SAMMIE
On the run in a brand-new world.

Luck has been on my side since the space bugs came and destroyed everything I knew. Now, my luck has run out. Cast out into a dangerous new world with a psycho on my tail, I have to adapt fast to survive.

To add to my problems, I’ve caught the eye of a purple monster, and everyone knows the alien warriors are bad news. But this one comes barreling in on a clearly man-made war machine, then claims he lives with the very people I’m trying to reach.

Should I believe him? Or is this all just a trick?

DRAK’L
I’ve finally found her, and I’ll never let her go.
I’ve watched as each hunter in my group found his mate among our human allies, but I know my mate is not one of them. Eager to meet the female who will be the center of my universe, I set out in search of her.

When I finally find Sammie, she’s terrified of me. Unlike the females at the clubhouse, she still believes the lies that are spread about us. Desperate to prove that I live with the very humans she wishes to join, I return in one of the humans’ war machines, with gifts to woo her.

Can I convince her to come of her own free will? Or will dangers force me to steal her away?

This is a sweet and steamy alien romance with plenty of action and steam. Happily ever after, guaranteed.

Centicreeps hunting the hunters!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙💜❤️💚
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏🌍
Character development: 🙂🥰😎😄

The heroine: Sammie - since the bugpocalypse began, she had been living in an underground bunker with a religious family who allowed her to live with them because she was the same age as their oldest son Lucas. They had originally thought that she and Lucas would marry one day. Though while in the bunker, Lucas slowly went crazy and displayed psychotic tendencies. They eventually locked him up, but he escaped and started killing them all. Sammie and the youngest brother Billy ran away together but Lucas found them. Billy told Sammie to go and try to make it to the nearest settlement while he faced Lucas.

The Hero: Drak’l - he is a Xarc’n warrior who works in the mountains. He lives in the settlement called the Clubhouse. They were large and had mostly humans but were closely aligned with the Xarc’n warriors and their mates that lived in the lodge on the ledge of the mountain. Drak’l is the only unmated male Xarc’n warrior left, though new ones are being found and coming to their settlements all the time

The Story: Drak’l had been following Sammie and Billy for a few days, and he figured Sammy was his mate because she smelled so good to him. When Sammie left Billy to head for the Clubhouse settlement, he offered her a ride. She was wary of him since he was an alien warrior, and humans were initially told that the warriors were on earth for nefarious purposes, even though the warriors had explained that they were only there to help with the bug problem. It wasn’t long before Drak’l won Sammie over and they started traveling together.

This was another terrific Xarc’n warrior story. I like this Mountains spin-off series as much as the original. Though I do still have a few of those left to read and I plan to do so very soon. These all have a nice romance, steamy intimate scenes, and good storylines which usually come to a head with some big conflicts. The bug fighting is always interesting, and the world building is terrific. The descriptions of each of the bugs are awesome as well, they were like dog sized or bigger and were usually a sort of mishmash between two or three of Earth’s bugs. There are Flyers, Scuttlers, Lungers, and Centicreeps and they had blades, pinchers and poisons. I also like the descriptions of their technology and love the fact that a lot of the technological advancements come from the human tech wizards, who seem to be great at not only computing, but mechanical engineering as well.

Sammie's lived in relative safety since the bugpocalypse hit (in an underground bunker with a family that treated her like one of their own) until things went sideways in the worst sort of way. Forced out and on the run, this bug-infested world is dangerous and pretty new to her. That said, she does okay. She might not know how to fight the bugs (or about any of the advancements that have happened since the bugs invaded), but she's smart and determined and she has a destination in mind.

Oh, and she has a hunky purple alien interested in her.

Which sort of comes with its own set of problems (ehh, not problems exactly, but Sammie's been REALLY isolated because of living in the bunker and it takes a little for her to get up to speed) since she human/Xarc'n couples aren't even on her radar.

Fortunately, Drak'l is one determined hunter. He knows Sammie is the one for him and he's determined to show her he can protect and provide for her. This means wooing her slowly with gifts and sneaky dates. Heck, just spending time with her helps show her he's a catch (the big guy loves animals and they love him! That says it all, doesn't it?).

A dangerous situation, a whole lot of people Sammie needs to get acquainted with, a couple of epic photo shoots, sneaky presents, a warrior determined to protect his lady, and a lady who has a whole lot of catching up to do. GOOD STUFF.

Dealing with the Stubborn Human . . .

Xarc’n hunters were genetically created to defeat the bugs that are destroying planets. Earth has likewise been torn apart by the invasion. Right now, Sammie is on the run from a cult psycho killer, Lucas, who “flipped out” and in a rage had killed almost everyone in the bunker. His teenage brother Billy, a good friend to Sammie, stayed behind to keep Lucas from catching her and told her he would meet her at the settlement she was trying to find.

When she stopped, someone knocked on the door of the house she had entered! It was a huge purple male, one of the Xarc’n warriors. Drak’l is one of the warriors who is trying to find his mate. Others have found their mates among the humans, and he thinks he may have scented his mate yet has not found her until now. He is honorable and kind. Drak’l has come to save Sammie from the bugs. He is sure she is his, yet the mating signs are not there. Even Sammie refuses to believe that she is his. But he wants her to come willingly with him so he can take her back to the settlement where she will find other humans. However, he realized she was terrified of him. He gave her some of the humans’ names, hoping she would recognize someone and come with him. When she still refused, he went back to get one of the human’s “war machines” so she would know he was with them. Will she believe him then and go with him? Or will her stubbornness mean he has to forcefully grab her and take her away from the danger?

Glad

The author did a story of some bunker people.
Did not think they needed luke,
Hopefully they make progress around earth spreading how nto get rid of small nests.
Think the author should add some human only teams that go in cleared area, after teams kill fungus. Start rehabing areas. Starting with power stations, water, farms. With aliens helping with supplies, clearing debries.
Still want to see new series beyond area. How about they move to tackle other mountains nearby, then clear small cities, etc to they clear states.
I am confused about something. Lots of stories mention nuclear weapons. But other chemicals can flash burn, are not forever. So would expect they would use them instead since they knew there were survivors at first, and did not know about fungus.
Would be good if they cleared space to one of many government bunkers and finally got them to understand they are to help and work together. And make them earth citizens

"I did not want you to leave a part of yourself behind.”

Sammie is running for her life on a post-apocalyptic Earth Street when her night goes from bars to worse, and then an Alien shows up.

Drak'l knows there have been a lot of miscommunications between his people and the humans, but things have been improving over time ... then he meets a woman who has been living under a rock and struggles to earn her trust as he fights to help her save her life.

This kindle unlimited bok has a sneaky sense of humor, the story is humming along and suddenly I realize I'm laughing and loving this little moments. Add to that the way this story beautifully builds to a solid ending and UT was a real page turner for me.

I hope Billy is in future stories, he was one if many supporting characters that was particularly strong and enjoyable.

I loved this book. The Xarc'n series is one of my favorite alien romances, and seeing a new one always brings me so much joy! Great world building and wonderful characters. This story started with the action and danger right from the beginning and I was completely hooked. I loved Drak'l and Sammie. He was so sweet and I adored him from the start. Sammie believed the lies the government told about the Xarc'n trying to conquer Earth and didn't trust him at first. When he proved he had spoken the truth to her, she trusted his word. I liked that she was level-headed and willing to believe what made sense rather than conspiracies no matter how wide-spread they had been believed. This story was a fun, exciting adventure with an amazing couple and loveable supporting characters. I couldn't put it down. 5 stars.

Lots of action, loved these new characters! Sammie and Drax'l are definitely a survivor's story couple. Everyone they'd each known in their lives, they'd lost. Sammie was on the run from a murderous friend when Drax'l found her. He had to work to get anywhere with her, but he was convinced that she was his one. She needed convincing, like, a lot of convincing. I loved their story, Sammie didn't just fall for him right away, but that made it deeper. He helped her realize her strengths and gave her the tools to get her confidence back. I loved reuniting with all the characters from the previous books, and I'm looking forward to reading more in this series!

LOST & FOUND

Another amazing, cataclysmic story, of the fight for human survival in the face of an Apocalyptical invasion of continuous destruction by an insect like scourge from space! Xarc’n warriors who came from space help fight against the scourge and ultimately help humans rebuild their world….still hoping they might find mates among the human women! I loved the ingenuity and creativity of Sammie who was kept hidden through the attack until that didn’t turn out well and found herself on the run and exposed! Drak’l is still looking for his mate and the rest is a whirl of exploding action…drama…emotional conflict and sizzling action!!
This is my honest opinion!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Sammie and Drak'l are believable and empathic characters who engage your sympathies and interest from the beginning. Whilst being a standalone, for those who have read other books in the series it's great to meet characters from previous books and discover how they are and how the fight against the bugs is progressing. The world building in this series is excellent and I can highly recommend this book whether you're a first time reader or someone wanting to continue the series.

This is book 6 of this amazing series I loved the Xarc’n warriors in the city but this series with the warriors in the mountains are even better and this story is about Sammie and Drak’l. Sammie is on the run from a human psycho when Drak’l finds her Sammie isn’t convinced that Drak’l won’t kidnap her but as she gets to know him she realises how she wasn’t told the truth about the Xarc’n warriors. There is so much more going on in this amazing story I loved it and the characters and I definitely recommend this book/ series.

This is another one-sit read for me and I'm loving that more of these warriors are finding their mates. Drak'l scented Sammie but had a ton of work ahead trying to convince her that he was a 'good guy' and her mate. She had been living in a bunker and still believed the original propaganda about the Xarc'n having caused the bugpocalypse. Of course they didn't and he shows his worth to her. Expect a ton of action, right from the get-go, danger and steamy romance to have you madly flipping pages to see how everything unfolds ;D

Love this series!
It's time for Drak'l to find his mate. Like all the Xarc'n warriors, he scents his mate and will do anything to make sure she is protected from the scourge that has invaded Earth. Sammie is on the run from a crazed zealot from her old bunker. The madman thinks she has been promised to him by God. When she meets Drak'l she's leery. Before the fall of Earth's governments, they proclaimed the Xarc'n enemies working with the scourge. Leery or not, she's willing to give him a chance. She didn't expect him to suggest they "do the dating." A fun read.

I enjoyed this one, but there was something missing. A lack of excitement and urgency maybe? The joint teams of Xarc'n and human warriors still have a fight ahead of them to completely clear the earth of the scourge but the going is slow and tedious. I feel like a time jump would not be the worst thing, we could focus on the hybrids and human volunteers training to go out and fight on other planets with their base of operations being a united earth that is finally bug free.

cute series

cute series, starts out aggressive and very violent but what bug apocalypse wouldn’t a lot of action wall to wall fighting and scary giant man eating space bugs. But underneath a romantic ALEIN romance. Deep into the 12th book of the 1st series and this book 6 of Rocky Mountain spin off series. It’s now 7yr into the initial post apocalyptic space bug attacks earth. And many alien couples and quite a few have off spring. And love the unconventional pets. Chickens, chipmunks, squirrels and at least 1 dog & cat.

This book will grab your attention right from the start with a crazed male psychopathic killer, a Xarca’n warrior meeting his mate and the apocalyptic space bugs out to kill her! And it doesn’t stop until almost the end of the book. It’s about fear: of meeting those who she thought of as the enemy, meeting new people and of the psychopathic killer finding her. But it’s also about learning to trust and even better, learning about love and finding her mate.

The sixth book in the Xarc'n Warriors: Mountains series. Sammie and Billy are running and hiding from his crazy brother Lucas they get separated, Drak'l a Xarca’n warrior finds her. The story is well written with a very good storyline that kept me turning pages. There is suspense, drama, danger, villains both human and bug and romance. The story is well worth reading. Hunter's Bounty

Sammie and Billy have finally made plans to get away from Lucas who had gone off the deep end and murdered many in their camp. Sammie found a fairly easily defended house and spent the first night. First she had to defend against a Xarc'n warrior. Drax'l found Sammie alone in a house and not wishing to be shot negotiated to prove he was with the settlement she and Billy were meeting at.

One Big Purple Softie

Sammie is trying to escape her bunker and Lucas, who has gone around the bend. Drak’l knows Sammie is his mate, and once he helps her and proves he’s safe, he wants to win her heart. I loved Drak’l, what a character, with his “no fresh” and his sneaky gifts. Sammie was great as a survivor who knew her limitations but wanted to really live. I love coming back to this crew, both at the clubhouse and at the Lodge on the Ledge - always a great read.

Another fun romp!

Drak’l is sure he’s scented his mate but when he finds Sammie running and afraid, and the mating bond doesn’t work, he decides he’s going to date her. Fun story about a sheltered woman who has to readjust her thinking and a warrior who knows she’s the one and that he wants to settle with her and make Earth his home. Nice visit with others we’ve met in previous stories. Likeable characters, fun and easy read.

Sammie and Drak’l

This is a very good, well written, Alien/Human romance with plenty of heart, heat, and action. The characters are well developed, interesting, and lovable. Sammie has lived a in a bunker until a crazed member kills most of the occupants. She is not prepared to survive. Drak’l has sensed his mate and wants to help her but she is terrified of him. This is the last story of this series. Read and enjoy.

Letting Go of the Past

I hope this isn’t the end of the Xarc’n Warriors in the mountains, not after that victory over the nest. I really enjoyed reading about Sammie and her big, purple warrior! Theirs was a sweet romance because he patiently waited for her to realize how happy he could make her. It was sexy, steamy, funny and full of great characters.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Drak'l was looking for his mate and finds her in Sammie. I like how Sammie changes from someone reliant on others to protect her to a fierce hunter by Drak'l's side. I also liked how Drak'l gave her the time to accept being his mate.

These books are adorable and wholesome. I never get tired of them. Drak'l and Sammie were so cute together. Their pasts were so similar. Drak'l was so cute trying to woo her. And oh boy was her past a doozy. It was awesome as always to see the other characters from previous books as well. Loved it. So good.

Drak’l is such a big cinnamon roll. If you’d asked me who his mate would be, I wouldn’t have described Sammie but they’re adorable together. This series is realistic enough in the way the humans behave to make me want to learn homesteading and disaster prepping. There would be so many Lucases it wouldn’t be funny.

Another cute addition

Quick read that follows the bug apocalypse storyline. Some crazy ex drama. Minimal spice. Honestly, it felt rushed. No description of how they became unstuck\unbonded. Very little descriptive language. Not even sure what Sammie looks like.

Good read

Drak'l wanted a mate very badly. And he found her but she was not convinced. Sammie had just escaped from a very bad situation and wasn't trusting an alien. Even through all of their troubles love finds a way. Enjoy
