Women of Earth : Are you lonely? Unfulfilled? Haven’t had a toe-tingling, almost-blackout orgasm in longer than you can remember? Nora I just wanted a good man. A nice, polite, boy-next-door type. He didn’t have to be a male model or a sports star or a wealthy magnate—even if that was the kind of man I read about late at night, alone, in bed. So what if I dreamed of a man with big muscles and a commanding voice? That didn’t mean I wanted to date that guy. A nice accountant would work. Or an insurance salesman. But then I had another epically bad date, came home alone, drank half a pitcher of margaritas, and took a silly online quiz. Next thing I knew, I was agreeing to go on a date with the perfect man. I’d never used a dating service before but…why not? The old fashioned way hadn’t worked. Maybe Serendipity, Inc. would match me with a nice teacher or a dentist. Maybe I’d meet that boy next door I’d dreamt about. Daken For over a decade I fought for my planet. I dreamt of returning to CiFGa to live a peaceful life, and finally it’s happened. I’m home. We beat the invaders back, ground them into the dust, crippled their fleets, brought them to their knees. We shamed them. They won’t soon return to my world. The planetary leaders call me a hero, a CiFGan worthy of reward. After years of celibacy and bland rations, I don’t want wealth and titles. All I want is willing women and spicy food. What do I get? Knighted for bravery, enough credits to retire, and a betrothal contract. I’ve been saddled with a human bride.

Gemma Cates writes flirty paranormal, fantasy, and alien romances with plenty of the steamy stuff and a solid dash of humor. If you’re looking for hot otherworldly fun and laughter, she’s happy to oblige.
When Gemma’s not cooking up new happily-ever-afters for her fanged and clawed heroes and heroines, she might be writing books in other, sweeter genres. (She’ll never tell.)

Warning! Gemma’s books contain steamy vampire-human and shifter-human shenanigans and enough naughty words to make someone (not her) blush.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Some things seem unrealistic like being drugged and stolen from Earth but not reacting as one would expect because I would have to kill someone over that. Once I saw the reaction of Daken and as the story progressed I was more than satisfied and then the ending had me wanting to read the next story. I was so disappointed to not see the next book offered. I am glad to see a book that touches on the subject of war related PTSD in a respectful way.
So often lately, sci-fi romance is all about the spice and almost none about the actual world and couple. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know about CiFiGan, the additions of just a few characters was just the right touch to add culture and believability without overwhelming the story with extras, and the ending was lovely. I am, however, massively disappointed that the authors website claims the second book would be published fall of 23 but it is mid January 24 and the book still is not available as far as I can find.
Daken is a retired alien general who signs up for a human companion for 6 months of sex. He has no idea that the human female signed up for a dating app and they’ve both been bamboozled! It was sexy, steamy and a little sad since Daken suffered from PTSD which caused a serious problem in the long run. I thought Nora was all kinds of brave and feisty. I am looking forward to the next book.
I love Gemma’s writing. This book is witty, funny, and just an all around good time read. Both main characters are great credibly likable and you can feel the chemistry between them. I’m very excited about the world being built in this series and am looking forward to the next one.
Well I have to say that this was one of the best books I’ve read in a long time. I love the story line and I can’t wait for the next book to come out in the series. Please please hurry up and get it released. The story was Charming with misunderstanding, trauma, pain and finally understanding. I would recommend this book enjoy.
Despite dishonest premise of the dating service--on both sides--what is essentially an alien kidnapping turns out to be a perfect match... once we got through all the betrayals, unspoken fears, and real feelings.
Now the bugs have been worked out, it'll be interesting to see how the next match works out.
So alien kidnapping but the woman is barely concerned about it all. She is inexplicably horny and immediately willing to give dating a try despite being kidnapped and transplanted across the galaxy.
And she has zero concerns about her mom. She left behind a mom that she seems to like and not one iota of concern for disappearing and how that will destroy her mom.
Enjoyed this tale of aliens and huhmans getting it together. Both of them had a certain stubborn streak which made for a good story line. Maybe this story could be a get at our human male to be more flexible on their likes and dislikes.
This book was very entertaining and I absolutely loved it. Page turner. What we way to find your one.... The main characters kept me on my toes, especially the MMC with his keeping things.. My favorite part was the ending and the choice he made...
Had a nice time reading this book it is fast reading with a great set of characters and a fun storyline looking forward to reading the next books in the series
this was alright, good premise and the ptsd aspect was well done. Norah, the fmc was annoying and the "third" break up was stupid, skimmed to then end and wasn't worth the money I paid for.
