Not so long ago...
In a security office not so far away...
There was a handsome geek named Dash Slater, who thought he'd never find love.
Until one night when a ball of fire interrupted his date.

Oh Dash *sigh* I've had a soft spot for the brooding and serious owner of Slater Security since he first came onto the scene. I had a feeling he had seen some horrible things and had some secrets. He always intrigued me. Why was this handsome, smart, built man married to his job. Why hasn't he found his one and only.

Turns out, he was waiting for a preschool teacher.

I think a few of us can relate to Lake. Looking for love but never finding it. Dating men that aren't the ones for us. Feeling like we'll never find our HEA.
But once you stop looking, the right man will fall into your lap.

The fact that Lake thinks she's boring is nowhere near the truth. She secretly has a badass warrior hiding under her sweet preschool teacher personality. It just took the right man to bring it out in her.

Dash and Lake are night and day. Perfectly perfect for each other.

Well, this is a the very best page turner. Definitely starts with a bang and keeps on going. I love the main characters of Dash Slater, who I tend to think of as everyone’s Dad being that he’s the man behind the security firm, and our preschool teacher Lake Sullivan. They meet in a very unusual way and let’s just say they are off and running upon meeting.

I love romantic suspense; this book checks all my boxes and, oh yes, give me those Star Wars references too because my man Dash? He’s all about Star Wars!

The love story for Dash and Lake is so well interwoven into all of the action that it fits perfectly with the story, as their time together moves through a week, and they more than bond; they become a full functioning unit as their love grows and their hearts and souls click into place.

This story has a James Bond/Kindergarten Cop vibe even if Lake never did any type of security work before she’s a brave bad@$$ throughout this entire story.

I’m always looking for that swoon worthy hero…I mean romantic suspense is my jam and I can honestly say I found him In Operation Fire Bomb! Dash is the perfect combination of an alpha hero and a hidden sweetness that only someone special will be able to see. Lake of course, is that someone special, but it’ll take a lot of courage on both their parts to find their HEA.

I absolutely adored Lake from the very beginning!!! She may seem shy and hesitant but given the opportunity, she’ll definitely become a fierce warrior in her own way and ohhh does Dash bring out her strengths in a big way!!!

Charissa Gracyk completely wowed me yet again with this amazing action packed adventure and I am already anxious to jump onboard for the next story she creates!!!

Brilliant job!!! I most definitely recommend this book, as well as the whole series!!!

I always have such an adrenaline spike when reading Charissa's books. My heart is beating so fast and I force myself to read faster and faster to find out what is going to happen! This was started off that way immediately and I'm not sure my heart rate ever slowed. I love that the match for Dash was able to find ways to take care of and protect him when he is always the one in the role of protector.

I was so afraid this was the last book in the Slater Security series. Happy to find out at the end that there will be a story for Finn. I don't know how Charissa keeps coming up with these adventurous, frightening story lines with the perfect love matches but I'm glad she does!

This book is action packed! I was exhausted at the end, the storyline gave me James Bond/Indiana Jones vibes.

“Slater, Dash Slater” is a full on geek with muscles, he runs Slater security and is ex special forces, oh and loves Star Wars.
The story begins with Dash being set up for a romantic date, he’s a workaholic but agrees to the date.

He meets Cameron, but quickly realises there’s no connection, just as the date is coming to the an end, Cameron’s sister Lake runs in with trouble following fast. This is what Dash knows best, he goes into protection mode, but not before noticing Lake’s beauty.

Action and suspense ensues, we are taken on an adventure across Europe including jumping trains, escaping bad guys, rolling off mountains, experiencing the mile high club 🥵🫠 oh and eating Nutella *fans self* 🤤🫠🥵

Blakely “Lake” Sullivan is a preschool teacher with little experience, this all changes when she meets Dash.

OH. MY. SWEET. JESUS‼️‼️‼️
I’ve been looking forward to reading Dash’s story, it’s had a build up within previous books that I worried wouldn’t match the story but dear lord, if this book was any better I’d be a twin!! Lol

I’m blown away by the beauty and depth of the characters and situations they find themselves in. I could literally feel myself there with them, my heart and mind racing as we struggle to escape. It was exhilarating!!

Dash is such a powerful and larger than life character. He speaks to me on a visceral level, and lord help me I couldn’t get enough!!

He’s , without a doubt, a domineering and protective alpha male, dedicating his life to helping the innocent and doing his damndest to eliminate evil. But, he’s also so much more. He has such a beautiful soul, he would give his life for those he considers to be family.

He’s gentle and understanding. He works hard to keep his demons at bay in order to function day in and day out. He’s such a lovable nerd, and while I can’t stand Star Wars, I adore Nutella, and let me tell you, I will NEVER think of it the same way again lol

Dash truly is the whole package. He’s everything we all secretly dream of when we imagine out perfect man.

Lake is such a surprise. I never would have imagined someone as ordinary, and by that I mean not an ex military badass) would have snagged Dash’s interest. But you know what - it was perfect!! Lake is a beautiful soul, living a simple life. She’s a very giving person. Her personality just draws you in and yearns to be her friend. She’s open and accepting and someone I would love to have in my life.

Watching her take everything in stride when her life turns into one scary scenario after another was awe inspiring.

Lake is a woman I could envision myself to be. An open and gentle side, then hey presto she’s a badass who’s willing to do anything to protect the people who have become her friends.
Watching her evolve was spellbinding!!

I sit here imagining what my boring and simple life could become if only I was lucky enough to have Dash and his team storm into my life and let me tell you my imagination is going berserk!!

Watching Dash and Lake traverse their rocky road, ferreting out evil and they fall in love was just magnificent!!
Lake had no problem in seeing beyond the tough alpha exterior Dash shows, to the beautiful and gentle nerd whose every facet shines brightly and pulls you in before you can catch your breath.

As you can probably guess from this review, I freakin’ adored Dash and Lake’s story.

Charissa Gracyk is one of the best and most talented authors I’ve ever known. She gives nothing less than 200% to every story she writes. Each word creates a spellbinding world you just never want to leave.

She writes with a love and talent that simply takes your death away.

I would have to count every star in the universe to be able to portray just how incredible this story is!!

4.75 stars for this fast paced, spicy, s3xy romantic suspense/thriller! These books are so great, they get right into the story quickly, and things move fast, barely giving you a moment to breathe. The prologue give you a brief and heart pounding peek into Dash and Lake’s harrowing future, and then we are taken back to the beginning of their story. One of the things I loved about this book is that this isn’t a case where she gets caught up in one of Dash’s cases and finds herself in need of rescue/protection. In fact, it’s her situation that drops itself in Dash’s lap, and after their instant chemistry clicks into place, Dash’s protective and badass instincts kick right into gear. There’s also the little blip where he’s actually on a (first) date with Lake’s sister when they meet and are propelled into danger - but again, this doesn’t follow any traditionally angsty path here. Dash and Lake’s sister are both in agreement (even if they didn’t say it to each other) that there really wasn’t anything between them, and so there is no drama of ‘you were dating my sister’ happening here. In fact, Lake’s sister sees their connection too, and whole heartedly, and early on, gives her full blessing.

This is fast moving, romantic suspense at it’s best. The pacing of the story is great, revealing the mysterious plot at just the right speed, and propelling Dash and Lake into their relationship without it feeling overly rushed. It’s most definitely an insta-love situation, but they also spend a TON of time together, just the two of them, and their chemistry is off the charts. The suspense plot is what great movies are made of, and I love how that all unfolded as well. And Lake may not be the typical action heroine by any stretch, it’s pretty impressive how she handles herself in many of these situations, opting to get out of her own way an make things happen for a change.

It’s an interesting point to note that Lake is 32, and a vîrgīn. The story behind this really makes totally sense, and is completely believable, so it doesn’t detract at all. And even better is Dash’s response when he learns this. As I have repeatedly said, the chemistry here is off the charts. Dash and his adorable love of all things Star Wars, and Lake in all her preschool teacher, sweet and s3xy glory, have some surprisingly extra spicy moments, and I am totally here for all of it. And as we see all the rest of the team, couples from the prior books that we know and love, as well as a few Project Phoenix cameos that absolutely made me smile, this entire book from start to finish was a crazy, wild, and fantastic ride.

More Than Dash of Suspense, and Seriously High Heat

There’s always that one character in a series who fights everything and everyone to prove they’re not HEA material. And in Charissa Gracyk’s Slater Security series, Dash Slater is that character. Or, well, he was. Enter Operation: Fire Bomb, and mild-mannered school teacher Lake Sullivan, and consider Dash’s plan to remain a forever-bachelor, well, dashed.

Gracyk puts her stellar suspense skills to work to create a fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat, seriously steamy love story that puts the opposites-attract trope front and center, and proves why it will forever be one of my favorite tropes. Slater Security readers have longed for the enigmatic and mysterious Dash’s story, and Lake brings it out in perfect fashion. Who says badasses can’t be geeks? And who says preschool teachers can’t be badasses? Because when they’re in Gracyk’s capable hands, they can and will do it all.

Oh, and let’s not forget the steam, too. Because Gracyk definitely knows how to bring that. And Dash is the perfect match for Lake when it comes to desire, need, and those protective instincts innate in his character. Their match is so much deeper than lust, and it’s truly wonderful to see how quickly their relationship escalates, along with the peril they find themselves in.

The Slater Security series always brings the humor with the suspense, and Fire Bomb is no exception. I love the movie references throughout. And the banter between Lake and Dash, as well as the rest of the Slater team, is on-point as always. I do recommend clearing your day, or calling in sick tomorrow, to read this, because you will not want to put it down.

While Operation: Fire Bomb can be read as a standalone, you’re going to want to read the rest of the series anyway. So, either jump straight in with Dash and Lake, but be prepared to series binge after, or start from the beginning and get the true Dash experience.

Oh my gosh! I love Dash and Lake!

This is book 4 in Slater Security and it is awesome! This book has action around every corner and of course romance that turns up the heat with Dash and Lake!

Lake finds out that someone put an illegal substance in her bag at the airport and after reaching their destination, tried to get it back but Lake fought them from taking her bag and thought she got away, well until they followed her in the cab. Not wanting them to know where she lived, she had the cab driver to take her to where her sister is having her date tonight, a public place is what she needs. When she comes face to face with her sister she gets a glimpse of the man sitting across from her, and she is utterly speechless.

Dash works 24/7 and has no time for a relationship but did give in and at least meet up with someone just to get his co-workers off his back. Not having a good time and ready to call it a night, Nash was ready for the date to end, or he was until his date’s sister shows up frantically saying someone is following her. Dash has not been this taken with a woman in a very long time. What kind of spell does she have on him?

I really enjoyed reading this book and now I am back tracking to read the series! Can’t wait for Finn and Ivy’s story in Slater Security book 5!

Operation: Fire Bomb was such a spectacular book! Dash and Lake's story was a thrill ride from beginning to end! From the U.S. to Italy to Russia - it was a non-stop, amazing adventure that I wished would never end.

We've received glimpses into the mysterious Dash's life and personality in the previous Slater Security books. I expected some deep trauma buried inside our Star Wars-loving Hero with the killer cheekbones and gorgeous eyes. I couldn't wait to hear his full story and meet the feisty heroine who would allow Dash to open up and set it free. He's a tough former Delta Force commander, dedicated to safeguarding people around the world. He's quiet and serious, and a steadfast, protective Alpha who doesn't believe love is for him. What kind of fierce warrior woman would capture Dash's well-guarded heart?

In a million years I NEVER would have expected Lake! What a refreshing surprise she was! An unassuming preschool teacher, a virgin, (and she had never seen Star Wars!). These two seem Light Years apart, but OH. MY. GOSH. They were truly made for each other. As Lake reveals herself to us (and to herself!), we find she is incredibly brave and strong, and she is indeed a fierce warrior woman.

Ms. Gracyk has quickly become one of my favorite authors! Her character development, her world-building, and her skill at writing heart-pounding, thrilling suspense and steamy, profound love stories is phenomenal. I can't read her books fast enough to suit me, and I know these are books I will read over and over again. Don't miss Dash and Lake's story. Operation: Fire Bomb is opposites attract PERFECTION, and it is one of the most exciting romantic suspense books I've ever read.

chased by some very big, bad Russians after something they put in her travel bag.
Lake Sullivan is in over her head as bullets fly. Rescued by her sister’s date, Dash Slater, the two go on
an adventure of Indiana Jones proportions. Car crashes, chases, jetting around the world adds to the
romance and action that Charissa Gracyk pours into all her books. Lake and Dash remind me of Han Solo
and Leia. (I believe that was the author’s intent). There are plenty of Star Wars references that make
this fan laugh. I love the banter, the action and the romance.
Finishing this book was like leaving a good summer action blockbuster with smexy times. LOVE this

The blind date was not going well for Dash Slater owner of Slater Security. Neither he nor Cameron seemed interested in “small talk” until her sister Blakely “aka Lake” ran into the restaurant. It wasn’t just the immediate attraction he felt when he saw her, but the thugs and bullets flying that really got his attention. Getting them out of the restaurant, Lake tells him of the men who tried to grab her at the airport. The search for a dangerous chemical, which was found in her travel bag, will lead them to Switzerland, Italy and Russia. Lake unbelievably seems able to get herself out of one dangerous situation after another, after all, she is a preschool teacher and used to sticky situations. As they flee for their lives, their attraction flares out of control. He has never felt this way about a woman and Lake finally gets “all the feels” and “sparkly butterflies” when she is in his arms. Will they survive the last threat and make it out alive? Hot romance, danger and suspense make this a fast-paced read. This was a first read for me from Charissa Gracyk. I met her at Charm City Romanticon in March and saw that she was offering up arcs of Operation: Fire Bomb and thought why not...
Obvs it's book 4 in a series, which I've read absolutely none of the first 3, yet it didn't hinder my reading. Actually, upon meeting the cast of characters I can't wait to go back and start at the beginning.
OFB has a lot of James Bond feels. With all of the action, suspense and smut it's a great all around read! Charissa's writing was fast paced, descriptive without being "wordy", with great characterization. She really brought Dash and Lake to life.
Dash personifies the perfect book boyfriend. He's strong, alpha, witty, kind, thoughtful, and oh so sexy. Lake is down to earth, fun loving and down for just about anything. They make a perfect couple and I can't wait to visit them again in books down the road.
I totally enjoyed this book, the characters, and the author's writing style. She kept me reading, kept me entertained, and made me invested in the characters in the series. Time to download the rest of the series so I can really meet those kick a$$ heroines!

4.5 stars. This is my first read by this author and Book 4 of a series no doubt. I was so intrigued by the premise of Lake crashing her sisters blind date with none other than just the right man to save her preschool teacher butt, Dash. Far from boring, Lake’s life is anything but from this point forwards. I loved how easily Dash and Lake got along and they just worked. It wasn’t overdone and even though Dash seemed to be so in control of every situation, it was heart wrenching to see his vulnerability when that was taken away and his PTSD crushing him even more. Lake held her own and kept herself together no matter how out of her element she was, just enough to help Dash out rather than be a hinderance.

I was mostly able to follow the story as a standalone. The only confusion I had was at the beginning, I thought ‘Fallon’ and ‘Pierce’ were two different people but I worked out they were the same person as the story went on and I had to reread that sentence.

I received an ARC from BookSirens and there were a few typos throughout but not enough to detract from the story. I am voluntarily leaving this review.

I love this series. A delightful mix of lighthearted and serious, it’s low angst and yet thrilling with more than a dash of 🔥romance

Dash is our cool, calm, collected and in control leader of Slater security. I mean hello….he is responsible for keeping Dangerous, Loco and Deadly in check!

Well don’t we just see the other side to him. Suave, yes, handsome, of course, protective, obviously, unabashedly falling for Blakely, wait what!!! Yes he falls hard, he falls fast and he falls for the one woman who might just be what he needs.

A teacher, (sorry preschool teacher!! IYKYK) Blakely (Lake) bursts unexpectedly into Dash’s life and inadvertently brings along with her some danger and intrigue which is right up Dash’s street.

Both in unexpected places, Lake experiencing more excitement than she’s ever known and Dash experiencing feelings for a woman, they journey a dangerous road and bring romance in spades with them

Loved it, need some Nutella and can’t wait for Finn’s story

Exciting romantic thriller. I loved the way the story started with preschool teacher, Lake, crashing security expert, Dash’s date with her sister! The story hooks the reader from the start as, unknowingly, Lake has been targeted by terrorists who have planted an item on her to transport on an aircraft. The action rarely stops for more than short periods and keeps the pace up throughout the novel. Both Dash & Lake are likeable characters and I particularly enjoyed the fact that innocent Lake is no ‘shrinking violet’ proving she can handle the danger and adapt to it. Dash is hooked on her almost from the start and is determined to protect her and get to the bottom of the danger into which she has been thrown. My only hesitation in giving 5* was that I felt some of the smaller details were irritatingly skipped over (such as the way they seem to be able to travel from international location to location without passports or anything!). An enjoyable read with a great HEA, a stand-alone book in a series.

The fourth book in the Slater Security series is all about Dash Slater. He's watched his team find their HEAs and he's a little frustrated. So he agrees to a date from an online dating app. Little does he know he's about to meet his one and only. It's an exciting "meet cute", I say that tongue in cheek, because as soon as Dash meets Lake bullets are flying. Their adventure to love begins immediately and is a jaunt across Europe that ultimately leads to their HEA. This is a fast-paced book with loads of excitement and adventure. I loved the references to classical Jazz music and Lake's love of Frank Sinatra. And there is no way I could not be cheering Dash's passion for Star Wars. Yeah, under all that tough Special Forces exterior is a true Star Wars nerd. Beautiful! This was a charming book from an author I am just beginning to know. I enjoyed her Operation Phoenix series immensely and this one has been just as fun.

This book needs to be made into a movie! From the first chapter, Gracyk makes you fall in love with the characters. Both have their hang ups when it comes to finding a partner but you know those are about to get turned on their ear.

Dash is a regular James Bond with a geeky side and watching him fall is so satisfying. Especially when his possessive alpha side comes out! Yum-my!

Lake is a woman who’s had bad luck with men, but it doesn’t stop her from taking a chance on Dash. He’s the protector, but she saves him too in more ways than one when the adventure they’re on turns dangerous.

Travel across Europe, danger, and intrigue combine with a romance sure to burn up the pages in this stunner by talented author, Charissa Gracyk. Download it now because you don’t want to miss out on this epic adventure!

Lake is traveling and finds herself being chased by Russians due to the fact they stashed something in her luggage. She flees to her sister where she finds her on a first date/blind date with Dash, the head of Slater Security. The pair feel an instant connection and begin a whirlwind romance full of action, adventure and steam.

Lake is the sweet, innocent type (in all senses of the word) and makes a great match for the closet nerd that is Dash. Despite the situation they find themselves in, they manage to find a way to have some seriously explosive chemistry.

I didn't like the whole sister bit, with her sister being on a date with him and then Lake just kind of swoops in and steals him. Even though she gave her blessing pretty early on, I feel like she was cheated out on her date and it made me dislike Lake for doing that to her sister.

This is book four in the Slater Security series. Each book is written to stand on its own but you'll definitely get to see characters from the previous books, Dash is their boss and owner of Slater Security. He devastatingly handsome, a great boss, and takes workaholic to a whole other level. Fallon "Dangerous", Eden "Loco" and Sailor "Deadly" have found happiness with their men and have taken it upon themselves to find the boss man a woman, someone to make him as happy as they are. Dash isn't looking for love but when he lays eyes on Lake the first time he knows his world is about to change. Hot, steamy, fast paced you'll be turning the pages to the very end. Loved their story. It ex-military muscle all over the place in OPERATION: FIRE BOMB. A security outfit of former SEAL team men and women (and their partners) take on a mission to get their leader a date and it ends up being an international escapade complete with undercover work, kidnapping, arms dealers and an unwitting participant in the lovely Lake.

Dash Slater is the workaholic boss with PTSD demons and meeting Lake sets off his growly possessive instincts. Lake learns how much of a tough girl she can be alongside her man.

It is a quick read for those that love suspense romances with highly qualified former military men and women.

I love it when there is a seamless integration of random romance and highly implausible mystery/spycraft/etc. This book has it all in spades from an innocent preschool teacher assaulted as she tries to get in a cab at the airport, the handsome owner of protection/security company. He's on a date with her sister and there's no real chemistry. Enter the teacher who happens to remember the restaurant where her sister was going on her date. Enter thugs with guns and were off and running.

Good pace, reasonable character development. It's not a short book, but you'll probably blow through it as it's hard to put down.

This is such a brilliant read about two people who shouldn't work but are just as quirky as each other.
Lake finds something in her bag that's got big burly dangerous Russians chasing her, when her sisters date, Dash from Dash Slater Security steps up.
I loved Dash. Mr big hot macho guy who underneath is a big need. Who is totally gone over fiesty red head preschool teacher, Lake. I enjoyed how she always steps up to do what's needed.
This book was so well done, all of them backing up each other and just loveable characters.
It's been a brilliant series and looking forward to few next book. So good I highly recommend it!!

Dash Slater, closet nerd, former Special Ops commander and lover of all things Star Wars, is the owner and head of Slater Security. Lake Sullivan is pre school teacher, virgin and has never seen Star Wars!!!! Lake comes home from a teacher conference being chased by Russians, who stashed something in her luggage. Not wanting to lead them to her home, she goes to see her sister, who happens to be on a blind date with Dash. Dash takes one look at Lake and knows he is a goner!!!!! Their story is dreamy, funny and suspensful!!!!! Good to see the guys from Project Phoenix also!!!!! I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤

This is an action packed adventure of the best kind. It has romance, a truck load of steam - I guess we should have expected Dash to be as take charge and sexy in bed as out of it – and nonstop action that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the start to the very end. Best of all, we get to see the nerd in the dashing navy suit get absolutely blown away by the feisty red headed preschool teacher Lake.
Ms. Gracyk has given us a book that's easy to read, mile a minute action, and great banter between our Slater Security team members. A fantastic addition to the Slater Security series, can't wait to see what comes next for former Night Stalker Finn.

Dash has been persuaded by his 'Charlie's Angels' to try Internet dating. He's out with Lake's sister, Cam, having dinner and deciding that there's no way he wants a second date! Then Lake rushes in and explains someone's tried to mug her and steal her bag. Dash is immediately attracted to her and, as the head of Slater Security, suggests they go back to his office. Where they find a vial in her bag.
Throw in some Russians, an Italian, a train ride, a car crash and other adventures and you get a great adventure.

This is the 4th book in the Operation series by Charissa Gracyk This is Dash and Lake’s story. Nothing ever happens to me was the catch cry of Lake, a pre-school teacher who leads an uninteresting life. That is all about to change. He's on a blind date when a beautiful woman dashes in, runs to her sister and says she's in trouble. Just as she is relating what happened to her, Gunmen start shooting, Dash goes into protection mode and tries to get to sisters to safety. He takes them to Slater Security offices. Excellent!

I sat on pins and needles waiting for this story, and it did not disappoint! I love how Dash and Lake met. They were perfect for each other. The serious workaholic, turned romantic, and the laid-back preschool teacher turned badass. Being a former preschool teacher, I love that part! I cheered for her, getting not only the love of her life, but also the adventures of a lifetime.
Great job, Charissa Gracyk! Another winning series!
I'm looking forward to Finn and Ivy.
