Demon: Monsterverse

Rate this book
Exiled from my home after killing in self-defense, I was sentenced to die at the hands of monsters.

I thought being hauled through the portal by scaled beasts was the end of me, but then a glowing demon ate them. Surrounded by barren wasteland, the only glimpse of survival was with the creature that had inadvertently saved me—so I followed him.

Apparently, I was not his kind of meal. Or maybe he was saving me for dessert, but what choice did I have?

The nine-foot demon with bulging gray muscles and blue glowing runes clearly didn’t understand humans or personal space. Especially when his tail constantly wrapped around my ankle. He should have frightened me, but his possessive nature only served to draw me toward him, and I didn’t want to fight my attraction.

If you enjoy 40k word sexy reads, special-bits, tentacles, confused demons obsessed with their woman’s . . . essence, you’ll love DEMON. No cliffhanger, and a happily ever after guaranteed!

The world has changed…

A rift has opened up between the human world and the monster world. Bridget is sacrificed to the monsters by her ex-boyfriend and finds herself rescued by something terrifying. I use rescued loosely 😂😂.

Tene is a monster and lives by his own code. He’s primal and blood thirsty but Bridget intrigues him and he finds he doesn’t want to eat her. At least not fatally. *wink wink*

This was a pretty well written story that was mostly smut but somehow even though the story was 90% smut, the plot didn’t feel less for it. I loved Bridget. She was just a cool chick making the best of her circumstances and dickmatized a lot. But I don’t blame her. Tene was domineering but softer in his demands that melted my heart.

Tene was so grumpy and annoyed by all the feelings she pulled from him but his protective streak was so endearing.

“You are worth more than my life.” My nose flared. “I cannot bear separation from you. I want you in my space—always.”

Plenty of smut, a whole lot of violence and an enjoyable surface level plot. I enjoyed it!

The first third of this book seemed rushed and awkward, but the rest of it was good. I liked Tenebrus’ primal nature and tendency to eat first and ask questions…. never. Most of this book was smut, which I’m not gonna complain about.

Spice: 5/5

Triggers: violence, gore, consumption of sentient species, murder, dubcon/noncon, exhibitionism, kidnapping, horror themes, enslavement

Right away I connected with Bridget, I love a strong FMC and it was clear she wasnt going to be a typical damsel in destress. The MMC Tene is the very embodiment of touch her and die with a side of the perfect cinnamon roll for his new human.

The story is a great mix of spice and character development as the two learn more about each other and themselves.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book as an ARC and I can’t wait for more within this universe.

I received an ARC and am happily leaving this review

Y’all this book had no reason to be as cute as it was! I’m always a sucker for the ‘demon confused about their human’ trope but this was amazing.

The spicy scenes were amazingly written, and had a cute plot.

Highly recommend for any cute monster fuckers out there!

Genre: Paranormal Romance
Type: Standalone Novella

After being left for dead, Bridget thought it was the end for her. But being taken by the demon Tenebrous might prove even more harrowing than death itself.

This book started off quite mild, but quickly gained momentum. There was enough storyline, though I have to say there were a few times the chapters ended awkwardly.

My tentacles twitched, the pressure and tension mounting in my lower extremities, as if they wanted something.

I enjoyed both main characters, and the story had moments of sweetness without being cloying. When I read a monster romance, I want to see all the monstrous appendages and crevices come into play in the steamy scenes. This book delivered exactly what I wanted.

Demon is a story of survival and adaptation. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a short, sexy, monster romance.

This book was like an over filled shopping cart of kinks, tropes and cliches. The fmc was TSTL many times over and I just couldn’t find a way to connect to her at all. The MC (a demon) was one dimensional at best.

The setting is a dystopian world post rift w monsters on one side and humans on the other.

MF ✅

Damsel in distress multiple times over✅

Demon is super tall and strong, has a penis w tentacles, glowing lights, he has a useful tail and bulbs around the penis (?) of some sort w tasty c o m e, forked tongue, like the author just threw the entire kitchen sink at this monster✅

Red wings at the end, a n a l w tentacles and tail, massive size difference, use of horns for sex or not the story read as both ways who tf know, …heavy spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️✅

Primal monster not used to humans other than eating them. Not in the good way.✅

Pregnancy ❌

The story was hard to follow at times *just like this review*😉and I had to read pages over again to try to figure out what the author was expressing. Early sex scenes had me scratching my head. Paragraphs were written that made no sense at all.

The flow was off and just overall was not a smooth book to follow and read.

Honestly, there was just way too much going on for such a short story too. I feel like the MC having so much going on w his penis was just one example of how this book had way too many crazy details and not enough relationship building and such.

I like the author’s prior books but this story fell short for me.

3.8✨

The set up, plot, smut— even the character development where all going well. The thing that really struck me as odd was most often the dialogue. And the realm/world mixing. I get the concept, I think it works for this story but I’m still a baby monster fucker so I’m still getting used to it all. And I think that’s why I can’t give this a full 4✨ even though I did mostly enjoy myself, this monster MMC was a little TOO feral for me in the beginning. It was giving Stockholm Syndrome but not in a fun sexy way 😭 and there was so much going on, so many details all smashed into this novella that it made the relationship hard to believe. Thankfully… no pregnancy.

All in all, this was good. Fine. Very spicy. Exactly what I expect out of late night depraved novella reading.

What in the glowing goop?!🩵

First book I read by Allie Santos, and I will say I'm not disappointed. I'm trying to get back into reading, so I've been picking up a shorter books. This story was exactly what I wanted from the crazy storyline to the hot steamy scenes. If you're looking for a quick read with a Demon that's obsessed with you in every way, this is the book for you.

3.5 stars. This was a quick and easy read with the potential for more. The story was engaging and kept me invested in the characters. The world has been torn, with a rift creating a doorway between the human world and the monster/demon world. Believing it keeps them safe, humans sacrifice animals and criminals on the edges of their town. This is how our two main characters meet.

The female human, Bridget is determined to live, despite being sacrificed to the demons by her long-term boyfriend in retribution for killing his sister in self-defence. Taken by a demon she despairs of escaping. The demon who took her is attacked by another and our MMC is introduced. She follows him knowing she needs assistance to survive. Tene is a savage and has no intention of becoming domesticated. He knows nothing of humans and initially plans to eat Bridget, however she smells and tastes like a rare flower, and he can’t bring himself to kill her. What follows is language barriers, miscommunication with intentions and a wild attraction that can’t be ignored.

I enjoyed meeting the modernised demons and the other humans who have survived the demon world. I wish there had been more from the MMC POV to assist with character development and understanding his behaviours. There are a couple of areas where the story seems to be missing a paragraph, or the location was changed partly which made the story a little disjointed. At one point Bridget was walking, then suddenly, she was in a cave and getting up? I had to reread in case I had skipped a page.

I would like to see the world developed further and meet other human/demon pairings. I look forward to reading more from this author and am hopeful for further books set in the demonverse.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

First I want to say that I was an ARC reader for this book. This is my honest review. I enjoyed the book. I really liked the MMC and that he had no idea why he was acting how he was toward the FMC. He saw her as food at first. I have been on a fated mates kick for a while so this was a nice change of pace from the insta-love the MMCs usually have in the books I read. The MMC was well described and I could easily picture how he looks but unfortunately I don't think the same can be said about the FMC. I don't remember seeing a description of her, though it is possible that I missed it. I know she had on a long dress for a good portion of the book because that thing was cumbersome and always getting in her way. The plot was decent and easy to follow. The relationship between the two main characters is intense which I liked. The spice level is really good-extra spicy if you ask me 😄. There are CW in the beginning of the book but one that wasn't added is there is public sex twice, so be aware of that. The book is dual POV but heavy on the FMC POV and sparse, in my opinion, on the MMC POV which I found disappointing. I liked him more than the FMC and wanted to read more from him than her or at least an even amount from both of them. Overall, I think it would be nice if this became a series with different bonded pairs' stories, too, but it was also good as a standalone book. This was my first book from this author and I intend to check out more of her work.

3.5 stars. Bridget, the female human lead, is left by her human “partner”, tied up as a sacrifice to the monsters who exist due to a rift being torn in the space/time continuum when they were children, because he’s angry she killed his sister in self-defence, not believing his sister would attack. Bridget is snatched up by a monster, and then another, before a demon, Tenebrous, the male lead, kills the monster, considering her a mobile dessert/snack for later. Desperate, with nowhere else to turn, Bridget chases him and begs him to care for her. Initially reluctant, Tenebrous is convinced when he works out that her “essence” tastes like his favourite and very rare flower…then he’s told that humans don’t survive long in their world…

This story is dual POV, and a rather rawly written, fantasy romance, which suits its primal style. READ THE CONTENT WARNINGS. They are accurate - always a bonus. I was amused by the raw, primal nature of Tenebrous and the choice he’d made not to modernise, unlike other monsters they encountered. I appreciated that Bridget wasn’t super strong and brave, and that she really did need to rely on Tenebrous to survive. I found the interactions interesting, given Tenebrous’ preference for solitariness, and his grudging acceptance that he wanted Bridget. I enjoyed the mutuality of their ending.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

This was wacky but I liked the post apocalyptic vibes it gave.

The explanation for the demons and the state of the world is

The earthquake had been a record breaking sixteen point five. It had literally shattered dimensions- earth splitting

The Rift sliced across the San Andreas fault, opening a portal and creating ruins of many human cities

(of course in the USA, the rest of the world doesn't exist😅)

It starts with Bridget getting tied up on a post for demons, or more like, different dimension denizens that appear to look sort of like demons.

This because she killed someone in self defense but isn't believed.

She gets taken by some vaguely dragon looking things and ends up in their world but almost immediately the dragons get attacked by a demon and she get taken by him.

He's just lost in to what to do with this strange thing and kind of wants to eat her but can't make himself actually do it and the confusion between both is pretty funny , although this does lead to the dub con in the book so if you're not into that or sensitive to it , probably give this a pass.

This does lean heavily on the "I don't understand your species" but it works for it and I thought it was pretty good overall and would read something else in the same story universe.

3.75 / 5 Stars
4.5 / 5 Steam

This was a quick, easy, very steamy read.
The FMC finds herself trapped within the rift and becomes the "companion" to a feral monster.

This world is interesting. It's a mixture of erotica and romance to me. In order to survive in the rift, the FMC has to consume a male's "essence." Yes, it's exactly what you think it is. The MMC is as feral as they get. He un*lives almost anything that moves, lives in a cave, and acts without questioning. He's obscenely possessive, shoving her full of himself in the middle of a crowded room to express that she's his. But he's also really cute. He's confused and completely clueless when it comes to humans, attraction, and just social etiquette in general. I laughed, grinned, and shook my head at him a lot while reading this. Honestly, he really is adorable. He wants to destroy her period for her because he thought she was injured.

I had fun reading this and will be looking into more by the author!
If you're thinking of giving it a shot then know that he is not shaped like a human at all, there is a lot of steam, there is violence and m*rder, and lots of miscommunication (it is a human with a monster in the monster's world after all).

I think I snagged this during the Monster Stuff Your Kindle event, and wow. Just… wow. What a ride! Where do I get my own Tene? He’s a murderous, murdery demon with leathery skin, horns, claws and glowing runes, but damn, he’s also an absolute sweetheart. And let’s talk about his equipment - REAL special features down there, complete with lifesaving spunk ... yep. The use of the tail? Ingenious. 10/10, no notes.

Bridget, our FMC, is feisty, funny, and constantly trying to explain human basics like food and beds to Tene, who is utterly baffled by her. He’s fiercely protective, adorably possessive, and sweetly clueless?

The spice is off the charts. Allie writes monster smut like a pro: filthy, inventive, and surprisingly sweet. There’s a lot packed in (in the book, you pervs, although Tene does plenty of packing too), so it felt a little disjointed at times, but overall? Absolutely worth it.

This was such a fun romp with A-grade demon dick, an amazing use of tails, and a HEA that had me smiling. If Allie’s written more about the side characters, I NEED IT. Bring on more monsters, please!

We've got a sexually inexperienced but extremely deadly monster demon and a girl who just wants to survive in this monster world. Tene can be exhausting at times but it's understandable given his level of...I wanna say awareness? But I swear he's like a hyperactive kid with a ball in a china shop around the second half of the book. Bridget was a fine h, and I feel for her trying to control her demon. Sex was hot too 😉 cuz Tene just really couldn't get enough of Bridget.

I recieved this as an arc copy and am giving this as my honest review.

It started off straight away with you thinking what is happening.
I like that Bridget was a strong female and stood up for herself.
Tene, what can I say,he started off wanting Bridget as something he could eat,but that changed quite quickly
.i liked that he didn't understand what or why he was feeling the way he was..He was strong and wouldn't stop anything getting in his way of being with Bridget.
At the start,It seemed like they shouldn't fit together but by the time you have finished the book, you can see how they fit perfectly well together..
Congratulations Allie on a fabulous book and can't wait to delve more into this universe ✨️

Demon Love

I love demon books, and this book hooked me in from page on and did not let me go until the end! Bridget finds herself being sacrificed to the otherworld (the demon side) in order to save the humans. Once there, it's an automatic fight of survival for her. Tenebrous, the most feared demon just happened to walking by and seen. He intervenes and decides to take her. This here is the start of a wild ride!!! Tene is absolutely amazing, but he doesn't understand humans, and he also doesn't care that he is coming across crass or rude to her because to him its normal. Bridget is sweet and loving and is trying to get Tene to understand humans. Tene is starting to feel emotionals, which is when the fun really starts!!

This was a fun, quick read! I wish it was longer, though, because I want more of Tene and Bridget! I’d like at least 50 more pages and a second epilogue, please. Hahahahaha

Tene is so primal with his needs, and I loved how he just casually explores Bridget. I also love how he just casually f*@£$ her regardless of who is around or where they are. Very nice! How he comes to realize that he cares about Bridget is actually so cute. Bridget was reluctant to open herself up to him, understandably, but once she did, it was fantastic!

I hope we get more books from this universe. 5/5 overall and 4/5 spice!

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Barely has a plot/storyline. If you’re just looking for smut then this is the book for you, because this book is full of it. Don’t get me wrong I love a good smut book, but I have to have a great storyline.

I did love how Tene was basically a virgin before Bridget. I haven’t read many books that the men were the ones who were virgins. It’s quite refreshing. I think it should be written about more.

I will say there are similarities to this monsters cock to the cock of the Dusk Walker series. Of course the glowing is different for sure but it’s still pretty similar.

Overall I enjoyed and finished the book.

This was a cute and spicy monster romance. The spice was delicious, but there was still some plot woven in as well. The chemistry between Bridget and Tenebrous was electrifying. I really enjoyed this short read! I liked that was dual POV so I could see Tenebrous' thoughts. Ugh everything about Bridget and Tenebrous' relationship is so cute, and the tropes were perfect. I would've liked more revenge of her ex, but I guess that wasn't really the focus of the book so that's ok. I liked learning the inner workings of the world/magic in this story.

Oh man, if you like denial of attraction/desire and being unaware of sex being possible......and yet special peen telling on our demon MMC to his consternation this book is your jam. Full disclosure, there's no hesitation and gentle exploring in the traditional sense, the dude is a demon and violence is kinda on board with most every action. But if you don't mind it a little dark....this book jumps into the action and won't let up no matter how much you beg. ;) 5/5 Stars!

Super, spicy monster read!!
The story moves pretty quickly and it kept my attention throughout.
Bridget & Tenebrous
There was a bit of action, drama, humor and lots of spice. It's not your ordinary spice either. It was delicious monster spice!!
I love seeing Bridget and Tenebrous come together.
I loved how possessive Tene became of Bridget. They taught each other things as well. Despite all the unaliving of other monsters, I still consider this a sweet monster read!
I loved it!

Such a creative MMC
Post-apocalyptic
Special peen
Special sauce
Ferocious demon beast
Human sacrificed to save the village
Cool glowing extras
Exhibitionism
Primitive but innocent MMC
Take no shit resilient FMC

A great balance of spice, world building and plot and the perfect length. I mean... The perfect length in lots of ways. My only complain was the repeating wording on FMCs lips, mouth and her breathing, but good pacing and action and characters.

I enjoyed this quick read

This is perfect for a book hangover. I loved the smut, I enjoyed the characters and the world was interesting, but not overly complicated. As well with the plot, it was not overly complicated and there was a lot left to explore for future books. This was a fun quick read that did not require my brain to think real hard. I was able to just enjoy a cute story with low angst and hot smart, perfect for a book hangover.

This is a good one. I just wished it was longer and there were more communication between the main characters. It felt rushed specially towards the end, it felt like the author could've put more depth (descriptions and progress on how they communicate atleast and the changes in their hearts specially the MC) into the main characters' relationship. But I still appreciate that she made a story like this, it has potential to be a big thing.

This was great! It starts with Bridget who kills in self defense and is tied to a pole and left for the monsters. They take her and tenebrous (tene) takes her from them.
It’s a great monster/human story. Bridget’s internal musings were hilarious and tene is a big cinnamon role.
This was my first read by this author and I’ll really enjoyed it, I’ll definitely be reading more of her work!
