James Hunt's passion for writing began at an early age. While his journal of yesteryear may never be the work of great fiction, he's been working hard every day since then to bring pages to life. James has well over a decade of writing under his belt, but his professional career in literature didn't take off until 2014.
James currently lives in Orlando, FL and when he's not pounding away at the keyboard you can find him at the theater or somewhere outside enjoying the beautiful Florida weather.
I liked this book. It was well written but it’s a jumble of murder mystery; a touch of romance, and a detective story. It has a wedding, a kidnapping, friendship, childhood trauma and a lesson in consequences. It’s easy to read. You can lay it down and pick it up the next day and still remember who the characters are and where the story was going. It’s easy to follow without being juvenile.
This book is a page turner. It holds our attention, while reminding us that triggers from the past do affect our life today. I enjoyed this police drama and hope that you will too.
This was an interesting read but also a read that had me wondering just how could so many lies, so much deceit and so much corruption be possible in one precinct. Had it's moments.
I am really enjoying binging this series and it is working for me. The story works, although how there is so much crime and corruption in one precinct is interesting. The voice narration as always was great and adds to the drama.
If I had a criticism and this is only because I have listened to the entire series this week, there is so much focus on Jim but where was the reference to Kerry's family trauma which occurred in one of the earlier books when she was giving a 'get over yourself' speech to Jim - she just referenced the cancer but I would have thought her son being kidnapped in the past would have been important.
Would have been a 4 star if the editing errors were not so distracting. Started out with a school bus that didn't show up at the first bus stop (Mom's waiting, must be afternoon, say 3-4pm). Then someone says she was abducted just this morning. It's really distracting when he is called she and vice versa. And finally when you said Jim say Amy in her dress (wedding day). Can't say anymore, because of spoilers, but you should have a friend read the book and pick out all the errors before publishing even though I can't wait to read the next one because I love North & Martin.
Martin and North are the best. Its intense and full of grit. They are a pair that keeps you guessing. Suspense, intrigue, and a touch of romance, always the best.
A very good book. North and Martin are good together and are perfect partners watching out for each other. Lots of action and twists in the story which kept me turning page after page to see what would happen next.
It was a story where past met the present. Both had to be sorted out and corrected. There is a big question in the story that gets answered at the end. A good read.
