I liked the chapter on the history of Sabbath. Also, Edwards points out that in our modern American society, we no longer find our identity in our faith and community as people in the past have done. There are nuggets of truth, ideas, and quotes, but overall, I didn't find it as practical as I had hoped. After the first few chapters, I basically skimmed through the rest to see if it might offer more practical information. A few of his comments and reflections also gave me some concerns, so I can't recommend this book. I think there are better offerings on the subject of Sabbath rest in today's world.
