Cherishing Whiskey's Salvation: A Whiskey Salvation Series Novella by Chrissy Hartmann is a add on to the first book A Whiskey’s Salvation. This book is from Charlie’s perspective; Evie’s father.
I love how this book gave us an inside look at Evie’s father Charlie who made a brief appearance in the book before this one. I enjoyed how Chrissy Hartmann wrote of the tension he felt that by supporting his daughter that he was somehow betraying his wife. Everything that he had to go through with the release of someone who took his daughter; was so well written. This book like the first was very well written and I felt myself feel the emotions that were written. There was much care with the storytelling and the details that were described! I enjoyed that Charlie felt he had to do whatever it took to keep his family safe even from themselves. It was a great slice of life read! I enjoyed this as equally as the first book which I recommend you read first.
Final review: 5 out of 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ For Charlie and everything he does 5 out of 5 cups of coffee ☕️☕️☕️☕️☕️
Engaging. I voluntarily agreed to read an ARC copy supplied by the author. All thoughts, opinions, and comments are my own.
Cherishing Whiskey's Salvation by Chrissy Hartmann is a fun-filled, heartwarming read that follows Charlie Stockton, a retired United States Army colonel and Texas cattle rancher. When his daughter, Evie Mae, plans to reopen a homeless shelter and quit her high-powered job at his wife’s company, Charlie faces a whole new set of challenges that has nothing to do with ranching. Caught in the middle of supporting his daughter but feeling like he is also betraying his wife, which is not helping his faltering marriage, Charlie just wants peace with a good cup of coffee, not to mention loyalty and family love.
This stand-alone sweet novella skillfully foreshadows the author’s debut novel, Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation, and once again shows Chrissy Hartmann's ability to craft a truly engaging, character-driven story.
“Cherishing Whiskey’s Salvation” is a great follow-up to those wanting a bigger picture behind the scenes of Whiskey, Texas.
There are more than Evie’s motives here at play in the original previous novel “Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation.” What did her father Charlie Stockton go through as he tried to balance the tug of his daughter spreading her wings and his wife’s desire to control a cosmetics dynasty? Charlie has thirty-plus years to make up to his wife. How will he handle his daughter’s kidnapper’s pending release from prison? Is it worth getting a private investigator involved?
Clean, sweet, fun, this story makes a good book end for Chrissie’s previous novel. I also liked how the chapters ended in text messages. It made the story seem more personal and immediate. If you haven’t read “Rescuing Whiskey’s Salvation,” I would suggest you do that first.
Charlie: “Coffee. Now that’s a real man’s giddy up.”
This second chance romance isn't like all the novellas out there. It's a great stand-alone read, and it's sweet to see characters from her debut novel. I love the fact that the story is written from Charlie's POV. He's easy to connect with. He's a husband that truly cherishes his wife, even if he doesn't agree with her. I'm looking forward to the next book coming out.
check out Rescuing Whiskey's Salvation, book 1 to the Whiskey Salvation Seris if you haven't already. Book 2 hopefully coming soon. Enjoy! And thanks for reading!📖🩷😘
