The O'Callaghans #2

Imagine With Me: A With Me In Seattle Novel

Rate this book
From New York Times Bestselling author Kristen Proby, comes an all new novel in her beloved With Me In Seattle series!

Shawn O’Callaghan loves his job as a screenwriter almost as much as he loves his family. But this latest project could quite possibly test his patience beyond anything he’s ever had to endure. Generally unflappable, the author he’s thrown into the trenches with pushes every button he has. Sometimes twice. And it doesn’t help that he can’t stop thinking about her in ways that are anything but professional. But how can he help it? The redhead is gorgeous beyond reason—and utterly infuriating.

Bestselling author Lexi Perry is finally about to leave her mark on the world; after all, seeing her dark and dangerous words brought to life is a dream come true. Until she meets the man who is supposed to make that happen. From the minute they laid eyes on each other, it was clear there would be tension, but she had no idea how much until they got down to business. He obviously doesn’t understand her vision. Though she’s having trouble lately too, given all she can picture is what he looks like under his clothes and imagining what it would sound like if he talked dirty to her in that sexy Irish lilt of his. If they can find a way to meet in the middle, this movie could be one for the ages. As could their love.

My Review:

I discovered this author just recently and haven’t read most of her series, but I have greatly enjoyed the ones that I have picked up. Each can stand alone yet the infinitely likable and highly appealing characters and their storylines appear and carry over in most of the installments. Written in my favorite dual POV, the storylines were engaging, easy to follow, low in angst, and sizzled with adult sensuality. I adored the featured couple of Shawn and Lexi, they scorched the sheets and undoubtedly, the ceiling tiles as well.

It's only the second book featuring one of the O'Callaghans as the hero, so I won't say they've taken over favorite KP family from the original Montgomerys, BUT the O'Callaghans are definitely on their heels. The O'Callaghans have breathed new life to the WM series with their lively charm & unwavering love for their family. Throw in a bit of broodiness in the boys & some fiery sass from the girls, it's a pretty dynamic combination...Oh & ya know, their Irish lilt doesn't exactly hurt 😉.

As for the book itself...
IwM starts off with an absolute favorite trope of mine -- enemies-to-lovers. KP quickly hit the nail on the head building tension between Shawn & Lexi, but here's also partially the crux of why I'm not rating it higher. I've read somewhere around a dozen or so of KP's books(mostly the WM series to be a bit more exact) & there's a bit of a pattern. For whatever reason, she frequently lets the tension dissolve a bit too quickly. I wouldn't say IwM is a glaring offender in that sense or a lost cause, nor are all the situations are written identically, but if you're like me, the little niggling sense of déjà vu takes you a little out of the rhythm of the story that's been set up to this point. I felt like I was just settling in & enjoying them butting heads. So ideally I would've preferred to hold onto the delayed gratification a few chapters longer & continue to raise the stakes a bit more, THEN let the sparks between them erupt into an unexpected confession or act of passion. BUT again, it's more so due to the pattern & a little personal preference, not so much that in & of itself was badly done.

Then there was Shawn's kink. It just isn't my cuppa. So I did some brief skipping over when it reared up in the story. It didn't overtake the story, so I'm not too bothered honestly.

Beyond that, I still enjoyed IwM thoroughly. As I said at the start, the O'Callaghans have done wonders for the series. Shawn is one of the key catalysts to bring the spark back to WMIS(imho the series kind of lacked when it was rebooted with the Crawford brothers). He was a little overconfident & presumptuous at the start, but soon enough & a little reading between the lines of his actions, it sweet to read how supportive & encouraging he grew to be for Lexi as she was finding her way & opening herself up more. Lexi had some social anxieties to work through, but that's not to say she was a shrinking violet by any means. She had me laughing & cheering her on when he needed put in his place at the beginning(some later too, but not as much) & she did so without so much as flinching. I LOVED how she handled him when he overstepped with the manuscript on their first day of working together. That'd totally me if I had been in her shoes & he got ahead of himself like that. Honestly, most of their bickering/bantering was just fun - plain & simple -. I LOVE LOVE LOVE .

I’m definitely looking forward to what’s to come with the O'Callaghans. 🤞🤞🤞 Maggie & Cameron's comes after Keegan's, but I have a hunch KP might torture us a bit more & save them for last. I hope she doesn't start things up & establish too much between them before their own book. I had that happen with another author & I absolutely hated it. It sucked so much fun out of the couple in their own book.

(Yay at GR stopping being so screwy & let me finally mark it as finished 😂)

Boy oh Boy!!! Imagine With Me was just as deliciously sexy and captivating as I expected from its blurb. With a ton of enticing banter, some deep and emotional self discovery and that amazing O'Callaghan family that make me wish I was born Irish, Shawn and Lexi's love story was exactly the heart warming tale I needed to put a smile in my face!

This series truly has a special place in my heart, and with each new addition my love keeps on growing specially with interconnected new families, that just make me crave even more of this Seattle gang.

Shawn and Lexi have a rough start, and don't be mistaken, the back and forth keeps on going pretty much till the end, but this 'friction' just made their chemistry even more palpable, because they may disagree in the 'work' area but about everything else they were the perfect match, even if some stubborn man is in denial for far too long. Once he opened his eyes - once again thank you, AMAZING O'Callaghan family! - I love how he went about making things right.

Like I've said their attraction was undeniable, their banter delicious specially due to its very foreplayish kind of way, lol, and their personal growth along with their love just made Imagine With Me that much more captivating.

Once again Ms. Proby creates a love story so 'real', honest and sexy that it's no wonder I'm so addicted to her words, and specially this With Me in Seattle universe. I think I will NEVER get enough, and with these O'Callaghan tempting me, I'm now more than ready for the next WMIS to come. Need it, and need it stat! <3 <3 <3 <3

“I dream about you,” I confess as I watch my finger tickle her navel. “And when I’m awake, I long for you, for your touch. I don’t think I can say that about anyone else I’ve ever been with. You’ve put some kind of spell on me, and I don’t think I mind at all.”

Ridiculous.. if you’ve read the previous books then you already read this one. Lather, rinse and repeat. I think it’s time to retire this series they started to sound the same 10 books back!

I hate how other women are portrayed in books, Fake big tits bimbos. It’s a shame when a woman author does this. The fake big tits bimbo (heroine’s words, not mine) brought nothing to the story. Why have her kissed the hero and go to his house to throw herself at him when no drama came out of it?

This one felt a little different from what I have come to expect from a Kristen Proby book. Still enjoyable but I didn’t get as many warm fuzzies like I usually do with her stories. This one isn't my favorite of this whole series. But I would definitely still recommend romance readers read it.

I felt the connection between Shawn and Lexi felt different from her normal couples. Nothing bad, but just not as swoony or romantic. I think it was because they both kept fighting their feelings and were trying to convince themselves it was a colleagues with benefits scenario, so when they finally did admit it to themselves and each other, it felt kind of rushed.

Now with that said....Kristen Proby is still the queen of romance. When she writes a book it is the perfect getaway for your mind and soul. I am always swept up in her stories and characters lives. I am a huge fan of her With Me In Seattle series. Every time I read one of the books in this series, I feel like I am coming home. I love the Montgomery clan and all the other new characters she has introduced us to throughout this series!!! This is for sure my FAVORITE family saga series!!! I have read every book and I look forward to more in the future.

Imagine With Me is the 15th book in this series and it is just as enjoyable as all the others in this series. If you are a fan of family saga series, then this is one you need to read. I could read these books over and over again. Each book in this series can be read as a complete standalone. There are interconnected characters and you do see past couples in each story, but you will not feel lost if these books are read out of order. I thought the flow and pace of this story was perfect. This story is told in Dual POV.

In this book we follow Shawn and Lexi. Shawn is one of the O'Callahan siblings that we met in Dream With Me (Book 13) and he is a screenwriter that was hired by Luke Williams (Come Away With Me, Book 1) to write the screenplay of Lexi's book. Lexi Perry is an author who was contacted by Luke Williams to turn her thriller into a movie. Lexi agrees, but wants to have say in the screenplay. This is how Shawn and Lexi come to meet. Lexi's first impression of Shawn was not a favorable one, but finding her inner sass, she was able to stand up to Shawn and give him back just as good as he gave. Can Shawn help Lexi come out of her shell??? Can Lexi warm up to Shawn?? Will they get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.

I loved getting to know Shawn's family better in this book. I hope we see books for all the rest of his siblings!!! I want to read Keegan, Maeve and Maggie's stories. It is also still fun seeing the Montgomery clan show up and reconnecting with those characters as well.

Don't miss the latest Kristen Proby book!!!

4 "Enemies to Friends to Lovers" Stars!

I say this almost every time I finish a Kristen Proby book: sweet, sexy, great main characters and great side characters, low drama, low angst. This one was no different and I loved it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Sean was just alpha enough, Lexi was just sassy, yet vulnerable enough. I want to get to know the entire O'Callaghan family. Bonus, the setting was an island off the coast Washington. "Moody like the sea." I want to go to this island and visit the pub the O'Callaghans operate.

This series is like comfort food for me. It always leaves me with a smile on my face. Looking forward to what ever comes next in Seattle. Happy reading!

Imagine With Me is the 15th book in the beloved With Me In Seattle Series and it follows the story of Lexi and Shawn. Bestselling author Lexi Perry's dreams are about to come true. One of her beloved books is being made into a film. With her head in the clouds, anything is possible....that is until she meets Shawn. Shawn rubbed Lexi the wrong way after their first encounter, leaving her dreading having to work with him. They butt heads at every turn and the idea of them coming to a compromise seems nearly impossible. And it doesn't help that these two are undeniably attracted to one another. Will Lexi and Shawn find a way to get along? Will all the delicious tension between them lead to something more? There's only one way to find out....

Every time I dive back into the world that author Kristen Proby has created with the With Me In Seattle Series, it feels like I've come home. I'm immediately sucked into the world that she has created and feel this undeniable pull to the characters. And let me tell you, Imagine With Me does not disappoint.

From the moment I met Lexi and Shawn, I had to know more. These two had so much chemistry, I'm surprised my kindle didn't burst into flames. Sure, they butted heads and were stubborn as ever. But all that complication led to some serious tension. And I for one, couldn't wait to see how it all played out. Lexi was a fabulous character. As someone who is a total introvert, I found Lexi easy to relate to. Trust me, given the choice, I'd rather be hanging out at home, instead of being surrounded by a bunch of strangers. Lexi is extremely passionate about the stories she writes and has a clear vision in her head. It isn't easy for her to give up control and to just relax, but if anyone can pull her out of her shell, it's Shawn. Speaking of Shawn, I liked him right off the bat. He has a good heart and family means the world to him. He too is passionate about his craft and is used to getting his way. Lexi was the perfect match for him. She wasn't afraid to tell him no and wasn't afraid to stick to her guns about the things that truly mattered. I loved watching these two try to navigate their way to a happily ever after. Neither one of them was perfect, but that just made me love them more.

Imagine With Me is absolutely everything that I was hoping for and then some. I fell in love with the characters and their story instantly. I love, love, loved all of the secondary characters and am hoping that we will see more of Shawn's siblings in the future because there is just one story I am DYING for! Imagine With Me is well-paced and entertaining. This story is filled with lots of passion and tension. There's drama, but nothing over the top. There's romance and just the right amount of angst and steam. All in all, a perfect read to spend your day getting lost in. I look forward to seeing what this author has in store for us readers next!

ah...
With me In Seattle series...
In the whole sea of new books and new authors, I kind of pushed aside the series I loved reading...
My favorite being Play with me, I picked up Imagine with me on a whim and I fell into it instantly...

Enemies to lover trope is my fave, that's nothing new! LOL and Kristen Proby delivers this pent up chemistry and banter and bickering bordering animosity right on the spot...and it's hawt, it's pulsating and palpable...and I loved it!

What bothered me a bit, is the pacing and the length of the moments in between the actual action...but I guess that's on me :/, I'm a bit impatient in general this few months LOL, so it affected my reading, which is smth one can't really control...so, it is what it is!

And no, you don't really have to read all 14 previous books to read this one, you'll easily catch up with all the characters and figure out who is who in this game of push and pull until the actual realization that they can't live without each other! *wink*

p.s. yeah, i'm on binge now...catching up with the books in the series :)

What happens when you put an Author and a Screenwriter together to transform her book into a movie? Magic!

Lexi is finally seeing one of her books be turned into a movie but she hasn't given up full control. Lexi and the screenwriter, Shawn, will work together to bring her book to life. But when tempers flare will someone walk away or will they give in to the sexual tension that is hovering so heavy over them it's like a thick layer of fog?

Imagine With Me
With Me In Seattle #15
By: Kristen Proby

REVIEW ☆☆☆☆

As the fifteenth addition, Imagine With Me is part of Kristen Proby's long standing With Me In Seattle Series. This book is the Shawn O'Callaghan, and Lexi, story. These two are working together to turn Lexi's book into a movie, and they don't agree on much at first. Lexi is a keep to herself kind of person, but Shawn uses the advantage of his family to draw her out of her box. Of course, they share attraction and hot scenes. The best aspect is character growth. Lexi really opens up to possibilities and people. She reminds me of myself-introverted and avoiding everything and everyone. Shawn helps Lexi see what could be and what could happen if she steps out of her own confinement. The story is lovely, as expected, and I highly recommend!

This is hands down the hottest WMIS book in a long time and I loved every single word. It was a bit of a slow burn enemies to lovers story and it had all the elements I love in KP’s stories. As usual no detail was spared from the setting/locations in the book, to the characters, and the unique family dynamics.

Lexi and Shawn start with fireworks, but not the sexy kind. The tension between them starts from the first scene and it evolves into something so powerful. They are both such passionate people but they have walls up regarding commitment and relationships. It’s all fun and games until they both have to acknowledge how they truly feel about each other.

I love the evolution that Lexi has in Imagine With Me. With every chapter you can feel her opening up and growing and his attraction to her becomes deeper.

The O’Callaghans do not disappoint. I love this big Irish family and I can’t wait for Maggie and Cameron’s story. I have a feeling it’s going to be intense because there’s so much history between them. I also can’t wait to see what lucky lady captivates sweet Keegan. I’m sure we will get Maeve’s story soon enough as well. The O’Callghans have wedged their way into my Montgomery loving heart.

So book two of the O'Callaghan series focuses on brother Shawn. He's a screenwriter tasked with turning a book into a screenplay for Luke Williams (With Me in Seattle series, book 1). Lexi, the writer, is a bit of an introvert. So much so that she thinks she's agoraphobic. She's in Seattle for a month to work out the screenplay with Shawn.

I had a hard time connecting with Lexi at first. She was very rigid and set in her ways. I immediately loved Shawn though. He was fun. It's been a long while since I read book one, but it came back to me quickly, and the other O'Callaghan siblings all make an appearance. I LOVE them. I am Irish and have a big extended family, so I can really relate to this big Irish bunch.

After a while, I did start to warm up to Lexi as she started to come out of her shell. I did feel this book was a bit rushed and the romance moved really fast at points, then slow at others, if that makes sense. It was a little uneven, but still a really cute story that I would recommend. I can also loan it out since I own it, so if you'd like to read it, let me know and I would be happy to loan it out!

I've already purchased books 3 and 4 and they are on the to read list.

Imagine With me is a book that is part of the series With Me in Seattle by author Kristen Proby. I really like this series, and this book is a great addition to it.

Here we have the story of Shawn and Lexi two characters who are forced to work together to adapt one of the books by Lexi who is an author and will become a movie. Their relationship starts conflicting as they have a different view of what to do with the story to adapt it. I liked the dynamics of their relationship, even though there was an animosity in the beginning, the chemistry between them has existed since the moment they met and it is notorious that it is only a matter of time until something between them to know.

Their relationship is fun, sexy and sweet in one package. It was nice to see how Shawn and his family made Lexi loosen up more.

A light and romantic cute romance for those like me who love a good romantic story.

Imagine With me é um livro que faz parte da série With Me in Seattle da autora Kristen Proby.

Imagine With Me is the 15th installment in the With Me in Seattle series by Kristen Proby. We met Shawn O’Callaghan and Lexi Perry during the epilogue of the previous book (You Belong With Me, which I loved), but their first meeting is a part of this book for those who haven't read YBWM.

There is one thing that really frustrates me and that's when the separation is longer than the time the main characters spent together. Add the miscommunication and you have a very frustrated Sofia who has a mostly negative impression of this book. I have read 13 of the 15 published books and this is the lowest I have rated a book in the series since Under the Mistletoe with Me which was a novella listed as book 1.5. The most frustrating part was having Lexi grow and develop as a character offscreen. She did so many things that would make anyone proud and we didn't see even one little thing. And I hated that. She didn't even have Shawn cheering from the sidelines as he should have been since he was the one who helped her become the person she is by the end of the book. He helped her become confident and to believe in herself which was something she didn't know she needed. They spent months apart because of a silly miscommunication. The book was ruined for me because of it which is a shame because up to that point I was loving what I was reading and I was looking at one of my best reads of 2020. Now it's going on the bad list. For some reason, I feel like I was let down and I cannot get over it.

The O’Callaghan siblings that are still single were intriguing and I can not wait to read their stories. One of the good parts of the book is the presence of the O’Callaghan family. They brought an energy to the story that made me want to read more and more about them. Keegan is next and I am very excited about his story!

My list of book boyfriends has many Proby men included (looking at you Nate ;) ) and now one more just went shooting towards the top. Shawn O’Callaghan is everything. WOW!!

Shawn and Lexi's first meeting in the epilogue of You Belong with Me was great to read. It was just the best foot in mouth moment haha. In Imagine with Me we get to see it again but from Lexi's view this time. It really made an already great scene just epic. I love when different books or chapters give the same scene from different points of view.

Shawn and Lexi's story was so unbelievably hot and steamy. (think Tied with Me but add in a dash of Irish accent lol) I couldn't read this book fast enough. That's when you know its a truly great book, you fly through it only to have book mourning because it's over and you read it too fast haha. My highlighting got a workout in this book with so many wonderful lines to remember.

"You may drive me mad, but you're a pleasure to look at."- This entire scene made a highlight, So Swoon-worthy.

The O'Callaghan family is full of such rich characters. All of the members of this family just jump off the page and demand all the stories to be told. They are an absolute joy to read. I'm loving and craving every book with the O'Callaghan's.

Well that was disappointing. I don't care for a relationship to start off as friends, or in this one, co-workers with benefits. Sometimes it's ok, but this time it bothered me. Then they start talking about safe words, then rope. Then the old girlfriend from a long time ago kisses him, that wasn't needed at all. Then they use the rope. I don't care if they are both ok with it. I don't want to read it.

Kristen Proby has written some pretty steamy books so, when she said that Imagine with Me was one of the sexiest books she’s written in a while, I was intrigued. Not that I needed an additional incentive to read it. I’m obsessed with her With Me in Seattle Series and I’m always eager to dive in to a new installment!⠀

A rocky introduction and frequent clashes over their screenwriting collaboration find Lexi Perry and Shawn O’Callaghan at odds with each other and frustrated over their situation. The two writers escape the city and find recluse on the island where Shawn lives, in the hopes that getting away from any unwelcome noise and distractions would help them focus on adapting Lexi’s novel into a movie. But the fiery passion that sparks when they bicker over their differing opinions isn’t as easy to ignore in close quarters. It’s not long before they give in to the palpable sexual tension mounting between them, but with the understanding that theirs would be a temporary, no-strings-attached fling. Or at least that’s the plan...⠀

With their off-the-charts chemistry, a lack of inhibitions in the bedroom, and a mutual agreement to explore their innermost desires, Imagine with Me is indeed a fan-your-face steamy romance. If you’re in the mood for a relentlessly sensual, lighthearted love story that you can devour in one sitting, this is the perfect book to add to your TBR list. ⠀

Kristen Proby is back with another beautiful, unforgettable installment in the With Me in Seattle series and I am here for it sll y'all. And just when you thought you had a favorite family or couple in this series, a whole new crew comes along and I. was. here. for. it.

Imagine With Me was a soooo dang good y'all- sexy, funny, sweet, unputdownable, and perfect in every single way there was. Shawn and Lexi gave me all of the feels in the very best ways and I adored every single moment that there was. This journey was everything and I couldn't get enough.

Let's be honest here, I'd read anything written by Kristen Proby. She's brilliant at what she does and the With Me In Seattle series is one of my all-time faves and I'm ready for the next!

I highly recommend this book.

I really enjoyed this book, I like that they both have these big careers but what they love most is being in the kitchen for his family. It was more real I think. I also really enjoyed how they didn’t always get a lot or she didn’t just blindly agree with everything he wanted to change in her books.

I did appreciate the talking and understanding that went on. But what I truly enjoyed was the separation yes she fell hard but her life wasn’t there, at least not then and it took her finding out who she was after. For things to truly be the way they needed to be.

Great narration from Tim, and I like Emma but I like her man voice more. I don’t know why I just do.

First, can we please all just agree that Kristen Proby is never, ever., allowed to stop writing books in this series?

Thought so. Done deal there.

Shawn and Lexi were so fabulous together. And, while I am not going to spoil it, I loved that both characters were not only allowed to grow within the relationship, but to also spread their wings outside of it. I kind of loved this, the idea that 2 people could find parts of themselves that had been lost, and then nurture those parts, and then be together as even better and more whole people than they were before.

The emotion, the story and the character development in this story were all wonderful and I enjoyed and recommend this title.

Shawn and Lexi

Another great story! This is a great, romantic love story. It has a bit of everything. I will say, a bit too much back and forth for my liking. Shawn and Lexi embark on a relationship with a certain understanding. The relationship takes on a mind of its own! It’s a great ride spanning the globe. Such a romantic ending.

Another Kristen Proby work of art. This is another installment with a sexy Irishman who will worm his way into your heart. We got a glimpse of Shawn and Lexi at the end of You Belong with Me, and I had a feeling the banter and chemistry would be off the charts and it absolutely was! I absolutely loved Lexi! She showed the world to look inside and go for tour dreams. She also taught the reader that it’s okay to learn, grow and adapt.

I have always loved an “office romance” and this has a way with it. I loved every second of it.

It was a total treat to see even more into the O’Callaghan family. I can not wait for more.
If you want a sexy, hardheaded Irishman mixed with a strong female who is driven and an inspiration.... pick this up!

"Imagine with Me by Kristen Proby is workplace-based story about two creatives with very specific ideas about how to execute the transition of a book, Lexi's book to the big screen with a screenplay to be written by Shawn. Shawn and Lexi's relationship was so much fun! The banter and passion each had for their professional kept me glued to my kindle forcing myself to read slowly. Shawn did a really good job trying to respectful as he worked to help Lexi understand how her words would translate to looking up on the big screen. The way Lexi "found" herself, the way this relationship causes self-reflection, and the inner desire to find a better balance with her new career spoke volumes to Proby's character development skills. It also made me love Shawn more as he always wanted Lexi to just be herself! It was so great to get a glimpse of Luke Williams, the hero who started it all in this series in Come Away With Me ..... FYI if you can't read this one it is FREE! I am so excited for the rest of the O'Callaghan family to have their story told! I am so excited to read Keegan up next in Escape with Me, I can't wait to see who can get this O'Callaghan out of his pub! I am dying for the younger Margaret Mary to see what is right in front of her. If you can't tell the With Me In Seattle series is a top favorite of mine!" ~ Denise Shh Mom's Reading®

This is really a 2.5 but I rounded up for Kristen

I really love Kristen Proby, but this felt like a watered-down Kristen Proby story. There was no real meat to the story

These two meet at the engagement part for Elena and Archer and, while I don’t enjoy the stories where the characters are constantly fighting, or use fighting as foreplay, that is what this started as and there was real fire to both Lexi and Shawn. But then as the story moves forward, everything is superficial, we never get to the real meat of the story of the characters. There are several points where I think a thread/hook will be the main plot only for it to be just a random moment.

The rest of this review is basically the overview of the story so I’ll add the spoiler block

My issue with all of these moments was, what was the point of them, how did they help drive the story? They were just random life moments, which obviously works in real life but in a story they should have a purpose, a reason for even being mentioned. All it did was fill the story with random disjointed moments. There was no true plot driving the story line. Almost like the story was over edited.

Like I said above, I love Kristen’s stories, so maybe I expected too much from this one. We do get to know the O’Callanghan family better, so that is nice, we see more of their parents. I am really curious for Keegan’s story.

Overall, I didn’t not like the story, but I wanted more from it. I kept waiting for the main drama/meat/heart and it never came, it was all surface level.

Makes me wonder, the original books in this series had read/listen times of 8/ 9 + hours, all the ones after have been maybe 6, mostly 5 hours. Mostly I’ve been content with the story lines of the newer ones and the shortened time has not hindered the story, but maybe if this had been longer, she might have felt she could have done a deeper dive and a lot more showing/less telling after the fact.
