Headstrong recruiter Victoria is on the hunt for quarterback gold. After her trail to Midas himself runs cold, she crashes into the next best thing: his back-up. Devilishly handsome, the air around Warren crackles with potential, both on the field and off. Desperate for a quarterback, she makes him an offer no footballer can refuse.
After Midas’s betrayal, Warren knows better than to trust Victoria. She’s ruthless, stubborn, and cutthroat. Nothing will get in her way. She says it to him, repeats it like a mantra. Win by any means. Oddly enough, it’s in her brutal honesty that Warren finds solace.
Before long, Warren sets out to seduce the woman who’s revived his fiery passion, but as he steps from darkness, shadows follow. As they face down scrupulous billionaires, smug exes, and the king of gold, Warren is willing to take any risk to protect Victoria, including saving her from herself. Quarterback Scramble is a full-length steamy sports romance with a Happily Ever After. It can be read as a standalone.
M L Chambers writes contemporary romance and fantasy romance with passionate heroes, stubborn heroines, and a heavy dose of steam, pining, and danger mixed in.
A try-anything-once aficionado, she loves to include both new and obscure experiences in her stories.
When she’s not consuming books, M is skiing (alpine and water) or cuddling up with her collie and cat.
2.5⭐️ (un 5 pelado) needs some extra editing imo, as i found some paragraphs hard to follow, but wasn’t bad. i’ll be reading the sequel only because i want to see cole happy.
The MMC was meh. I **loved** how obsessed he was with her, but his constant insecurity was aggravating. I was interested in this aspect of his personality initially because you barely have books where the MMC is unsure of himself. However, it dragged on for nearly the whole book and made him look weak. He constant was doubting the FMC and relied too heavily on his whole “everyone want to use me/I can’t trust anyone” sad boy shtick.
Insulted the hell out of her towards the end and never groveled or even apologized if my memory is correct.
I love a confident and headstrong main character, but reading paragraphs upping paragraphs of her talking about how sexy she is and how she uses her appearance as a tool to get what she wants doesn’t make her seem as cool as she thinks she is. Honestly at this point it’s vain and unnecessary. What kind of woman complains about men objectifying and underestimating her just to start talking about how hot she is the next sentence?
This book gave me whiplash — did she even like him? Literally had no indication of her romantically liking him until her love confession at the end (after ignoring him saying it multiple times). Both characters felt super inconsistent: she’s an incredibly confident, ruthless but self-assured woman who owns her sexuality and her enjoyment of sex and history of sexual partners, yet in the bedroom was incredibly insecure to the point of it feeling odd. He was grumpy, but protective of her, until out of the blue he turns nasty when he’s pissed off (granted he thought she was screwing him over), but they also never discussed that
I’m much more invested in the side characters, mainly and especially Cole and Miles, so I’ll be reading the spin-offs.
Headstrong and stubborn, an independent woman that's on a war path to proving the men above her, that she's more than capable of getting the work done. Betrayed, abandoned & Used, this good looking man was ready for a change of scenerey and new life direction. What stands in their way? A job position, a dream, even so, can they overcome the lustful haze that's crackling between them?
Found this book to be interesting, entertaining & enjoyable. The tension, frustration and irritation could be felt from the begining. I felt the plot was good and the story flowed nicely.

Cute, quick-paced, a bit rushed at the end, but I didn’t mind. I like sports romances, they really are comfort reads where you can relax. This romance is exactly that and even though it didn’t stood out to me, I like the plot of the book, because It’s something new and refreshing since I didn’t read anything similar so far and the MC’s personality is amazing. Also I want someone to be as obssesed with me as is Warren with Victoria. That was my main thought throughout the whole book. I love their teasing and love-hate relantionship.

I enjoyed this book for the most part! I liked the characters and it was a pretty good romcom tbh. I wasn’t a big fan of how things weren’t explained in detail and the way the female MC would shut off the male MC like HE did something wrong. I think after 60-70% things became repetitive and growth wasn’t demonstrated. It just felt like the characters struggled and complained and magically everything was resolved. It would have been cool to take us on that journey! Victoria and Warren weren’t the worst but weren’t my favorite.
3.5 ⭐️ I really enjoyed the way it was written and the heroine. I loved how precocious and headstrong she was. The only reason why I didn’t score it higher was because although I liked the MMC his character felt inconsistent. I didn’t like his constant insecurity towards the end because It made him slightly unlikeable at times. Especially at the end where he was very insulting and never had to grovel. But I did like how obsessed they were with each other
Quarterback Scramble by M L Chambers is a good, and enjoyable steamy football romance read. The story has a good story line with twists and changing. The characters are good, likeable, and they have good chemistry. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
it felt short and the plot felt short and lacking. i enjoyed the interactions but there were a lot of unnecessary parts where a story flow couldve added. like how the forst few chapters were aggravating because of the FMC inner in denial, semi narcissism kind of self talk was involved. the progress of the story is slow and thinking about it it lacked the oomph and the aahhhss hahaah
I love the over all concepts, but there were times when I couldn't understand what the characters were saying. The last 4 chapters had me walking around in a proverbial mirror maze, screaming " which way is out!!!". Other than that, it was a quick one day read that was really cute.
Well written plot line and the characters were intresting to read. The romance the love drama steamy times between the characters were well written too. I definitely recommend this book.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Loved the strong, independent woman trying to make a name for herself. Victoria has fire and it never seems to simmer down. The characters are are likable (Warren is a heartthrob) and bring a lot to the story as a whole.
While the book is good, the MMC says some rude and hateful things about the MFC to her face and in-front of her boss and co-workers. It is never discussed and he never apologized or seemed to feel bad about saying it. Even though he is in the wrong, she’s the one who grovels.
The characters are so full of life and likeable. The plot keeps you busy with trying to keep up with the changes and twists of the book. A must read enjoyable story.
