Loved Nicola's story. She had been working as an advisor to the new king of Ostrov Krov ever since her brother Nathaniel abdicated the throne to Matthew of house Chatterley. When someone sends a magical creature to assassinate him, she deduces it was a pirate, or someone associated with a pirate, and volunteers to be a spy to figure out who it was. She and Maddox manage to get aboard Isaiah the Great's ship and, when discovered, convince Isaiah that they are fleeing one of the other pirate captains and will work for their passage. Nicola, Nik, has disguised herself as a boy, but it is a little harder to hide her vamperic nature.

Eventually, Isaiah finds out her secrets and they grow closer after she saves his life. It turns out they are both after the same man - for very different reasons. Things get more complicated when the ship arrives in the Sky, where pirates rule. It seems the object of their search is also present. It's showtime.

When an assassin attempts to murder the new vampire king, Nicola, volunteers to persue and catch the them and bring them back to be punished. Whilst waiting to stow away on a pirate ship, she realises Maddox has followed her to help.
Isaiah has a very carefully crafted reputation to uphold, but when he realises that one of his new crew is a female vampire, he takes action to protect her as much as possible, by making a deal with her: she will help on the ship in exchange for transport.
So begins their journey, and what an adventure it all turns out to be, with strange animals, assassins, witches, battles, and secrets that are slowly revealed, and of course, romance.
Such a great story, I absolutely loved it and was hooked right from the beginning.

Nicola may not have her crown anymore after her brother absolved the current monarchy so there people could have a new ruler one not corrupted by there nature but Nik loves adventure so when the current ruler escapes and assassin she will embark on adventure to uncover one Evil pirate she will have to infiltrate another's crew to find out who's responsible. Isaiah is a very profitable pirate but one of his crew is different when he discovers not just a girl but a vampire they will have to work together to stop and enemy they have in common maybe even find they have allot more in common then just a villain. Another good read with action adventure and passion by the author.

Isaiah and Nicola kept me glued to this exciting story. He is a pirate and finds Nicola on board his ship as a stow away. She was once royalty but her brother abdicated the throne because of corruption. She now has her chance for adventure and she gets that and so much more. This paranormal story an action-packed spicy romance that had me connecting with Nicola and Isaiah.

Dang what a book. This one was a suggestion from a friend, and I'm so glad I read it . But I started with book 3 and now I have to read the first 2. This Nicola and Isaiah's story it started with a assassination attempt but ended with a hole lot of love

This book was non-stop action, vampires, pirates, and shifters all in the mix. Got to love a good pirate tale and this was exactly that. Great build to a romance in the midst of so much action and plots for revenge. I enjoyed the characters and story line.
