenna and her aunt to run again? Or is his appearance part of a bigger plan that will allow Jenna to face her past and fully embrace the life she’s found in GraceTown?

The Angel in the Square is the third in the GraceTown series but can be read as a stand alone however I suggest reading the previous stories for the heart and magic that is GraceTown. Jenna Woodsen is a private nurse for a wealthy client in Philadelphia and when the husband makes unwanted advances, she fights him off only to learn later that he is accusing her of theft and assault. She decides to take her elderly aunt and leave town to start a new life. Along the way they pick up Violet, a former foster kid that Jenna helped, who suggests they head to GraceTown. They stay in a deserted home while Jenna plans what to do next but when the owner arrives sick and in need of care, Jenna gives aid knowing that their days are numbered in this beautiful house. Daniel is a lawyer turned author who is suffering from writers' block and moves back to the home his grandparents' left him only to discover it is occupied. While recovering from the flu, he gets to know his three housemates and decides to let them stay. As he and Jenna get closer, he knows she is hiding something but doesn't know how to get her to open up. Violet helps Jenna realize that running away will not solve her problems and that love is worth fighting for. This is a beautifully written story filled with magic and love that will have you entertained until the very last page.
I received an advanced reader copy from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.
Ya'll know I love me some Cindy Kirk. I always fall in love with these quaint towns. Gracetown is no different but different. There are somethings that happen in Gracetown that don't happen anywhere else. This is the third book in this series and it is just as good as the first two. Jenna Woodsen lives with her Aunt Rosemary in Philadelphia. They are getting by when she finds out her part-time job at the girls' home is going away. She needs to find another way to make up that income. She thinks she finds it at her full-time job, caring for a well-to-do politician’s wife. Her boss propositions her with a way to make up the lost income. Jenna immediately runs away and heads out of town.
On the way out of town Jenna sees Violet, one of the girls from the group home. She has aged out of the system and is now out on her own. Violet directs them to Gracetown to a vacant house currently owned by Daniel Grace, a famous novelist. Daniel Grace keeps up the house but does not live there. The trio comes to town and holes up in the house under the guise of Jenna's being Daniel's fiancé. Violet has an uncanny way of knowing when things will happen. She assures them that everything will be fine even when Daniel Grace shows up.
Violet is right. Daniel arrives sick and so gracious for the care he received that he allows them to stay at the house and continue the ruse of Jenna being his fiancé. Jenna and David enjoy getting to know each other but there is still a big omission keeping them apart. Jenna will not tell David why they are here for fear that he will be forced to turn them in or get in trouble for harboring a fugitive. Yes, the boss is trying to trump up charges against Jenna. Everyone is enjoying Gracetown and noticing the the statue of the Angel in the Square looks remarkably like Violet. Is this some Gracetown folklore? Readers will love this sweet story. Jeanna learning to trust and let people in will melt reader's hearts.
This is the third book in the Grace Town series, though it can be read as a standalone. Throughout this series, Grace Town is the center of otherworldly events. The first book was a ghost story, the second was time travel and this is a story of divine intervention. Jenna Woodsen is a nurse working two jobs to support herself and her Aunt Rosemary. An event occurs where Jenna needs to flee town to protect herself. On her way out of town, she sees Violet, an eighteen year old girl who just aged out of the group home Jenna had worked at. She picks her up and Violet suggests they go to Grace Town. Once there, Violet tells them about an empty home they can stay in. The home is owned by Daniel Grace, best selling author, and descendant of the founder of Grace Town. When neighbors come by to after seeing lights on in the house, Violet explains that Jenna is Daniel’s fiancé. Things get interesting when Daniel leaves New York to continue to write his new book at his ancestral home in Grace Town. Overall, I enjoyed this series and liked this book. While I enjoyed this book, I felt it was the weakest of the three books (the villain of the book was a bit two dimensional and Daniel’s reaction to meeting Jenna and crew wasn’t realistic), but still highly recommend the series. I received an ARC of this book from the author for my honest review.
Angel in the Square doesn't start in GraceTown, it starts in Philly. We meet a nurse who is a wonderful person just trying to do her best. Jenna lives with her great aunt, who is the only real family she has. She is working two jobs to make sure she can provide for her. When Jenna is let go from her second job as an assistant at a group home for girls, her private nurse boss offers her a new position. This one comes with his hands all over her. Jenna is forced to attack him to get away. Jenna knows the man is powerful and is worried that she has lost more than just her job. She packs her things and her Great Aunt Rosemary and they take off to travel. While trying to leave Jenna runs into a girl from the group home. Violet has aged out and Jenna just can't leave her. She offers her a ride. In return Violet gives Jenna and Rosemary a new start in GraceTown. Jenna is petrified that the house Violet has told them to stay in will get them arrested. But as the week goes by Jenna starts to feel at home. She watches her aunt build a life, that she hasn't had in years. Jenna doesn't know what to do, but Violet is always promising her everything will work out. Jenna wants to know more about Violet's connect to GraceTown and a statue that looks very must like her in the town square, but first they have to deal with company. Daniel Grace, the owner of the house and a famous author has come to town. He is sick and thankfully finds Jenna at his home to nurse him back to health. Daniel is stuck, he can't write, he doesn't love his girl friend and doesn't know what to do. One night his car seems to drive him to his Grandfather's house in GraceTown. After dealing with a terrible stomach bug, he starts to realize there are people living in his house. He wants to be mad, but something makes him realize this might be the best thing for him. Slowly the unlike foursome become more than roommates. This story is well written. The characters are well developed and easy to fall in love with. The story has a great flow and while like the other GraceTown stories has a place in the paranormal, it is light and only adds to the story. This can be read with the other GraceTown books or as a stand alone.
Jenna is a private duty nurse and her weekend job is working as a counselor at a home for foster girls. She cares for her Great-Aunt Rosemary. Jenna is a very responsible woman.
When she is assaulted by the husband of her private patient, she picks up a paper weight and hits him. She runs from the house planning to tell the agency who found her the job about what happened. Before she can do that, the housekeeper calls her to let her know what has happened. The husband has reported to the police that Jenna attacked him and stole a large amount of expensive jewelry. His assistant is his witness to confirm his story.
Jenna gathers Rosemary and a few things they need and decides to run away. At a stop light, she recognizes Violet, one of the foster girls, trying to hitchhike. Jenna makes her get in the car and Violet tells them she knows of a small town in Maryland where there is a house where they can stay for awhile.
This begins an amazing adventure for these women.
The house is a huge mansion that is well cared for and filled with beautiful things.
When one of the women who care for the house asks who they are, Violet tells them Jenna is the fiance of Daniel, the man who owns the home. He is a famous author and from one of the founding families of the small town. He has not been back in many years.
Violet knows a great deal about the town as well as Daniel and his family. In fact, Violet knows a great deal about almost anyone she meets.
When Daniel shows up at the house, he is very ill and Jenna cares for him. He is very grateful for her care and he tells the women they can stay in his house.
This is a story about the power of love, forgiveness, and the ability to believe in things that appear to be unbelievable.
It is a sweet story about people who are kind and caring. It is about creating a family among friends.
Ms Kirk is an expert at writing about the love people find when they look for it around every corner.
Another great story in the Grace Town series. Jenna has been working at a group home for teenagers, until her job is axed. This is where we first meet Violet, a young girl who's just about to age out of the foster system. There's something not quite worldly about this seemingly young woman.
In her full time job as a RN Jenna cares for one woman. Her patients husband assaults her forcing her to flee Philadelphia with her Great Aunt Rosemary because of false accusations by her attacker. On her way out of town Jenna spots Violet hitchhiking and picks her up. Rosemary has no idea of the reason they're leaving town. Violet is heading for Grace Town so Jenna and Rosemary decide that's as good a place as any especially when Violet tells them of a house they can crash in. Violet makes matters worse when she tells the neighbours Jenna is Daniel Grace, the owner of the home is her fiance.
Daniel is an author who's struggling with writers block so heads out of NY to try and break it. Somehow he finds himself headed to Grace Town. While enroute Daniel becomes very sick. Jenna and company are out at a party when he arrives, on returning to the house Jenna finds him collapsed in the bathroom and puts him to bed. It seems they're luck is running out and will have to flee very soon. It's not for several days that Daniel is in any state to question them but when he does they come clean that they have been staying there, because of the care Jenna had delivered he tells them they can stay.
The mysterious Violet seems to know things about Daniel and Grace Town. The Angel In town square bears a remarkable likeness of Violet, it was erected by the inhabitants of the town grateful for a nurse who assisted them during the flu pandemic of 1917. Is she a relation? You'll just have to read the story to get the answers.
I really enjoyed this story and can recommend reading this and the other books in this series
How had Jenna Woodson got herself into this mess? Was she that desperate for money that she needed to take a job in a household where the husband of her patient was depraved and evil? Now it had gotten her into a situation where she needed to flee Philadelphia and get as far away as possible so he couldn’t find her. There was one problem, though. It wasn’t just herself that she had to worry about. She also needed to take care of her great-aunt Rosemary. How did she get away without alerting Rosemary that they were fleeing for their lives? In steps Violet, a foster she cared for in a group home on the north side of Philly. Violet had just turned 18 so has aged out of the system. Jenna and Rosemary meet up with her on their way out of town on “vacation”. Not knowing what direction to go, Violet suggests going to GraceTown, MD, where she knows of a house that is standing empty. You’ll notice something different about Violet right off the bat…she always seems to know what to do and where to go…like a guardian angel? As the story progresses and the owner of the “empty” house, Daniel Grace, decides to come home while the three ladies are still living there, things start to fall into place. Jenna gets a chance to prove her worth and get to know Daniel when he arrives sick and needing care. He probably would’ve kicked them out, otherwise. Violet’s doing? Violet looks very much like a statue that was erected to honor what the citizens of GraceTown, MD believe to be an angel who ministered to the most sick in GraceTown during the 1919 Influenza outbreak. Could Violet be an angel, or even perhaps THE angel that visited GraceTown almost 100 year previous? You decide! Another one out of the ballpark for Cindy Kirk!! Thank you for providing us a place to go to escape life when it gets too hard. A place where we can turn our brains off for a while and just be!!
Angel in the Square in the third book in Cindy Kirk’s Gracetown series. It can be read as part of the series or as a standalone novel. I have read each of the three books & loving the series the more I read them. Gracetown is where the impossible happen such as seeing ghosts & time travel. This book deals with divine intervention. The main character of the story is Jenna Woodsen who works as a private nurse for a patient in Philadelphia until an incident causes her to go on a road trip with her Aunt Rosemary to Gracetown, Violet also joins them on the road trip who is Jenna’s foster sister who is about to age out of the foster system. Violet is headed to Gracetown & tells Jenns she knows of a house that they can stay in when they arrive. Once in Gracetown, Violet lets everyone in town know that Jenna is Daniel’s fiancée to keep up the ruse to allow them to stay in the house. Daniel who is an author, lives in New York but has a major case of writer’s block & decides to head out of town back to Gracetown. Thankfully when Daniel & Jenna meet they get along to keep up the engaged ruse at the beginning. The Angel in the Square of Gracetown resembles Violet but no-one says anything to the contrary. Divine Intervention happens & then the magic happens. Who is the Angel of Gracetown? Will Daniel & Jenna get their happily ever after? Read this book & you will not be disappointed. Like all of Ms Kirk’s previous books, once I started, I couldn’t put it down.
I received an advanced copy of this book and am reviewing it volunteerily. Welcome back to GraceTown where the unexplainable can happen. Jenna Woodson is a RN nurse who is working two jobs to make ends meet. Her main job is as a care giver and her second job is at a foster home for girls in the system. Unfortunately due to budget cuts, Jenna looses her job. On her last day at the foster house they celebrate the 18th birthday of Violet who has now aged out of the system. When her boss as a caregiver finds out he makes her an offer she would never take. After him grabbing her she escapes by hitting him in the head. He makes threats to her when she was escaping and vows never to return. She loads her Aunt Rosemary in the car and runs away worried her boss was going to have her arrested. Once on the road, Jenna sees Violet hitchhiking and they pick her up. Violet explains she's on her way to GraceTown and knows an abandoned house they can stay in. Daniel Grace is a writer who lives in New York City and is suffering with writer's block. After a break up, he decides to return to GraceTown and the house he hasn't been back too since his Grandfather died. How is he going to react once he see someone in his house. When he shows up in GraceTown he is very sick and Jenna takes care of him. Is this the start of something new for them? Why does Violet look like the Angel in the square? Read to find out! Enjoy! I did!
This is another sweet and beautiful story taking place in GraceTown, Maryland, where unexplained happenings often take place. Cindy Kirk once again writes an uplifting story with likeable characters and some mystery, drama and romance that makes for an easy, enjoyable read.
Jenna Woodsen is a private duty nurse who also works part time at a Philadelphia group home. She works two jobs to help support her Aunt Rosemary who lives with her. After losing her part time position and then facing a very bad incident with her full-time employer, she tells her aunt that they are going on an adventure. They pick up Violet who has aged out of the group home and she convinces them to go with her to GraceTown and to a home presently not occupied. Daniel Grace who is a lawyer, bestselling author and is the owner of the home but currently residing in New York City. Daniel is facing a writer’s block and needs to get away from the noisy city. Upon arriving in GraceTown and sick with the flu, he meets and is cared for by the temporary residents. They slowly become “families of the heart” and find happiness and peace in the midst of supernatural happenings.
I enjoyed this story and found it to be a pleasurable read. The love story is heartwarming. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a light and uplifting story.
This inspirational story of overcoming and triumphing. GraceTown series deals with a pinch of paranormal but in a very uplifting and spiritual way. Jenna Woodsen is saddened to know that her part-time job working in a girls foster home has been closed and she will truly miss them all especially Violet who is aging out of the system. Violet says to her they will meet one day again. One day while Jenna was at her fulltime nursing position taking care of an elderly woman she gets the shock of her life when she's accuse of stealing from her job. In desperation Jenna packs up her things and leaves the area immediately with her great aunt Rosemary hoping to outrun the issue. As she is driving along she meets Violet who suggest they go with her to Gracetown a place she knew in the past. So begins this novel of believing in possibility that is not evident. Violet the sweet young soul who pushes Jenna to have faith and believe everything will work out and Rosemary who at one time seem to have giving up living a full life now has made great friends and even have a beau and Daniel in realizing his true dreams was within his gap all along. A touching uplifting heartwarming story that will put a smile on your face.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. This is a story about a in home nurse who gets wrapped up in blackmail where she decides to run away from her life as she knew it.
Jenna brings what she has, her elderly aunt and a foster youth who aged out of the system. Their journey leads them to Grace Town. Violet (the foster youth) wanted to go to Grace Town because there was somewhere she could live until she figured out her next steps. Jenna, Rosemary and Violet head to Grace Town and the home Violet was referring to was Grace Town founders home.
Jenna, Rosemary and Violet begin to take care of the home and building a life there. Rosemary builds friendships she never had in any other place they resided. Violet is bringing the garden back to life. Jenna keeps checking the internet to ensure she’s not listed as a fugitive.
Little did they know that the founders grandson (a writer from New York) would come to the home to help with his writer’s block. Little did anyone know that it would turn into an unexpected but welcoming love.
I really enjoyed this book as I have with Cindy’s other books in this series. It was hard to put it down and not stay up too late at night reading.
Jenna Woodsen is a nurse in Philadelphia. When the employer for her job makes an inappropriate suggestion then threatens her when she says no, she decides it is the perfect time for her and her aunt, Rosemary, to go on vacation. On their way out of town they see Violet, a teen who just aged out of the foster system. When asked where she is headed Violet tells them that she is going to GraceTown. She knows of an empty home where they can stay. Once they get there all three women quickly settle in and feel so comfortable and at home. They all pitch in to take care of the home inside and out along with the long-term caretakers.
Daniel, the owner of the home, arrives unexpectedly and is very sick. Jenna takes care of him until he is recovered. Once he is back on his feet, he extends an invitation to the women to continue to stay.
Uncanny coincidence, Violet looks so much like the statue in the square - the Angel of GraceTown. The statue was erected to honor the woman who arrived during the influenza pandemic in the early 1900s and took care of so many of the sick.
Will the mystery of Violet be solved? Will Jenna and Daniel end up together?
Another gorgeous read by Cindy Kirk. This is the 3rd in the Gracetown series of novellas, which can be read as a standalone, or part of the series. The primary character of this book is called Jenna Woodson. Jenna has been accused of a crime she didn't commit & decides it’s time to take a road trip with her Great-Aunt Rosemary. It is a journey to new beginnings. Setting off on their road trip, Jenna sees Violet, a former resident at the foster-care home that Jenna previously worked in. As Violet is now 18, as an adult she is no longer eligible to live in a foster-care home, she now has to find her own way in the world. Jenna offers Violet a lift & they begin their journey to new beginnings together. In return Violet navigates Jenna and Rosemary to a little town called Gracetown, a place that is dear to her heart. Gracetown is no ordinary town, it is a town steeped in mystery and otherworldly happenings. Can they all be happy in Gracetown? Will they find a place to call home again? Can they find true happiness? Does Jenna’s past catch up on her? You will have to read this book to find out as I don’t want to spoil it for you.
As with Cindy Kirk’s many other books, there is always an underlying tale of the meaning of life. This book is about the importance of finding true happiness, believing in yourself and taking a leap of faith.
I absolutely loved reading this book, I couldn’t put it down. I cannot wait for the next novella.
This 3rd book in the GraceTown series does not disappoint! This series occurs in Grace Town, a sleepy small town where there are occasional experiences with other dimensions. A nurse, Jenna has been working 2 jobs to support her elderly aunt and put some money away for a rainy day. While working for a wealthy woman in physical decline, she is confronted by the woman’s husband, who tries getting frisky with her. She bashes him in the head, he tells the cops that he caught her stealing and she is off with her aunt in the night, picking up Violet, an aged out foster child from her second job. Violet steers them to Grace Town and a vacant home being maintained for the absent heir. They start to form a tenuously happy life until the owner decides to come back and spend some time so he can finish writing his next book. Then things get a bit tense, to say the least! But this is a romance at the heart of it so we WILL have a happy ending. We just need to read on and see how it is all brought about.
I highly recommend this book and the whole series. You don’t have to read the others first, but I always recommend it.
Jenna is overworked, responsible for too much, and now running for her life, or at least her freedom. Packing up her aunt who lives with her, and picking up a hitchhiking teen, who Jenna befriended when she volunteered at a safe house, she drives with no destination in mind and no plan.
This story is all about building family in an untypical way. The group bonds with a common goal. As they explore their new town and home, make friends, find their interests and passion, each then grows in this new safe space. The bond between women who all have different issues, and the making of new friends, is an incredible story, in and of itself.
Enter a man who could be the one for Jenna, and she has decisions to make. Love or her safety. A lovely, sweet, romantic story full of character growth, and the trials and joys of building a non-traditional family…a book you won’t be able to put down.
The twists and turns, the unexpected and unexplained happenings, and the character growth kept me reading late into the night and early morning. I loved the happily-ever-after ending, which I only suspected might happen toward the very end. Love this entire series.
I received an advanced readers' copy in exchange for an honest review. Is it possible we each have a Guardian Angel that walks beside us in Life? This series from Cindy Kirk could easily become my favorite - but every series Cindy produces becomes the 'next' favorite for me. This story had magical moments, similarly to The Pink House. It was a bit different direction than some of Cindy's other beloved series but held that small-town feel of community and love. What I loved most was the character work and descriptions given. The picture painted of each character's personality really made them come to life as a community. Community is my favorite aspect and tying each character's purpose in the community. Each person is a puzzle piece that fits so lovely into the story; and adding in that magical or other-worldly touch was the perfect blended layer to the story I didn't know my heart needed. While I don't want to spoil the fabulous ending to this book, I'll share that it'll capture hearts and provide the reader with thought-provoking questions. It's a definite must-read!

Jenna is a home hospice nurse. She gets propositioned by the husband of her patient, and runs when he says no one will believe her over him. She takes her own money, packs up her great aunt and hits the road. They pick up Violet who she knew from a foster care home she worked at. They head to GraceTown Maryland. Violet directs them to Daniel's home, because he is living out of town so the house is vacant except for some caretakers that come to take care of the inside and outside. Daniel is having writers block, so heads home to regroup, and finish his 2nd novel. He is very sick when he arrives, so Jenna cares for him. They are pretending to be engaged because that's what they told people for being in the house. Daniel finishes his novel, Jenna tells him why she left suddenly. They become engaged for real, and married. Cindy is currently writing book 4, coming out Spring of 2024. I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Jenna needs to leave town as she thinks she is being set up for a jewel theft at her current employer. She sets off on the adventure with her aunt, Rosemary, and Violet, who was a ward of the state and is now aged out of the system. They end up in GraceTown, MD and become squatters in Daniel Grace's house. He is currently living in New York and is a writer with bad writers block for his newest novel. After breaking up with his girlfriend/roommate, he heads back to GraceTown. Jenna nurses him back to health with help from Violet when he gets very ill after returning. He does not kick the trio out of the house, and they bond and become a family. When Daniel's ex-girlfriend comes to town with the lowdown on why Jenna is on the run, Daniel supports Jenna and they find out that Jenna's ex-employer was trying to frame her and he is arrested.
Good character development. The town and the Angel are important characters unto themselves.
The Angel in the Square is the third book in the grace town series, though it can be read as a standalone.
Jenna is a nurse for a wealthy woman and has to abruptly leave her a job due to the husbands unwanted advances. Jenna decides to flee town to run away from her problems and takes her aunt with her. Along the way violet joins and leads them to a vacant home in Grace town. Violet tells the people in town that Jenna is engaged to the homeowner, Daniel. Jenna and her aunt fall in love with Grace town. Daniel returns to his family home to finish his book and becomes very ill. Jenna nurses him back to health. Daniel allows them to stay in the home, but Jenna knows that her days in the home are numbered. She receives an alert that she thinks her pass is caught up with her. She’s in frayed to confide in Daniel about her problems. Violet helps Jenna learn that running away from your problems is never the best solution. Along the way, Jenna learned to open up to Daniel.

After being accused of a crime she didn't commit, Jenna takes her aunt on a road trip. On the way, she picks up a girl she thinks she knows. But this girl has a story and a past that is both mysterious and unbelievable. And this girl will change the course of Jenna's life forever. Ms. Kirk has been blessed by God to create stories that people need to read. And I wish that the worlds she creates could be real. The setting of this story seems like an ordinary small town, but strange and wonderful things happen there. There is just enough description that I could feel the rain or feel the warmth of the spring day. The characters she creates are well developed with both strengths and weaknesses. The plot of this story made me think about the truth about life and how we all need to find our true happiness. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!
GraceTown has a history of being a beacon of hope and mystique for all who cross the city limits. Jenna is the latest resident to experience the magical or miraculous events that occur in this small town. While running from her past, with her aunt along for the ride, Jenna picks up a young hitchhiker who encourages the unlikely trio to seek safe harbor in an unoccupied home in GraceTown. Soon after their arrival, worries of the past seem to fade into oblivion and a new life starts to easily fall into place. With Violet's uncanny resemblance to the statue of an Angel who saved the town over 100 years ago, is she just a teen without a home, or something more? This third installment in the GraceTown series continues the magic and mystery of GraceTown, MD alive with a new set of characters to love. This book has it all: angst, mystery, friendship, and of course romance.
This is the third book in the GraceTown series, but can be read as a standalone.
I was intrigued from the beginning by the statement that Jenna and Violet look alike as it let's you know that something exciting is going to happen in Cindy's latest book. Jenna, Rosemary and Violet had out from Philadelphia on a road trip and see where the wind takes them. It quickly takes them to GraceTown.
We get a brief update on Charlie, Hannah & Lisa. And the newcomers venture into Sophie’s antique shop & see a small stone angel statue that looks just like the larger version in town.
This book is filled with an intriguing mystery that surrounds Violet and GraceTown and if you liked the first two books in this series you'll definitely like this one!
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Another sweet, magical installment in the GraceTown series. This is the third book in the series, but each book can be read as a standalone. I highly recommend reading all three in order though!
Jenna is a nurse who has to quickly get out of town, along with her aunt and friend. Daniel is struggling to write his next book and is looking for some peace and inspiration.
This is a lovely story about two people learning that sometimes what you need is right in front of you. And sometimes, the unexplained doesn't need an explanation.
I also loved the side story of watching Aunt Rosemary finf herself again. As well as the history behind GraceTown and the angel in the square.
I recommend this book for anyone looking for a sweet, light story about what's possible when you listen to the truth you have inside.
Sweet story of redemption and second chances. Do angels exist today? "Nurse Jenna Woodsen doesn’t know anything about the Angel of GraceTown or the statue honoring her in the community’s town square. Or is his appearance part of a bigger plan that will allow Jenna to face her past and fully embrace the life she’s found in GraceTown?" synopsis copied
GraceTown is such a special place where strange things can happen and nobody bats an eye. Jenna is a nurse and the caretaker for her Aunt. She decides on a last minute road trip to flee her work issues in Philadelphia and also to protect her Aunt. Violet, the 18 year old that recently aged out of the system, spots them while hitchhiking and suggests they head to GraceTown where then end up staying at an empty home owned by a Daniel, a writer that lives in New York. Violet claims Jenna is Daniel's fiancé to keep the caretakers suspicion at ease. One Daniel shows up in GraceTown, things change, miracles happen and the happily ever after happens for everyone involved. I enjoyed this book and look forward to more miracles in GraceTown.
We meet Jenna, a home nurse in the city who also works in a group home where she meets Violet. Due to a loss in funding Jenna's job at the group centre is cut and she then gets an offer from the husband of the lady she cares for. His sleazy offer is refused and he accuses Jenna of stealing and assaulting him. Jenna and her aunt Rosemary leave Philadelphia in a hurry and stumble upon Violet who is heading to Gracetowm. What follows is a delightful story of good things happening to good people. Jenna opens her heart to Daniel and Daniel opens his heart and his home to Jenna, Rosemary and Violet. This is such a feelgood read that makes you smile/
I was given an Advanced Readers Copy in exchange for an honest review and I loved it. A definite 5 star read for me.
This is a wonderful, fun to read story. You do not need to have read previous books in this series to fully enjoy this one.
Jenna has befriended a young woman, Violet, in a foster care facility who is turning 18. Jenna suddenly finds herself on the run with her her great-aunt and finds Violet hitchhiking. Together they head to a town that Violet knows. As they enjoy an unoccupied house and start to fall in love with the community, the owner of the house suddenly shows up.
Violet has almost magical abilities and great insight. I read the book in one sitting and enjoyed it tremendously. Even though Violet is an angel, there are no religious overtones so this book can be read and enjoyed by anyone, regardless of religious beliefs.
My heart went out to Jenna and what happened to her. Bless Violet who came alongside and helped her move forward.
I already knew that as a foster kid and teenager she was unique. To learn the truth after seeing miracles and her selfless acts was not a surprise to me or those around her.
GraceTown is a special place! What if more places were like that? Then the men like Michael Menard, who was rich and powerful, would have not existed or been so mean.
Daniels heart also knew how special the women were who squatted in his home. I am refreshed by stories like this. I always make sure I have a day to read these books so I don’t have to stop because I always get lost in their lives.
Violet ages out and is on her own. Jenna sees the need to flee with her elderly Aunt after she is going to be wrongly accused for a theft. Jenna gives Violet a lift, as Jenna and her Aunt are leaving town in the same direction that Violet is going. Violet gets them to stay with her in an "abandoned" well kept home. They are enjoying this respite and agree to stay longer with Jenna posing as the owner's finance. And, then Daniel shows up. A heart warming story that keeps you cheering for all of the characters as lives are given second chances and love abounds. I read this as an ARC reader and have given my review freely.
