Oscar places an ad for a receptionist, and Gabriella answers it. What could go wrong with this?

Oscar Dailey was ten when his life was turned upside down. His human father’s alcoholism altered their lives in a deadly way. His bear shifter mother couldn’t stay in their hometown; the memories were becoming too painful. So, Oscar’s mother packed up their life in Orange, Massachusetts, and moved to Drake, Colorado.

Gabriella Bonocchi lost her parents and siblings one fateful night when she was seven. A drunk driver crashed into her family vehicle, killing everyone but her. Child welfare services packed Gabriella up and moved her to live with her aunt in Denver, Colorado.

What will happen when they discover the drunk-driving was Oscar’s father and that the accident that changed his life also changed Gabbi’s?

I started my journey as a reader but quickly learned how much I enjoyed everything about romance, so I picked up the pen in 2017 and haven't looked back. Writing various genres, paranormal romance is my go-to. However, I do have a few mysteries and contemporary romances under my belt.

My favorite books involve characters that aren't perfect and have room to grow or a good mystery you can't easily solve. With each new book, I keep this in mind and enjoy creating complex worlds where my characters take the stage.

When I am not creating fantastic new worlds for my readers to get lost in, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my two rescue dogs, Sammie and Jake.

Gabriella and Oscar have been through a lot , after an accident when they were both younger takes them both to Colorado. They meet years later when Oscar puts an ad out looking for a receptionist. Oscar is the Omega of his shifter clan and a mental health provider for his clan. When they meet it is sparks at first sight and when they find out they are mates both of them couldn't be happier . Until the day they find out that one night that changed his life changed Gabbis also. Will they survive what happened and will they survive the threats that are haunting them .
Oscar and Gabbi are such sweet characters Oscar is a sweet guy who is there for all those that need him . But there is a bit of sadness in him also. Gabbi is a sweet girl who has been through so much but has come through it . She is a happy ray of sunshine that brings happiness to all those around. They are sweet together and its insta love because of the mates tie. They do go through some bad but come out the other side still sweet . Prim is well she is evil and wow she is also off her rocker . We also get to meet pack members and friends of Oscar and Gabbi which are all influential on helping Gabbi and Oscar out . Each character is well written and have complexity .
This is a sweet fun read that you can read as a stan alone and finish it in an evening . The author paints a picture of a tranquil living in clan lands and a sweet love story between two people that have been hurt in the past.. Characters have been well written and you will fall in love with them. So if you want a fun sweet book for an evening check it out

My friend and I read these as a joke together, hoping for entertainment from another wild paranormal romance. I was not even going to write a review or add this to my reading goal. But dear God, the best way I can describe the level of relationships within this book is when you are playing the sims, and meet the only decent-looking townie, decide this is your husband and reuse the same interactions until there is enough relationship bar to make them marry and sleep together. Much like creating a storyline in the sims, the bare bones are in the book, but if you want tension, plot, or frankly, any emotion, you gotta make it up in your head by yourself. 2 stars because it was so outrageous I giggled.

At ten Oscar's human father not only changes his family's lives, but the lives of another innocent family. After placing an ad for a receptionist to work for him, he never expected to meet Gabriella, his fated mate. Gabriella lost her family at seven when they were involved in a traffic accident with a drunk driver. Oscar and Gabbie start to grow feelings for each other when it's discovered that his father is responsible for her losing her family. Will this discovery destroy their developing love or will it make them stronger?

Gabbie's tantrum as a child changes her life.
Oscar's father's bad decision changes his life.
They think they have healed, but together they find strength and continue to heal and love.
Weeeelllll... there is a deranged stalker to contend and maybe some conversations that seriously need to be had before they can move on but all in all I would say this is a great love story with a happy ending.
I mean what's a love story for the ages if there isn't at least a little drama. LOL

This is an amazing read that has to be read. The pace that it moves along with is perfect for the flow of the story. Speeding up and slowing down as needed which made for an enjoyable read. The characters are so real that you feel as though they are real and no matter what happens you want to be there for them. This book has to be read, there is no doubt about it.

I really enjoy Karen's approach to shifters and their family units. I would not necessarily need to shift but I would like the connection with my mate and the rest of the family thru family bonds. Her world development and characters are so real, I felt like I was right there in each scene. I could hear the birds, smell the water, feel the heat from the sun, feel the fear, feel the joy and more.

Two lost paths

They say trauma affects many. Gabbie and Oscar had no clue what they would find. Trauma, struggle, growth, and loss make for a rollercoaster of emotions. Danger lurks everywhere, as Gabbie quickly learned. Oscar saw one path, one he caught for. This was a quick, sweet read, with losts of knowledge shared.

Another fast-paced installment. I enjoyed seeing Oscar’s story in this one. The story had a good balance of romance paired with danger and a bit of suspense as well. I liked the incorporation of gods/goddesses as well that was interesting.

Tropes in here I noted were; shifter romance, fated mates, insta-love, tragic past, he falls first, danger, secrets, magical beings, and more!

Magic, mystery and love. Black Bears of Independence: Oscar has it all. Oscar and Gabbi are meant to be. I loved watching them and their supporting characters fight for their future.
An enthralling read.

Tragedy strikes both Oscar and Gabbie as children, only to have them come together as fated mates when they meet years later. Though it's not an easy road, someone is intent on breaking their mate bond , which could put their lives at risk. This is a rollercoaster of a story!

Oscar

To me, it’s clear Hall is a newer writer. I enjoyed the story itself, but the grammar, spelling, and word-usage errors were cringeworthy. If those things don’t bother you, give her a try.

It was well written and had a decent storyline but for some reason I found it kinda boring. I’ve read other K.R. Hall that I loved this just wasn’t one of them

Oscar and Gabbie's mating is written in the stars until it's undone, interferred with. Can they get it back? I thoroughly enjoyed their story.
