Shiloh Norman wasn't a typical omega... He liked his boots tall, his shirts short, and his Alphas big and bad. He gave just as good as he took, and he could ride a cowboy like the devil. Working at the pleasure house in Greyhound's Canyon, Shiloh was content with his life in the town of Westminster until he finally met his match. Michael Cox was a stone-cold killer. A ruthless bounty hunter with a wiry grin, a smoking hot body, and legs that would make even a bull shudder. Shiloh knew he was in for the ride of his life when Michael came to his bed. It ended just as quickly as it started and Michael Cox disappeared like doused smoke from a fire. Good riddance . Even though Shiloh's heart had beaten out of his chest at the mere sight of the black leather-clad Alpha, with his wicked guns and dimpled grin, Michael Cox was the sweetest sin. Shiloh was getting on just fine without him until he was taken in the middle of the night by Michael's sworn enemies. Can Shiloh survive? Or will Michael have to unleash the animal inside him to get his Omega back?

This was from the tbr stack, and it's free on amazon right now. A cowboy shifter romance. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this one!
💜 a western, taking place in the late 1800s 💜 wolf shifters 💜 sexworker omega/ gunslinger alpha 💜 revenge 💜 "otherworldly creature" villain
Shiloh works at a pleasure house as the only male omega. He stays busy, saving up to get out of town and see the world. He wants to be free. He's been working at the house for five years, recovering from a BAD situation. Things are looking up for Shiloh until the deaths start happening and the gunslinger comes to town.
Michael, the gunslinger, is out for revenge. For five years, he has been hunting the creature who killed his pregnant omega wife.
Shiloh and Michael's paths cross, their histories intertwine, and they can't fight the passion and the chemistry between them.
Can they survive the creature? Will Shiloh's past catch up to him? Can they survive the lies and secrets Michael carries?
This story was way out of my wheelhouse, but I found myself enjoying the story and the characters. Especially Shiloh. Who doesn't love a survivor?
Wild Hearts Omega is the first book in the Whiskey & Scars series and (I think) takes place in an omegaverse United States sometime after the Civil war where everyone’s a shifter. However, there are several mentions of red dirt and the Outback, so this might take place in Australia? There are mentions of mpreg, but the two characters, for all that they fuck like bunnies after a lengthy flirtation, are not pregnant by the end of the book.
This book had me hooked from the very first page. Shiloh was a unique and independent omega, and Michael, the dangerous bounty hunter, set the pages on fire with their sizzling chemistry! The author's descriptive writing style transported me right into Greyhound Canyon, and I felt every emotion alongside the characters. When Shiloh was taken, my heart was racing, and I couldn't put the book down until I knew what happened next. Wild Hearts Omega is an absolute must-read for anyone who loves thrilling romances with a dash of suspense! I highly recommend reading this!
I didn’t know what to expect when I started reading this book, but it definitely wasn’t what I found in this delightful book. The storyline is a refreshing twist on the werewolf shifter trope. Hart’s version of the shifter world is unique in that it featured Shiloh Norman, a down on his luck male cowboy shifter who is working as a prostitute in a small town out west during the 1800’s. Shiloh has a lot of lovers/admirers/clients that would like to have a more permanent arrangement. Despite his profession, Shiloh has a lot of friends in town. Together these two groups make an interesting cast of crazy characters. Shiloh’s goal is to make as much money as possible so he could move on to another town because he is on the run from Sampson Elder, a former associate of his father, who left him for dead after having him beaten. Shiloh lost his wolf as a result of the beating, so he is left without the protection and power of his wolf form. Enter Michael Cox, a gunslinger in town with two purposes. He is there to hunt a monster that is killing and eating people, including his wife and child. He is also working for Sampson Elder watching Shiloh. There is an interesting dynamic between the two, and eventually Michael and Shiloh become friends, and Michael starts to protect Shiloh.
The story had me smiling, laughing, crying, and wondering what was going to happen next, fueled by the different twists in the story. The book is s steamy, emotionally charged, western shifter romance with humor, drama, and a great ending. It is definitely worth your time.
I enjoyed the storyline in this book. Omega/Alpha books are one of the genres I really love. Shiloh has had a tough time in his past but is currently on top of his game as the only Omega in a cathouse (aka he's a sex worker). The story takes place in the old west. I like Shilohs character. He wants out of town and away from the man who hurt him. Someone or something starts killing people who Shiloh knows and loves. A gunslinger shows up in town and Shiloh takes an interest in him. However, Michael is not interested in anyone.
The issue I had with this story is that for me it didn't read smoothly. There was some reiterating things where it didn't need to be mentioned. Then there were things that seemed to just be added that may have needed more explanation. The dialog was a bit corny at times but it was fine. There was a lot of spice and heat which was great. The characters changing their attitude suddenly didn't work for me. Michael is constantly thinking or saying I need to find my wife's killer but then suddenly he changes and it's no longer a priority doesn't seem right. The same with the sheriff's son. I feel like it needed a bridge for them to get there.
At any rate, as I said, the plot is totally interesting and entertaining, maybe the book just needs some editing to streamline the flow of the story and write in a little to bridge the gap for Michaels character and Careys character.
The book was well-written and kept my attention throughout. The MC’s had an instant connection, and although Michael tried to deny his attraction at first, their chemistry was amazing. Shiloh was so sweet and sassy and I loved how he mingled among the other citizens with little to no negative interactions. Each of the characters had issues, trauma to overcome, and a horrific mystery to solve, and the story had me on the edge of my seat waiting for the conclusion. Even though they were complete opposites, they fit perfectly and were truly meant to be. You could see the attraction is very mutual and I loved the dual POV so you could tell how they were both falling for each other and that it was more than just physical. I am so glad they get their HEA.
This was the first omegaverse story that I have read that was based in a different century. It was quite interesting to say the least. All in all, it was a pretty good book and well worth the read.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4 Michael is a gunslinger, on the hunt for a dangerous wild beast. When he meets Shiloh, an omega of the evening, he becomes distracted, intrigued, and determined to not become entangled with Shiloh.
This was a sweet story, filled with violence and vengeance. I know it seems they don’t go together but it worked. Shiloh was definitely a “soiled dove”. I liked that he had no qualms about his profession. Forced into it by circumstances beyond his control, he embraced what he became.
This book contained quite a few strong strong personalities. I thought the author did a decent job of making most of them subservient to Shiloh’s omega.
This was certainly a different Alpha/omega love story. Fueled by Shiloh’s need to get away from an evil in his past and Michaels need to kill the monster that ruined his life. All this in an old west setting worked really well.

This book started out really good. It was engaging and unique, but as I continued reading, I lost interest. I liked Shiloh's character. He embraced his profession and did the best he could with what he was dealt. He didn't let alphas control him. He was a bada$$. Michael's character was intriguing and dangerous, at first. I think his character did a complete 180. At first he was distant and mean, but then suddenly he was tender and caring. It just didn't work for me. I really wanted to enjoy this, because the blurb was intriguing and the setting and world was different from other A/B/O romances. This one just didn't work for me.
This book swept me away with its intoxicating mix of romance and suspense. Shiloh, the unconventional omega, had me rooting for him from the start with his strong-willed personality. The connection between him and the enigmatic Michael Cox was electrifying, leaving me eager to uncover their fate. The author's evocative writing transported me to the vibrant world of Greyhound Canyon, where scars are worn as badges of honor. The gripping storyline kept me on the edge of my seat, anxiously hoping for Shiloh's survival and the reunion with his alpha. If you're looking for a thrilling and passionate read, don't miss this book!
3.5 ⭐️ this was a hard one to rate. It appears to be a first book for this author so I rounded up. There were a few things I was frustrated with- the repetitive descriptions and internal dialogue. The exact same wording used multiple times! There where some contradictions in the storyline as well as some things that were brought up and never followed up on.
What I liked- the overarching storyline was really unique and I love the old western vibe with the added a/b/o elements-fantastic. The world building here is so interesting and has great potential. I just think some more editing would make this phenomenal.
I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this story but I enjoyed it. The gunslinger and the prostitute. It’s a trope as old as the Wild West but this was a unique take on it. I didn’t much care for some of the characters and bits of the overall plot left a gap that bothered me. I did however like the main characters, even if Michael had his priorities skewed up in the beginning.
This is my first full-blown western omegaverse story and I loved every minute of it. Shiloh and Michael have an instant connection and one amazing night, then bounty hunter Michael heads off into the sunset. That is, until his enemies decides to get to him by taking Shiloh hostage. Major mistake. The plot also involves a great murder mystery.
This is my first read from this author—book starts out really good but seems to lose steam halfway through. Very well-written as far as storylines and characters but it didn’t hold my attention for some reason.
He may be an omega but he is not your typical omega and he is about to meet the one for him. Life is about to get very interesting for him and this new man who enters his life. How will they get on? Will they become a couple? See if it will all work out for them both
Shiloh’s and Michael’s back stories really tugged at my heartstrings. Shiloh didn't let the alphas control him. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I received an ARC of this book for my honest review.
This is a captivating read for fans of steamy, action-packed M/M romance, particularly those who enjoy cowboy shifter stories, hurt comfort, and rejected mates tropes, as it promises a exhilarating and emotional journey of love, survival, and redemption.
Wild Hearts Omega really played with my emotions. Shiloh’s and Michael’s back stories really tugged at my heartstrings. And there’s all the mystery to the violent murders as well to be solved. Good story all around
