A Spring Harvest

Rate this book
This fully annotated edition of “A Spring Harvest” Geoffrey Bache Smith attended King Edward's School in Birmingham where he met his dear friend, J.R.R. Tolkien. This is also where Smith first fell in love with the art of poetry and began writing verses of his own. After graduating college, Smith became a soldier during the first World War and fought in the Battle of the Somme where he was severely wounded and died soon after on December 3rd, 1916. Two years later, his friend Tolkien helped to collect Smith's poetry into a compilation entitled, A Spring Harvest.

Featuring the original Preface by J.R.R. Tolkien and an updated Foreword by author Matthew Distefano, Quoir Classics is proud to republish this volume of poetry to introduce audiences to this obscure but masterful poet whose lyrical voice was silenced much too soon.

Quoir Classics, an imprint of Quoir Publishing, is dedicated to the rejuvenation of great works from exceptional authors of literature, poetry, philosophy and mysticism that still resonate with modern readers today.
