Finding Home: Harris Twins Book #2

Rate this book
Twin Springs Ranch is back on track, and AJ heads to the local auction to find a horse to add to the stable. Amid the bidding, he finds not only a perfect horse, but a woman who feels like an old friend even though they just met.

Lilyana is devastated that her job at Mr. Heward’s ranch is coming to an end and that the horses she loves are being sold. When she meets the man who bought Chance, he invites her out to his ranch, and she accepts, even if she’s unsure if it is a date or not.

Lilyana helps AJ through his grief and, after nearly losing the ranch to a wildfire, shows him what the future of the ranch could be like. Could there be a permanent place at Twin Springs for her? Was she lucky enough to not only find the man of her dreams, but the job of her dreams, too?

"It wouldn't be her farm but it could be her home."AJ is adjusting to his new normal on the ranch, with all the changes since Brax returned. Whe n Mr. Heward sells his ranch to retire, Lilyana finds herself jobless and homeless. AJ is taken with Lilyana, meeting her at the horse auction, but they haven't managed to go on an official date yet. This book is a very nice followup to "Twin Springs Ranch", with the focus on AJ this time. He and Lilyana both seem a bit socially awkward, and yet they bring out the best in each other. I really like Lilyana. AJ is so comfortable with her, enabling him to open up and properly deal with the grief from his father's death. And when the ranch is threatened, she's right there to help. I was hoping for more closure at the end of the book, but I think that the author has done an excellent job of setting up the next book in the series. Even though this is the second book in this series I will most definitely be reading the others! I loved how well this story was written. The characters were well described and written. I could truly see this story in real life. The scene description was written well and I could picture myself at Twin Springs!!!

I loved how AJ and Lilyana met as well as how their relationship started to develop. Very relatable and real. AJ has his quirks but Lilyana soon sees the real AJ and helps him express himself in ways that he hasn’t been able to before. And AJ is the chance and hope that Lilyana really needed after Mr Hewards ranch closed. I like how strong willed Lilyana is in fighting for her dreams of doing what she loves.

I received this book as an arc and I am voluntarily leaving my review!

This is the second book in the Harris Twins romance series. You can read this as a standalone but book one is AJ's twin brother Braxton's story and it does give a bit more background about the ranch and the brothers relationship. This book is a sweet romance with some mild cussing. AJ has been dedicated to the ranch, never giving himself time to have a life. His brother is back and seeing him happy with Sydney has him looking at his own solitary life. He meets Lilyana at a horse auction and they click but AJ is a bit awkward around women. Lilyana's life is up in the air after her boss sells the ranch she was working at. Enjoyable, sweet read. Can't wait to read book three. I need more on these two couples.

I'm not in romance and horses, but...
Isla Ryder made me fall in love with cowboy AJ. The way he appeared in the book - clumsy and shy - so, cute and sweet, I couldn't get enough of him.
The horses, open places, and simple, but warm dialogues - made me remember the best moments of my childhood spent on the farm.
I loved the relaxation the story let me experience after a hard-working day. It let me forget all the worries and enjoy the simple life in the Twin Spring Ranch, which is not so simple after all...

A moving and richly-detailed story with likeable and relatable characters. I love the budding relationship between the two main characters - AJ and Lilyana. it was realistic, as were the circumstances that brought them together. The characters themselves were well drawn. Not to give anything away, but I really liked how this series is developing and I look forward to reading more about the characters. I did not even know equestrian romance was a thing, but now I'm hooked!

It's a sweet romance for AJ and Lilyana. I met AJ in the first Harris Twins Romance, and I was struck by his kind heart. Even as I was rooting for Brax and Sydney, I was looking forward to AJ's love story. I just knew it would be good, and Isla Ryder didn't disappoint. To quote the author, this is a "sweet equestrian romance." I've read a lot of cowboy romances, but I don't recall seeing equestrian romance as a subgenre. Nevertheless, it works because the horses are pretty important to the characters, and they've shaped who the characters are in their own way. Plus, a horse is responsible for bringing AJ and Lilyana into each other's orbit. These characters are so well-suited. Lilyana is as good-hearted as AJ, and they both want nothing more than to spend time with the horses. Well, nothing more than each other, then spending time with the horses. This one is a quick read as well, and I liked the first well enough to just keep on reading. So, between books one and two, I spent an afternoon and evening on Twin Springs Ranch. It was a nice little escape from everyday stresses.

What a great story!

I loved this book! I lived through a fire on the mountain behind my ranch years ago, between my sisters and I we had 32 horse's, riding and roping horses, several mares with foals, 5 green unbroke colts, two blm mustangs who didn't lead, a blind pony and a crippled stallion. We tied a bunch of them head to tail, saddled everything that was broke to ride, loaded a few in the horse trailer and within a hour had every horse moved away from danger. The mustang mare and her foal followed the rest. Getting them all home was a lot harder, it took almost three days! Loved this story and can't wait for the next one!

AJ is happy the ranch is financially stable, but with his brother and Sydney happiness, he's feeling like something is missing. Lilyanna is losing her job and she helps Mr. Heward sell the last of his horses. This story is love at first sight, only they don't know it. Also AJ is so awkward and quite endearing. Lilyanna is patient and loving, and it shows in her care of animals. These two are perfect for each other, and the story is enchanting. I wish all couples would be as open with each other as these two are together.

Sweet and funny

I love awkward heroes and AJ fits this to a T. Interactions that cause blushing or end with his foot in his mouth? Cute and just the right amount of cringe. I loved it. Lilyanna is the perfect match to his awkward style and they fall in together for this sweet HEA.

I hadnt read book one and I found that I didn’t miss anything of this story by not rrading it first. I will go back and read Braxton's story now. Horses and cowboys on a dude ranch make this a perfect afternoon or evening read. The story moves along at a good pace, keeping your interest up.
