A Scifi Alien Dragon Romance

Choler has yet to find his mate among human females and Thora hasn’t found hers among the Vakhings, but when they meet, sparks fly… from their weapons meeting in battle. Ouch! There’s this tiny misunderstanding—well, attempted pillaging of women by the Vakhings—that turns into a kinda sorta kidnapping and suddenly Choler is involved in an intergalactic incident. Now he must use every ounce of his negotiating abilities as the Preor Ambassador and defuse the situation to avoid a massive war between Earth and the Vakhings. Oh, and also convince his mate he’s not the enemy but truly his in every way possible. From the tip of her pert nose to the fullness of her breasts and the perfect roundness of her—ahem. She’s perfect in every way. She just also happens to hate Choler for the whole kidnapping thing. Dammit. Faced with a tumultuous mating filled with emptiness, Choler must convince Thora he was an innocent bystander, but will she listen and soften her heart toward him?

I love the Dragons of Preor series. Now I don't know how it happened but I don't remember reading Tyff which was before this one. So, I might have to go back to that one. This didn't read the same as the others. It felt different. So, I have to wonder 2 things. Is this going to be a spinoff and that's why it's different? Or did too much time pass by between the previous books I read and this one and maybe the timing isn't meshing. That happens sometimes when authors take a long time to continue a series after a long break. Then it just feels forced and doesn't pack the same punch. I'm not blaming her or anything life happens and I completely understand that. This wasn't horrible but honestly I felt meh about it. Now the last DOP I read was Radoo and that was published in 2020 and Tyff was 2022 so that's quite the long break between books. It's a long series and even as much as I like it perhaps it's not holding the same interest.

Choler is a Preor who is sad that he hasn't found his fated mate and he is starting to wonder if there is no one for him. Then he gets asked by someone in the human government to help them with an unknown alien who they were able to capture after a group of them raided the Earth. When Choler entered the alien males cell, he is shocked to be hit with the Knowing. The alien introduces himself as Thor, a Vahking and is in shock too when he feels his blood sing, the Vahking version of the knowing. After some discussion, they realize that Thor's twin sister is Choler's mate. Now Choler has to negotiate peace between the humans, Preors and Vahkings but also win his mate.

Thora is the daughter of the Vahking king. The Vahkings have been wandering the universe pillaging and raiding. Now they have returned to Earth ready to claim women and riches. Thora is annoyed that her father won't allow her to go to Earth and fight. She is stuck on their spaceship controlling drones watching their people. When he twin brother does something stupid like missing his shuttle or getting hit by a bus, she is worried and angry. She sneaks off to rescue him but then she is shocked to feel her blood sing. She is also experiencing the Knowing but Thora believes that this all fake. Choler can't be her destined mate.

I really enjoyed this story and Thora is a great heroine! I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review

The Knowing hasn't found Choler but he continues to do his duty to his people on Earth. So when he is asked to help communicate with another alien he is shocked at his response to him. But with misunderstandings resolved will his mate accept who he is and will be?
Choler is the latest addition to Celia Kyle's and Anne Hale's Dragons of Preor series. I enjoyed getting to know Choler. He appears to be extremely laid back and a bit of a jokester...until he isn't. I love that he is underestimated by most people. And then he meets his other half. Only she doesn't appear to want to look beneath the surface.
Thora is used to being overlooked. Her father is a bit misogynistic. Women are good for one thing and it isn't their fighting skills. So why should she expect more from any male especially the one "supposedly" meant for her. She will fight the Knowing because she is sure it isn't real. But when danger finds her and Choler can Thora accept the male fated to be hers? I enjoyed finding out. Ms. Kyle and Ms. Hale did not make it easy for Thora or Choler. But I loved their journey to their happily ever after. They had to fight for their future. They had to learn to look beyond the surface. And they had to learn the fates are rarely wrong.
This was an enjoyable addition to this series and I am looking forward to where Ms. Kyle and Ms. Hale will take us next.

I have read most of the DOP series. I didn’t read Tyff so reread Radoo to get the feel of the series again. Choler had a bit part in that so I at least knew who he was coming into this book.
Editing was a bit off here and there. There was a problem with using her instead of him and he instead of she.
I mention the continuity because I had a big problem with the chapters where Thora and Choler are in the Horde ship looking for her father. For some reason I got stuck on the fact that from point A to point B to first meet Odyn they bring up a contingent of dignitaries and are meeting in a conference room instead of the bridge, where they first set off for. There was enough time for this? Was a scene cut? I don’t know I actually reread that chapter to see if I had missed something, but nope.
And then there is the fact that while the Horde experience the Blood Song, similar to the Knowing, after a couple of chapters Blood Song is completely dropped and the Horde are also referencing to it as the Knowing
I had a hard time connecting to this book, but am definitely going to read the first book in the new Horde series to see if the writing and continuity gets better

I received an ARC from the authors but am freely writing this review

Three and a half for this fun read.
Its been a while since I read about the dragon's of Preor who have settled on Earth but I remember the books as fun, sexy and just perhaps a little bit silly which isn't necessarily a bad thing.. This book features Choler who has so far struggled to find his Mate even though numerous of his brethren have very much embraced relationships with human females. When called to translate with an alien of unknown species he's attacked by a deadly, female with horns ! Looks like Choler might have found his match after all, it's just a shame that she wants to kill him !
I think for me the star of this book was Thora and I loved that the author has taken Norse legends and given them a whole new slant. If blunt because its been a while since I read this series I didn't initially understand why the supporting character Peter was quite so obnoxious but nevertheless this quick read helped me while away an afternoon with a smile on my face.
This voluntary take is of an advanced copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

This is a separate series to the original Preor dragons and I have to say that I have found these to be an entertaining read. There are quite a few aliens in town and they are new and the inhabitants have not seen them before so they are creating quite a stir.
The Vahkings are trained and Thora is a talented shield maiden that had been tried with a job of great responsibility, unfortunately she had not needed to put this training to use. Choler is her very own dragon warrior and he believes that he is equipped to deal with any and all action, whether negative or positive that might possibly harm her.
This is an entertaining read; I guarantee that you will enjoy this book very much.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Not truly a Preor book

This book is so vastly different from the first 14 books that it doesn’t even feel like it’s part of the series. Loved the Ujal and earlier Preor books, but did not like this one. Way to many inconsistencies and continuity errors within the book and between this book and the earlier books. It almost feels like it wasn’t even written by the same authors as previous ones. I think this was suppose to be a transition book into a new Viking themed series but the Viking lore is way way off the mark, and as this one was so poorly written, I don’t plan to read the next series.

I think what upset me the most is that this book felt like this was Thora’s book and that Cholar was a side character instead of a main Character. Read the first 14 books but skip this one.

Earth is becoming an intergalactic mating site. Earth has just gotten used to the Ujal and Preors and now here comes the Vahkings. They had been to earth before and established a kingdom (the Vikings) and are pretty much of the same mindset still. There come to pillage and find females because like the other races, most of their women can’t have children.

Different from the other stories because Choler doesn’t have a human mate. His mate is one of the few Vahking females who can have children. Thora is a strong woman but she is overlooked because she is a woman in a very male dominated society. She is not meek like most of their women.

This does introduce a new series that begins with Horde Queen.

Choler (A Scifi Alien Dragon Romance)

I have read all of Celia Kyle’s books and they ALWAYS pull me in from the first page to the last. I have loved her Dragons of Preor series. They are well written, suspenseful and funny. However, Choler was different, but still like all of the other books in the series. She introduced a new book series about Vahkings!! I loved the book and didn’t put it down till the end. My only complaint is that it didn’t mention any of the other characters from the Preor series like she usually does. I loved Thora and how she handled everything that was thrown at her. I cannot wait to see were the Vahkings series goes from here.

Though I enjoyed this to a certain extent, I didn’t love this spin off from the Dragons of Preor series.
This really didn’t have the feel of earlier Preor books and I wonder how much input Ms Kyle had with this.
Thora was just too much of a mean girl for my liking.
The plot was also very similar to earlier books. The unhappy treasonous crew members causing problems due to not wanting to mix bloodlines was reminiscent of the early Preor books.
I also found it strange that the Vahking’s Blood Song was continuously called the Preor Knowing in the second half. Why would they change the wording of their own beliefs to that of another species?
This is my honest review of this book which sadly is not in KU.

Unlike most of his brethren the Knowing hasn't revealed itself to Choler.
But when it does, it's in the most unlikely circumstances.
With a male.
A Vahking male.
Vahkings have returned to Earth to plunder and pillage as is their tradition.
That's the twist.
Choler and Thora meet during a highly charged attack.
They both try to resist the Knowing in their own way.
Following that their "courtship" is anything but traditional, romantic, or normal.
More fighting, betrayals, mutiny, hostage situations, and danger follow.

I received a advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary review.

This was an entertaining introduction to a new species. Earth is finally just getting used to the Preor when Valkyrie enter their world. This newest addition brings a new romance between them and Choler is the lucky Preor to get the first taste but he so was not expecting Thora. She is such a strong character and isn’t afraid of anything but when her blood Sings for Choler she is in denial. What happens next was a fun read that didn’t disappoint. I enjoyed watch the characters finally fall for each other and it wasn’t an easy HEA. This was a cute addition to the series and I can’t wait for more!

Choler seems to be very different from all the earlier Dragons we've met in this series and I did miss seeing any of the other characters we'd already met but I did like the new characters introduced in this one about Choler and his fated mate, Thora the daughter of the Vakhing overlord. An enjoyable and interesting introduction to the Vakhings and their society, but was sad that Choler is the only Preor in this book which does, however, have lots of action as well as the heat we have come to expect.

I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing my review.

This is a spin-off of the Preor dragon series and it is quite good. There is a new alien in town and they are based on the Vikings of old. I really thought this was a clever spin to revitalize the dragon series. Thora trained as a shield maiden but was never given the opportunity to use those skills. Choler is her dragon warrior and the action is preset much nonstop. Definitely a breath of fresh air. I love when an author uses Earth history to spin a new tale. Good reading❤️❤️

It was interesting to read about the mistaken mates. Fortunately for those involved, it was quickly resolved. However, Thora was not impressed and in complete denial. But there’s no denying the Knowing, is there? A lot of her resentment was from the lack of her father refusing to acknowledge her worth. Choler wasn’t like that. There’s lots of action, danger, love and betrayal to keep your attention from start to finish.

This was a great addition to the Preor series. I loved that as protective as the Preor can be Choler supported Thora in her need to be a warrior too. He never doubted her ability and encouraged her throughout their escapades. I am looking forward to more stories about the humans, the Preor and the Vahkings.
I love reading anything that Celia writes. Her humor is part of what makes these stories so fun to read. Highly recommend any of her books.

Interesting storyline

Although I enjoyed this story, parts of it drove me crazy. The author has some great ideas but truly needs a decent proofreader. There's no excuse for the number of sentences with words scrambled up or repeated for no reason or typos. Why 4 stars instead of 5? Simple. The cutesy poetic phrases - especially during the love scenes just became too much. Too much.

Where are our old friends

While every book has been a stand alone, to some extent there have been ongoing characters. That was missing. Choler doesn't behave much like a dragon of preor has in previous books. Thora is an ok character but the new alien race seems a bit rushed. If this is supposed to be that start of a spin-off I wish it had been made clear.

Hmmmm

I love the Preor, and I've been looking forward to Choler's book. I am giving this a 3 star because the book just didn't feel like the rest of the series. We saw a lot of Thora, which isn't bad, but not nearly as much of Choler, which was bad.

The language and flow felt different to me too.

New Aliens!!! Love it. Vikings are back or as they're called Vahkings. This book is about Thora, twin to Thor and Odens children. They come and raid Earth and Thor misses the ride home. 🤣 So Thora goes to save her twin and her Blood Sings for Cholar. Some Vahkings want to kill Cholar to start a war. All arouns a fun read.

Very good

I love Thora!! She was the toughest one of all of her people. She fought hard to protect her father. Her twin stuck back on Earth. Choler is a fun loving happy Preor. The Knowing surprised him. Thora was determined to push it away but gave in during a fight for her life. Loved it!!!!

Choler

The Vahkings, known as Vikings are back and one is captured pillaging. All of it leads to a treaty with humans and Preor and Cholar's marriage to the Banking princess Thor's. Good story.

Nice one thinks so

How can a female possibly reject a male who always thinks she is perfection no matter how she looks or what she does. After a lifetime of being told she would always be inferior just because she was female it's a total turn around.

Choler was my favorite Preor. I got dragon’s and now Vahkings! There was a lot of action involved with this introduction to the new earth visitors. There was a good blend of Preor and Vahkings to make Choler and Thora’s story fun to read.

Choler

Who would have seen Vahkings landing on earth and the Knowing happening between Preor and Vahkings? Choler definitely is worthy of a mate as in Thora the daughter of the Chieftain.

A fun premise

The Preor aren't the only ones gallivanting around the universe this book proves it. It's easy to tell from the writing that this was not written by Celia Kyle. Celia's writing and narration flows, this one has sharp edges and some choppy dialogue still a fun read
