THE FINAL BOOK IN THE SAINTS OF SERENITY FALLS SERIES!
In the blink of an eye, my life has become nothing but chaos. Murder. Kidnap. Mobsters. Arrests. Betrayal. As the carnage starts to pile up around us and the walls start closing in, there are only so many moves to make, only a very few cards to play. Nothing is as it seems, we don’t know who to trust and the bodies just keep piling up. But when those bodies become the ones I love the most, there’s nothing I can do but play this twisted game by its own rules. Not everyone wins the game, but we might just die trying. Read the Complete Series! The Saints of Serenity Falls series must be read in the following order: Book 1: A Burn so Deep Book 2: A Revenge so Sweet Book 3: A Taste of Forever
Lily is a writer, dreamer and crime documentary addict.
She loves to write dark, reverse harem romance and characters who will shatter your heart. Characters who enjoy stomping on the pieces and then laugh before putting you back together again. And she definitely doesn't enjoy readers tears. Nope. Not even a little.

This book felt extremely rushed. There are plot holes you could drive a bus through, lots of threads left unexplained and the ending just left me scratching my head... Sadly this was a disappointing end to this series.
Was so excited for it since I enjoyed the first 2 but it was a little disappointing. First off it was only mainly Blairs pov I get that it’s her story but I feel like It was necessary to know the others thoughts and side of things for a lot of the twists. I also feel like they didn’t really go into depth for things they should have and spent too long on pointless facts. the ending was way to abrupt the entire book basically felt very rushed and honestly a bit boring maybe my expectations were just way too high
This book is the final instalment of The Saints of Serenity Falls series.
It was good catching up with Briar and her guys.
So does this book tie up all loose ends, and provide you with all the what's and whys, to your hearts content? No. And some parts toward the end feel a bit rushed as well.
The guys were 100% protective and caring of Briar, they were great together.
I have to admit, this author knows how to write some of the steamiest scenes...Wow! There is some MM Action in this book...though not a lot, imo. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
So maybe book 3 wasn't as great as Book 1 & 2, but overall I thought this series was good.
While I liked the first 2 books, this just wasn’t it for me. There were a few MM scenes which made absolutely zero sense and I felt were thrown in for shock value (I’m all for MM but these just didn’t fit) and there’s a golden shower scene which isn’t my thing so if it is or isn’t, be warned that it’s in there. Also this book is heavily smut based with light plot (which is fine but, again, didn’t fit) The whole revelation about Connor and that plot made zero sense and was handled poorly. The author also does this weird thing (in all the books actually) where she leads into an event or a scene or something and then doesn’t actually write the scene and jumps to afterward… And then the reveal of who was behind the murders and notes and shit was an epic letdown and extremely anticlimactic. And when that happens, it fades out and cuts to the epilogue. No conclusions, no answers really, just fade to black and fast forward like 2 years. Then the epilogue is basically one giant sex scene with still no wrap up and questions left unanswered. No conclusion to the proposal or mention of it or a wedding either. Like, that was a HUGE plot point, and then nothing. Overall, major let down for me. Would I recommend this series? Probably not, solely because of this book
I am so disappointed by this book! That ending was crap, I'm sorry. Why Emerson? How could she do all that when she barely graduated high school? It made no sense and her reasoning was ridiculous. Why not chose Connor, or Chase, or the governor, or even Briar's mom? Emerson was barely in the story. There's no closure about Chase, the governor or Briar's mom. What's going to happen? Will both Chase and the governor rule Briar and the guys until they die? Do we really believe the governor will let his son and his wife be in a multiple partners relationship? Will Chase continue to use Katy as a pawn to keep Travis on line? Will Cole be able to continue football as a pro? What happened with the deal between Travis and Marco? So many loose ends. The epilogue is a joke, it's a long sex scene with no snippet of the future. The author writes hot sex scenes, I'll give her that, but plot wise, this series is a complete mess. I really don't understand because the story in the beginning seemed ok. The whole kids against their suffocating parents. Trying to break free and live the life they chose. And I really thought Travis and Marco will bring Chase down together, because what was the point to make them meet? In her previous series, the heroine also got a stalker so I wasn't surprised that in this one, the heroine also got one. But I don't know, spice things up. Also, what happened to the band? Why even make the guys be a band when they played twice in the whole story?
I guess Penelope is going to have her series with possibly Carter, Connor and maybe Denton?! Will I read it? I'm not sure. I really liked Denton. I guess Marco and his wife River has a book somewhere.
I've been waiting to be back with Briar and the boys! This one had a lot of loose ends to tie up, but also threw lots of twists at us. Like jaw dropping twists. This one also doesn't lack on 🌶, it is filled to the brim with it.
Briar and them went out with a bang and I was shocked as to who it was, but now it makes sense. It all makes sense. I wasn't quite ready to let them go, but I was satisfied with their end. As I stated previously, there are a few big twists, I wish that we did get to see more of one of them, but maybe in a future book.
The Saints of Serenity Falls series is a dark, whychoose, college romance with a side of stalker and 🩸🩸🩸 if you love all these things, do not sleep on this trilogy!
Thoroughly disappointed in this book. I enjoyed the first two in the series. They each had a handful of spicy scenes but a really good plot that kept me turning the pages. This book was 99.9% porn. There was absolutely zero plot and although I guess the loose ends were technically tied up, it felt very rushed and half-assed. The story had so much potential and the third book was a complete flop. I love me a good spicy book but that’s literally the only thing this book had to give. And honestly, even the spicy parts were completely different than what was provided in the first two books. Did not enjoy but forced myself to finish in a timely manner strictly for my reading goal and because I enjoyed the first two books so I was hoping that this one would at least get good at the end. But no. It didn’t. Don’t waste your time.
I don’t know about y’all but I’ve been waiting for the finale to Briar’s story and @lilywildhart seriously delivered!!
A Taste of Forever comes out this Friday and if you haven’t started this series yet, now is the time!! College RH with surprises at every turn - family drama, past trauma, a mystery stalker, and enough steamy scenes to make your panties go 💥💥💥
And for those of you have already read the start of this series, I have no doubt you’re going to LOVE this book! Briar is a fantastic FMC and her guys - Sawyer, Asher, Cole, and Travis - brought their A Game both in and out of bedroom. Seriously, @lilywildhart smashed the steam in this one, even throwing in a surprise or two 😉
Speaking of surprises, we came into this book with a TON of the questions and not only did we get answers, we also got a few 💣 that I did NOT see coming!
Congratulations @lilywildhart on another fantastic series and don’t forget to grab this on KU!
A Taste of Forever by Lily Wildhart is a dark college why choose romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Cecily Foster and Alexander Neal. This is the third and final book in The Saints of Serenity Falls series.
I loved the first two books in the series, but this book fell flat for me. I really wanted to love it, but I just felt like it was rushed and so many questions unanswered.
I will say the spice picked up in this book and the chemistry between Briar, Sawyer, Asher, Cole, and Travis was off the charts. I did enjoy getting all of their points of views throughout the book.
Cecily and Alexander did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you like dark romances, college romances, stepbrother romances, or why choose romances.
I absolutely loved these characters from the beginning of the series until the end. Briar was so strong and really showed how in reality people deal with stress. The puppies are still a favorite and I loved how Shadow was still her buddy and helped to comfort her. It felt fitting that he followed and grew with her. See the guys come into themselves and into the relationship as the world changed around them was the perfect pick me up with the crazy that was going on in the background. Overall good read.
The twist and turns this book takes! Oh my!! The bombshell Lily dropped didn’t see that one coming. You all need to read this book! Don’t wait. Felt the book could have been a little longer. Other than that great read!
I did like this but have to say that ending felt a bit rushed. I wish we would have got a bit more before epilogue. Also MM stuff came out of nowhere and they never talked about what it meant for them. But there was a lot what I did like about this book. I really liked Briar and the guys together. How guys were there for her when she needed them. Also I liked her friendship with Penn. I think Sawyer was my fave from her guys.
An ARC was provided in exhange for an honest review.
Well, this was a good ending to this trilogy, but it could have been a lot better. The conclusion just kind of seemed to come out of nowhere and was a little anticlimactic. It almost seemed rushed, and the book just cut off. What happened between the last chapter and the epilogue? It's like that whole scenario was just jumped right over. I feel like I am missing so much. After all the hype and being hooked on these books, it just fell flat.
Briar, is a strong resilient FMC that was funny and stayed pretty true to herself. She experiences a polarising moment in her life when coming back from a stay with her dad, her mum has somehow married up and she moves from poverty stricken to an Uber rich powerful but controlling family. I liked her harem of men, one of which includes her step brother though they could be controlling a holes. Loved the puppies and bestie Penn. Was well thought out storyline with a lot of depth - kept me captivated. Lots of sub-plots. She sure had a lot going against her. Most of the plot-lines were pretty unpredictable which was great and the stalker’s identity and motive kept you guessing.
Lots of good funny or interesting sub characters like Denton, Carter, Denton, Penn, Connor and hope to see their spin offs…
I would have liked to give this more stars as I felt like this had so much potential but it got let down by a few things; 1. quite a few plot points didn’t seem to go anywhere eg her drawing/ art, psychology course, Jamie knowing Conner etc 2. Don’t mind a sex scene but there was way more sex scenes than plot - MM action came from totally out of left field and wasn’t tied in at all before or after 3. the ending was rushed and glossed over so many things and left so many things hanging, also the epilogue was another sex scene…
It was such a plot and character rich book that I was enjoying it and wanted to have things wrapped up and know what happened with the power hungry parents, her wedding, her and the guys, her uni course and especially the dinner with Octavia and her guys form Knights of Echoes Cove.
Worth a read but would be outstanding with some of the above fixed up.
This book is 90% fucking, 10% internal ramblings, 0% plot. It’s almost like the author forgot they were trying to write a suspenseful book with a serial killer until the 80% mark then quickly tried to wrap it up in a couple of pages that made no sense. There were so many plot holes and completely unexplained storylines. If you like golden showers and female main characters that get completely sexually degraded then this book is for you. If you like strong FMC and fully developed storylines I strongly recommend you read something else.

So I preface this review with how much I love this author’s work and how all these series. I loved this book until the end and I had to check the audiobook wasn’t missing a chapter or two because it skipped important things, a lot of plot lines were left unanswered. It felt so off, it didnt feel like this author finished the book to be honest. If I was just reading this and not listening it would have gotten 3 stars because of how it felt incomplete and unsatisfied. The narration was fabulous so it helped boost it to a 4 stars. If I were the author I would think about maybe coming back to this or giving us bonus scenes to help fill in those gaps. Unless info was kept out because of another spinoff would answer them? I don’t know, I am definitely confused and conflicted.
Now up until the ending, this book was fabulous. I couldnt stop listening, I needed to know how things were going to happen. I totally didnt see the baddie coming, I had a different person tagged and I was totally wrong haha. I loved how that character got his own twist and it ended up being good. I was confused how they couldn’t tell the resemblance after all that time but I will leave that thought alone so I don’t spoil anything. The steam definitely ramped up in this one (I did feel like at times the story was overpowered by the smut but it wasn’t bad sexy scenes. I just think some of things we wanted answers from could have been snuck in there because all the group scenes). The group scenes, so yummy. I wasn’t as much of a fan of the domineering aspect, some of it felt a little forced, but overall the steam was great and I loved seeing the love grow between the characters.
I am intrigued by Pen a lot more in this one, one of the issues I had is we didnt get resolution on things for her and her family. Again maybe the author is thinking of giving her her own series so maybe it will be answered in the future but who knows. I hated Chase and her mom, I wanted them to get their just rewards but not sure if they do. We do get one answer about he legitimacy of the pregnancy but it was a brief sentence. Also wanted to see if they actually got married, where they got hurt/how they recovered, did Cole get to play football professionally or did his injuries prevent him? Again so many questions left unanswered.
I would still say I recommend this series but the reader needs to go into knowing now all your questions will be resolved and no line of sight if they ever will be. I loved these characters, fell for their made family and their personalities, their puppies, etc. I was shocked and happy with who the baddie was because that ending was heart wrenching and scary. I just am sad it ended like this, the author has never left me feeling like this so its hard to put into words to be honest.
So first off I want to say Lily is a great writer. This series has balance of spice, drama and mystery which basically means you can't put the book down or wait to find out the next crazy revelation. I'm talking like soap opera or tella nuvella kind drama and chaos bombs as Briar would say. The combination of the underlying family drama, mystery murders plus navigating a poly relationship school and of course🔥 🌶🔥🌶🔥🌶🔥 created an addicting and intriguing story. The mfc Briar is super strong mentally and emotionally. She wasn't annoying at all and made smart decisions and communicated really well considering all the stress and drama going on. I mention this only because if a mfc is annoying and I'm told as a reader that the book has a string sassy mfc and it turns out not to be the case I struggle to connect to the characters and story or to finish the book with out getting irritable. TMI? maybe but just saying Lily wrote a great characters and I wish there were more out there like these.
Ok moving on. The guys are all so loveable and awesome. You will see just read the book. The series is multi pov but mostly Briars' perspective which makes sense because she is the one going through the most.
I really liked how she introduced other side characters in this book who are main characters in her other series or books she is going to write. I look forward to reading them as well. The ending of the book was slightly different then I was expecting, not necessarily a bad thing. But the family drama wasnt really cleared up. The epilogue was mostly all smexy times. Which is ok but what ended up happening with the boys overbearing parents? Not to mention the soft cliffy between the last chapter and the epilogue, I guess as a reader we have the opportunity to fill in the blanks as we see fit. Like I said different type of wrap up but still good.
So I hope other readers enjoy this series as much as I did. Worth the read and be ready for the drama and craziness its soooo good!
Okay, it wasn't entirely awful, but as a conclusion it kind of sucked! First let me say there is m/m in this book , I don't usually mind m/m, but that's when it makes sense, the relationship is built and developed or developing during the course of the series...in A taste of forever everyone is in love with Briar, the attention is all on her ( sexually) and it makes sense since her relationships with these guys were established very early on. But...then, out of nowhere in book three, the LAST book of the series they're all having sex and bam, Sawyer is giving Travis a blowjob!? I mean, huh??!! Maybe it would've been fine and wouldn't have bothered me as much as it did if I had seen it coming, but everything in this series pointed to all the guys being straight, definitely not involved with one another, it was just totally bizarre!! And the guys didn't even blink, which leads me to believe that they e done it before...does that mean they all have sex with one another? Or is it just Sawyer and Travis who have a sexual relationship? Either way it came out of nowhere, and just "felt" wrong and weird!!
Now aside from the strange unnecessary sex between Travis and Sawyer we have a book which is supposed to be the conclusion to the series but totally isn't one. It just...ends! Its so odd and very disatisfying!! Heck, one minute we have a huge revelation thrown at us. The next we re in a very not so end of the book. Epilogue. And in the epilogue we get...nothing!! Really. Nothing!! We don't have Briar and Cole married. We don't get to see Briars awful mother get her due (that woman did not deserve a happy ending!!!) We don't get to see Travis stand up to his horrible father or his father getting this just deserts as well. And, well, EVERYTHING is left just...hanging! Like I said a conclusion without a conclusion. So...yes, if you read the other two in this series you'll probably read this one too (or have to) just be forewarned that this reader found it odd, disatisfying, and very "open ended."
Briar's life is out of control. A forced marriage. She can either agree or be sold off to a rich stranger. However, this is nothing compared to the murders that keep happening around her. They clearly have something to do with her. Is someone trying to frame her or get her attention? And is she next?
I have enjoyed this series but this book lost its way. It's one big plot hole in the middle of an unending sex scene. The author forgot to put the story before the sex. Too much sex is not something I say often but I am saying it now. When it starts to get boring, it's too much. Plus, it was unhealthy sex. Briar had a traumatic history. Her self-worth was damaged, she felt shame and pain over past events. She should not be with guys who shame and name-call during sex. Anyway, this final book lost all the momentum of the earlier books. The murders, the mysteries, and the reveals were all rushed and superficially mentioned. Really disappointing. Small moments like horseback riding with Katy were ignored. Huge moments like death threats were never addressed. What was Marco's deal with Travis? What was his uncle's business? What happened with the engagement? There were never any conversations or resolutions with the parents, the murderer barely got a second mention, and the new siblings might as well have not existed. Honestly, we don't even know if the puppies survived the story or if they ran away when the house was left open during the final attack. I don't allow myself to review under 3 stars because of the work I know goes into a book but this was nearly an exception because I know this author can do better. I suggest a move to erotica if she's no longer interested in storytelling.
I was so ready and happy to get started on this book. Especially after really liking books one and two. I had high hopes for book three. But unfortunately, I felt like this one fell short a bit.
What worked for me in this book was that the who behind the murders and the reasoning I didn’t anticipate. And I also liked that everything was solidly resolved on the relationship front with the harem. And the narration was pretty good.
But what I didn’t like so much was that the book seemed to be a bit all over the place. There were a lot of twists in the story that didn’t really seem to make sense or only seemed to be thrown in for shock value or just never got resolved. I don’t know why the twist with Thomas and Connor was necessary. What did Marco want from Travis? Plus, the scene at the end before the epilogue just felt rushed and sloppy. The reveal of the bad guy plot was one thing but to have so much go wrong and then cut to the epilogue with no real explanation of what happened was so disappointing. Also, in the epilogue I wanted more detail of their actual future. I want to know if things go beyond them living together. Does Cole go pro with his football playing or follow in his father’s footsteps? What was the deal with his mom? How do Travis and Briar handle sharing a sibling? Do Briar and Cole just stay engaged or do they actually get married? I had a lot of questions and it all just kind of left me a little unsatisfied not to get many answers. TheFlockVIPReviewTeam
I struggled with this review. While I rated it 4/5 stars I think it's more like 3.5/5 stars.
I loved this series... however, this last book felt a bit incomplete. There were some things left unanswered. I just felt like I wanted more to the story. Like Chase Kensington simply backed off being a major d-canoe all of a sudden because Briar and Cole decided to get engaged? It seemed like all the hassle and push from their families stopped completely.
Also, what's up with Chase and Briar's mother? I think I missed something. There really wasn't much back story about how they met and suddenly married while Briar was away for the summer. Briar left to spend time with the man she believed to be her father and returns home to her mother married and living the life of luxury... but history suggests her mother had substance issues and an inability to care for herself.
AND LET'S NOT FORGET THE CLUSTER**** THAT IS THE FAMILY TREE?!? Connor and Briar are twins that were separated at birth because their mom didn't know how to take care of a boy... plus they are the product of SA by Noah Crawford (the creepy college professor/killer)... THEN the man/father of Briar's younger sister who also SA'd her for years when she was younger is her biological uncle (brother to Noah Crawford). WTF?!?
I mean don't get me wrong the series was good but this last book will throw you for a loop.
All of this in addition to the serial killer who seems to be stalking and following Briar around.

So this is a book that the more you learn about the villain of the story the more you wish that he will become unalived in a way that is rather vicious. I mean, very viciously feeling this way. I mean, I put this part of my review down during reading, and I do have faith in this author. But I really have strong opinions on this. Seriously, I was close to tossing my kindle against a wall at 30% because I am so annoyed at this man.
Ok, now maybe I can talk normally about the rest of this book. The spice in this book is absolutely on point. If you are not one for many group activities that includes some rather epic ⚔️ and a whole lotta 🍆🐱🍆🍑🍆😮🍆, then maybe steer clear of this book. For the rest of us, we will enjoy.
This book also has some rather epic turns that go down. I mean, I have said this about this author before, but she is a rather brilliant evil genius. So go in with eyes open and prepare for your jaw to drop a few times, plus a likelyhood of kindle throwing.
I felt this ending was very anti-climatic. It had a lot of lead up, and then it was just… over in like a page, with a lot of unanswered questions.
Do they get married? What happens with Travis having to work for the mafia guy? What happened to the dogs at the end and in the epilogue? Why does Cole play college football up to basically April? Does Travis’ dad just accept their relationship now after making that big fuss? Is Katy safe? Where did the twins’ sister disappear to?
Love the surprise of the MM lovin’ but that came out of nowhere and I thought it was odd that neither of the other two guys questioned it. I mean it seemed like it was new but nobody even batted an eye or seemed surprised. I know they’re all super close, but I think one of them would have been like, “oh, well that’s new” at least 🤣. Not that any of them would have cared, but I would have assumed there would have been some sort of reaction.
I also thought that Briar was a horrible friend. She kept mentioning how she was being self-centered and not checking in with Penn and Connor… but then… she didn’t really ever change. She definitely was kind of the worst friend ever. Even after knowing something was def up with Connor she kept forgetting about him.
I have never heard of so many twins, either. Everyone is a twin in this town I guess.
I really enjoyed listening to this book on audio. It is definitely one of those where audio adds to the experience. Some books are meant for audio, some aren't. This one was fantastic! I also really enjoyed this whole series. Although I do agree with some of the other reviewers. This book felt a little different than the others. I felt like they were just trying to beef up the novel by adding a sex scene in every other chapter. The sex doesn't bother me. It only bothers me when it is being used as a filler. So I would crank up the speed and listen all of them (there were a lot) at 2.1x. The ending its self was actually really crazy. Some things I expected. Somethings I didn't. I would love to say more about the ending but by doing so I would give away major spoilers and I don't want to be killed be an upset fan! But I will say that I love how she added a little bit about Octavia Royal. I listened to the first two books in the series (I think) and they were great. I wonder if there is going to be more crossover. I think there may be more Royal books that have been written. But they haven't hit audio last time I checked. I will definitely be checking those out when they do. Lily Wildhart is wildly talented. And I will continue to follow what she writes as long as she keeps putting out these awesome books!
☕️ 🚿 🪢 🌟 BOOK REVIEW 🌟 A Taste of Forever by Lily Wildhart
ARC review releases today, 1.27.23 This is the 3rd and final book of the Saints of Serenity Falls. I very much enjoyed Briar and her men, Travis, Asher, Cole and Sawyer. The hoops they had to jump through to get to where they wants was high. Plus it was spicy, I’m talking for every plot or problem they encountered, we had some 🌶️ fun.
This book we finally get to see their relationships with eachother booom. Yes I mean eachother, definitely some MM action that I wish was visited more (as in the feelings behind the actions, plenty of action). Briars resilience is admirable, yet sometime her actions made me so frickin nervous! Like, why!!!
This book definitely had some twists in the plot that I was NOT expecting which made it all the more addictive. I will not say more except damn…..so many connections! The final reveal of the stalker…..yep I had no idea!
The only bummer I had was the issue with their parents seemed unsolved. As in, yes they have the HEA, but how? I feel like there could have been more resolve there. Regardless, overall I enjoyed this book and the entire series! There are triggers but just so damn good!
