Morgan Rosewood is living happily in the city with her boyfriend, Ronan. They have plans to move to Glasgow to start new jobs and get married, when she gets a call from her mother. Her mom is an extremely independent woman, so for her to ask for help means things must be desperate. She goes home and finds her mom dealing with serious and advanced osteoporosis. She is scared of breaking something and in a lot of pain. Morgan stays to take care of her, as her sister runs a small farm with her husband and has two small children. When her mom dies, she is dealing with her emotions and reconciling with her family. She stays to clear out the house and sell off her mother's treasures and inventory at her vintage market stall. Nate Green is also back in Little Woodville. His plan is to get his dad to move back to Wales with him, as he is getting older. He has to declutter his old workshop, where he made wooden creations. He also plans to sell his items at the local market, but a mix-up has Nate and Morgan sharing a stall. Can these two help one another deal with their previous hurts, and move forward with a life that will make everyone happy?

This is the 2nd book in the series, but this one can be read as a standalone. You meet characters from the first book, which will spoil that one if you read it after this one. Morgan is a character that is easy to like. She gives up what looks like a great life, and future, to come home and take care of her mom. Once she returns home, unresolved feelings begin to surface and she has to rethink her future plans. She meets her mother's friends, and realizes what a great place Little Woodville is. Nate is also dealing with unresolved feelings about his hometown. His father is happy there, but he is sure that he needs to move him so he can care for him. I love small town/village stories. The characters are varied and some are quirky, but they all take care of one another. This is a forced proximity trope, but a little different. They don't really know each other as they are a few years apart in age, but have a lot in common. Their conversations reveal a lot to each other and themselves. I have to say that Ronan is a very patient and understanding boyfriend and although we don't really meet him, he plays a part in Morgan's story. This is a quiet, easy story, with family, friendship, new beginnings, and reconciliation as themes. If you are looking for a gentle story, a romance and sweet HEA, then this book is for you.

Cute and cozy-this was just what I needed as a refreshing read after some tough days.
Morgan moved back to her mothers cottage in Little Woodville, which is called Forget me Not, because her mother was dying as Morgan didn’t want her to be alone despite their estranged relationship. Now Morgan’s mother has passed away and Morgan and her sister Tegan are tasked with her challenge of going through their mother’s cottage and clearing out all her belongings, including all the stuff she sells at the local weekend market. In the process of this, Morgan starts to wonder if maybe she was meant to just stay at Forget Me Not but there’s just one issue with that-her fiancé Ronan who is waiting for her in Scotland.
Meanwhile, Nate has come to spend the weekend with his father Trevor in the same little village and following a chance encounter, they get to know each other better and realize that there may be more there between them. But there can’t be anything as long as she still has a fiancé waiting for her. Morgan has some hard decisions to make.
This was a feel good romance with warm characters and beautiful descriptions of the location.
Thanks to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for this eArc in exchange for my review.

A beautiful story of finding comfort in what’s important. I loved seeing how the community rallied around Morgan and Nate and helped them to realise what was needed in their lives. The market setting and meal get together at Sebastian’s were particular highlights.
Memories both sad and happy filled this emotional read as we journeyed through a slow-burn romance between the two of them.
The other characters in the story really made this for me as the impact of their kindness and support was felt throughout and not just by Morgan and Nate.

The second book in the Little Woodville series; I'm glad the author decided to write another book set in the lovely, fictional, Cotswolds village. I loved the first book and this one was just as lovely. Hopefully Helen Rolfe will write another book in this series!

What a perfectly drawn location – it’s something the author always does so very well, with such wonderful descriptions that you can smell the flowers in the beautiful cottage gardens and immediately feel entirely familiar and comfortably part of the setting. And the very real people who live there – perfectly drawn, immediately making you feel part of the community. And then there’s always such a well-told story at the book’s heart…

Morgan’s relationship and plans were put on hold when she needed to care for her mother – and after her death, she now wants to clear the carefully chosen stock that fills Forget-Me-Not Cottage by continuing the market stall they used to run together. And being part of such an embracing community, she’s beginning to wonder whether the future she had all mapped out is what she really wants. And her decision becomes increasingly difficult with the arrival of Nate – who is also still hurting (and feeling an overwhelming sense of guilt) following the death of his own mother after her slow decline with Parkinson’s, concerned about his father who’s now living alone. By chance, they find themselves sharing a market stall, where he sells his woodwork creations – his real passion – alongside her vintage pieces, and their easy friendship begins to build into something rather more.

The slow-burn romance is just so perfectly handled – two damaged people who I really took to my heart, and a developing relationship I entirely believed in. And then there’s the wider community – the people with their own stalls on the market, wrapping Morgan with love as she’s so very aware of her mother’s empty chair, and the wonderful meals hosted by Belle and Sebastian making sure that no-one ever feels alone. The whole book just has the loveliest emotional touch – a few tears at times, the sadness of loss, but a lightness and joy as Morgan and Nate grow closer, and plenty of opportunities to laugh and smile with the lovely community they’re very much a part of.

This really was the loveliest read – filled with warmth, friendship and family, with the relationship at its centre absolutely everything I wanted it to be. If you enjoy the same books that I do, it’s one I’d highly recommend you add to your summer reading list – I loved it.

♦️Morgan had come to her home in Little Woodville village to care for her sick mother. At that time, she was staying in London with her fiance, Ronan, and they had plans to settle down in Scotland. When she came to her mother, Ronan went to Scotland alone, expecting her to join him later. However, now, after her mother's death, she is trying to cope with the grief. While she is busy clearing the cottage, she is also running her mother's stall in the village market.

Nate had abandoned his passion of wood carving when he had left the village after losing someone. Now, many years have passed and still he has not made peace with his loss. This time when he is home, he wants to clear out the space which once used to be his workshop. So, he books a stall in the village market to sell the items.

How will Nate and Morgan help each other in fighting with their respective inner demons? Will the hustle and bustle of city life still attract them after getting used to the taste of a slow village life?

💥This was a cozy read and the lovely plot kept me hooked till the end. The wonderful description of an English village has the capacity of influencing any reader to want to shift there. The author throws light on grief and coping with it. She also asks us to forgive and be kind to ourselves. The story emphasizes on slowing down, enjoying the beauty of nature and the miracle of life.

💥Morgan and Nate are the protagonists of this story and one gets to know the story from both of their perspectives. While Morgan has plans of settling in Scotland, Nate has a well established plumbing business in Wales. Coming back to the village, they have slowly started to enjoy and get soaked in the quietness of a country life. However, they also have their own struggles to overcome and face reality.

💥This story tells its readers that some things are out of our control and we should allow them to "let go". It teaches us to follow our heart's desire as that is the only way we can be happy. It has the ability to make its readers feel warm and snug. I would definitely recommend this book to other readers.

I would like to thank the author, publisher and NetGalley for an eARC of this book.

As is my usual experience with this author, I was immediately transported to Little Woodville and felt the warm hug of village life. Morgan was beautifully imagined, and I could instantly feel that we would be friends in real life. She had put her life on hold to care for her ailing mother, ensuring that she had all her needs met in her final days. Now, in the aftermath of the funeral, her work still isn’t over. Her Mum loved her market stall, and her little cottage is full to the rafters with stock, so Morgan feels obliged to sell it all on the stall.
We then meet Nate who is also mourning the loss of his mother. She had passed away as a result of Parkinson’s, a deeply debilitating disease that he had struggled to deal with. After a particular fright, Nathan had left the village, returning only for the funeral. He’s now back in Little Woodville to persuade his Dad to move away from the village so that he can receive proper care.
Encouraged by his Dad, Nate returns to his purpose-built workshop where he used to love creating wonderful pieces from wood. This is a difficult process as he associates his woodworking with neglecting his Mum. Taking control, he decides to sell some pieces on the local market. Of course, a scheduling error leads to him sharing a large stall with Morgan.
Helen Rolfe has a talent for writing books that transport me to a different place, and I instantly feel at home. Her characters take shape quite effortlessly and are always perfectly developed. Little Woodville was easily imagined, and I am already looking forward to reading the first in this series. One major element to her writing is that romances evolve naturally and there is never a rushed feeling to any connections.
This book left me feeling happy and hopeful, a real treat to read.

Helen Rolfe’s Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a tender, heartwarming and engrossing tale about second chances, coming home and belonging that will make you laugh and cry.

Morgan Rosewood has returned home to Forget-Me-Not Cottage and to the small village of Little Woodville to look after her ailing mother. Morgan’s boyfriend Ronan has big plans for the future. But these plans are put on hold when Morgan’s mother dies suddenly. Heartbroken, devastated and with her emotions in turmoil, Morgan tries to distract herself by clearing her mother’s cottage and running her vintage clothes stall.

Little Woodville is the last place on earth Nate Greene wants to be in. He has his own reasons for staying away, but with the past having become impossible to evade, Nate is back to clear out his old wood workshop which is full to the brim with his creations. Securing a place on the market helps him to showcase his work and pretty soon he finds his old passion reignited and he falls back in love with his art.

I have read a few of Helen Rolfe’s books now and enjoyed them all, so I was excited to hear she had a new one out. Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage is het latest release.
At the start of the story, we meet Morgan. She has temporarily moved back to the village of Little Woodville to look after her ill mother Elaina. But she is still there in the Cotswolds seven months later, her mother has now passed away, and her fiancé Ronan is living up in Edinburgh. Things are not going to plan. When Morgan’s older sister Tegan comes to help out, she suggests there is still the option of Morgan staying in the village and living in their late mother’s house, but Morgan has to decide what she wants to do.
Nate is 38 and usually lives in Wales but, accompanied by his dog Branston, he is visiting his father Trevor, who lives in Little Woodville. He fears his dad is struggling on his own and plans to try to tempt him to move to Wales so he is near enough to help on a daily basis.
I liked both Morgan and Nate from the start and you could see they were both dealing with the loss of their mothers. All the characters were great though, I loved Trevor and Gillian too and the lovely dog Branston.
The village is beautifully described and easy to picture. I especially loved the Bookshop Café, with its author events as well as the obvious books and food - that would be the first place I’d visit! I also loved the community dinners, the way everyone looks out for each other and they all intermingle at the pub, the Saturday market and other key places.
The book is a lovely, heart-warming, feel-good read and I really enjoyed it.

My Opinion

This is the second book in the Little Woodville Cottage, but it can be enjoyed as a standalone.

This was a cute, cosy book and a nice escape from reality. This is another book by Helen Rolfe that I am delighted to have read - I have still yet to find a disappointing book. With some great descriptions I was whisked off to Little Woodville, and even though this was my first visit I felt I was quickly welcomed to the village.

A lovely, heart-warming read. I now feel the need to go back and read the first book in the series so I can spend some more time with these lovely characters.

MY REVIEW:
This is the story of Morgan, who drops everything to care for her dying mother. after her mother passes, she intends to sell the house and return to her fiancé, but fate has other ideas.

A sweet read with small village vibes, showing the beauty of endings and beginnings.

I loved this wonderful cosy read, such lovely escapism and with a beautiful slow burn romance. I am completely biased because I love a book by Helen Rolfe, she hasn’t written a book that I’ve read that I haven’t enjoyed. I am delighted when I get to read a new book in one of her gorgeous communities and towns/villages.

Speaking of these, Little Woodville is exactly the kind of place I want to live whenever I read Helen’s wonderful descriptions, the great characters make you feel like your returning to visit family or friends (and you want to join them) Morgan and Nate are a great set of starring characters, relatable, going through difficult times, it’s so beautiful to watch the support and comfort provided by friends and Little Woodville.

A slow burn romance is my favourite anf this one is just so well done, Morgan and Nate have so much they need to move beyond and to heal, it’s just emotional watching their developing relationship and healing (both individually and jointly) The whole story is just such an E motional read , tears a plenty but both sadness and joy , from loss, grief, to growth and new opportunities.

This is a beautiful story full of friendship, that wonderful community (can’t mention them enough read and you will understand) so much love and family. If you’re looking for a summer read, some escapism, something to make you feel, or just a really good book, I definitely recommend Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage

Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage is book two in the 'Little Woodville Cottage' series, the first being Christmas at Snowdrop Cottage. I will definitely be reading Christmas at Snowdrop Cottage come winter, so I can see the before to the Sebastian and Belle I've met in this book!

Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage opens on Morgan putting her plans on hold to go  look after her mother in the small town of Little Woodville. When her mother dies, Morgan takes comfort in her hometown, where as Nate avoided Little Woodville at all cost after his own personal loss. But, when Nate comes home to clear out his workshop, him and Morgan collide. Will coming together help them both heal from their own personal traumas?

One thing you've got to respect about Helen Rolfe is that she knows how to write characters. Whether human or animal, I loved every character in this book. Well, except for Ronan, but I think that was intentional. The older people in this book especially were all really amusing and felt real to me, like I could fully imagine my nan living in Little Woodville and meshing well with them all.

Although I did enjoy Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage, I also recognise that it's quite basic in terms of storyline and was very predictable because of that. Therefore, this book will be good for you if you like a soft romance, but if you're looking for something with a little more depth I'd suggest you skip this one.

Aww, Morgan and Nate were such sweeties!

Morgan came back to Little Woodville to take care of her very ill mother, who then passed away. Morgan had had a difficult relationship with her mother, so they made memories whilst Morgan was looking after her. She is enjoying living in Little Woodville despite the tough circumstances which caused her to come back, but she has a fiance waiting for her in Edinburgh.... She also has boxes and boxes of things that her mother used to sell at the local markets.

Nate came back to Little Woodville to spend more time with his dad. He also has a garage full of wooden products which he has made.

Both Morgan and Nate become stallholders at the markets and as their friendship gets stronger, their respective pasts come into play. And then there is the little fact that Morgan has a fiance whose patience is starting to run out.

Lovely story, not sugary sweet, which I always appreciate.

4.5 stars from me.

What a gorgeous, contemporary romance this proved to be,
With great characters, grief and a brilliant community.
A lovely read to escape into wherever you can
I highly recommend you include it in your tbr plan!

Returning to look after her Mum, putting her plans on hold,
Whilst her fiancé moves to Scotland, she's not so bold.
Her mother's death leaves her in a quandary
She's not sure of her future anymore, you see.

Nate Greene has also returned to Little Woodville once more
The care of his father and future he wants to explore.
He's also revisiting what he'd left behind
Unsure of just what it is that he'll still find.

These two are struggling with loss and grief
With battles to fight to find their relief.
Changing plans for the future, taking new chances
Will this be the opportunity for new romances?

A heartwarming read with a fantastic community, too,
I have absolutely no hesitation in highly recommending to you!
For my complementary copy of this book, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.

Very Enjoyable Read

I really enjoyed reading this book up to about 3/4 way through. After that it got silly when Morgan realised she had feelings for Nate, and decided she didn’t want to move to Edinburgh and broke off her engagement to Ronan (who was already in Scotland) but decided not to tell anyone, but continued wearing her ring. Even when Nate asked her when she’d be going she didn’t tell him, but kept up the charade by having an interview with the Edinburgh company, but not telling him that was the head office but her job would be somewhere nearer. Then she took off to Scotland without a word, (even though they shared the market stall) and he found out from the neighbor! for me that spoiled the tone of the book. Then she came back, thinking he had gone back to Wales, but when she saw him expected him to be all happy, still thinking she was engaged. Was she just going to let him go back to Wales.
Didn’t make sense. Otherwise it was a lovely sequel to Snowdrop Cottage.

After her mother's passing, Morgan returns to her family cottage in Little Woodville, aptly named "Forget Me Not," to sort through her belongings, even though they had a strained relationship. As she and her sister Tegan sift through their mother's items, which include those she sold at the local market, Morgan contemplates staying at the cottage permanently. However, her engagement to Ronan in Scotland complicates matters. During this time, she encounters Nate, who's visiting his father Trevor in the village. As they get acquainted, sparks fly, but Morgan's commitment to her fiancé poses a dilemma. She's faced with tough choices about her future.

A touching tale of recognizing life's true treasures. The way the community supports Morgan and Nate, guiding them to clarity, is heartwarming. The market scenes and gatherings at Sebastian's stood out notably. This poignant read takes us through an unhurried romantic journey between the pair, marked by both melancholic and joyful memories. The story's additional characters enrich the narrative, their unwavering kindness resonating not only with Morgan and Nate but with the reader as well.

A sweet and cozy stoy . The story is about Morgan and how she spent almost the past year taking care of her sick mother before she died . She drop everything to be there for her mom and she doesn't regret it . Now she has to clean up the house so it can be sold so she can go to Scotland where her fiance is waiting for her . But she is not sure if she wants to leave Little Woodville and the stall in the Saturday market . Nate is visiting his father and trying to convince him to come live with him in Wales . The first person he meets on his walk is Morgan and he feels for an instant connection but he can't do anything because she is engaged . Nate used to work with wood and now he wants to sell all his crafts at the markets . So he and Morgan share the same stall on the market . Will Morgan choose to hear her heart and have a life in Forget Me Not cottage ?

Morgan returned to Little Woodville where she grew up to look after her sick mother, then after she passes away she has to make a decision on whether to move to Edinburgh to join her fiance or to stay in the village that she has come to love. Similarly Nate moved away after his mother died, but returned as he is worried about how is father is coping on his own.
Reading this book is like eating your favourite food, really comforting and helping you feel at peace. Whether small village life is really as the story paints it or not it certainly sound like a place that I'd love to live with supportive villagers looking after each other. Both Morgan and Nate are struggling with the loss of a parent, which gives them something in common and can understand how each other feel, but will this lead to anything else. Read this enjoyable book to find out....
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher through Netgalley, however this did not influenced my review of the book.

This was such a relaxing and enjoyable read. Both Morgan and Nate have a lot in common, especially their strong sense of family ties. Both trying to come to terms with their feelings about the deaths of their mother, they also feel a pull towards their childhood homes and to the way of life they were brought up in. They also have a sense of guilt around their parts in different stages of their mothers' lives. Morgan and Nate have a lot in common and form a connection from the moment they meet.
The setting of Little Woodville is perfect for the story. A pretty rural village, it provides the ideal backdrop, with a range of varied characters who all share friendship and concern for each other, especially the older residents. There are some emotional moments for the characters along with the lighter moments. Branston, the dog, is adorable and the slow burn romance is just in step with the story. This is a perfect summer read.
In short: new starts, friends, family,

Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a light-hearted, beautiful summer read and set in the wonderful Cotswolds.

Morgan is still in Little Woodville having put her life on hold (she was supposed to move to Edinburgh with her fiancé Ronan) to look after her mother who sadly died. Ronan is exasperated that Morgan is still at her mother’s and is pressuring her to hurry up and move to be with him. Morgan decides to continue her mothers market stall until the remaining items have been sold.

During one of her many walks around the village, she meets Nate, who’s visiting his dad, Trevor. Nate is concerned about his dad living on his own and wants him to move closer to him in Wales. But first, he has to deal with his wood workshop. He decides to sell his creations at the local market.

Can they deal with the challenges each face ………

The setting is beautifully described and the villagers are friends I’ve yet to meet! A perfect read for a summer evening.

A lovely, heartwarming, uplifting tale set in a Cotswold village full of emotion and gentle romance begins with Morgan grieving after her mother's death. Morgan returned to her birthplace to help her mother and realised that she had forged a deeper relationship with her but had to postpone her life plans. Now, she can move forward, but is she still the same person, and does she want the life she envisages? Nate only visits his widowed father occasionally due to work pressure, but he is fighting guilt at not being there for his mother. This story has a friends-to-lovers romance at its centre, but it is the friendships and community spirit that make it so readable. I love the vibrant and easy-to-visualise village setting, the emotional exploration of family relationships and the gentle romance.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

Morgan Reese had moved to Little Woodville in the Cotswolds hoping to be with her ailing mom for a few weeks in their cottage called— Forget-Me-Not—but ended up staying for seven months.

After her mother passed away she stars planning on returning to Scotland to be with her fiancé Ronan.

Morgan’s mother had moved to Little Woodville when her marriage ended and Morgan and her sister Tegan were already teenagers.

Nate Greene was visiting Little Woodville from Wales and was looking forward to spending the weekend with his dad Trevor.

Following a chance encounter between Nate Morgan in the village, and learning they both went to the same school, they get to know each other better.

A feel-good romance novel filled with warm characters and beautiful descriptions of the village.

I had no idea this was part of a series, my apologies Helen. I've literally just downloaded the first book to catch up 🤦‍♀️

Who doesn't love a book that's set in the beautiful surroundings of The Cotswolds? I would give anything to have a little cottage there.

Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a gorgeous, feel good read with family at its heart and the focus on what's more important in life, which is definitely something I could relate to with both of my own parents becoming older.

The characters are wonderfully written, lovable and fast feel like old friends rather than just names on pages. And Branston, he was adorable wasn't he? He's a dog btw.

Delightful and an absolute joy to read.

Morgan returns to her childhood home in the village of Little Woodville - another place I would like to go and live - I do love Helens villages. She is engaged and was du4e to move to Edinburgh and to put it on hold to look after her mother, who is ill. After she died Morgans sister goes to help sort the cottage. She also needs to sell her mothers stock of vintage items on the village market

Meanwhile Nate has also returned to the village for a month to make sure his father is ok. He to has a lot of wooden items that he needs to sell at the market.

Its a lovely village, with plenty of wonderful characters and pets.

I can recommend this book and look forward to visiting this village again.

Morgan’s mother has passed away and she must clear her mother’s house, but while she intends to follow her partner to Scotland she is still grieving and plans will soon change.

Nate is back to visit his father but is having struggles of his own.

These two characters will come together and may just be the support that one another needs.

This was a lovely book, with both characters exploring their past and personal issues. I loved the description of the locations which added to this narrative. I adore this author and their writing style pulling the reader in and getting lost in a wonderful read.

Summer at Forget-Me-Not Cottage is a cozy and captivating story. The characters are lovable and it’s easy to feel as though the reader is right at home with them in Little Woodville.

While this is a sequel to Christmas at Snowdrop Cottage, it can be read as a standalone story.

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this book.

Having not long found this author I hadn’t realised this book was a sequel to the previous one in the series. Christmas at snowdrop cottage although that didn’t stop me reading this one as it was fab to read as a standalone.

This was a beautiful poignant story of finding yourself and what is important in your life and of love loss and grief and how with the help of loved ones life can begin again.

The book had relatable and likeable characters set against the back drop of beautiful scenery and a real community feel.

I can’t wait for the next instalment of this series.
