This is a fast paced and totally engrossing book from the first page all the way to the end! Sarah is a widow who is about to be an empty nester too, so it’s no surprise that she heads to the Florida Keys for a vacation to pamper herself. Unfortunately, her dream trip turns into a nightmare when she witnesses a kidnapping and becomes the target for the kidnappers. Brent, a former Navy seal and a Guardian Protector, is on the job at Sarah’s vacation resort and appoints himself to protect her until the perpetrators are caught. Thus begins a sigh-worthy love story of both Brent and Sarah unexpectedly finding love together, even as they constantly face danger. The love story is told beautifully, with some steamy love scenes for those to whom that appeals. I was more interested in how the relationship developed and the mystery of who was chasing Sarah and what happened to the kidnapped girl Maggie. Good mystery, well-written suspense and a love story, too! Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommend!

Paradise!

I love Brent and Sarah's story, a new paradise Island, a new team and a new challenge has Brent looking forward to each new day, but Sarah's arrival makes him realise he is still missing an important piece.
Sarah may be taking her first solo vacation to try and find her new normal and focus on a future for herself now she is not needed as Mum every day...but she never expected to find love again. Having found her soul mate, then lost him in a tragic accident, she never expects to be swept off her feet by a gorgeous security agent who steals her breath and her heart.
A great start to this new series, I really like all three of the security agents for the resort, but also the great relationship they have with the local police....do they get books too? A fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited.

There was so much about Sarah’s life that I could connect and empathize with, and I think that made it all the more impactful when the danger and intrigue came into play in the story. I loved Brent. He’s noble and protective but not in any way an alpha-hole about it. The mystery Sarah was evading kept me anxiously flipping pages both to find out how it would turn out, and what set it off in the first place. Now that we’ve started to get to know this security team, I can’t wait to read more about all of them.
I received a complimentary advance copy of this book from the author.

What a delightful story. It just goes to prove that us ladies in our twilight years still have life left in us and I thank the authors for recognising that. Brent and Sarah were meant for each other from the get go. Brent a retired Navy Seal was at last in a job as head of security in the Florida Keys were he was truly happy never dreaming that love was going to knock him off his feet. Sarah on the other hand was having a solo vacation in the Florida Keys after her daughter was fleeing the nest to go to university. Again never thinking that love would also knock her off her feet too. A well written sweet story with ups and downs along the way but their HEA was beautiful. So looking forward to Nick’s story. I can highly recommend this story and indeed this whole series of books.

This was a mature instalove tale peppered with some action, suspense, romance, and a little heat.

I thought it was sweet that Brent and Sarah found one another and connected so easily. Everything thing in this book moved at a pretty fast pace.

Even the intrigue of why Sarah was a target moved along steadily. The resolution and reasoning was not drawn out, which I appreciated. I thought the Guardian Protector team was interesting and enjoyed this look into their Key West setup. 3.5 stars.

Terrific start to the Never Too Late for Love: Ellington Cove series. The story opens with a prologue explaining how the Guardian Agency became involved with the Ellington Cove Resort. I'm intrigued by the mysterious head of the Guardian Agency and would love to learn more about him. I enjoyed the interactions that led up to the formation of the team.

Sarah is a widow whose husband died fifteen years earlier, leaving her to raise their three-year-old daughter alone. Now that Vivi is a senior in high school, Sarah is facing an empty nest and the need to redefine herself outside of "Vivi's mom." So, while her daughter is on her school's senior trip, Sarah has come to Ellington Cove on her first solo vacation. Upon her arrival, she meets handsome and charming Brent.

Brent is a former Navy SEAL who felt a bit lost after leaving the Navy until the Guardian Agency hired him. He's settled into the work and with his teammates, Nick, Tony, and Gabby. He's never been interested in the hotel's female patrons before, but something about Sarah catches his eye.

I loved both Sarah and Brent. Sarah has made a good life for herself and her daughter but has avoided romantic entanglements. When she arrives at Ellington Cove, she admits it has also been lonely. She's looking forward to rediscovering who she is as a woman. She has a few insecurities because of her lack of experience and age. She is intelligent and mature, so her interactions with Brent and reactions to the danger are reasonable and drama-free.

Brent has settled into a job he enjoys and is getting to know his new home. He's good-looking, charming, and protective. His confidence in himself and his abilities is evident without being overbearing or arrogant. In one scene, he's involved in a fight, and Sarah is worried about him. She is told, "Trust me, the old man's a badass." Perfect description.

I enjoyed watching the relationship between Sarah and Brent develop. The sparks were there from the moment they met, which shocked them both. Brent feels he should leave her alone but can't resist the pull. Sarah is determined to explore the feelings he's stirred up. I loved that first dinner, where they connected quickly and enjoyed each other's company. Getting caught up in witnessing a crime wasn't on either's agenda, and both felt the disappointment of having their evening interrupted. I loved Brent's protectiveness and that he didn't allow it to overwhelm their connection. As the danger increased, so did his determination to keep Sarah safe and his need to get to know her better. I liked Sarah's instinctive trust in Brent and how that trust made it much easier to be herself with him.

I laughed at how well Brent could read Sarah's emotions, making it easy for him to understand her insecurities. I loved how he found many ways to show her how beautiful he thought she was. I loved watching Sarah blossom with confidence under his attention. Brent is surprised at how quickly he falls for Sarah and has a few worries about whether she feels the same. I loved his gobsmacked reaction when she told him how she felt, and I could feel his frustration when trouble interfered before he could respond. I loved the sweet and romantic surprise he set up for her and the depth of his emotion when he could finally tell her how he felt. The epilogue was terrific, and I loved seeing him with Vivi.

The suspense of the story had me hooked from the beginning. From the moment Sarah witnessed the suspect leaving the crime scene, I knew the authors had an exciting tale in store for me. I could feel Sarah's fear when the creepy guy from breakfast appeared to be following her later that day and her relief when Brent arrived. Attempts on Sarah's life made it clear that the bad guys wanted to eliminate the only witness, and only Brent's presence kept her safe. I loved the teamwork of Brent and his friends as they tried to track down the missing woman and keep Sarah safe. The intensity ramped up when the bad guys kidnapped Sarah. I was glued to the pages as Sarah made it as hard as possible on the bad guys, and Brent raced to find her before it was too late. I loved Sarah's confidence in Brent and how it gave her the courage to act on her own. The resolution was fantastic.

I can't wait to read Nick's story next.

Sarah’s Protector is the first book in the new Ellington Cove series by Regan Black and Josie Jade. It’s a fast paced romantic suspense book about Sarah Clarkson and Brent Stafford set in the Key West. It is a standalone book, but it is the first book in the series and I’m sure you will see these two again.

Sarah Clarkson is a single mom who takes a vacation to a place she has never been to, Key West, in search of finding herself again. Every since her husband was killed in a car accident 15 years ago, she has been the rock for her daughter and put her wants and needs aside to focus on being the being mom and person her daughter could have since that is all she has left in the world. One parent. She realizes with her daughter going off to college soon, she needs to find out what life will be like with an empty nest and as a woman. Maybe even a change of scenery. What she didn’t realize was that she would find out more than she ever could have imagined in the tropical town and luxury resort.

After Brent Stafford retired from the Navy, he had trouble finding his place in the world and when an old friend offered him a spot with the Guardian Agency he didn’t hesitate to say yes. When he was in the service, he never let himself get too attached or long enough to try to sort through feelings other than desire and lust. Now that he has found his footing in his new home, he thought he had his life all put together and having an occasional fling here and there would sate his need for partner in life. But he finds that he could have part of a dream he never thought was possible, but will it come at a cost and will he be able to share how he feels before it is too late?

From the moment Sarah and Brent lay eyes on each other, they know there is something different and special about each other that makes them gravitate them to one another. It all started when Brent offers to help bring Sarah’s baggage in from the hotel’s drive. When he sees her again at the Beachcomber, he realizes that fate just gave him a sign that he was meant. Something that led them both wanting more. The sparks were flying and the desire for one another was evident. And when danger interrupts their moment, he swears to protect her at all costs. Little did they know that the danger out there was targeted directly to her.

Sarah’s Protector has all the elements of a captivating romantic suspense with a HEA. There’s the action, danger, suspense, steam, desire, alpha male instincts, and more. I recommend this book to anyone who is in need of a good book to get lost in or need something to pass the time away during a quick rainstorm and a cup of tea.

Congratulations Regan Black and Josie Jade for delivering another fantastic book that gives us readers hope that it’s never too late for love and one day we all may meet our own ruggedly handsome alpha male.

Sometimes you think that certain things like love and marriage have passed you by, or that you can never have them again, but this book proves that anything can happen.
Sarah was widowed when her daughter was 3 years old and she spent then next 15 years devoted to her daughter, never having a life of her own. She doesn't regret it; Viv is her life, but it doesn't mean there haven't been times where she's lonely and would love to have a mans arms wrapped around her. When her daughter is 18 and goes away for a final school field trip before graduation; Sarah decides its time to do something for herself; and goes on a solo vacation to Key West.
Brent is a former navy seal working security at the hotel in Key West, of course its the hotel Sarah goes to. He's spent his life dedicated to his career and has never been in a long term relationship. Brent and Sarah meet when she arrives at the hotel and she thinks he's a bellhop. That night Brett goes to his favorite restaurant for supper and sees Sarah dining alone, he joins her, and they fall into easy conversation and the chemistry is strong. His plan is to walk her back to the hotel by the beach when they hear a scuffle, which causes them to see someone being kidnapped, and Sarah got a good look at one of their faces.
Things start to happen making them think Sarah is in danger and Brett becomes her personal protector and in the long run her hero. During that time they get to know each other and go on some fun dates. They are perfect for each other and while there are some decisions to be made; they both want to be together forever. Of course the bad guys do kidnap her ...... but Brett is her knight in shining armor.
It's a great story and I can't wait to read the next one, Janie's books never fail to make me feel good.

This story has it all: hot leading man, spunky leading lady, bad guys, action and a steamy romance.

Retired navy SEAL Brent has taken a new job, heading up security for an uber-posh resort. He uses the skills he's honed in the military to keep guests and hotel staff safe. Sarah, widowed for years and facing a soon-to-be-empty nest, arrives at the resort on Key West for some much-deserved vacation time. Brent is immediately attracted to the cute and curvy Sarah. Upon first meeting Brent, Sarah feels that same attraction but doubts herself almost immediately, fearing that she's a bit too naive and trusting. This is the first time in a long time that she's been on her own. She vacillates between being the brave woman travelling on her own and the play-it-safe single mom she's been for the last fifteen years.

In this mid-life romance, Sarah's transition from the single mom focused on the well-being of her daughter to a whole and vibrant woman is inspirational. Widowed at a young age, she's carried a lot on her shoulders for a very long time. She's forgotten what it's like to be half of an adult relationship. While she loves her daughter dearly and has a great relationship with her, watching her take something for herself while remembering how to have fun makes for a great read.

Woven into the romance elements of the story is a suspenseful plotline that puts Sarah in the crosshairs of an illicit organization. Brent's SEAL experience and his protective nature come to the forefront, making him an even more attractive character. Together, they are a great couple, both finding happiness a bit later in life.

Five stars for this mid-life romance.

This is an honest, voluntary review of an ARC of the story.

This is another in the “Never Too Late for Love” series by Regan Black & Janie Crouch. However, this is the first book that takes place in Ellington Cove.

Sarah has been a widow since her daughter was three years old. Her daughter, who is going off to college in the fall, is away on a senior trip to Spain. Sarah has decided to take a trip to Key West by herself to begin her new independent life as an empty nester. She has not dated since her husband died in order to devote her life to her daughter, so she is looking forward to finding independence and a little romance in her new life.

The minute she arrives at the Ellington Cove hotel, she meets Brent. At first she thinks he is a bellboy. But she soon finds out that he is the head of security for Ellington Cove, the luxury hotel she is staying at. Brent is a former Navy SEAL who works for the Guardian Agency.

They are immediately attracted to each other, so Brent decides to date her while she is there. Sarah agrees. Unfortunately, their romance is interrupted when both of them witness some men kidnap a young women from the hotel staff.

Sarah is so observant that she is able to provide in-depth descriptions of all of them. Therefore, the kidnappers decide they must kill Sarah to keep her from testifying. Brent is so attracted to her that he decides to become her bodyguard, while he continues to date her.

This romantic suspense is full of action and riveting suspense. Their beautiful romance is heartwarming while they are dodging dangerous kidnappers. Readers will be captivated with this story that combines excitement and romance between two middle aged people who prove that it is “never too late for love.”

Sarah’s Protector by Regan Black and Janie Crouch
Never too Late – Ellington Cove #1

Sometimes love happens instantly as it pretty much did for Brent and Sarah. Their relationship may have been smooth sailing but the trouble that found them was filled with danger.

What I liked:
* Sarah: widow for fifteen years, focused on and dedicated her life to raising her daughter, soon to be empty nester when daughter leaves for college, looking to rejuvenate her life on the vacation to Kew West
* Brent: ex-Navy SEAL, working security for the Guardian Agency in Kew West, fit and fine at nearly fifty, protective, lethal, team player, leader, works well with law enforcement, caring, and kind
* That the main characters were both older
* Meeting Gabby, Nick and Tony – the other members of the security team
* The plot, pacing, location, and writing
* The real feel of the quick romance between Sarah and Brent
* That the suspense in the story was believable and well done
* That all threads of the story were tied up neatly by the end of the story
* Knowing there is another book to look forward to

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Knowing that the evil men in the story are all to prevalent in real life

Did I like this story? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to the author for the ARC – This is my honest review.

This is a shorter novel but you'd never know it. It grabs you from Chapter 1 and moves you through the character introductions and plot development at such a smooth pace that you never feel rushed. Plus you really get to know the 2 main characters, Sarah and Brent. I really understood who they are and what drives them. While their relationship does develop fast, it felt real to me. Brent is a former navy SEAL that now runs security for a high-end Key West Resort. He is so an Alpha - strong and protective. Sarah is a widow and empty-nester on a solo trip trying to figure out who she is now. She's a great female lead in that she is strong, smart and yet still feminine. They are both over 45 which I loved. It was nice to be able to relate to a female lead that is closer to my age and who doesn't have the perfect perky 20-year old body. These 2 meet and are attracted to each other in a way that shocks them both. Then Sarah gets caught up in observing something she shouldn't and from there it's a mad dash on Brent's part to ensure her safety and their HEA. While I loved the story and both characters, Brent just steals the show for me. He is pretty much your dream guy, right down to his inner monologue. A great, fun, fast read that I highly recommend. Hoping Gabby get's her chance at a book too - she was a hoot.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "SARAH'S PROTECTOR" What an emotional intense, action packed, suspense filled rollercoaster ride that keeps you on the edge of your seat, kidnapping, steam, danger, twists that make for an addicting read to the end.
Sarah Clarkson's dream vacation to Key West turns into a nightmare she's been a widow for 15 yrs she has empty nest syndrome, 18yr old daughter Vivian will be off to College, she needs to have a life of her own its been to long she's been lonely.
Brent Stafford works for Guardian Agency being security at Ellington Cove Resort to protect the clients he's a former Navy Seal works with Tony Nick & Gabby, when he meets Sarah on arrival he's immediately smitten with her.
Sarah ends up witnessing something she shouldn't putting her in grave danger, someone wants her gone so she can't ruin their plans after kidnapping Maggie a hotel employee.
I definitely recommend to get this riviting fast paced story Sarah & Brent take you a very dangerous journey, he'll do everything to protect her, they become very close, will he kero her safe from the guts hunting her, will they get a HEA in the end its a must read to see how things turn out.
I'm so looking forward to "Angela's Protector" up next in this awesome series it's Nick & Angela's story it can't come soon enough.

We are back in Key West with a new collection of the Never Too Late for Love series. A reminder that being older, doesn’t mean that you can’t longer fall in love.
This time the stories belong to the new members of the Guardian Agency. An agency of protectors for those in need. These three men, all former Navy SEALs are in charge of the security of the newly renovated and luxurious Ellington Cove resort in Key West.
This story belongs to 48 year old Brent Stafford. He’s faced many dangers without fear but when he meets widowed, single mom Sarah Clarkson, he’s taken off kilter. She’s everything he never knew he wanted.
Sarah’s daughter is leaving for college and being an empty nester is liberating as well as frightening. But the beauty of the Keys and the attractive man she met should make for a great adventure.
But what happens when that adventure takes a turn when she witnesses a kidnapping? Will Brent be able to keep her safe? In the midst of the danger, can they trust their feelings and attraction?
This was a great start to the stories of these three brave men. Can’t wait for the next story in the series.
Kudos to the authors for the accurate descriptions of Key West and life in Florida.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

4++ Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ It’s never too late for love and this story certainly tells that tale. With the help of the Guardian Agency, Brent Stafford’s finally found his footing after leaving the Navy SEALs, and Sarah Clarkson’s come looking for hers now that she’s on the cusp of being an empty nester. Their connection is felt from the moment they meet and builds steadily from there. Even when things around them begin to get complicated, their feelings for each other continue to grow. Brent’s character is strong, steadfast, and true. Sarah’s independent and level-headed after being a single mom for most of her daughter’s 18 years, but she needs a boost to her self-confidence, and Brent’s just the man for the job and HOW!! Although their budding romance brings its own form of excitement, being witnesses to a crime and the subsequent threats to Sarah’s welfare ramp that excitement up quite a few notches, making this book hard to put down. Luckily, it’s a fast-paced read filled with lots of emotion, intrigue, suspense, and steamy passion. It certainly grabbed my interest and kept me thoroughly involved from beginning to end, as I’m sure it will you.

My favourite in the series i think. I really really loved it. The protector agency has set a new group in charge of an hotel and all the area around it. It's the first time they have guardians on the site so they choose ex seals and an technician. Brent is happy at this new role, like a home detective, taking care of the hotel clientele security and he loves his new team, since leaving the navy it's the first time he feel "at home" but he was not expecting to find love on the way.

Sarah is windowed and took care of her daughter alone for 15y....so for the first time she is taking vacation alone and choose a luxury hotel ...but awed by the place she can't miss the gorgeous man helping her. When witnessing a kidnapping put her in danger, the fact Brent is helping put her at easy as she gorw accustomed to the feelings blossomings in her. As danger grows, Sarah will start to realise her strength and accept who she is and what she wants.

i really loved this one, how things did not egt rushed between Brent and Sarah but how they built things on trust, a step at a time. Excellent romance;, lot of action, big suspense and HEA really a great second chance romance suspense

Never Too Late For Love series continues with a move from Heartbreak Key to Key West

Sarah Clarkson for the last fifteen years has concentrated on raising her daughter, after her husband’s untimely death. With her girl on holiday in Spain she’s booked herself her own get away to Ellington Cove in Key West. A bit of time to see how she moves forward, now she’ll have an empty nest. The last thing she expects is her reaction to the first person she meets.
Brent Stafford is the new head of security at the resort. After his time in the military he was a bit lost. However, the offer from Guardian Agency turned out to be perfect for him, and he’s settled, and loving his new job. Not one to have his head turned by the ladies, he’s surprised at his reaction to the new visitor.
These two meet up by chance a nearby seafood place, and when they witness a crime, Brent knows he will do his utmost to see it doesn’t have repercussions for Sarah.
I do love these later in life romance reads. The story moves at a good pace, and keeps your interest till the end. Looking forward Nick’s story.

I received a review reader’s copy of the book, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Sarah's Protector is another addition to the Never Too Late For Romance series by Josie Jade and Regan Black. As with the other books this one features an older couple meeting in the Florida Keys finding a bit of danger and surprise seasoned love. Sarah is on her first vacation alone since her husband passed away 15 years prior. Her daughter is on her senior high school trip and Sarah is mentally preparing herself on becoming an empty nester. One of the first people that she meets at her Key West hotel is Brent. He's handsome, charming and shows an interest in her from the moment that they meet. Brent does security for this luxury hotel and from the moment Sarah catches his eye he is charmed. On her first night out in town she runs into Brent at a local restaurant and after having dinner together they head back towards the hotel when they both stumble onto a crime. After that the drama begins when criminals start coming after Sarah. This was a quick story with light action and one hot and heavy scene. It was told from dual POV, stands alone and was a nice way to spend the afternoon reading.

A new collection of Never Too Late for Love romantic suspense! I love how these quick reads remind us that love and passion aren't just for the young. Us more mature folks can find those things as well as that special person to share our life with. Sarah's Protector gives us Sarah, of course, and her protector, Brent. The story is a quick read, so things happen rapidly - I'd say it's instalust that becomes pretty fast love, and we get the romance along with lots of danger and some intense action. Instalust, instalove, whatever you want to call it, it's hard to put down, and the combination of romance and suspense keeps the pages turning. The only complaint I have is that I really liked these characters, and I wish we'd had more time with this couple, even just a few more pages. It's not that anything was missing, It's just hard to say goodbye to characters I like so well. I can, and I will visit with Sarah and Brent again, and I hope to see a bit more of them as the series progresses. So, Janie Crouch and Regan Black have proven they make a pretty good team - the book is well-written, and fast-paced with characters you'll want more of.

I absolutely adore the fact that Regan Black and Janie Crouch are writing these never too late love stories, they do truly remind you to never give up on love. Sarah was in desperate need of finding herself and decided a trip to the Florida Keys was a great start, who knew it was going to be soooo much more. Brent is thrilled that he has a job that utilizes his skills he learned from being a Navy SEAL, but he gets the joy of living in paradise. Guardian Agency opening up a Key West branch inside a stunning resort couldn’t be a better gig and luckily it isn’t too intense. However a random evening out for both Brent and Sarah turns into a more dangerous situation that neither one of them was prepared for or expected. Thankfully Brent is amazing at his job and can definitely protect Sarah but will he allow Sarah to protect him? This was such a fun, nail biting read with some steamy moments that I urge any woman who still wishes for love to give these a read it will have you wanting to book your trip to paradise!

Her first vacation in many years has Sarah Clarkson arriving in Key West. The hotel and accommodations are all and more than what she expected. What she didn’t expect was to witness the kidnapping of one of the hotel employees. Now she has a target on her back, but luckily, she has the protection of Brent Stafford. Brent is a former Navy SEAL and works for the Guardian Agency as head of security at the Ellington Cove Resort. He never dreamt that after twenty years in the military that he would meet the most fascinating woman in the world. Sarah is a widow and has raised her teenage daughter, Vivi mostly on her own. As Brent and his team work to keep her safe, the attraction between them is undeniable. When she is threatened, she will fight to death. She has not finally found a second chance at love, to give up. The growing love between Brent and Sarah, the action and romance make this a truly enjoyable read. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation, from the authors, for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

I'm in love with this series - I'm obsessed with our older and mature characters that this author duo has been delivering to us.

Sarah has come to Florida Keys for much needed solo vacation. She's been dedicating her life to her daughter since her husband died. But now her girl is going to college and she's doing all she can think of to not feel alone after becoming empty nested. What she doesn't expect is to arrive in Paradise and meet a gorgeous man, get mixed up in some danger and at the end be swept off her feet by said gorgeous man.

Brent is living his life easy, after retiring from the Navy and ending up on the Keys. But when he sees Sarah, his life turns around. He wants to spend time with her for the duration of her vacation. When danger comes knocking, he's determined not to let it touch her. While he's doing all he can to keep her safe, feelings start to awaken and soon they can't imagine living without each other.

Once again this was a quick and fun read, with a splash of danger but with a whole lot of love.

When Sarah, who has been widowed for many years and raised her daughter alone, she decides it’s finally time to treat herself now that her daughter will be going off to college and being an empty nester. She takes a pampered vacation in the Florida Keys at a high end resort. Before she even enters the hotel, she meets Brent, who helps her with her luggage and also happens to work there as security to the guests. Brent has long retired from the Navy as a SEAL and this new job is exactly what he needs and keeps his training sharp, meeting Sarah was not on his agenda but something about her draws him to her. When she gets entangled in a kidnapping of a woman, he vows to keep her safe and hopes in the meantime she will give him a chance….as long as he can keep her safe.
A great read with mature adults which means mature handling of situations and no drama….loved it!! The connection and sparks was there as well as the steam, adding in the suspense makes it a page turner.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Sarah's Protector.
I really enjoyed reading this story . It's a wonderful later in life suspense romance . The Guardian agency hires a team of three retired military as security specialists and a technology assistant to work at the Ellington Cove resort in Key West . Retired Navy Seal Brent Stafford works as one of the security team at the Cove . He meets Sarah Clarkson when she arrives for her solo vacation . He's immediately attracted to her . Upon running into each other later that night at a local restaurant they share a meal and a walk on the beach . They happen upon a crime and Sarah soon finds herself in danger . Brent names himself her protector and as the danger increases so does their attraction and chemistry . This story is interesting and intriguing and definitely Suspenseful . I highly recommend taking the time to read .

I really love these ‘Never too late for love’ stories, this second collection has started with the same high standard the first collection had. Sarah was widowed 15years ago, and has devoted her life to raising her daughter - now that Vivi has gone off on a senior year trip Sarah has decided it’s time for her to think of herself and go on holiday for a change. Brent has spent the last twenty odd years in the Navy, mostly as a SEAL, and is now working with two colleagues as security at a Key West hotel. Their first meeting gets them both very interested in each other, but then Sarah witnesses a kidnapping! Will Brent be able to keep her safe, and will they both decide that they want to learn more about each other, or will she go home without acting on her feelings? I really recommend this book, it’s a fast read which will keep you hooked from the start. Looking forward to reading the other books in this series.

Sarah’s Protector is the latest in Regan Black’s and Janie Crouch’s “Never Too Late For Love” series, and while I knew I would like this series, I have to say I’m surprised at how much I LOVE it! Each book has been better than the last. In Sarah’s Protector, Sarah is a longtime widow and almost-empty nester going on her first ever solo-vacation. As we’ve come to expect from this series, action, adventure, and romance ensue! When Sarah witnesses what seems to be a kidnapping, she’s targeted by the perpetrators and Brent – head of security at the resort she’s staying at – comes to her rescue. From there the two MCs and the rest of the security team try and unravel the mystery of where the missing woman is and who took her as they stalk ever closer to Sarah to try and keep her mouth closed about what she saw.

This book did not disappoint! Exciting, romantic, and I love the angle of the more mature main characters compared to most romances out today!

Having read several books in two different, related series, I can say easily that this is my favorite of all of them so far. It was an excellent mix of romance and suspense, and midlife romance in particular.

I love reading midlife romances because I love stories about people who have baggage and entanglements and histories, and this book did a great job of highlighting all the reasons I love midlife stories. Even when bad shit is going down, our female main character (FMC) is using her baggage and entanglements to dig deeper and give her more strength and fortitude to make it through.

Actually, honestly, I would love reading a million stories with heroines like Sarah because she is practical and emotional and decisive and compassionate. She recognizes the shortness of life and the importance of personal bravery all at once. I absolutely adored Sarah, and I'm thrilled that she found Brent, and he is deserving of her. And vice versa.

Regan and Josie did a fabulous job on this book. I loved the way it was written. Lots of great description on what was going on.

Sarah went to Key West for a vacation. She never thought that things would happen to her.
Brent her Guardian protector would turn out differently.
Sarah didn't know she was in danger until she was being followed by the use of her phone. Brent stayed with her to protect her and when she was alone she felt unsafe.
Then she got kidnapped after expressing her feeling to him. She went to the ladies room and there was the man who had been following her she was taking away. Brent realized that she had been gone to long and went to look for her that is when the man had taken her from the ladies room. But she left a trail for him to find her.
This was a fabulous read with great description characters that matched great together.

Another later in life romance involving a soon-to-be empty nester mom and a retired Navy SEAL. With her daughter away on an overseas senior trip, Sarah has come to Key West for vacation and look at what her life will be like when her daughter goes away to college. But what she doesn't expect to find is love and danger.

Brent feels an attraction to Sarah from the first moment he met her but when circumstances put her in the path of danger, his protective side is brought to the forefront. As the danger escalates and they start spending more time together, the connection grows stronger. But first they have a mystery to solve.

It's so great read a series where the characters are a little more seasoned with life experiences. This is a fast paced read that will keep you turning the pages to the end.
