Greg Heffley will be the first to tell you -- middle school really stinks! He just started, and already the bullies are picking on him and his best friend is becoming way more popular than he is. Fortunately, Greg's mom gave him a journal -- NOT a diary -- so he can write it all down. Lucky for us, this unlikely middle-school hero is sharing his adventures with readers everywhere!
Diary of a Wimpy Kid started out as a Web comic and attracted millions of readers, and the book versions are proving just as popular. With funny cartoons on every page, Greg's middle-school adventures will keep readers laughing out loud until the very end! This special collection features the first three books -- plus a funny journal with fill-ins, blank space, cartoons, and more.

The diary of a wimpy kid series personally was a great series for me. I think that the biggest reason i liked the whole entire series was because Jeff Kinney mixed comedy with Greg Heffley's (the main character) problems. I also like how you can really connect to Greg's issues, even though they may seem a little bit silly.

One of the issues that Greg had was that his older brother Rodrick is a big bully towards Greg. Greg's brother Rodrick is a teenager who plays in a heavy metal band with some of his friends. The band is called "Loded Diaper". I thought it was really funny because Greg said that a lot of people may seem to think that Rodrick spelled loaded wrong, but Rodrick probably just didn't know how to spell loaded.

My friend's brother has the seem issue. His brother is always Bullying him around and telling him what to do just because he's a lot bigger. Except the only difference is that my friend never seems to do anything wrong. I'm not saying that my friends brother is a totally mean person. I'm just saying it's a thing i compared to the book.

Another example of Rodrick being a bully to Greg is that Rodrick found out one of Greg's really embarising secrets. I can't tell you what it was because this is basically the whole thing in one of the books in the series. Rodrick finds out a secret of Greg's and blackmails him or else he would tell the secret to the whole world

In the wimpy kid books many exciting and funny things happen.

Greg gets him self into loads of trouble, which most of the time blames

rowley for it. Greg has a pretty hard life because he gets in trouble

ALOT. Greg loves to play video games all day, but ever since greg's mom

bought him this diary his metalhead brother Rodrick teases him about

it.

Younger brother Manny makes tears, also get's greg introuble because

he's a huge tatle tell.

Best friend Rowley is clueless that greg brings him into things that he

did't want to do himself.

Greg gets a diary and he writes in it everyday,if someone found out

greg would be the "nerd" or the "weirdo". Apperently its weird if a boy

writes in their diary.

Which brings me into the real world because mostly girls have a

diary it's very rare if a boy has a diary and if a

boy has a diary then thats stupid or something.

I have had experience because one of my friends which is a boy had a

diary and his older brother made fun of him and so did all his friends.

Greg got himself into a lot of trouble, it seems like the diary gets

him all this trouble but isn't a diary supposed to help you not harm you!?

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: #1-3 & Do-It-Yourself Book is a great collection in the series Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

My kids absolutely loved this series. It is fun and will have you laughing out loud.

There are many books in this series some better than others, but they all have one thing in common, humour and the ability to make fun of oneself.

The pictures and jokes just make it all that much better.

Read along you won’t be disappointed.

Dog days
-----------

In dog days It was good because
Greg was funny and Rowley is funny to.
One thing I don't like about
it is that Rodrick is mean to Greg.
And I like it because it's a long book.
And some times I don't know a word
and I should not just skip the word
and try to figure it out.
And i really liked it because it
was once the NY times best seller.
mom liked it because it had funny
things about vacation.and I do not know
Wait! i got it i like poptropica and the
guys that made poptropica made dog days.

This book entertains the reader with humor and comedy "some people are so stupid that they stay in middle school forever." I would also like to lern about greg's school.I recommend this book for teens and small kids some of the personal situations will interest kids, but not teens or pre-teens.IF you like humor, comedy and language that makes you laugh, read this book.

I think the dairy of the wimpy kid dogs day was good .It was good because the character Greg Huffley changed by one event to another. Because at first he spent his summer vaction in his house and other people thought summer vacation was to be outside and realx. For me it shows me that no matter how you spend your vaction that importan think is that you have fun during your summer vaction. And another think it shows me is that when you have a dog that you realy want it takes lots of responsibility. I also relize that even if your dog does not like your dad is because your dad is being to sweet to the dog and rather be with you mother.

This book is fiction and The tag is humour.I like the Roderick rules one it's like you have a brother that tries to be cool. I would recommend this book for people who can relate and like to laugh. The lexile score on this book is 1000 and plot summary is first Greg goes to middle school then there is this cheese on the court yard and he touches it and now he has the cheese touch and now one will talk or touch him his brother throws this party and his parent finds out he gets kicked out of his band and Roderick helps Greg because his parent wants to see him act responsible and Greg gets back his friends and Roderick gets back in the band.

Greg Hefley's Journal and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules--Very funny comic book style diaries with a wimpy kid Greg who wants to be cool. Greg does various shortcuts for his homework and everything else. He always thinks his rather dumb ideas are brilliant, but many of them backfire/ although not quite all of them. Amazingly he has a friend Rowley although you wonder for how long? And he has a mean older brother that seems to get away with a lot more than Greg does.

I think that this book is a great book. I can crack up in ever chapter I read and I think it is very well writing. two weeks ago I really needed to read a new book. My. Teacher was pointing out stupid books that I would not like. So I pick out dairy of a wimpy kid and I love it that was when I was in middle school and that book can really help middle schoolers so I rarely really think you should read diry of a wimpy kid.

Picked up the Rodrick Rules book at the book charity auction in office.

Its a decently good book, and much much better than the tedious debacles I've been reading off late (Beatrice and Virgil, Truly Madly Deeply). Not your classic masterpiece, just an entertaining cartoon-ish book that you can read while you are eating by yourself. Thats what I did, at least.

These books crack me up--Kinney writes about real events that most middle school/elementary kids can appreciate. Reading these stories with my kids will stay with me forever as we laughed and drifted off into great conversations based on antics and situations in the stories. A must read for kids and parents!

reading the first book first book was okay. There were some parts I related to while reading. i really related with Gregory in the beginning part of the book about how school has changed from being if you were fast at running at school people thought you're so cool and amazing. Compared to now, it all depends if your good looking, money, and ect.

Again, this is a set of books that my 8-year old son just loved. He read these all through second grade and I recently bought the set for him. They are really funny and sometimes he reads sections to me while we are in the car.

The figurative language in this series is amazing! I love all the trouble the main character gets into and how silly he can be sometimes. I would definitely recommend these books to my students because it has rich vocabulary not to mention they are all AR books. Haven't seen the movie, YET.
