Experience the island through her eyes and her budding self-discovery as she explores the possibilities of a future with Jack. Be witness to the author pitfalls and celebrations as she creates her next best-selling novel. You will enjoy her story...without a doubt.
Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living in Florida with her husband. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels.
After graduating art school, marrying, and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. Her 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world and her love of rock music is the inspiration for her erotic rock star romances.
The Rock Gods series gave her Bestselling Author status on Amazon. Beyond The Music, Book 7 in the series, reached #1 in Gay Erotica in the Pre-Order and held that spot for several weeks. The last book in the series launches the spin-off series, Guarding The Gods, which is releasing in early summer 2016.
Fall For Me, Book One in the series was a Finalist in the 2013 Rainbow Award. Each book in this series brings her two favorite elements together: musicians and the love between two men. These stories focus on what it truly means to love; love unconditionally, love without restrictions or labels, love without fear or judgment – to just simply love.

Without a Doubt by Ann Lister starts off with Callie having a bad case of writer’s block. Her editor “encourages” her to go on a winter retreat to Martha’s Vineyard to get through this rough patch and get back on track. Callie does not plan on meeting someone like Jackson Brody, a local contractor, who does his best to try to swipe her off her feet.
Since Callie initially sees Jackson kissing another woman she is very hesitant about getting involved but takes the plunge and agrees to go slowly. The ex-wife and another woman who wants to be in a relationship with Jackson cause a lot of headache and hardships for Callie and Jackson. Ms. Lister does a great job drawing the reader into the lives and feelings of both characters. We experience firsthand the emotions each of them feel throughout. The reader can expect to experience a wide range of emotions as well. I laughed as well as cried and in a couple spots I wanted to throw the book across the room.
Without trying to give any spoilers, there was an issue later on the book that I felt went on a bit too long. Being the optimist that I am, I would have loved for it to have been resolved a lot sooner than it really was. Although I suppose this gives it a realistic feel and lends credibility to the story as real life definitely isn’t easy.
This is the 2nd book of Ms. Lister’s that I have read and she is definitely going on my watch list. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.
The narration was great. The use of different tones for the characters made them believable, as I could easily differentiate between multiple. characters. Now the book... Only open the link if you definitely want to know details.
Just......... Speechless. True fact, 'Never judge a book by it's cover'. This book was written before the Author wrote her M/M Romance series, The Rock Gods. Because I enjoyed the Rock Gods so much, I wanted more from this writer and I started reading her M/F collection. This story took my breath away. I had so many emotions running through me, I couldn't believe how invested I was in this story. I was most definitely hooked.
Callie is a beautiful woman who writes romance novels, I know, right? A romance Author writing about a character that writes romance. It makes for a very interesting read. Callie has spent her whole life studying then working endlessly to achieve her dreams. She's never really dated and her social life is nonexistent. I mean sure she has friends but do they really know her? She is sent to live on an island, her editor believing this will be just what she needs. Oh how true this turns out to be or does it. Life really never does run smoothly.
Jackson Brody, swoon!! He is drool worthy, a man you could really sink your teeth into. I get shivers just thinking about his hotness. He runs his own business, has lived on the island all his life and not a single woman would turn him down. Jackson has been hurt in the past and doesn't expect he'd ever settle down again. Who really knows what the future holds. Never say never.
Callie and Jackson become great friends, despite some of Jackson's old flames trying to cause trouble. Jealousy is an ugly trait. I suppose almost all relationships hit a few bumps along the way. When Callie goes on a business trip for a few days, she couldn't be happier. When she returns nothing is the same. What she believes to what is actually true causes both Callie and Jackson's life to change.
Something really tragic happens and forces Callie to return to the island. God I was so upset by this point in the story, everything that previously happened seemed like a lifetime ago.
Without a doubt I loved this story and I believe that all lovers of romance will love it too.
I'm going to start off by saying I absolutely loved this book. This is the very first book I have read by this author and I am so glad that I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. I am definitely following this author now and look forward to reading other books by her.
Callie (Callista) is a best selling author and is having difficulties writing her next book. With a deadline looming her editor has her stay in Martha's Vineyard for the winter hoping a change of scenery is just what Callie needs to get her creativity flowing. I think it so neat that a romance author is writing about a romance author. Who can relate to a character better than that! I could actually feel Callie's struggles with her writer's block.
Her seriously hot neighbor, Jackson Brody and her become very good friends. They are both leery of 'relationships' . Jackson was dealt the biggest blow a person can get in his marriage. His wife left him for his best friend. I think it goes without saying that he struggles with the idea of anything long term and with Callie only here for the winter it seems ideal that they pal around together. Callie doesn't have much experience with relationships and does her best to keep Jackson at arms length at first. The more they hang around together the deeper their friendship seems to get.
They start building a future together and one huge misunderstanding tears it all apart. There is a reason why ex's are ex's. That's the only spoiler I'm going to give on that.
Through tragedy they have a possible second chance. They just both have to be willing to be willing to be responsive, forgive and move on.
I felt this book very well written. I love that as I was reading a long that I laughed, I cried, and I actually got mad. I love a book that sucks me in that much.
This is a new to me author and I am so glad I started out with this book. I was given a copy for an honest review. Callista is a best-selling author. Working on her 4th book should be easy by now, but for the first time she’s blocked and about to be late for a deadline. Her editor decides that she needs to get away from the big city and head out to the island of Nantucket to get her creative juices flowing. Her first day there, she meets Jackson, one of her neighbors. Sparks fly, but Jack is gun shy. His wife left him for his best friend and he really doesn’t want to lose his heart to someone who is only there for the winter. These characters are easy to fall for. The storyline is great. When you find out about Callista, you’re in shock at first, but it makes sense when you look at the way her character behaves. Do I have you intrigued? Well good! The writing flows easily, swirling around the storyline. Don’t worry, this isn’t a sweet romance, there’s some intrigue as well, to get you rooting for the characters to get a chance at a Happily Ever After.

I love Ann Lister´s books- one of my all-time favourites being Fall for me (re-read 3 times already), so as soon as I saw this title I bought it. A book about a writer promised to be interesting, like a-book-within- a-book sort of story. The two dogs Rufus and Ginger are loveable sidekicks, although they do get left out quite a bit as the story progresses. I like the description of Martha´s vineyard topography- makes you want to buy a ticket and go and see for yourself. The end was a bit, well, forced- our two main characters had become stuck within their own stubbornness and there was no sensible way out. So the almighty author made the change happen to bring the story to a conclusion, it felt a bit like imposed on the character rather than a true development or choice they made. Well, it was still a good read, I enjoyed it.
Once again Ann Lister grabs you by your toes and makes you feel as if you are right there with her characters! I loved the basic bones of this book, an artist with writers block and a macho contractor that won't take no for an answer x with drama, sexiness and a storyline that just won't quit I thoroughly enjoyed every page x
