I couldn't feel the connection between the characters. They flow of the story was off. At one point he is referring to the UK and about he isn't with his "Honey" which was lame to begin with. "My honey" insert eye roll. Especially since they weren't together. As far as the UK I took it as he left her there and went to NY. So if that was the case and she was broke how did she get to America?
2/5 - worst nickname ever (Cherub, like wtf is that got to do with the story she's technically the opposite) also the plot?? Was there even one or just rob the billionaire ex and hope everything works out the opposite that it would in reality??
Good lines: - The thing is I didn’t blame him for it; I admired him. - “I’d never promised I was a good girl. If anything, you preferred it when I was bad. It was much more to your taste,” I uttered pushing against the door as I undid the knot of the apron with one hand and pushed it into his chest. - I’ll always protect all of my family and only one other person . . . you.
Smut: - “Honey,” I growled into her ear, “you can’t admit something like that then run away from me, my cherub.”“Why not?” she stuttered huskily. “What else should I have done?” I smashed my lips, against hers with a bruising force, my tongue demanded entrance and dueled dominance with hers as she met my every move and tried to out win me. I was desperate for more as her mewl escaped timidly from her throat as I pulled myself back and stared at her swollen pink budded lips. Breathless. She made me totally breathless.
Del used to life his live on the dark side, until a friends offered him a lifeline, and he now works for him. Anise let Del leave without her, breaking his heart in the process. Now a couple of years later Anise is in trouble and needs help, and she knows Del will help. This is a well written quick read, with romance, emotions, heartbreak, second chances, intrigue, and love, which leads to a steamy page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Anise and Del were in love and had the world at their feet until she left. Now a few years later she is back and needs his help. He loves her but she broke him, will he help her anyway?
This is a super short story and major storyline gaps that I wish were filled in .
almost stopped reading completely but was literally 39 pages. sO boring, i get bc it’s 39 pages you can’t introduce a plot and characters fully but i was just so confused and there was nO spice whatsoever. v disappointed :(
