oh god, where do i even start? why did this book actually make me emo? why wasn’t it 50 pages longer? the way i read this in one sitting because i was immediately hooked!😫 i am obsessed to a concerning level (somebody restrain me)

okay, so basically we got our girl reggie, the daughter of the head of a colombian cartel, and roan, who’s part of the irish mob and brothers with cash and finn. when someone puts a hit on reggie, roan gets assigned to be her bodyguard until the danger blows over. reggie’s stubborn and doesn’t want the protection, but for roan, it’s just another job—until things get way more complicated than he expected.

if i could give this book the sloppy toppy? i would. everything was a 10/10 - the smut, the romance, their chemistry, their dynamic. i was gnawing at the bars of my enclosure . every page, every scene, every fucking chpater was a banger. i’ve had a lot of weird things enter my body but nothing gave me the amount of ecstasy that this book did.

listen to me when i say this: the bodyguard trope will always be superior! MAKE MY WORDS. cause GREEN, EGGS and DAMN! the way this man was all tough, cold, and ruthless looking but the moment reggie appeared, he crumbles in her presence... that shit needs to be studied‼️. he not only went as far as killing someone for her but literally almost getting himself killed for her sake. i am not joking when i say this, but my knees hit the floor in a grocery aisle when they were in a life and death situation and he chose death for her 😭. LIKE SIR, YOU GOT IT LIKE THAT? his whole character development was honestly flawlessly done.

i also love how their character traits canceled each other out, and they thaw and break down each other’s walls, brining out the best in each other. and hear me out when i say this—i rarely give a dark romance 5 stars because most of the time, the kinks and smut can be too heavy-handed or just feel forced for me. but this book? it found the perfect balance. what makes a 5-star read for me is how much i love and feel connected to the characters. like yes, this book has heavy smut and some kinks (which you should check trigger warnings for), but what truly sets it apart is the depth and development of the characters and their emotional journey to overcome past trauma and fears. and most importantly what really matters is that there was consent, trust, and respect at the center.

Breaking is often equated with ruin. But this doesn’t feel like ruin. It feels like the tired, weary pieces that were trying so hard to stay together are now relieved of that burden.

I don’t know what’s going on with the Fox family. Is it the genes or something they eating? The thing is, there isn’t a Fox brother that I don’t adore to pieces. It’s like they’re competing who will own my heart more. And to be honest… I can’t choose.

Roan was an amazing!!! Jagged all around with a wounded heart, an ambiguous moral compass, and a filthy mouth, he sure lured me in. And his protective side! There wasn’t an obstacle or a line, he wouldn’t cross to save his woman. I loved reading about him and being in his mind. He was different than his brothers. More grumpy and broken, trapped in his head. But, he shared that intriguing, fiery side that all Fox brothers seem to have and that alluring charisma. Ugh, I love the Fox family.

Reggie was such a strong fmc. Grown in the mafia without being a mafia princess, she owned her life, and her choices. She was introduced with a bang! A mafia daughter with gloomy thoughts, who found comfort surrounded by death. Don’t be confused, she wasn’t a k*ller. She was a doctor working in an institute, but it suited her perfectly. Because Reggie, although her darkness, she was bright with a flaming temper and a spirited psychosynthesis.

The mcs had an amazing attraction and the forced proximity suited them so well. I also loved the plot and the mystery surrounding it. I kind of guessed the final plot twist halfway but I still enjoyed reading it. The Fox series so far is incredible. Love it!

Ps. There are many dedications that I love. Some emotional, others cheeky and spicy but this one… well this one got me good!
You don't owe anyone your niceness, especially men.

4.5 ⭐️ This had no choice but to EAT. These books are just so damn fun, I love the spice and I love this world and these characters. Roan was a dark and delicious soul and Reggie was such a perfect match for him. This book is the darkest out of the 3 I’d say as a warning but it’s SO GOOD!!! ugh Roan became such a simp I adored how protective they both were over each other.

Over all these books are criminally underrated and if you like mafia, dark romance, spicy books JUST READ THEM

Вони тільки підживлювали травму і звинувачували його.
І ось одного дня Кеш, довіряє Роану охороняти принцесу картелю. Він понад все хотів щоб цю справу взяв на себе хтось інший з братів. Але коли трішки поспостерігав за Реджі, і побачив її вогняний характер в дії: коли вона приставила пістолет до його голови, вирішив все ж взятися за цю роботу.


Сюжет дуже цікавий, особливо якщо порівняти з попередньою книгою. Це розслідування хто ж вбивця всіх цих жінок дуже інтригувало, я мала кілька варіантів хто це може бути, і була права👌🏻
Любовна лінія теж дуже сподобалася, герої спочатку ненавиділи один одного, а потім з часом коли почали більше взаємодіяти зрозуміли, що дуже схожі.
Особливо було дуже цікаво спостерігати за головним героєм, та тим як він підпускає до свого серця головну героїню. Як він бориться з своєю психологічною травмою. Що також дуже важливо - книга пронизана буквально «струмом» між головними героями, всі ці емоції які вони тримали в собі, я відчувала кожен раз. Сцени 18+ дуже гарячі🔥🫣 впринципі як і в двох попередніх книгах, та тут є одна прям дуже пікантна сцена з 🔫
Але ніщо незрівняється з моїми емоціями під час їх першого поцілунку. 😍
Так є моменти в яких я хотіла щоб авторка дала більше деталей, але емоції ця книга подарувала круті👌🏻🔥
Тому ставлю цій книзі і головним героям 5/5🖤🔥

if i believed finn's story was heartbreaking, roan's was soulcrushing. the emotional damage this book triggered in me isn't short of monumental. i deeply related to the trauma rooted in both characters, roan feeling guilty over his mother's death paralleled with reggie's loss of sofia – when i've always blamed myself for my twin's death, who carried that same name. i somehow knew, going in, that this brother, this story, would impact me the most within this series. it's true what they say, like calls to like, and my demons seemed to recognize and find solace in theirs before i was even aware myself. after that epilogue, i'm just trying to keep me from breaking apart piece by piece, nothing i can say will make justice to this book.

I truly couldn’t put this down. I have torn through every book in this series in a matter of hours (and I’m not a fast reader). I absolutely LOVED the pacing of this one and I think Reggie & Roan are my favorite characters. ESPECIALLY Roans character development 😭 but the plot of this book gripped me and wouldn’t let me go.

I have been absolutely loving this series so far. If you're a fan of strong female characters then this is the book for you too. Tons of action, a dash of suspense, and a whole lot of really hot smexy times. The whodunit was pretty obvious, but other than that it rocked from beginning to end and even that didn't ruin anything since the entirety of the story was so fab! Can't wait to dive in to the last one of the series.

This is a dark romance, so make sure to check the trigger warnings. It is the third book in the Fox Family Crime Syndicate series, but it can be read as a standalone.

Roan Fox seems to be cold, cruel, and heartless. But in reality, he has a tragic past that has left him broken and tortured. Regenia Cortez (Reggie) is intelligent, bold, and fearless. She is a forensic pathologist and notices the dead bodies are displaying similarities. They seem to have some connection with her father who was the Cortez cartel kingpin. Now, she is in danger because of her father, so he hires Roan to protect her.

Reggie is a bada**, so she doesn’t feel like she needs a bodyguard; rather, she can take care of herself. Needless to say, she is less than happy when Roan shows up. He is relentless though and refuses to give up the job of being her bodyguard, no matter what she says or how she acts.

The tension between these two is strong. I mean, they really pushed each other’s buttons. They hate each other, but they also want each other. Roan is really struggling with the trauma of his past; he just can’t seem to get over it and is plagued with nightmares. But eventually, he is able to open up to Reggie.

Reggie and Roan just had so much chemistry, so when they finally gave in to their feelings, things were HOT. I mean, DAMN. Roan is a dirty talker and is all about degradation. He’s also very protective of her and not just because he’s her bodyguard. And Reggie? She knows her worth and her strength. She puts people in their place and does not back down.

I love how Roan actually got help and slowly healed his soul. Reggie and Roan were perfect for each other. Honestly, all of the Fox brothers are great, so I really can’t wait for the next book.

First of all, I knew it was going to be good because it’s Summer and this series is gold, but this book exceeded my expectations in every way!

The plot was good and unexpected, the character development and mental health representation were so well done, the banter and the tension were perfection, and the spice had my jaw drop 🥵 (I'm still thinking about the sp!ting scene more than a week after 🫠)

I don't want to tell you too much because the book is so worth it, and I don't want to spoil anything, but here's the sum up. Roan was so hot! I’m now torn between him and Cash for my favourite Fox brother, but that might also be because I’m just in love with Reggie!! She really was the definition of Do I want to be her, or to be with her 😮‍💨

Can't recommend it enough!!

Yo no entiendo que tiene esta autora, pero fan de todo lo que está mujer escribe.

Pensé en darle 5 estrellas, porque ha sido de los mejores de la saga (cada libro es mejor que el anterior) pero me tomó dos días leerlo, y no uno como el resto, entonces vamos a dejarlo en 4.75 y no 5. ¿Eso tiene sentido? No. Pero es lo que mi corazón desea así que déjenme.

Este es un poco más lento que el resto de la saga, pero tampoco lo consideraría un libro slow burn... ¿Tomó 20 capítulos para el primer beso? Sí. Pero los que lo leyeron saben porqué y es hermoso.

El plotwist 10/10. Muchos decían que se lo veían venir pero yo juraba que era otro.

En general, gran libro. Obviamente me leeré el siguiente y último de la saga. Y luego como hice con Michelle Heard y Jagger Cole (mis dos autores de mafia favoritos), me leeré todos sus libros de la misma temática.

4.5 | I honestly don’t know who I loved more, Reggie or Roan. They’re both head strong, fearless and total badasses. I loved that Reggie could hold her own and then some. Roan saw the darkness in her and loved her for it. Reggie isn’t the kind of person to just sit by when shit gets tough, she’s going to be elbows deep in the chaos. She was a little menace

- And that same darkness is the reason I don’t fear him because I recognize it for what it is; a cloak he wraps himself in to hide whatever ghost haunt his soul. I wear matching one.-

Roan. Good lord that man. He was a weapon…in many ways. I honestly wish I could have gotten more from his past/back story. He is haunted by his demons and deeply scarred. I would have loved to know more of how him and his brothers grew up from their trauma together.

“ What’s with the rosary? You don’t strike me as the praying type.”
“I’m not.”
“Okay, so why?”
“Because when my hands are wrapped around your throat, I’m the one you’ll be praying to.”

Okay but the SPICE? THE TENSION?? Sheesh it definitely got me at times and Roan definitely had a way with words. And he knew how to use his hands. And Reggie? A total minx.

“You’re mine, Reggie, and I’m never losing you again.”
“You didn’t lose me,” she says softly into my shirt.
“I thought I did, and that was enough.”

All in all I absolutely enjoyed this Reggie and Roan’s story. By the end I was absolutely smiling like a fool, I definitely would have loved to see certain parts maybe fleshed out a bit more but I think the story is still great without it! I’m such a sucker for cute endings/epilogues and the epilogue didn’t disappoint!! It was so tender and sweet, I loved it.

Omg my jaw was on the floor reading this book. Summer always kills it between the spice, the banter, & the tension… ugh I couldn’t get enough!

Reggie & Roan are definitely my fave in the series so far. There’s just something about those Fox men 🥵 Roan’s character development throughout this book was so so good. Reggie was full of sass & truly lived up to Roan’s nickname for her.. Little Menace.

While I loved this book & the entire series so far, I think I’m most excited for Lochlan’s story!

I have loved all of the Fox brothers stories so far but Roan’s by far has to be my favourite😩

Firstly, this book is an emotional rollercoaster. I laughed, I shed a few tears and I swooned very very hard for both our MMC - Roan and our FMC - Reggie.

The tension between this couple was absolutely INSANE and by tension I mean yes they both can’t stand each other but at the same time they want to rip each others clothes off- like dang it just kept building and building and building until they both gave in and what that happened Damn it was hot 🥵 Summer knows what she is doing when she is writing those spicy moments I can tell you that.

Also can I say CHAPTER 22 - if you know you know🔫 but I loved every filthy moment👀

One thing I love about this series in particular is Summer does not write no weak-ass FMC, she writes strong, powerful FMCs that are not afraid to challenge the MMCs and we see this again here with Reggie.

Roan, Roan, Roan he is just as devious and devilishly charming as his brothers🫶🏼 My poor heart broke quite a few times due to the trauma he relives due to losing his mother at quite a young age- but I am glad that he gets the help he needs in the end🥺

Overall I absolutely adored this book and that epilogue 😩 I cannot wait to read about the final Fox brother.

I think Summer did a great job in doing her due diligence to make sure she portrayed Reggie and her heritage/culture in a respectful way. I loved the representation in this. I enjoyed the characters in this, but I think the execution of the story fell a bit short for me. I don’t know I felt like something, i am not sure what, was missing. I didn’t feel any sort of attachment as I have with previous books of the author’s.

The pranks Reggie plays on Roan felt very, very childish. And all because she hated having to NEED a babysitter (aka bodyguard because there was an attempt on her life, and she’s the daughter of a head of a cartel so like it was literally for your own good). Roan on the other hand just wanted to be a dick because Cash, his older brother, volun-told him to do this, but he hated having to BE the babysitter (aka bodyguard).

The murder mystery plot line felt very shallow? Idk that might not be the right word. But as soon as we realized who the victims were and what the connection was I guessed the killer, correctly.

Overall a 2.5 star read for me.

Roan and Reggie took me pleasantly by surprise with this one. The story pulled me right away and I found myself not wanting to put it down! I loved all of the different tropes thrown in, and I think they all blended really well and made for great development of their relationship.

I was not expecting the ending, like at all. I felt so heavily for Roan having to bare witness. But everything all worked out in the end. Roan and Reggie could not be more of a match made in heaven and seeing them get their HEA felt so good!

Highly recommend if you enjoy dark mafia-esque romance! This is the third, so I do recommend reading the other two first.

I loved everything about this book. Reggie & Roan did not disappoint, there was so much chemistry between them and they were just perfect together.

I also loved the plot and mystery of the whole book, it kept me gripped all the way to the end.

Summer, oh Summer! These Fox men are 🥵 Roan was so different from Finn and Cash. He was more tortured and tormented by his past. While he was very aware of it, he didn’t discuss it much. We see him struggle through his nightmares and the little things in the beginning, but oh the end.. ripped my heart to shreds. I loved his character development and allowing Reggie in. Reggie, quiet the bold and fearless woman than a Fox man needs, was determined to make Roan’s life a living hell while he was trying to protect her. She threw everything back to him in her sassy responses. When the heat turned up, holy smokes! The desk scene literally had me fanning myself 🤯 These two exploded together, and I was there rooting them on. The end literally shattered me on so many accounts.

I do wish we saw more form Reggie when it comes to her family. I also wish she had more development. For Roan, I was really hoping that we’d see him discuss his demons with his brothers, at least one of them.

There are so less books which get readers hooked from the very first chapter, and this one is among them. I was so hooked from the very first line , and when I get to know that Reggie is a forensic pathologist, I was like , come on everyone get ready to be sick of me talking about this book everynow and then.
It has every thing , dark romance, enemies to lovers, bodyguard ,one bed trope and damn mann this book was such a rollercoaster of emotions at times.🛐
All the intense sexual tension , and the heat and angst between them is so so so... I can't seem to even find words ,let's just assume "GODDAMN"

The damage that chapter 21, 22 & the near ending of book caused me, I'm still not over it.😭

i knew this was going to be a 5 star from very early one, i absolutely loved every single second of this book, i read it in less then a day. the characters and relationships in this series have become some of my favourites ever.

the plot of this book drew me in from the very beginning and had me hooked all the way through, it’s definitely the darkest of the three books and it didn’t fail to completely break my heart and put it back together by the end❤️

roan and reggie have easily become one of my new fav book couples i’ve read and i’m never gonna get over them. they are definitely my fav couple in the series. their entire dynamic was everything. we got enemies to lovers, bodyguard romance and forced proximity (literally my top three tropes). the way are definitely soulmates in every aspect of the word. their tension and banter was delectable and i could not get enough. the spice in this book was also chefs kiss.

reggie was probably my fav fmc in the series so far i loved her, and the way she carried herself. she was a badass and fearless fmc!! i might’ve had a girl crush on her🤭

roan has easily been added to top book boyfriends list, him along with all of his brothers are basically perfect but if i had to chose i would have to pick roan as my fav🥹. his character development was PERFECT. He’s described as this cold hearted, ruthless, and brooding character but once he opened up he had the biggest heart EVER, was such a sweetheart and he was insanely sexy😮‍💨.
you could truly see how much he loved and cared for reggie from the beginning. he’d do any and everything to keep her safe… how could i not fall in love with him, he deserves the ENTIRE world😫

long story short you guys NEED to read this series!!
and i need Lochlans book asap i know i’m going to eat it up!!!

All the things I love to read. I really like this book. For me the men in this world are chef kisses.
Summer writes such naughty men. Honestly they are refreshing to read I don’t know how she does it.

Roan was hot. Smoking hot. I also loved his personality. He a bit manic which for me is real, for a man like him it feels real. With everything he goes through in life and his job. He doesn’t know how to keep things in and he show both his sides, the side that loves in his own way and the side that is very manic and where he struggles.
Loved him. Maybe the same amount as I love Cash lol.

Overall a good read. Super easy to follow.
I liked the enemies to lovers part on Roan side but not on Reggie side, I found some of it too be too harsh.. the name calling… I know that sounds weird but I didn’t like that and I found some of the things she did to him childish. Stuff that happens reminded me HS bullying. There characters are grown adults.
Shot him in the foot or something lol. This is mafia.

This book was definitely a mix of the first two books in my opinion. Dead bodies showing up, stalker vibe at the beginning. Investigating a murders… this isn’t a bad thing but the plot did keep be thinking about Cash’s book and Finns book. I loved the cartel part in this one I hope Summer writes more that. Because you can tell with her stories she does her research. Reggie job the details were all there and I loved that. Cartel mafia is normally darker and heavy I think summer would be great writing it.

I do recommend everyone reading this book but make sure you start at book 1 MAKE ME 🦊

First of all, YES. Just yes. I absolutely loved this book. Reggie and Roan are such a badass couple.

Forensic pathologist x Mafia man (and a Fox brother at that) assigned to her as a “bodyguard”?! YES PLEASE. This story was such a great read. There was intensity, tragic backstories, unresolved trauma, themes of dealing with loss, and a very interesting murder mystery strung throughout the whole book. I found myself consistently changing what I thought was going to happen, keeping me on my toes the whole time- I see you Summer.

The HEAT. Oh my lord. Tell me why it included all of my favorite things- and I mean FAVORITE. Reggie and I have similar preferences, it seems, and I am NOT complaining.

I started to really fall in love with the story in Chapter 8- that whole chapter had so much tension and banter and I was honestly captivated. CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE STRAWBERRY FIELD SCENE? UM, who’s coming with me to recreate that?

The relationship development between Reggie and Roan mirroring the development of the crimes in tandem, as more information was uncovered, was honestly so touching to read. Their story both broke my heart, made me want to cry, and had me hopeful for the future at the same time. I genuinely adore them.

Sidenote: Will be stealing Reggie’s pepper trick the next time someone pisses me off ;)
