This is one of the many books we checked out in our search for information about solitary bees and sources for a storytime to go along with our Mason Bee house project.
This is less of a read-aloud and more of a late-elementary graphic novel on bees in Nature/STEM-- Mason B. Chandler is trying to solve the mystery of "Who spilled the honey?" and visits a variety of bee communities in "STEMville", learning about Mason bees, Pollination, Bumblebees, Honeybees/social bee hive life, the advantage of Hexagon building in beehives, how honey is harvested, and about wasps and hoverflies as well. A fun read for a nature-lover, especially go go along with some sort of bee project-- and one that doesn't focus excusively on the imported Eurasian honeybee!

An excellent story geared toward early and middle readers, provides a ton of information about bees. I recommend it, and will be ordering the next in the series, The Fast Lane, all about the inner workings of automobiles.
